I love a fan pretty much any time of the year. This has really impressed me. It’s super quiet, lots of power levels, nice graduation between speeds, has a night mode to dim the light and quieten the beep, a timer so it can go off while you are sleeping, full up down left right oscillation. Can be a little creaky I’ve found when it’s fully extended. Plastic a little flimsy so be careful when you clean i

Looks good – plasticy but with a chunky stand, weighty base and general feel of good quality. It might not be as tall as you expect – about 90cm.

Functionally excellent – the control dial takes a bit of getting used to but I got my head around it after a few days’ fiddling. Fanwise it can oscillate side-to-side and up-and-down, speed can be set in 26 increments. The first six are near-silent yet give good air flow. The fast speeds are impressive but noisy as you’d expect.

Features – The Natural Wind setting, a tree symbol on the control dial, gently varies the fan speed around the speed you set it to – if i’m sat reading with the speed set low it’s like being outside – surprisingly pleasant. Other tricks include turning off the back light on the control wheel (night mode) and an auto switch off after one or two hours which i use on hot nights.

Remote control – this lets it down. It comes without a battery so you’ll need a CR2025 button battery. My remote didn’t work so i contacted Amazon who offered a part-refund ‘to buy a remote’. I contacted duux and they don’t supply any spares at all – they seemed neither bothered nor surprised that it didn’t work. I opted for a part refund rather than disassemble and return. I did get the remote working briefly by packing the battery compartment but it didn’t work for long.

Wifi – I’ve tried a dozen times to link it to my wifi without success – the BT Whole Home dish does appear to be communicating in WPS mode but it never connects.

In conclusion – I love it because it’s a great fan and i’m happy just using the manual control. If you need the remote control or app then be ready to disassemble and return to Amazon for as often as it takes to get one that works.

It’s a very good fan, even at highest settings isn’t loud at all. Shame that this version doesn’t have app control, but I’d rather not spend an extra 100 pounds for that feature. The remote is working and it’s fine as is.

This was more money than I have paid for any fan, but the hot and humid weather meant I needed something that didn’t just push hot air around. I am so happy I splurged on this. It is quiet, does actually cool the air and has a timer, so I have been able to set it and fall asleep . Really quiet, you can hear the TV without increasing the volume and nothing I would change. 5 stars

We bought this because it was quiet and we wanted to use it in the bedroom. Provided the fan isn’t on full speed it difficult to hear it. Functionality is good. We are very pleased with this fa

Purchased 2 , 1 the plug was faulty ended up having to claim on warranty for new plug. They’re really good fans , quite which is great. I would recommend still but advise you check plugs are not over heating

Bought this fan as I wanted a quiet one as main priority. This is very quiet indeed and I Can sleep with this on with no problem. Versatile also as you can have it as a table fan or on a stand . I love it. Some people said it wasn’t quiet but unless you are having it on top speed it’s very quiet.even on top speed it’s alot quieter than my other cheaper fan and more affective

After buying many various fans I can honestly say this is the quietest and best for an English hot summer, thank you

This is a great fan. A little pricey but I think it’s worth the money.

So this is my second DUUX Whisper Flex Ultimate, but I don’t own two…yet. The first one developed a slight clicking nose when it rotated in one specific direction. In fairness, nothing you’d hear over a TV or conversation, but in a quiet bedroom at night, it did become a distraction. Just thought I’d get that out of the way first because otherwise that fan was, and the replacement one is utterly brilliant.

Yep, it’s expensive, but had 70 of RRP at the time of buying – a sum of money that itself can buy you a decent fan. The requirements I had on my initial list were:

    – Quiet Mark certified and verified objectively by reviews for use in a bedroom setting
    – Tall pedestal design
    – Remote control
    – Horizontal oscillation
    – Sleep timer
    – Look nice (subjective of course)

If you take Quiet Mark out of the list, there’s loads of choice. Add it in and the choice reduces significantly. Ultimately, after my research it came down to DUUX, Meaco and Devola brands, specifically the DUUX Whisper, Meaco 1056p and Devola Ultra Quiet. In the end, I’m unashamed to admit I was drawn by styling and a bit of man maths!

I didn’t really like the retro look of the Meaco at all, or the two-tone on the Devola and its round remote. The Whisper range just looks clean and modern, stealing a bit from Google Nest with its round dial on the base. So why didn’t I just go for the cheaper Whisper Fan since it ticks all the boxes? Well, sales at the time meant going up a notch to the Whisper Flex Smart Fan would be a no-brainer, adding voice and app control into the mix, plus it has an even cleaner design with its fixed-width pedestal.

What I had never considered though is portability and battery operation, and the Whisper Flex offers that on top of slightly higher performance. So, in addition to the above list, the Whisper Flex gave me:

    – Smart controls via app and voice using Google or Alexa
    – Vertical oscillation in addition to horizontal
    – Battery operation (at speed 1 and no oscillation is around 12 hours)
    – Height adjustability by removing a section of tubing

    So is it good?

Yep, it more than lives up to its name. It is super quiet on its lowest settings, and even on its highest is a more tolerable noise than even some 500+ Dysons I’ve heard. But, even on its lowest setting it shifts plenty of air – more than enough to keep you refreshed on a warm night in bed while you sleep.

To say it wasn’t a requirement, my only methods of control now are via the app or voice. The remote just stays attached via magnet around the back out of the way, or you can attach it at the front. Also, having the ability to just pick it up off its charger and move it around is a game changer. It almost means I don’t need two, but carrying it up the stairs is always a risk so I can see myself having two of these to cover upstairs and downstairs. It’s that good.

The Fan is hugely effective, very stylish, almost silent and a joy to play with. At an excellent price.
