Far better than I’d expected. The quality is good and compares well with known brands. This isn’t a cheap toy, it’s a tool that exceeds the needs of the general DIYer but is robust enough for a tradesman. It’s not particularly light but then decent materials do have some weight to them.
The cost of hiring a floor sander made us try this. Its cost is covered by the price of hiring a floor sander twice. It’s simple to use, sands floors well and leaves a great finish. We were glad we tried it. Comes with a selection of sander pads/sheets.
This is an electric foldable sander. I’ve recently moved into a property was almost every room what completely wallpapering and plastering so this has been invaluable in helping to prepare the walls, sand them down ready for painting, The sander itself features a foldable extending handle, five variable speed settings, and an automatic dust collection, which is quite effective and although inevitably a little bit will still be thrown into the air, it does seem to retain and collect about 90% of the dust. There is a built-in ring of LED lights around the unit so you can see what you’re doing and it really does help to highlight blemishes or uneven spots in the plaster where they need extra attention.
The unit feels weighty enough, so when using it you can get a fair bit of heft behind it, to really stand down uneven surfaces, and it’s light enough for my wife to be able to use it for short periods of time, however it is surprisingly noisy and the vibrations mean you’re only going to use it for 10 minutes max before you have a bit of a rest.
I do like this product and I think if you are undertaking a major house renovation it is worth considering an investment, but it’s not the sort of thing a casual user would use repeatedly.
This well constructed sander operates and feels like a professional level machine.
The dust extraction is very efficient and the sanding action and speed turn a once tedious job into a much faster process.
Highly recommended.
Sanding made easy….
I used this sander on a small project in a bedroom. Overall, I was impressed. The sander did exactly what I needed it for.
I like the variable speed it offers and keeps you in control. My favourite part is the led ring lighting. It allowed me to see the area I was sanding ensuring the wall is now smooth and ready to decorate.
The sanding is loud but is expected. The dust collection bag is amazing and did a great job. I was working in a small room and worn an additional face mask for a little extra protection. The sanders vibration was a little surprising at first but you soon get used to it.
The extension pole is amazing. It allows you to reach ceiling and the top of a wall while keeping your feet firmly grounded. The cable length is generous and allows you to move around freely.
The removable corner allows you to get a professional finish and the folding design keeps it stored away neatly.
The fact it works out the box is a massive win. You get a selection of different sand paper to ensure you can start any project out of the box.
I was very happy with the end result. Yes, it’s big and you could use a smaller hand-held sander but you wouldn’t get the same finish if you spend the same out of time.
Would be a great tool for any professional plasterer who was using plaster board or any keen DIYER who has a restoration project
I think it’s amazing value for money and would highly recommend it.
5 stars
Our ceilings are quite uneven, walls too in places. This seems to be just the job to sort that, or at least vastly improve it.
It is a well made item that is quite weighty given you are going to be holding it above your head, but the locking switch helps so you don’t have to keep a finger on it.
The large size of the plate means getting a flat surface is made easier, as do the LED lights which shine across the surface highlighting uneven areas.
As well as the weight it is quite a noisy beast, but ear defenders soon sort that.
Another design feature I liked was the dust extraction down the handle. This keeps the hose out of the way and makes it less cumbersome.
Lastly the fact that it collapses down into a relatively small storage bag is a real bonus. Being something that will not be used frequently, it is nice to not have to give over a lot of space to it’s storage.
I like this a lot.
Adjustable 5 speed (800-1750RPM) drywall sander with dust extraction hose/bag. This sander also folds down for storage and there’s a storage bag included. It has a 90 degree pivoting head, very convenient for use on ceilings. The removable ball design base is great for corners too. The dust bag is brilliant, it says up to 90% extraction and we’d agree with that. You can also adjust the suction. We put down dust sheets but we didn’t need them, there was some on the walls themselves and a bit around the hose connection on the machine but nothing significant. It has a LED light strip around the base for use in the dark, and an extendable handle making it easy to reach ceilings. There is 12 velcro backed sanding sheets included in the box.
This sander really impressed us, making quick work of preparing our kitchen walls for painting. It allows you to get a perfectly smooth surface to get the best paint finish possible. I recommend sanding between coats too, but turn the sander speed right down! This is a powerful piece of machinery and it’s not light. However, it does have good grips where the hand placements are and the trigger is comfortable to use. I do recommend using a dust mask despite the extraction bag, because the walls get very chalky. It’s quite noisy, as you’d expect, so you may want to wear ear defenders too.
The only thing I can criticise is the instructions, as the writing is very small, but my husband did find them adequate. He found the sander easy to use once he got used to holding it up. This sander will save us a lot of money as we have an old property. We are still getting wood chip paper off in some rooms and the surfaces underneath need a lot of preparation for painting. They are big rooms so using textured papers under paint is expensive, not too mention I prefer smooth painted walls. At 119.99 we thought this was reasonably priced and we’d easily spend that in textured paper if we couldn’t get smooth walls for painting.
I love it. I did some renovations at my house and this was so helpful. It was so easy to use, it is a little on the heavy side but it’s so worth it. Definitely recommend
Well-made wall sander.
Instructions are adequate.
Easy to operate.
Effective in use.
This feels and looks like industry grade gear. It’s big, It’s loud and makes sanding walls light work in comparison to my tiny little orbital sander.
The speed is adjustable with 5 different settings. The RPM is stated from 800 all the way up to 1750.
I didn’t need it, being over 6ft tall, but the pole that you hold is height adjustable, that gives you that extra length when you need it for taller ceilings.
The best part about this, is the dust collection feels like it works. I 100% recommend using it as it will save you a ton of extra dust.
Its nice that it came with a set of 12 sandpaper pads, but I can foresee myself going through these fairly fast, finishing sanding my whole house.
At this time of this review, the cost of the Drywall Sander was 120. At this price, it is a fairly good investment of your going to spend any more than a day sanding walls. And let me tell you it always takes longer than you think to do a good job.
This sander couldn’t have come at a better time. I’m selling my property and wanted to sort out the ugly Artex in one of the rooms and my son is in the process of renovating a couple of properties.
A lot of faffing to put together and too heavy for me to use personally but my son had no trouble using it he was very happy and says I’ve saved him money on the jobs he would have had to pay to get done.
Pretty pleased and I’d recommend
I hope you found this review helpful
This is he most amazing this i have ever had. Extremely easy to use…i’ve been doing some renovations in the house and some walls needed sanding and this tool came in handy…like…a blessing to have. Very easy to work with and also very easy to keep clean. An absolute dream to have this. It’s worth every single penny. I would whole heartedly recommend this to anyone….it’s a great addition to any household…or any working professional….this is a good investment. Great value for money definitely.
This is a very good sander – we needed to sand wooden cornicing near the ceiling, and this has the reach to let you do that. It is well built, sturdy without being too heavy, and it’s effective, making light work of our dark wood cornices.
The only issue we had was with the vacuum component – in theory it ought to suck in all the dust, but we had a fair bit of it fly free, which was annoying. The majority of it went into the bag, but enough was released that we needed to wear respirators to avoid breathing it in.
This isn’t the most expensive sander by any stretch, but at 119.99 (at the time of writing) I would have wanted the vacuum function to have been more effective.
Still, 4 stars because apart from that, it’s a nifty bit of kit.
This is without doubt a heavy duty piece of kit, and is quite heavy to work with overhead or on the walls.
I would still recommend wearing a mask, as although the bag captures a lot of the dust, some still escapes and as it’s so powerful, as I’d expected, it’s really noisy so ear protection is needed for prolonged use.
LED lights highlight rough areas that have been missed much more effectively than I could have hoped for.
At the highest speed, the included sandpaper does wear down quite quickly, but that is representative of how quick it’s smoothing a surface.

Our inside roofs have all been Artexed with a million little points of plaster hanging down. I have tried scraping them off the roof, sanding them by hand and using a plane sander and it is a hopeless and unrewarding job.
This sander is heavy, but I used it on my kitchen roof and after some trial and error to get it right, it made the job of flattening the plaster really easy to get it smooth. I did have to be careful not to go at it too hard though as it is easy to take off more than you want to.
It is very noisy when powered on so I wore a pair of ear defenders and a mask to limit the amount of dust I would inhale as you still get some. I was working on the roof so I also wore protective glasses as well, but then that is normal advice for this type of job I guess.
The whole tool is really well made and you get enough disks to get you started. The instructions are reasonable as well and the whole thing can be repacked into its carry bag when you are done with it.
I’m not a professional but this seems to be worth 5 stars. I’ll leave it up to you to decide if you want to spend the money for it, but it does make the job easier and faster.
This rather heavy unit is really for serious DIYers and professionals – it isn’t something I would use regularly, but as I am doing a floor right now, I thought I would use this to see how it actually helped.
And, whilst it is heavy to use, especially for the older DIYer (me) it did help enormously and made a long tiring and awkward job, fairly easy. The motor is noisy and when using it is essential to wear ear defenders – a mask as well as the dust can be a problem, especially in an enclosed room.
In use, because of its variable speed, it is fairly easy to use – once you get used to it that is – and whilst being somewhat cumbersome, it really is worth the effort. I used it first on a small patch of ceiling which has artex on it from years ago, and it handled that quite quickly and efficiently, But it was the floor that was best – for me that is – which came up a treat.
Always difficult to review something like this specialist unit, so all I can say, from a DIY point of view is that this can ease a very difficult job considerably and save a lot of anxiety as well as time.
I have recently had my house plastered so needed a sander to ensure the walls were smooth before paint and after basecoast.
The sander came with pads already to use out of the box. they are standard size pads so they can easily get replacements from a local hardware store. the dust extractor works pretty well but still, a bit of dust is produced so I still recommend covering whatever is needed in the room that you are working. The dust was kept low enough not to need a mask and the only escape was through the cloth bag extraction bag which blows up like a bagpipe. There was an option of connecting a vacuum cleaner so we could have cut seepage from extraction bag even further.
The LED surrounding lights I was very surprised how many imperfections this highlighted really allowing you to work on rough points. The top handle part is made of the soft rubber material which makes it a bit more comfortable to hold while its vibrarting since it dampens them a bit.
Overall it’s a good size I was able to manoeuvre it around most of the post and all over the hand banister. In terms of sanding it’s great working through the paintwork in no time. It came with an array of sanding pads which were helpful for the job but it appears a universal size as I would able to buy replacements from my
Local Wilco which fit perfect. Overall a really time saver and a good purchase for me.
This drywall sander looks and feels like the real deal, although we haven’t used it in anger yet, with our sanding project still a few weeks away. It came well packaged with only a little bit of assembly required. I think the only bit we struggled with was the extension handle being a little tricky to locate into the end of the sander arm and the spring used to hold the head at 90deg for ceiling work being a little confusing about where it locates (see pics).
We really liked the LED light feature which gave off an impressive amount of light and due to the angle, throwing light perpendicular to the wall, will highlight any high spots or blemishes. The light has its own separate switch on the head so you can switch it on and off independently to the sander.
The built in vacuum has an adjustable valve to adjust the amount of suction produced and the dust is extracted down the handle with an attachment hose and bag being supplied as well. The hose is easily long enough that even if your up a ladder you won’t be lifting the bag up too.
Its quite a noisy beast so ear protection is probably a good idea and has adjustable speeds going from 800 to 1750 rpm as well as a lock on feature so you don’t have the keep the trigger depressed all the time. As I said earlier I haven’t used it in anger yet apart from a quick go on the ceiling in our front room, which you will have to promise not to tell my misses about…
The main shaft breaks in half with a sturdy locking mechanism and the whole thing comes in a handy carry case which is not the heaviest of duty fabrics and it only just fits into but it does the job. We also like the fact that as is is not a brushless motor that it comes with two spare brushes for when these wear out, with a simple unscrew-able point on each side of the motor. All in all a pretty solid looking bit of kit which seems on the cheaper side of things when having a quick skim at what else is available on Amazon.
