Ok so first things first its fast compared to my old charger. Its very smooth and battery’s seem to come out with ease but somehow feel very secure. The ability to test your battery’s is amazing I hope this will fight off the ever growing scam of fake battery’s I will be using this feature in the future. Made of plastic but feels good quality the price feels alot but you won’t be disappointed I assure you. Feels good to buy something that does what it says for a change.
No more mystery! Now I can see if my batteries are dead or just need refreshing. Much cheaper than the al
This is a big charger!
Security/authentication code passed on the XTAR.cc web site, so genuine product.
My older 18650 batteries all meet their stated charging capacity.
Not one of the newer batteries achieves more than 60% of the stated capacity.
This says more about the pour state of the new batteries, but now I can see where the faults are.
One star off for the time being as it is very expensive.
Lets see how my opinion changes in a few months time of prolonged use.
Il est parfait, rapide et fiable et n’abime pas les accus contrairement d’autres chargeurs.
This is a great charger loaded with features, although it has to be said that navigating these features can be a little complex.
That being said, I personally swear by XTAR products. I have had a VC4 charger for years and it has never let me down. I also tried another brand that destroyed batteries so went back to XTAR. I would also like to say that in the rare cases that there has been an issue, the customer support is second to none. They really have been superb. So long story short, if you want a reliable product with great support then look no furthur than XTAR. You wont be disappointed.
Je cherchais un chargeur performant pour mes batteries et celui l est trs complet. Par contre la prise du transformateur 220V est au format UK. Dommage car il est disponible en version EU.
it’s the best battery charger money can buy.I now have two
Does not seem to have a adischarge before recharge function.
Good build quality. I use it for charging and testing18650 batteries and does a good job of that. The display is very clear and bright. I like that I can switch off the audible alerts as I usually charge my batteries over night. The main reason I purchase it is to verify my battery capacities are correct as there is a lot of fake ones about. I like that I can check the charger is genuine as it comes with a scratch code on to box with I can verify on the manufacturer’s web site.
What a sick charger with the probes makes any ones room into a professional test center love i
Having read a number of reviews online I took the plunge and bought this to analyse, refresh and charge NiMH batteries, mainly aa but also a few aaa, C and D cells. The only limiting factor for some might be that you can only charge a maximum of 2 C or D cells at 2A at any one time; possibly a problem if you have a number of very high capacity cells to charge, although this is stated clearly in the product information. I was so impressed by its performance that I bought a second one.
This is my 3rd XTAR unit, (you buy one, you will logically buy more because they are reliable & don’t run hot) ..if you value your rechargeables you tend to aim high & buy a xtar. .ALL work well & are used nigh on daily …they excel in what they do which is why having used other brands & been disappointed at cooked battery scenarios, I simply place my faith in XTAR based on excellent performance & reviews from place like “candlepower forums” *a site which brings, chargers, battery cells & led torches / headlamps into a grand information grab & learning point.
My first unit was a VC4 plus (terrific, still in daily use 2 years later) XTAR VC4 LCD Display Battery Charger Charge Li-ion and Ni-MH batteries at the same time for 3.6V/3.7V Li-ion/IMR/INR/ICR 10440 14500 18350 18500 18650 18700 20700 21700 22650 25500 26650 32650 1.2V Ni-MH/Ni-CD AAAA / AAA / AA / A / SC / C / D
Secondly A VC2 Plus XTAR MASTER VC2 PLUS Battery Charger LCD Display Countdown Timer Function USB 2-slot Battery Charger, Fit for 10440 to 26650 3.6V/3.7V Li-ion and Ni-MH/ Ni-CD Batteries, with BanTac Battery Case
(where it differs is the 2 bays, & the fact that it gives you an estimate of % full & time left… Again brilliant kit, I found my daughter had a cruddy charger hooked in which was “scorchio” hot & damaging batteries, so gave her the smaller unit, as it is perfect for kids with xbox so they can charge “everything” including fast charging those depleted controller batteries, & the bonus is that it hooks up via USB to the xbox 1S (rear) & will draw from the residual standby power whether the unit is on or off…
SO, why do I need the Dragon? ..well the price at time of purchase was 55 delivered which is about 22 under normal price elsewhere..
This unit Is handy for folk who “use” ..obtain, buy in lots of batteries for making packs out of (think tesla power wall, bike batteries etc & can be refreshed, tested for resistance to match into bigger packs / expell the faulty / going faulty unit… amongst other things.
The Dragons built in memory for tests is handy too, keeping a track on those batch test numbers so you have less stopping & starting..
The Dragon, as per other XTAR units will charge a combination of Li-ion, Ni-Mh, & Ni-Cad batteries …this big boy can take up to 4 D cell size units, which in an age where the Li-ion is more the norm than Ni-Mh future proofs you, as well as being proven quality which is much copied (not always successfully) by others..
Minimal buttons = simplicity, cycle through choices of charging, (lower & slower is better for longevity, but a variety of speeds is available ..& so darn handy! ..you can charge at 1 Amp all day should you need to batch charge AA cells for instance.
Displaying both “fill percentage” & mAh going into the battery at the same time (large screen) it has pretty much everything, is familiar to pre-existing xtar users & simple for new users alike.
The most “difficult” bit to get your head around is using the probes, …& that takes a fraction of a second, to initiate the measurement simply cross the probe tines & the dragon will respond changing its setting on the display, thereafter simply measure your battery via the normal means of + to + & – to – = your reading.
Having just got this I’m analysing a mid priced camping lantern / power-bank which I was of the opinion pulled from one side unevenly based on experience elsewhere & time to charge, by testing the battery resitance etc & charging side by side I’ve now seen there is a mere 3mAh difference which is reassuring with regards to battery longevity.
Recommend you find a non tech based video review before buying, but this is a great unit that should give you a lot more confidence in your battery stock as to whether you’ve wrecked it or not / age wear & tear, dodgy cells, capacitance & a raft of other stuff you didn’t even begin to think about.
Also ideal for vapers (not my purpose) but ..they tend to use a lot of 3.7 volt li-ion rechargeables to power their kit.
Legitimate no copies or clones this just passed the authentication on xtar’s site and awesome price comes as the full ki
