BRIKSMAX Led Lighting Kit for LEGO

Ich will ehrlich sein: ich habe selten so geflucht wie beim verbauen dieser Beleuchtung. Aber was macht man nicht alles fr seine Kinder.
Ich bin der absolute Anfnger hierbei und hab es trotzdem, danke guter Anleitung, super hinbekommen.
Am Ende gabs nur ein Problem: keine Lampe hat funktioniert.
Ich habe dann den Verkufer angeschrieben und nach nicht mal 24 Stunden eine Anleitung erhalten, mit der ich rausfinden konnte welche Teile defekt waren. Diese hab ich dem Verkufer aufgelistet und nach 10 Tagen alle Teile im Briefkasten gehabt!
Wow! Super und vor allem auch freundlicher Kundenservice.

The lights pulsate, have different settings, and look amazing.
The install is not for the faint of heart, but not overly difficult if you follow along with the youtube videos available.
This company has EXCELLENT customer service.
A wire broke during my install and they sent out a replacement free of charge and even included an extra minifig in the package that my son loved. Highly recommended!

There are a number of lighting kits for the new Ghostbusters Lego ECTO-1 10274, but I went with Bricksmax. I wasn’t disappointed! The build quality of the system is incredible, and the final effect amazing. All the components are well made and wrapped in sealed packets. The brightness of the lights is spot on, and the design of the lighting top notch. Headlights, secondary lights, flashing blues on the roof whose frequency can be controlled, even a light in the engine. The wiring is cleverly hidden and those that can be seen add to the effect and detail of an already incredible version of ECTO-1. I recommend you follow the brilliant Bricksmax video on YouTube as the included instructions are good but can’t replace watching a pausing a video! Over the moon with the purchase, especially when I turned on the battery pack (that get’s concealed in the car) and every single light worked perfectly.

First off, the final product looks amazing. I used small files to make groves in blocks so the wires didn’t get pinched. Plus it makes a cleaner look at the end. BUT!!! That being said, if you have big hands or poor vision, this will be a challenge. But just like everything else, take your time, enjoy the process and you’ll be rewarded with a beautiful display piece. Next up, the firehouse gets lit.

Out front, I’ll say this kit makes the finished LEGO kit look amazeballs, but there are a few things the makers could do to make it even better.

First off, it’s not at all easy to assemble. I’ve been building LEGO kits since the middle 80s, and while these LED lighting kits are relatively new, I’ve bought a few in the past that were considerably easier to apply.

That said, the finished product–at least in this case–is superb. My issues stem only from things that should be lit but aren’t, or should be lit differently, as well as the idea that this kit might be easier to apply as you build the LEGO model itself.

First, the two marker lights on the grille should be lit. They’re not. This could be an easy add-on, but would require another expansion board and two more lights.

Second, under the hood, the light they have against the vehicle’s firewall is actually supposed to be, I think, either a brake fluid reservoir or for wiper fluid. If they want a light under the hood, it should actually be on the hood itself, though I can’t speak to whether or not these cars were actually equipped that way or not.

Third, the interior lights should all be the same color temp. The warm white light makes the most sense, since the cooler bluish lights weren’t really a thing in 1959, and it’s doubtful Ray Stantz would’ve equipped the Ectomobile that way, even with 21st century upgrades. The same is true for the headlights. The cool blue is inappropriate, and should be the same warm white hue as the other dog lights on the front end of the car. (As an aside, I haven’t seen Afterlife yet, since it hasn’t been released, but I feel that Jason Reitman probably wouldn’t overlook something potentially so distracting in such a major inanimate character tied to his childhood.)

Fourth, the single red flasher on the roof over the driver’s side. The control board they provide for the two blue light bars could easily be used to make this light pulse as well. If memory serves, there should still be a few open spots on one of the expansion boards used for those lights, and this would be a nice touch. I’ve thought about disassembling the roof in order to do so, but that’s a lot of trouble at this point.

Lastly, the total lack of any written instructions makes things potentially very confusing, especially where pictures tend to be filled with black pieces. There was a fair amount of guesswork on my part, as well as some creative wire-routing in order to take up extra slack, or avoid having wires routed in places that would be easily seen, or distracting.

All in all, it’s a great kit, and I’m very satisfied with the end product. A few nitpicks here and there on my part shouldn’t prevent you from grabbing your own. Flipping the switch when all was finished sent a wonderfully nostalgic tingle down my spine, and I was a kid again, watching the guys race off from Hook & Ladder 8 towards the Sedgwick Hotel. The only thing better would be a tiny speaker replicating that super odd siren.

9/10, would buy again.
