We had hard time finding weights for our round parasol stand, which was already heavy. But bot heavy enough for our high winds and this is perfect.
We made a bit of a mess on the patio filling it up, but now it works great and live the Clio to keep it wrapped around and the handle to help carry it.
    Would fully recommend.

Good weights for the garden umbrella, easy to use and better than the solid ones as you can move it to where you want them. Fast delivery, will definitely buy another one.

Really nice quality, sturdy and easy to fill with sand, best weight we ever bought. Doesn’t take a lot of space of the terrace either. So very pleased with it.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersSimple enough, just fill with sand and wrap around your existing parasol base. Quite fiddly to fill but you only have to do that once. I’m not convinced it’s value for money but if you need to add some kilos then this will do the trick. I filled with a single bag of building sand from B&Q and it was pretty full

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersI clipped it around the base of the umbrella stand and added a couple of 3 bags of sharp sand. Little bit of a fiddle getting the sand in but I can’t see how they’d make it easier. The umbrella is now as solid as a rock. Fab!

Very good parasol base weight. We bought an extra parasol to give shade in our garden, but some strong winds threatened to tip the parasol over! We had one of those cast iron bases, but it was just not heavy enough for free standing parasol. So we opted for this base weight bag. Its good quality material, thick canvas type material, and the hole to fill the base is big enough to make it easy. We filled ours with soil, sand and gravel and it now weights about 20-25kg, apparently it will take about 40kg at its max.
The bag easily fits around a normal parasol base and can be split apart, via velcro type straps, and it also has a handy carry handle. This extra weight now secures our free standing parasol and it does not threaten to overturn in high winds, so its doing its job fine. Thanx

Fabulous item. Does a fantastic job. Takes a couple of bags of sand to add a load of weight to your parasol base at a very good price.

Took 3 bags of sharp sand and used for a rotary dryer. It does what it needs to do except in really high winds.

All you need is something to fill the weight bag, I used sand. Brilliant for our sun shade

Its easy to fill with sand, it quit heavy once full. It stops the parasol from tipping over in a wind. Good cheap idea.

This product is easy to assemble and is sturdy enough even when there is windy weather. It is the finishing touch in assembling a cantilever parasol.

This isn’t a bad product but I have one issue with it. To use it you simply fill it up with sand (lots and lots of it) and then it keeps your umbrella in place. Once filled with sand it’s very heavy so to move I have needed to empty some of the sand out. That was a bit of a nuisance. If you’re going to keep your umbrella in one place then this would be ok.

sturdy and durable, i’ve had mine filled for over three weeks and the seams are strong its been perfect. well made with good quality material that will last a while and seems durable enough to get through the british weather.

Very good & cheap way of holding down a parasol. Only issue was the size of the filling hole. Could be large

This is so easy to use, fill it with sand and wrap it around your parasol, or you can slide through the middle. This has really helped steady or large umbrella. We previously had an old, water filled one which was rubbish.

The item was not very easy to set up as I am disabled. Once filled and in place though, it’s fantastic, my parasol hasn’t moved. Just make sure you have a handy someone to help.

Looked like ciutoof trousers when it arrives, no paper work or description

Simple to use when I figured it out.

Holds down a parasol and stops it blowing around.

Just buy a builders bag of sand and fill it, it is cheap to buy from Wickes.

It does resist wind and save me using a bag of cobble stones that I used effectively last year,.

I filled this with large stones and it work so well. We put it over our parasol base (a small round thing that is filled with water but still tips over) and ever since it has stayed up even in the wind. You can fill the bad with stones or sand and it has a buckle to close it around whatever you are trying to weigh down.

This is a good solution to the problem of securing parasols and not letting them blow away on a windy day. It is easy to use – just fill it with sand and it weighs down the umbrella well. Works efficiently to stop you worrying.

I own a different branded weight bag to keep our cantilever umbrella in place, unfortunately one bag isn’t really enough for ours as the umbrella blew over with one gust, it’s not the fault of the bag but the size of the umbrella and the spar that lifts off the ground with the wind, the spar seems to encourage lift! Anyway I only mention that bag as opposed to this one as I can compare each. This bag certainly an improvement in several areas. First off and the big positive difference for me is the fact the bag not a total undivided circle. This means I don’t have to loft it above the central stand to drop it down (don’t forget I have spars that get in the way), I just have to slip it sideways and then close it with the velcro AND a sturdy strap and connection to form a secure circle and not have to totally lift it to a great height with this split. It’s a ‘heaven sent’ feature. Now the other positive is the material is a lot thicker than the other weight bag, the other bag did have Oxford fabric but certainly not this dense a weave which means it shouldn’t allow the sand to get damp like the previous bag, wet make’s it weigh a ton! Also this bag has good reinforcement with a thicker band of material all the way around the circumference of this bag. Now this bag also has a good sturdy handle, a large rectangular opening to gain access for filling with sand, you close it with velcro. All good so far, it just remains to be seen what the stitching is like, the previous different quality bag split in the centre all along the seams, I hope this one doesn’t. I can’t forecast the future but here’s hoping. I also can’t stop this cantilever umbrella falling over in the wind with just one weight bag, so if this lives up to the look of the quality, and the quality does look very good then I’ll buy another because at the moment there is no windhold on tight! I’m giving 5 stars because it has a lot of positives the other bag didn’t have! 5 stars.

Many positives, particularly the split in the circle, good use of Velcro, handle, material quality

A very clever idea, this parasol base is supplied rolled up as essentially a big flat bag with a hole in the middle. It can be filled with sand or fine gravel to create a very weighty base for most parasols. It is quite large though so if you have a patio table you need to check the measurements as it won’t fit under one of my tables. Once filled it’s pretty heavy and hard to move, but you can of course start emptying it. It has a small carry handle on it which you could drag it around with if needed. Very useful and unobtrusive when filled and in use under a table.

Lovely and so practical base weight bag, that is designed for a parasol base.
    It is easy to fit.
Just fill it with pebbles or sand and you have a neat weighted base for you parasol.
    Couldn’t be easier.

Arrives as an empty do-nut. There a flap to fill it with sand or pebbles, and a strap on the side to tighten the hole once it’s in use.
Very clever. I’m very happy with it.

Takes 40Kg of sand to fill.

Great idea and very effective. Reassuring to know that my parasol won’t blow over.
The construction of this weight bag is sturdy. It has an accessible filling opening closed by a Velcro flap and two sturdy handles for when it is necessary to move it.
It fits neatly around the pole, sitting on top of the base and looks smart.
Maneuverability is heavy when filled because it does take alot of sand to fill it full.
    Value for money.
