How to Tell Real Pearls from Imitation Pearls
Surface
Real pearls are only rarely “perfect”. Their outer nacre layer may also reflect light differently on different parts of the pearl.
Imitation pearls are almost always “too perfect” — they look perfectly spherical, they have the same amount of luster on every part of the surface, and show no indents or imperfections.
Magnify the surfaces of the pearls with a magnifier. If they look grainy, the beads are imitation pearls. If they look scaly, maze-like, they are real pearls. (Under 64-power magnification)
Shape
Most real pearls are rarely round. A pearl necklace strand that is perfectly round commands an extremely high value and is very rare.
Touching
Real pearls are cold to touch for the first couple of seconds before warming up against your skin.
Fake plastic pearls have the same temperature as the room temperature and you don’t feel the coolness when you touch them. However, fake ones that are made of glass beads can be cool to touch to start with. But it tends to take them longer to warm up against your skin than real pearls.

Beautiful, bought based on comments & reviews and wasn’t disappointed, figured I’d add to it. Always wanted pearls (husband bought them as a Xmas gift for me- my request) and since I wouldn’t be able to tell real pearls from Fake or how expensive they are I figured I’d start with these.
A very dear friend did an extreme favor for me. I discovered that she owned no pearls, and began looking for an affordable set as a thank you gift. I found these, and decided to risk it. Suffice it so say, they were perfect. The pearls are handknotted, oval in shape, and very well matched in size and color. When I gave them to my friend, she literally cried from happiness. And they looked amazing on her! Very happy with my choice, and the joy they brought.

I was skeptical- but this is a beautiful set- there is weight to it- and it is exactly the right aesthetic for the era I wanted to convey. The 50s.
They are not overly big like costume jewelry, and it’s a 3 piece set. The earrings are perfect as they are studs like I wanted also. It’s beautiful!

Only thing I’d say is be careful when opening the case- the necklace sits down in an indented space- but the bracelet and earrings don’t- they are in a little bag. So the packaging could be better for sure. But over all- it was fine.

These are beautiful. I have just one quibble which has me knocking off a star for what would otherwise be a 5-star review. The earrings are somewhat hefty and the earring back is tiny. When I put the earrings on, my earlobe and the earrings drooped downward. Not a great look. There are abundantly available, wider, flat-backed earring backings that work so much better with earrings like these (fortunately I took some from another pair of earrings I own). The earrings should come with that kind of backing instead of the ones they are using.
I got my order today. Where is the bracelet? The necklace looks beautiful but there is no bracelet at all. I’m not crazy about the earnings because it’s larger than I though and it looks like it’s wobbling on my ear when it’s not. I really hope the seller sees this message and send me my bracelet.

Unfortuneately I had to return them as they are just 18 inches long and look more like a chocker than a necklace, but in all honesty they are really beautiful pearls, just wish they were a bit longer in length

Bought these not knowing what a off-round pearl necklace was. Ended up returning this for another pearl necklace set because these pearls were slightly oval that results a slight jaggy lines when the pearls are hanging on the neck.

Lovely necklace. I thought all pearls were supposed to be around the same size 10mm pearls Which was the reason I bought them but the earrings were the only ones that size. The necklace and bracelet are much smaller. But I still love this set. Came with a box to place jewelry. I like how the bracelet connects to to the necklace to make it longer. My partner ordered this for my 60th on 1st May, absolutely love it, I always wear pearl studs they are so me, bracelet fits could have done with an extra pearl for comfort..
So I love the necklaces and the bracelet. The clasp in the other to is great . I work in construction field safety and I have never once worried about it coming undone. As well as it’s very easy to put on and take off by yourself. He bought me the set.
My only complaint is the pearls used on the ear rings where quite large so the sag a bit off my ears and there could be a better back used on them.

El estuche esta bien, y las letras plateadas se pueden despegar muy facilmente si quieres quitarlas. I usually visit my favorite Jared store to get my wife something on special occasions. So you might say I have a good taste in fine jewelry but with 3 kids who has the time and money for that? I’m also very skeptical of buying jewelry, among other things online because I’m very hands on when it comes to critiquing jewelry. I like to check weight on my hands and look under different lighting angles. This set is a steal!
Got this as a Valentine/birthday present for the wife.She thought it was pricier than it is. I like the weight (you know it’s the real deal) but not to heavy. The clasps and ear mounts are nice silver and very secure, not to mention easy to work with when I put in on for her. All men know how frustrating it is to snap women’s jewelry…almost always ruins the romantic moment of toy know what I mean.

Bought these for my wife for our 30th wedding anniversary – and either she’s a damned good liar (after all these years I think I might know) or she absolutely loved them.
Just one thing to note, the necklace is 19 inches long, and that isn’t necessarily long enough for some people, but the necklace and bracelet have the same clasp so they can be joined together (which in my case was perfect).
As to quality, my wife is really in to her pearls and she thinks I spent quite a lot more than these cost, so I’m very happy with the quality, value and delivery (to my Amazon locker inside 24 hours)
These pearls are outstanding in quality and weight but most important is the first impression simply breath takingly good. My wife has small hands and the bracelet fitted her perfectly, this may be too small for some but use as extender to necklace looks brilliant as well.
The clasp on most items is the hardest part to fit especially bracelets. My wife says its so easy to fit together.

Bought these not knowing what a off-round pearl necklace was. Ended up returning this for another pearl necklace set because these pearls were slightly oval that results a slight jaggy lines when the pearls are hanging on the neck.
Still gave the product 5 stars because I did receive what the seller was advertising in the description. It was my ignorance that led me to purchase the off-round pearls.
I received it very quickly. The set came in a lovely storage box that you normally only get from a very expensive purchase. The pearl set is just gorgeous. I bought it for my Goddaughter for her 16th birthday ! She absolutely loves them. i would advise anyone looking to buy a pearl set to purchase this. You cannot go wrong with it .

So I love the necklaces and the bracelet. The clasp in the other to is great . I work in construction field safety and I have never once worried about it coming undone. As well as it’s very easy to put on and take off by yourself. He bought me the set.
My only complaint is the pearls used on the ear rings where quite large so the sag a bit off my ears and there could be a better back used on them.

La calidad es bastante buena, acorde con el precio como es logico. Los cierres vienen con contraste S925. El estuche esta bien, y las letras plateadas se pueden despegar muy facilmente si quieres quitarlas. En el interior va el collar en el estuche y en una bolsita aterciopelada la pulsera y los pendientes, y una toallita que sera para limpiar las perlas. La tapa del estuche trae una pequea mancha como de tinta, una lastima. En general, muy bien.

Got this as a Valentine/birthday present for the wife.She thought it was pricier than it is. I like the weight (you know it’s the real deal) but not to heavy. The clasps and ear mounts are nice silver and very secure, not to mention easy to work with when I put in on for her. All men know how frustrating it is to snap women’s jewelry…almost always ruins the romantic moment of toy know what I mean.
Liked the equally impressive box it came with that came with a satchel and microfiber cleaning cloth.

Bought these for my wife for our 30th wedding anniversary – and either she’s a damned good liar (after all these years I think I might know) or she absolutely loved them.
Just one thing to note, the necklace is 19 inches long, and that isn’t necessarily long enough for some people, but the necklace and bracelet have the same clasp so they can be joined together (which in my case was perfect).
As to quality, my wife is really in to her pearls and she thinks I spent quite a lot more than these cost, so I’m very happy with the quality, value and delivery (to my Amazon locker inside 24 hours)

The clasp on most items is the hardest part to fit especially bracelets. My wife says its so easy to fit together.
Final view of the product my wife and i have been married for 30 years and i have purchased nearly all her jewellery and her overall verdict “This has been the best present you have ever bought me” cant say more than that!
