I use the fly papers in the kitchen, they are not exactly pretty but they catch the flys. I don’t use sprays as I have 2 dogs. The fly papers are perfectly safe for the dogs

We have recently moved to the country and I am amazed at the sheer number of flies that get into the house through open doors and windows., especially in the summer months that we have so far been here. These fly strips are a must, we have them hanging up near each front and back door and near the kitchen too. They work well.

Good old fashioned sticky strips like my Gran used to use. Even good for keeping children away if you hang near the cupboard where you keep the chocolate bars.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersI don’t like flies. Inherently I’m not a card-carrying member of the Flies fan club. Flies outside, doing their fly’y thing, fine by me. Come into my kitchen and you’re going to meet Mr Teat Owl. Except said Owl is a bit rubbish at killing flies, but very good at smashing other stuff around the kitchen work surface.
So I resorted to playing the long game. A series of sticky adornments hanging from the ceiling, calling to the little blighters like a Siren-esque temptress. Within minutes the first unfortunate fellow fell foul of my trap. More followed, oblivious to the dying screams of the rest of their micro-squadron. It transpired that the tape doesn’t dry out, and keeps on doing its evil work until you walk into it and are smeared with the catch of previous days/weeks. You will stick to these papers just as effectively as any wingd creature – ask me how I know…
I also felt bad seeing them struggle for many hours as their life force slowly ebbed away, the Teat Owl was always a quicker despatcher of flies. Still, they came into MY kitchen and made maggots in MY bin!

    Note to the cautious, the drawing pins supplied are pretty much a single-use version. Once you need to move the fly-killing decoration they won’t work a second time. Of course, you won’t need them when you’re removing it from your hair…{ask me how I know}

Hung in kitchen in various places. Much more affective than the fly zapper we have for the annoying type of fly that buzzes on and off your food, around your head and seems to invite all their mates in for the same kind of partywith the addition of these strips, the fly party didn’t end well for many of the guests!

There isn’t much to say about these other than they just work.

We’ve tried every method we could find to get rid of flies and finally found that a combination of these traps with a can of Raid is the perfect match. They attract flies really well and make sure they stick once they land. We will easily fill one of these in two days so the fact you get so many in a pack is really good value.

If you want to get rid of flies and have a place to hang these in a ‘high fly traffic’ area then absolutely pick them up.

Found the red loop sometimes would break off completely and couldnt then hang it up. It is definitely super sticky so be careful putting them up. It took a few days before the flies (and mosquitos surprisingly) to start landing on it, as soon as the first few got stuck the rest pretty much followed suit pretry quick. So many in a pack that I am ready for the next few summers.

We are currently having a plague of fruit flies, and while I haven’t found the source yet, these strips are effective in catching ones flying around. Ghoulishly fascinating to see how many are caught each day! They are very sticky, so have to be handled carefully – avoid getting them near soft furnishings or delicate surfaces.

I won’t post any gross photos of all the lives I’ve ended on the sticky trap I’ve set up (although it is strangely satisfying…I wonder what that says about me), but safe to say, these do work! I was happy with the price although I think this is like a 20 year supply. Anyway, would I buy again? Sure, if I ever run out. Would I recommend? Yes! I have had a consistent problem with fungas gnats of late due to the mini garden centre I seem to have going on in my house and these strips (along with drying out the soil) are a great weapon in my arsenal and save the bones in my hands from slapping all those pesky gnats.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersThe price is decent and the effectiveness of these are great, Had 3 weeks away from home but forgot to empty a trash bag which had left over food products and other items which rot. Lets just say when i got home with it being closed off for the whole period with heating turning on and off. It was a complete disaster when i walked in, with thousands of flies all over my home. I used 32 of these strips plus 2 cans of fly killer. Combined was brilliant, Now the strips themselves are incredibly sticky which is great for anything landing on them but using the cord to extend the tape from the tube can sometimes cause the cord to fail. For 7quid for 16 on a smaller scale than what i had to do deal with. These would work wonders. I was dealing with meat flies but so many fruit flies and it caught so many. took around 48 hours to clear the house completely using a combination of strips + cans. If for what ever reason i needed some more of these i wouldn’t hesitate.

Sometimes (most times) the old ways are the best. A bit sticky to handle but that’s the point, they’re sticky. 1 string broke off.
1 tube came away prematurely but the majority work fine.
Put 3 up and within minutes we had caught some flies. I left 1 hanging in an out building and after a month it was absolutely covered. Not the prettiest of designs but this is definitely function over form. They are so efficient you won’t need to hang them for long if looks worry you.

They are good at reducing the number of flies but not the permanent solution cause these flies leave their eggs on the plant soil. The fly papers came in a neat plastic pouch, which is useful for storage. Each one had its own drawing pin (thumb tack) which made it easy to hang the papers from wooden beams. Starting to extract the papers from the cases was sometimes fiddly (they weren’t all the same) and could make your fingers sticky. Once set up the papers did not smell nor do anything to positively attract the flies, they simply caught what ever landed on them. Hanging them near a light resulted in many flies and some wasps being caught. Disposal was then simply a matter of unhooking the loop at the top of the paper from the drawing pin.

Got these put up in my bunny area as I store my bin bags on a table until bin day and didn’t want to use a spray but there were a couple of annoying flies and the spiders could only do so much.
Within 5 minutes of putting two up there were half a dozen flies stuck to them. I hadn’t even realised there were that many flies around. They’ve been up a few days and have caught a fair few flies each, and there are none around the bins or the bunnies.

Only problem I had was when moving a ladder to fix a light I forgot one was nearby and bumped it, it stuck to the ladder and pulled out of the roof so I carefully removed it, climbed up to put it back, but with it being wound out it was incredibly hard and ended up stuck to my hand, sleeve and hair (thankfully a non fly covered part) and not pinning back into the wooden roof. With some patience and a new drawing pin, it’s back up now, but wow, it’s really sticky stuff. Great value and will last a while out there till I get a proper fly zapper in the summer.

Sticky as hell, but didn’t attract flies at all. It seems the little pests only get caught if they happen to land on the paper buy accident. This situation could be improved by filling the dangling container with apple vinegar, but that doesn’t really make up for the fact that the product does not conform to its description.

Or maybe I am simply playing host to a special species of fruit fly.

This set arrived simply packed and in perfect condition.

Houses around here all seem to have fly problems, either because they’re just popular or because they’re old, or because of the nearby canal.
We’ve tried all sorts but old fashioned fly papers are the most effective.

This set has plenty in, and they’re basic generic papers. Not the best we’ve had but certainly not the worst.
The main issue is trying to unroll them without it all going terribly wrong.
Either the paper breaks leaving a teeny tiny short strip.
Or it sticks to absolutely everything except where it’s meant to go.
Once in place they’re mostly effective and don’t have that weird strong smell.

    I will be ordering more.
Thanks for reading, I hope you find this review helpful.

We had little bother with flies this year till the end of August. We hung these up and they worked once the bottom got full of flies! They were obsessed with the non sticky yellow tube.

Couldn’t believe how well these worked! Within a few hours they had already caught several flies. Only had to leave them hanging for two days and the house was pretty much rid of flies except for a few that seemed to evade the strips.

You have to be patient when pulling the tape out of the tube, too quick and it just tears. The glue is very sticky so probably best to wear gloves when handling. May seem a little obvious but found the strips worked best where the flies congregate (mostly at the windows in our home) or in walkways, doorways. Just don’t forget you’ve hung it there haha

I’m pleased with this purchase (a) because they catch the flies and (b) because this was a cheap option.

Once the fly lands on the paper they can’t get away and very quickly die. We live in the country now and so have more flies around than when we lived in London. This is just a fact of rural life. However, the flies were becoming a real nuisance but each fly paper strip will catch dozens of flies before you need to throw it away and put a new one up. Job done!

Flies drive me crazy – I have lots of food covers etc, but even so the disgusting creatures buzz about in the house constantly during the summer – the best solution is these fly papers. The glue is fruit based, non toxic and very strong, and one hung in the kitchen caught six flies in half an hour. I simply take it down and drop it into the dustbin, and hang a fresh one. They are so cheap – and so much better than toxic sprays and the blue light gadgets which evidently explode the fly all over the room!

Like a lot of people in the UK this summer, my house has been plagued with flies – slightly exacerbated in my area due to the bin men going on strike and having a big guinea pig hutch by the back door, which we have had open a lot to let some air into the house.

I’m currently doing a much-needed decoration of my old dining room/now home office and noticed a little gang of them like to use my chrome Sputnik light as their club house (I like to imagine much like the characters in the Michael Jackson video ‘Beat It’ although no shivs were detected). Their resulting mess was marking the chrome. Now, I’m not usually one to kill little creatures (actually I’m a soft wuss in that respect, I have a crisis every time I step on a snail!) but I am not having them damaging my lovely light.

I bought these fly papers after looking at several options – mainly due to the cheap price, I must admit, my train of thinking that if they didn’t work, I wasn’t much out of pocket. I hung a couple of strips from the light itself and in less than 24 hours, the fly gang have all met their untimely demise. It’s even caught some mozzies and fruit flies I didn’t realise had also taken up residence.

Four stars though as obviously they are not aesthetically pleasing. I’ve hung two more over my kitchen bin and the oven to catch anything in the kitchen but not so successful – so it may be a case that you need to place these where the flies actively hang out. Also, it’s not been intrusive to life in the house to hang these from the light fitting right now due to me decorating but it would be normally. Luckily I’m not a tall person!

    Did The Job!

Bought this for my dad who kept complaining about flies on one hand, and sprays to remove flies. Perfect solution for British summers that get humid and nasty, especially when you’re home due to lock down. It’s a smart contraption. But bare in mind:

    – Not the most appealing thing to look at. It is a tape hanging with flies stuck on it. At your own risk of puking if you place near or kitchen. I nearly did when I came to see my father had put it in the dining area. . However, that is a testimony to its ability to work
    – At first, it is fiddly, sticky and difficult to place in the ceiling but persist and find alternative ways. I hanged it on light pendants.

These fly traps are very sticky! Any files which come into contact will have no chance of becoming unstuck.

They’re a bit fiddly to unwind without getting sticky fingers but easy enough to clean off.

Flies aren’t attracted to these, it’s purely that they’re sticky and reliant on a fly coming into contact.

They don’t look the best but do help to some extent.

Over all they work well, it would be good if flies where attracted to it some how rather than relying on luck that they hit it.

Does what it says on the tube but a bit fiddly to get out of the tube. Once in place it works really well, think it must have some sort of toxin on it cos those flies that can get off there do die elsewhere. So an all round win. My only problem was getting it to unroll out of the tube and not getting stuck to hell in the process. I’ve used 5 of these now and ended up with really sticky fingers, im not put off by this as the end product does what it says it will do. These are a lot thicker than others I’ve used and do stay in one length as your making your sticky way to unrolling it.

Just give it a bit of time and just one strip has effectively cleared the problem up! One tip tho – it really is sticky so be careful when extracting the paper – but it really does it’s job thereafter! 🙂

Golden Review Award: 88 From Our UsersUsed this to capture fruit flies/gnats. Very effective and satisfying, although nasty! I saw a couple flies touch it and they didn’t stand a chance, it’s so sticky. I caught so many after a couple days, I threw the strips out and hung new ones. I had no idea there were that many flies in my home. Pull out of the canisters very slowly as the strips can tear if you tug too fast. I hope I don’t have to buy more but will buy them again if I ever need to.

    Disgustingly satisfying and efficie

I live on a farm and flies are always an issue in the summer, these caught hundreds upon hundreds for me and kept me sane. Only down side is if you aren’t super careful with opening them they will tear and rip. Also some wasn’t as sticky as others, but for the amount you receive for the price i think they are worth it, recommend.

Golden Review Award: 55 From Our UsersThese don’t smell of anything in particular. They do a very good job of trapping and killing flies but the downside is their appearance as they are sticky strips, which end up dotted completely with dead flies and the temptation is to keep replacing them so as not to be looking at a fly graveyard. That said they are super effective. Just don’t look great in a kitchen!

Bit expensive for what they are. Only work if they’re placed in a high fly traffic area (often the middle of the room.) pain to get out of hair or fur (use oil) and pretty unsightly but that’s not an issue with this brand specifically. Lost one start because some of the loops you’re meant to hang it by come off.

Golden Review Award: 66 From Our UsersWe found that a number of new house plants were infested with fungus gnats and before we realised what was going on they had spread to other house plants and we would see flies in most rooms of the house. We used this flypaper in conjunction with Neudorff Plant Flycatchers and fly spray applied directly to the soil of the plants.

Over the course of about 6-8 weeks each roll of flypaper we had hung up captured about 80 -100 of the annoying creatures and eventually there was no sign of fungus gnats in the house.
