So far so good.
Is a good size for its price, I just wanted a basic microwave without a load of features that I’d never use.
Very happy so fa
Great item will be getting another one at some pou
My new one is identical in every way and it is the easiest to use microwave that I I have ever had. My new one now has a label just inside the door which reminds me that this is an 800 powered device. This is so useful because so much food packaging bears instructions for different powered microwaves and I used to get confused through inability to remember what power the microwave has. This is one of the best items that I have ever bought from Amazon.
lovely looking microwave easy to use bought as replacement quick delivery
This is a very nice microwave. Very good quality and lasted me several years. I think it wouldve lasted me longer but i had to leave it when i moved out of my dorms.
Would definitely recommend though im not sure id pay 100 for it (ie current asking price) but when i bought was definitely good value

Lovely looking microwave very stylish.
Very easy to use. No Manuel reading necessary
This microwave is great I recommend it if your looking for a microwave.
If you look closely paint on front left inside isn’t flat it is bubbled before use. Will this affect its operation? Time will tell. Not happy you can’t just set a time then press go it should assume you need 100% without a quiz. Sent this to seller. If the paint bubbles are an issue it’s going back.
we were pleased with the last model so ordered the same
as i said top marks wasy uses and drive who delived it very helpful for old age and disabled top mark for careing as well very happy thank you amazo
Having used several microwave oven brands for many years, this is the best for its simplicity to use.
Brilliant to use.One of the best I’ve used Thanks

I bought this microwave in May 2017 and it’s still going strong. I can’t comment on the rust that other people have experienced as so far, this microwave hasn’t skipped a beat. There’s no signs of rust, the buttons and the dial all still work perfectly and this thing is used pretty much every day. Getting any appliance for a reasonable price that lasts as long as this has is difficult at the best of times, but even with the negative reviews, I wouldn’t hesitate to get another if I ever needed to!

This is the second one of these my wife & I have bought.
We were so impressed with the first one, which we’ve had for 5 years now, without any issues whatsoever, that we purchased the most recent one for our Son, who thinks it’s perfect for every day use.
Purchased May 2016 and rust on the front panel has been there for a while. I only use the microwave for heating porridge, soup, tea etc. I have a nice oven for anything else. For the last few weeks it’s started playing up. Tried cooking soup , porridge etc and everything just explodes all over the inside of the microwave and the food is tepid.
So I completed a lacerating review and posted it. Blamed it all on the Microwave and Russell Hobbs.
Then I thought it would be a blindingly good idea to read the manual. Which talks endlessly about maintenance. Page 13 talks about keeping the wave-guide cover clean. So I cleaned it and it works a treat again. Fingers crossed for the future. Replacement guides now ordered from amazon and a mental note made to clean the inside of the microwave now and again in future.
So remember to read the manual and follow the advice. Look after the microwave and it will look after you for a bit longer than otherwise.

The first one that we purchased lasted for 3 years. We were pleased with the ease of use and other aspects so bought the same thing again.

It is a good item I received from the seller . It was delivered in good condition and it meets my expectations.
We were looking for just a microwave cooker, no fancy features like grills, ovens etc … this one fits the bill. It is 23L in volume, the turntable just big enough for our plate, easy to use, just what we were looking for.

This is a great product. I didn’t want it as a grill or an oven and it fits the bill perfectly.
Very easy instructions and is totally reliable. My only criticism, and its a very small one is that the mirror door does not let you see the cooking process. But the timing results are perfect.

It’s for domestic use to replace my old one. Since it’s early delivery, it’s been serving the purpose of which it was purchased. It’s easy to operate. Apart from the door that’s not as solid as my old one, it looks okay. For durability, time will tell.

Bought this exact same item 4 years ago. My daughters microwave unfortunately caught fire couple days ago (scary for her), so very wary of purchasing replacement. I suggested having mine and I would purchase new one. Having trolled through all contenders finally sourced the same microwave again and I have not been disappointed. Looks great very stylish and fulfils all my requirements brilliantly.

I was a little worried about the mirror finish in a kitchen, i could imagine lots of finger prints etc, you do get them but this wipes clean so isn’t like some other products I’ve had with uncleanable parts. The space inside is more than big enough for a large dinner plate, easy to operate with a quick start option (you just press the middle of the dial to get 30secs of warming time) heats food well and evenly, we’ve had it for a few months now and all ok.

Great microwave only grumble the number didgits when counting down don’t fully light up. Couldn’t be bothered to return as was in need of i
I’m a technologically minded person, but when it comes to things like microwaves, I like it to be simple. I just want to set the power and the cooking time. This model does actually have “weight defrost” and “time defrost” modes, but I have never used them. Apart from that, you can adjust the power (10%, 30%, 50%, 80%, 100%) and set the cooking time either by pressing the main button (goes up by 30s each press) or by rotating it to select a time.
As you rotate the main dial clockwise, the cooking time goes up in increments of 10s. As you rotate it anticlockwise it counts backwards from the maximum cooking time, which is 95 minutes. Unfortunately the dial button is quite sensitive, and sometimes I find myself nudging it and finding I’ve selected 95 minutes cooking time. It’s not a problem since it’s very obvious what’s happened. I wish it was a firmer action though.
It beeps five times when the cooking time is up, and once for each button press. I’d like to be able to turn it down to avoid disturbing people late at night, but this isn’t possible. Also, if it reaches the end of the cooking time and you press stop or open the door quickly, it still insists on beeping the full five times.
Despite these couple of small niggles, it’s a decent machine which is quite powerful. I leave the door open for a couple of minutes after cooking, and I haven’t seen any rust problems.
The exterior is 49cm H, 29cm W, 38cm D. The interior is 30cm W, 20cm H, 30cm D. The turntable is 27cm in diameter.

Bought this in Jan 2015 and still going strong with no sign of wear or aging. It heats well and consistently without much noise or fuss.
Plenty or automatic and defrost options for a wide variety of foods. Never had and issue defrosting mear or sauces. I tend to manually reduce the power myself than use the auto options but that’s just preference.
Easy to clean as plate and roller ring remove easily. White vinegar seems to work best and simply wipes out any mess or food explosions.
Good value, reliable and durable. Recommend.

This is a great microwave. I purchased this to replace the family 20 year old microwave. Although smaller it still managed to fit a large plate of food. For example a big Sunday roast is no problem.
I wouldn’t say it is the most durable though. It does feel as though the panels are wafer thin and the hinge also does not allow the door to open more than 90 degrees an accident waiting to happen (clipping the door).
It is very easy to use. I didnt bother with the instructions.
Straight forward to clean as you would expect a microwave to be.
The mirror finish on the door adds a nice touch of elegance but also allows you to look through at the right angle.
Overall fairly pleased.

An excellent microwave. But there is one really annoying thing, hence 4 stars. The front has a mirror finish that, if the room is brightly lit, you can barely see inside. You need to put your face right next to the door. In the attached photo the microwave is turned on and contains a large mug. You can just make it out if you try hard but it’s not easy. Every other microwave I’ve had had a pain glass front which was much easier to see through.

I wanted a microwave which was medium sized and this fits the bill nicely.
I also didn’t want one that was too complicated as there are only a few programmes that I am ever likely to use.
It’s very easy to use, just select the level then turn the knob to select the time.
Maybe a digital entry of the time would be easier but this works perfectly fine.
Good size interior, not giant. If you’re looking for a very wide base, perhaps to put square or very large plates in, then i’m afraid this isn’t what you’re looking for. However, for average crockery it’s an amazing microwave, and especially for the price.
Never had one single problem in the three years i’ve owned it; it works wonders.
10/10 would recommend

Ordered a replacement in the end even though it was over the 30 day return limit. The replacement works fine now and it was quite easy to return the broken microwave – they arrange a collection for it. Seems like a standard microwave as long as you don’t get a fault one.
MAM Microwave Steam & Cold Water Steriliser
Tommee Tippee Closer to Nature Steriliser (Microwave)
Philips AVENT SCF281/02 Microwave Steriliser
Many of the reviews complain that they don’t fit in ‘regular’ microwaves which have become more compact over the years. I compared the various measurements and went with this microwave – the MAM steriliser fits perfectly so I’m sure the others will too. It fits directly onto the rotating plate, so will spin with no need to remove the plate, and has space around the steriliser.
Microwave is very easy to use – I worked everything out without looking at the booklet – it’s not complex. Main reason for the review is to say if you need a microwave that will fit a baby steriliser, this one fits the bill.
The first one we received was broken, as soon as the microwave was powered up it would start without us actually pressing any buttons. When we opened the door it would stop, but as soon as the door was closed it would start up again, despite there being no timer counting down on screen. Amazon handled the returns process brilliantly as always, and we received a replacement one which worked as expected.
Very sleek design and reasonably solid build. Although: WHY do designers have some kind of pathological aversion to knobs which feel as if they may actually stay fixed to the mother-device for a year or so. Washing machines, HiFi, Vacuum cleaners, Cookers – the knobs are all falling off. Is this a cunning plan to increase product turnover and consumption??
Ok – Looks well and cooks well and it’s easy enough to fire up and fly the thing without instructions. Annoyingly possibly, you can’t change the power setting in mid-cook, unlike the trusty but ailing Matsui unit (28 years old!) which I gifted to a homeless (but newly re-homed) person recently.
Excellent value too.
This is a great looking microwave and very easy to use. It is a little larger then most which is what we wanted so that we could fit more food in. It will easily fit a large dinner plate in. The surfaces are very easy to clean too. We don’t use many of the program features except for defrost but this works well. It is so easy to just manually select your time and power which is what we usually do.
The buttons being fairly big is another great feature which is great when preparing food and for older family members. Overall a great microwave. We use it daily and are still to find any big issues.
If you are looking for a basic microwave, this is on the more expensive side at around 60, but I am very happy with my purchase as it looks great in the kitchen.
Finally, a microwave that doesn’t wake a sleeping army.
Okay, so I had a set budget for a new microwave and needed one that looked expensive, wasn’t loud and did everything I needed it to do.
Well thanks you Russell Hobbs.
This microwave is rather on the large side, so I did have to move a few things around in the kitchen. The mirrored glass is great (I love staring at myself when I’m cooking), but it’s a pain to clean.
The digital settings and buttons make heating/defrosting things a dream, and the best part is that there is only a light humming sound when something is being heated up. Such a huge difference to being able to hear the microwave from the next room.
This microwave is fantastic, it has a easy to use knob on the front which you can use for setting time, mode and weight. For ease of use, you can press it to put 30 seconds on the clock and keep pressing it to get the amount of time you require.
The beep to tell you it’s done is loud enough to hear out of the kitchen.
This microwave is big enoughti fit s full sized round plate in it which can still turn without hitting the sides.
The front glass is mirrored and does require effort to keep clean but once done, it looks fantastic.
The microwave, microwaves food perfectly and is much better than the budget one I had previously.
My first has given up after eight years of loyal service.
It met its demise with a boot of lightning filled by a puff of smoke.
Undeterred but naturally surprised I have found a more or less exact replacement ( my wife does not like change ).
The only difference I can see between this one and the last is the coating inside is much improved and easier to wipe clean and some repositioning off the exhaust vents.
A very simple to use, twist the dial left then press the black start button for timed cooking using full power or just repeatedly press the black start button for instant cooking at 30s intervals.
For more advanced users there are presets. Especially useful is the one for jacket potatoes.
So easy to use . Set the cock and the power to 100 or 80 or lower and it will stay at that. Looks gorgeous with its mirrored front. What’s not to love? I would give it ten stars for looks, cost, ease of use, and reliability. But I can only go up 5.
Tip… to prolong life Always wipe any moisture away after cooking and leave door ajar for 5 minutes. It paid off for me.
Pros
– Easily hots up food
– Notifies you when the microwave has finished cooking by a beeping sound which has 5 beeps
Cons
– Microwave suffers badly with condensation, however just leave the door slightly open
– The timing option should have just been a simple + / – button instead of the faffing around
– Door outside glass leaves smudges/smears when wiped
Overall the microwave is usable and is just used to hot up food.
If we need a new one I would definitely get one of these.
– The materials, build quality, design and finish are all very good
– The cooking space inside is more than adequate
– The 800W power usage compared with 1000W of most 25L was a key selling point, providing a quick heat/cook time without excess
– The quick start function works well and allows you to add 30 more seconds while cooking
– The timer is very handy when cooking in the oven
There are a few small niggles:
– Because the quick start button is part of the rotary dial and the dial moves quite freely, you can sometimes turn the dial by accident when pressing the button
– As mentioned by others, it would have made far more sense to have the clockwise turn of the dial be time and anticlockwise the auto menu, it would mean you do not have to turn one click anticlockwise then clockwise to start counting up
I would recommend this microwave to anyone looking to make a new purchase.
Best bit is that it is extremely shiny!
Finally watch the price. Every so often Amazon drop the price by 16 quid to 54 quid. Just bide your time
I accept I may have had a rogue machine but that put me off the more expensive models and I decided to try the No #1 best selling microwave, purely on the strength of other positive reviews and so far it has been an excellent choice.
You do need to ensure there is space 20cm space either side and 30cm space above and it advises not to put anything on top of the machine, all those instructions should be made clearer as no doubt space may be an issue for some people; as may be the instruction that it is just for food and is not suitable for heating warming pads or wheat bags.
On the plus side it is ridiculously easy to use, pressing power gives the choice of 5 power levels from 100% full heat down to 10% and once you have chosen the setting just press the large black start/confirm button and as you turn the dial to the right it starts to count the time upwards, press start/confirm button again and it starts cooking. You can also press the start button to add 30 seconds each time which is handy if you are cooking something that will take a while.
There are two defrosting functions to choose either by weight or time and 8 settings to cook various foods which I haven’t had the need to try yet.
For the price I cannot fault it, my mother oddly currently struggles remembering how to use it but it is so basic it only takes a few seconds to remind her and it is relatively new and she had no issue with our previous more complex Sharp model. That’s just a minor gripe and when weighed against the plus points it’s a small price to pay for the ease of operation.
Heats up food, looks good, reasonably compact – everything a microwave should be! The menus I think are a little complicated, it’s not intuitive as to how to start the thing, I had to read the manual. However, it’s really handy how you can keep pressing the round dial to add 30 seconds onto the timer, that’s pretty much the only function you should need to use in day-to-day usage. The only drawback is the mirrored front – it looks great, but you can’t see through it to see how the food is doing, even with the light on inside. Bit daft, but not losing sleep over it…

Seems great so far. Good looks. Only oddity is the selection knob rather than the usual press-buttons, which confuses some of my carers. (I’ve not actually been able to use it myself yet.)
Update 23 March 2023: Can now say that this is still a very good buy, and I’ve now found a near matching grill oven to stand on top of it with some supermagnets I added to the feet.
The outside of the microwave still looks perfect, and the glass cleans up a treat with a misting of vinegar and wipe with kitchen paper (Amazon brown paper from their packaging is v useful for cleaning glass too!). The outside metal is stainless but still usefully magnetic, but the whole thing is let down because they made the inside compartment from ordinary iron, and it is very prone to rust in the edges and corners, and under the turntable and on the internal doorframe.
This is really unforgivable design when the outside looks so good and the electronics and other components are still perfect after years of use. Sadly, this will mean that most of these beautiful ovens will have been thrown out within a few years, though they still worked perfectly! I, myself have persevered, and have, so far, twice sanded down the rust and repainted with smooth Hammerite. The first time was hard work and didn’t give a very smooth finish, and the door soon rusted again where it touches the frame when closed. The latest time, I got a Dremel grinding tool and made a better job of smoothing the rust and old paint before repainting, and, this time, keeping the door and frame from contacting, with a layer of white electrical tape on the frame, and black on the door. It now looks good as new.
One reason for the rapid rusting is likely that the designers, stupidly, made it so that the internal light stays on with the door open and does not cut out to save electricity, so people tend to close the door with it still damp inside. This could easily have been solved with a simple delay switch at manufacturing stage. Some people probably leave the door open and turn it off at the wall, but then you have to do without the useful clock and reset it for every use. I found a push button switch to put under the control panel, that I now turn the light off with so I can leave the door open, so it should last longer this time, (But you have to know what you are doing if you try this, as there is dangerously high voltage in the main capacitor nearby, even when the unit is unplugged, so best left to an electrician who knows how to discharge it.).
The only reason I do not give this 5 stars is that in the blurb about it online there is no mention of having to place it 2- cams each side from the nearest wall, and that you should have a clearance of 30cm above it. We have had to adjust the position of it to accommodate this. You only come across this in the booklet.
The only drawback I can see is that although, along with more sophisticated controls, it has a simple, one push equals 30 seconds of time button, it is quite possible to push the button slightly off centre and suddenly have a timing of 95 minutes! This does not really matter to me as I can spot it immediately, but my husband has Alzheimers and to try to keep things as simple as possible for him, I suggested just using the 30 second button, pressing it as needed. He’s managed to set it for very some long times already!
I realise that for most people, this would not present a problem, but it would be good if it was not possible to make this mistake. All in all, I think it is a very machine and would recommend it.
The Russell Hobbs has a striking modern appearance and we are well pleased that it does everything that we want. Two things prevent us giving 100%…..during daylight hours it is difficult to see through the glass door but more importantly the mains cable is 20cm shorter than the last oven and does not reach the nearest socket from the shelf that I constructed a few years ago and in the instruction manual it states that an extension lead should not be used! Perhaps other manufacturers use similar lengths but this cannot be found in their specifications.
