Just getting to grips with the technology. Easy to understand once you get to know the right buttons to press. The phone app is very clear and easy to understand. The youtube is very useful and it easy to follow.
Nice clear watch face, when not on the course I have the white strap and it looks good.
This is a good product at the right price.
It does exactly what it says on the tin.
The battery life is fantastic, played 5 rounds and not needed to recharge.
Great product, didn’t disappoint . Apparently golf will. Ever be the same agai
I had previously used a SWAAMI golf watch and after it chucked it within a year, I decided to look for a better Golf watch. I compared all the watches used by compatriots and others at the Golf club . Depending on your wallet and personal preferences the world is your oyster. But Budget and common sense did play a part for me so,…..
I decided to dive in and buy this Garmin S12, it has not let me down, it has picked up and downloaded each course I have played quickly and most importantly it is guaranteed for 2 Years.
Super offerta su Amazon, non potevo non approfittarne! Acquisto pi che consigliato, in campo mai pi senza!!!
Bought to replace similar watch. The strap broke away from watch and couldn’t be replaced bought this one as replacement straps available. Hubby is 1 happy golfer.
Keen Golfer’s leaving gift. Recipient was over the moon and was actually looking into buying one himself so was ecstatic with his gift. Unbeknown to me he has a friend who already had one so it would have been recommended to him little sister I know.
Bought as a replacement for a previous Garmin which had died. This S12 watch has additional features, a better ‘face’ and a better strap. A good value golf watch which I would recommend.
when i received it it seemed a bit cheap and nasty compared with the old model but in fairness it works well and the battery life is very good
Great fit and comfortable on wrist.
Accuracy when on the course is a little off but im not sure if this is the fault of the watch or the app??
No hazard info on the holes so a bit blind when playing new courses.
Easy to use once you get used to it, simple, light, great battery life. One down side, no back light for when you still have it on in the evening.
Simple and straight forward use. Great value for money. Just wanted a pure yardage finder, this is exactly it. No frills.
Playing on a new course for the first time, it may take some time to start up the watch. But afterwards it works fine. Can measure golf shot distances, displays distance to hazards and automatically goes to the next hole without need for manual interference. In short, practical and good watch with plenty of accu life.
awesome watch simple to use , works great with app or without i
Easy to use and accurate assistance for that round of golf. Surprisingly good value. Good robust strap.
Watch arrived promptly as promised. Have played 5 rounds and battery level still shows half charge. Gives me all the detail I want on the golf course.
Use this for golf, loads up new courses in less than a minute yardage is spot on and can scroll through options without my specs, love it..
I purchased this for golf. Does what it says but instructions are useless. For instance does not tell one how to turn from golf ID back to watch. Four buttons but two seem to do same. Got in an amazon sale so well worth money despite issues.
Came on time excellent service!
The came mostly charged so straight away could set it up to the app!
The watch found the course straight away then gave me accurate yardage to the flag!
Played 2 games a week apart and the watch has only just come off the full battery mark! Excellent!
Bought this for my husband, as he’s recently gotten back in to the ‘swing’ of golfing and he’s said this watch has absolutely changed his game. The battery lasts weeks, and it’s highly accurate
I bought a Garmin Approach S12 (white) to my golfing wife. She wanted to get accurate info of distances from the ball to the pin. For now she has no further needs. The delivery was great, as usual. The package arrived even a day before promised. Now after two rounds my wife is absolutely satisfied with the Garmin. The wtach is light (34 g) and even nice looking. The yardages are accurate. GPS is quick in finding the course. A good purchase and an affordable price.
Bought to replace a Garmin S2 golf watch which I’ve had for a good few years, have been ‘nursing’ throughout this golf season and has sadly finally given up the ghost. I was looking for a similar basic golf watch and decided to go for the S12. So far, I’m well impressed, it has all the features I require and some additional ones that I probably wont use. I’ve played one round and like others have said the battery looks like it has plenty of juice remaining and its very simple to set up and operate . Its a bit lighter and looks less chunky than the S2 it replaced, additional bonus is that unlike earlier Garmin golf watches you can easily change the strap if you fancy a different colour or the original snaps. Overall, well impressed and a steal at the current discounted Amazon price.
Easy to use.
Only thing I found was that it can’t be updated through the app. Only by connecting to a computer via usb
Excellent watch, it really does the job. GPS picks up the correct hole each time (which my previous tracker failed to do).
Can’t find the app on my android or Windows devices.
Purchased for 104.99.
On unboxing this, I was surprised at how light it was and I thought the strap felt a bit flimsy. My overall feeling was that I’d expected something that felt a bit more substantial.
However, within a couple of uses, I began to appreciate how good the design is. The weight of both watch and strap are extremely comfortable and I’m not aware of them at all, while swinging a club. That was really important to me as some historic nerve damage has made other watches uncomfortable for me to wear. The flexibility of the strap is great and one very small thing that makes a big difference is the arm (what are they actually called!) that goes through the hole in the strap – it’s secure but doesn’t dig in to you at all.
I also really like the look of it – something that didn’t really bother me as function was more important, but between the look and the weight, I’ve worn it even when not golfing.
In terms of functionality, I’ve yet to let the battery drain, but have run it for about twelve hours (that’s actual golf course use over 5 or 6 days) before recharging.
I replaced my old Garmin G10 (I think it was G10 – the handheld unit) with this. I found that the G10 didn’t last as long, partly due to how easy it was to accidentally switch it on if left attached to my trolley. I guess any watch version will be better in that respect. The S12, while I haven’t timed it, seems to charge very quickly as well.
I currently only really use the basic shot distance and shot measuring features and have no qualms about its accuracy. It has been dead on, every time so far. My G10 was good, but struggled struggled to identify when I’d moved from the 7th to the 8th holes on my course (as the 8th fairway runs past the 7th green) but the S12 has had no such issues. It was a small thing to nudge it on a hole, but it shows the improvement with the S12.
The link up to the App was very quick and easy and it’s useful to pre-load some regular courses, just in case you have any GPS issues, or want to load the course while you’re in the clubhouse. Generally, when I do forget to tell it I’m playing, I’m finding it finds and loads my course within 30 seconds. That’s a massive improvement on the G10.
Overall – I wouldn’t have paid more for one of these (hence striking when the price for this colour (granite blue) dropped) and even once bought, I did wonder if it was a worthwhile upgrade. It certainly was though. It looks and feels great and performs superbly well, so I’d recommend it.
It is easy to use and very easy to read. It is also accurate in giving distances. It is worth its value!
For me this is an ideal golf watch . Others might consider it basic but for the money it does what it says on the tin!! Yardages to greens and hazards are pretty accurate andd it is such a help not having to rely on yardage posts and it is particularly helpful on new courses . Excellent value!!
Would recommend from what they’ve said. Apparently it’s great.
Doesn’t record steps which I find weird as that’s pretty basic and and easy addition to these kind of things? but it’s not for me and they don’t care!
I am a new golfer and it’s is perfect for my needs without any subscription or additional gadgets. My husband has a very expensive golf watch and these measurements are a match for his watch. Very light and not too big for a woman but big enough to see the screen clearly. Functions are very easy to use
Works great on the course and the hazard distances a real bonus. Not over complicated, perfect for the golfer who needs front middle back and isn’t bothered to the mm
This was really good value, arrived on time also. After the initial question marks above my head and the first time I used it I’ve found that it’s really good and no complaints. Still doesn’t make me a better golfer though and I don’t have as many excuses to rely on.
Very easy to use. Clear range info displayed as front , middle and rear of green. Automatically adjusts to next hole. Does keep score but i dont use this function. The app is average to use as it takes to long to use slowing down play. The are better apps for scoring and rabge info.
Battery life is good easily get 4 or more rounds from one charge.
Hesitated for a while to buy an S12 and now wish I bought it earlier. Haven,t found a course yet that isn,t catered for. What a fab device this is.
Excellent piece of kit.
Simple to use … Gives Front, Middle, Back of the Green distances, that’s what most Golfers want / need,
Battery seems to last for ages.
At approx. 100 GBP it’s a bargin.
Very pleased with the Garmin S12 Does everything I want and great battery life.
I purchased this watch based on the reviews I had seen. Having put it through a simulation of 9 holes I came to the conclusion that it was a good starter tool, but for me I would be better spending a little more money and getting one that has more features and it’s in colour. The S42 hits the spot for me. Paul H.
When I downloaded the app it told me to add a PIN, usually 0000 or 1234, this is rubbish. A number will appear on your watch for about 30 seconds, if you put in this number and tick the boxes it will pair otherwise you start again. Nightmare. It took me half an hour but managed eventually. No clues in instructions (useless as usual in any of these sorts of product).
Good luck.
This watch does what is designed for, no frills, no hassle, good job.
It has helped my game significantly by reducing the guesswork of my shot distance.
The best one I have had so far. Finds the courses quickly and sets at the tee you are playing from. Battery life is excellent, would definitely recommend.
Great upgrade on my old Garmin. Got 8 full 18 holes before charging.
Fast Sattelite lock on and accurate.
Don’t need anything else
Not the most sophisticated on the market, neither is my golf of the best.
Do we fitbtogethervwuitecwell!!!’
I had the G3 which basically come to the end of life went looking for new model, read right ups on this one, and purchased. It meets all my needs its light weight, has good GPS response, easy menu, and the use of buttons good happy custome
i bought this as a present and they seem happy with i
I bought this as a birthday present for my husband. He loves it! It is just what he wanted.
Dead good and simple to use. Does exactly what you want it to do.
This watch has been superb, starts the GPS quickly so no waiting and has an excellent battery life. If you want to see the distance left to greens and hazards quickly then I highly recommend it. It also has lots of features like being able to move the pin on the green and measure your shots, all done without having complicated menus. I was sceptical especially at the price offered but I would not want to be without it now.
Only criticism I have is that some of the display is very small.
I was taking my time to buy a range finder watch, looking at reviews, watching videos, reading articles and couldnt make my mind up.
Having done all the research i could i finally bought the s12. First thing you will notice is how light it is and you dont even realise you are wearing a watch so it does not affect your swing at all.
The battery life is astounding, ive had the watch for 2/3 weeks now and used it for 6 rounds of golf, i havent even charged it once and it still has around 1/2 life left.
The buttons take a minute or two to get used to but once you know which does what its idiot proof.
Quickly adding your score at the end of each hole. The range finder itself is spot on for distance, so much so in fact i am tempted to buy the club adapters to start compiling more data.
If you are like me as hesitating about buying this, id recommend just doing it.
It makes the world of difference to a novice high handicapper like myself.
Took a while to figure out, could do with better instructions. But now got to grips
I have been looking quite a while for a golf watch as a lot of people now are starting to use them. There’s so many to pick from at the moment looking at on reviews as well and a lot of people are going for the Garmin. I didn’t see the point in getting a coloured one. As I’m pretty new to this so I’ve got the g12. Very impressed. Brilliant price and I tried it the weekend and well it new exactly where I was on the course. GPS picked up very quick. I was very impressed with all of it. Highly recommended. You can sink it to your phone. It can count your steps as well. Put your score in. The days of a pencil and a card are gone. It goes straight to your phone now onto a big database.
The S12 is very accurate with distance and combined with the mobile app and features on watch is a great addition to any golfers tool box. Features include, hazards, lay-up distances, score card and more. Battery life is excellent and watch is light weight and stylish so doesn’t interfere with your game. 10/10
Great watch easy to use and pair up on your phone
This watch does exactly what you need. Not too much fuss but just enough information you will need on the course
Bought as a present and found to be accurate on all courses I’ve used it on takes a little time to become conversant with the menus and operation it has taken the guesswork out of distance required for front centre and back of gree
Very comfortable on and very easy to use, battery life is excellent easy use and very accurate
Bought as a gift for my dad, works really well, and I might buy myself one
I tried this out on a totally new course I had never played before. I found that the readings were accurate especially for second (or 5th!] shots. I wear a Fitbit so I held the watch in my hand and found that I could operate the buttons easily.
Really good, a little confusing to operate at first but gives really good information. Let’s you know distances of hazards ad well as to the front, middle and back of the green and let’s you log all your scores which you can then see on your phone on the Garmin App. Great product but remember, you still have to hit the ball yourself and that is where the trouble starts
I tried various mobile golf apps to know distance to green etc. and to keep score, but found it annoying to take mobile out of the pocket and unlock it, lock it after use at every shot.
This golf watch takes away all that pain. Not top of the class, but really good value for money. Has built-in interface to Garmin golf app, which miantains scores etc. Good buy if you want just the basic essential features.
Very good value, and display is clear, but despite selecting larger text display, only the main features are “enlarged” – other text is illegible.
This is my second Garmin .
An improved model which is easy to work and accurate
As a relative newbie to golf playing 1 year without a GPS watch on a few courses, I don’t know why I went so long without one. The S12 is a gem! Covers a host of courses and coaches you around the course in terms of distance, bunkers and lay-up options. In addition to tracking your score (by you selecting your shots after each hole) and providing the scorecard which then syncs to the user-friendly and easy to use garmin golf app.
An essential piece of kit for rounds of golf!
I wanted a golf watch that told me in the simplest way possible where the hazards were and how far away I am from the green front/middle/back that is easy to set up. This is exactly what I want from a GPS device… but if you want more… there is an App.
Purchased it because it was the best priced range finder watch on the market & was also on offer at 109 at Xmas .
I bought this for my 77 year old father so it’s way to technical for him but he only uses it for the range finder anyway.
His last one was a garmin but the one piece strap broke and couldn’t be replaced.
The battery would last at minimum of 3 rounds possibly 4 although he always turns it off between rounds as he doesn’t use it as a watch.
The display is very easy to read.
If you’re into tech it can interact with an app on your mobile phone, recording current and previous rounds of golf, clubs used etc.
One thing I find strange & don’t like, when charging with the supplied charger the screen only shows its charging but with no bars to let you know when it’s charged.
However, if plugged into a computer to charge, it shows a larger battery icon & battery charge state bar. Strange!
Superb upgrade from my S2. Love the additional features, not used all of them yet. My best golfing freind.
Really good watch .Gives hazard yardages clearly ,easy to use ,great backup with rangefinder ,Just what i wanted .
Bought it for my husband as a present. He already used it and he loved it. Very good watch.
Easy to use, accurate, finds different courses with ease. Definitely recommend it.
Not used yet as Xmas present but seen it in use by a friend.
Bought one for my brother in law now husband wants one
The watch is light weight which is good for lady and the display is crystal clear.
The S2 was fine until it struggled to last a full round of golf.
To be fair I’ve had it a few years so no complaints.
This watch has so far lasted 6 days and 3 full rounds and is still showing over half a battery.
I intend using it until it runs out just to see its full limit before charging again.
Great to be able to record each hole and review on the Garmin app later, plus edit if necessary.
Only moan – no light switch like the S2 had – however only a minor niggle.
I’ll update when I finally need to charge it up.
Update – 5 games in 2 weeks – still half a battery showing……what a brilliant watch!
Final update – ok, 7 games and over 2 weeks – finally showing just over a quarter battery.
Time to recharge!
Best golf watch I’ve owned (3rd) light to wear and accurate
Great watch, easy to use with really good distance accuracy
I needed to replace my old S2 watch which was not recharging. Rather than try and have it repaired I bought the S12. The display is clear and it is less bulky. How long the battery lasts is still to be seen.
I like the idea of updating via my phone.
Gives us golfers all the information we require 99% of the time plus a long life battery so no need to recharge after just 1 round. It’s light weight and non bulky so doesn’t effect your swing, plus its an attractive durable time and date watch when you’re not golfing, again with a long life battery. At less than 200 I think it’s great value and I would recommend to all who want an accurate no frills golf watch.
Mark
Easy to use and very good battery life, it does take several minutes to find the course and unsure how long the strap will last.
Great addition to your shot accuracy. Easy to wear. Excellent! TG
A very good golf watch but I would like a better indication when charging and when it is full.
I bought this from my club’s pro shop 8 days ago and charged it fully. I have played 4 rounds of golf since without further charging, have not turned it off between rounds, and the battery indicator still shows around 1/2 full.
It picks up the satellites much more quickly than my old S1 or Bushnell neo ion and seems to be very accurate in terms of yardages. There are around 8 pin positions to choose from on each green, so unless you are a tour pro who needs the yardage to within about a yard, it is more than sufficient. It also picks up BST from the satellites, unlike the Bushnell, which I had to use on a manual time setting.
The display is very clear in any lighting conditions from bright sunlight to pitch black and the menu is simple to use as are the functions such as score entry and shot measuring. I haven’t really used the app fully yet but there appears to be a fair amount of extra functionality, and connecting/syncing could not be easier.
The strap is no longer integrated into the watch face as it was on the S1, so if it breaks a replacement costs around 14 rather than having to send it back and pay around 80.
All-in-all a fantastic watch, as long as you are not fussed about a colour screen, which drains the battery more quickly and can be more difficult to see in bright sunlight. I think I might invest in some CT10 shot trackers next.
Only used once but accurate and easy to use. Charged once 3 days ago and then used today for a round of golf and still plenty of battery life left.
Looks good and a vast improvement on my previous Garmin golf watch. So easy to switch from one screen to another and I was amazed how much battery life was left after my first round wearing it. I recommend this product , you will not be disappointed!
