Quite noisy, and not as cold as I had hoped
Product works fantastically, it’s quite loud but that’s expected as it has a compressor in it.
Really helped during the heatwave.
The sleep mode is only 7 hours long which is not long enough, so if you put it into sleep mode at 10pm it will return to normal mode at 5am, which is loud and will instantly wake you.
It’s good quality AC unit. Very powerful and cool down room quickly. It’s noisy but it’s not kind of noise which disturbs the sleep. I am happy with my purchase. Window kit supplied with it is not suitable for windows in UK.
For the price and size I’d expect this to do a better job of cooling a average sized bedroom.
Noise level is pretty loud too!
Excellent Mobile Aircon lessens the suffering of recent Heat Wave. Not as powerful as a proper wall mounted Aircon. Nevertheless I am so glad that i bought this unit for my bed room. Please buy the one which can provide as highest BTU as possible because the heat exhaust pipe is quite hot and the air intake is above the exhaust pipe and the hot air is sucked into the Aircon defeating the purpose of cooling the air. Not sure why the designer has not thought about this vital component of the system. Not sure whether the Aircon unit is as close as to the curtain possible and the heat exhaust pipe outlet is as further away as possible from the air inlet may help. Nevertheless I have seen many of these mobile Aircon units exactly to mine in the hospital i work. The cooling power is the same as mine. The Aircon engineer tried to use the heat protective layer on top of exhaust pipe and the heat exhaust pipe outlet is far away from the air inlet grill. That leads me to believe that my bedroom mobile Aircon set up is not much different to the ones which are professionally installed by the rental company for our hospital for this heat wave. The mobile Aircon unit is not perfect but I don’t want to endure this heat wave without this Aircon. Fan noise is okay similar to the wall mounted domestic Aircon unit. ( I don’t mean Central Aircon units in the Cinema Hall or Department Store or Supermarket etc.) This particular Aircon model is 3in 1 combine unit for Dehumidifier plus Heater for winter months plus Aircon for Summer months. Beware that Aircon is different from a cheaper air cooler where you have to put an ice in the chamber where some merchants falsely sell as aircon. This unit is a genuine air con where condenser unit is inside like a Fridge Freezer. The unit freshens tge room air and Dehumidifies and there is a water outlet pipe where you need a decent size bucket to collect the water. Cool air 17’C maximum temperature is blown out by a fan into the atmosphere and the heat ir hot air is blown out through the exhaust outlet pipe. Heat exchange system. Clever unit but not perfect. But I need this unit for my own comfort. Hope this review helps to make up your mind.
I wasn’t expecting much out of a portable air conditioner, but I was surprised to see how well it is working.
Cools the room immediately, and even in the greatest heatwave. I didn’t even need to keep it running. The room stayed cold hours later.
Definitely does the job.
The different fan speeds seen to make very little difference. There’s not really a quiet setting, so it’s pretty noisy. But not so much that it would keep me awake if it was really needed overnight.
The window kit is a bit useless for typical UK style windows that hinge outwards. It’s designed for sliding windows, which I don’t have. There are other window kits available online though that look like they might be compatible. I haven’t needed the window kit so far, as I just poke the exhaust hose out the window, but appreciate that’s not the most energy efficient so others may want a better solution – as will I longer term.
