I was surprised by the size of this when it arrived as it’s pretty big! It has a large water capacity and has a wide opening for filling. Unfortunately the size of it does make filling it awkward sometimes, as it doesn’t always fit under a tap, unless it’s a particularly high one.

It works on a pump principal, so the distance that it sprays is largely determined by how much force you can apply. Accuracy is good, so you can get your target with ease.

It doesn’t look like a traditional water pistol and you would never suspect it was until you saw it in action.

Great for a water fight or for deterring animals!

I had high hopes for this, having read the description and the reviews and I wasn’t disappointed.

Bought as a surprise for a nephews birthday party, water themed so a water gun fight was definitely on the agenda, so I came prepared. It was epic.

It arrived well packaged and looked sleek and modern.

Filling up from a sink tap or the outdoor tap was easy. Not really one to be filled up in the paddling pool due, but wasn’t an issue as I worked this one out from the pictures and knew I had access to taps.

Lots of shots from the quantity of water it hold.

The family (adults and kids alike) were lining up to have a go!

Range was great, easily reaching the far end of the garden.

    Well worth it. Great design.

I’m no water gun expert, but this seems pretty good. Due to its shape, it can store a fair amount of water. Don’t know what the claimed range is, but about 30 foot or so is about right. Takes a little while to unscrew and screw the cap back on, so reasonably slow refills. Great fun!

  6. Anonymous says:

The water gun is brilliant for the price shoots long distances and well balanced making it easy to hold and carry. However I have noticed that water leaks out the fill hole due to the outside thread of the hole being flat in one bit, which means when the cap is screwed on there is a slight gap between the fill hole and the cap meaning water can leak in-between and through the gap. This is just a design flaw which I feel this companny should be able to fix easily. Overall Great product and would recomend but please fix this issue.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI bought a few of these for a BBQ on what thankfully turned out to be a hot and sunny summer afternoon. I wish I had bought more. Kids and adults alike loved them. Their design is compelling and attention grabbing. They are excellent in terms of ease of use, distance, accuracy, size, water capacity, overall performance and price. They changed hands (with great reluctance on each occasion) many times over the course of the afternoon. No one wanted to give them up without a good fight (thankfully just a water fight). I think I need to arrange another event so that we can use them again (and will almost certainly buy a few more).

Seemed reasonable value for money. Not as powerful as I’d have liked, it would have been nice to have been able to get the jet right up to the chimney pots and stop the pesky things from nesting in the first place but since that wasn’t possible, hopefully this will help us out if and when the things come down into the garden.

If all else fails I’m sure next doors boys will love it next year.

Fires 30ft approx excluding outdoor wind which is enough. Great volume at over 1litre and no leak design which is good for me as I use it to fire citronella in key cat runs and at neighbours bengal cats that poo all over lawn. Would be great as summer water fighters – I bought a pair. Recommend the brand too.

I bought this as a joke Christmas present for my husband as the local squirrels were driving him crazy by getting into our so-called ‘squirrel-proof’ bird feeders. And what a success! You can pump out the water very quickly and it comes out in a strong, powerful jet that can soak a squirrel from many feet away. So we now have safe bird feeders, a much more relaxed husband… and several soggy squirrels who now keep their distance! Great piece of kit – accurate and quite powerful at a long distance. Highly recommend it.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersLikes:
The accuracy of this device is good, my aim may be less so but that’s me & not the weapon, which is fine.

This is easier to hold than many similarly capable water weapons, presumably because the water chamber is the full length of the body of the thing, so its weight is distributed evenly along the length. Nice touch there.

Mine doesn’t leak, not one single drop. I can see where the potential vulnerability to leakage could be – in the closure on the water filling point – but try as I might, I’ve never seen mine spilling any water. I accept that perhaps this is down to luck, I’ll update if anything happens to change my view of this point.

Quality is fine, its appearance is purposeful and no bells & whistles are needed, its design avoids the less discrete look of many, mostly more aimed at a younger user presumably, devices with a similar rle and as such can be carried without arousing the suspicion of whichever local cat is trying to use my vegetable patch as a toilet! Just don’t squirt too hard, cats only need the hint of water and they’re off at maximum speed.

    Cons:
Given how simple the purpose of this is, it’s hard to see any reason to dislike it unless yours does dribble, I can only write this from my experience of the one I have.

I purchased this piece of equipment in order to deter the squirrel who has been systematically digging up my carefully planted daffodil bulbs! I keep it filled and handy on my patio table and the squirrel has been getting a regular shower! The battle continues, but I guess I’ve got the cleanest squirrel in my area! The “gun” reaches a good distance and stops the creature in his tracks! The first “shot” of water was the best! He couldn’t believe what was happening! It will be in continuous use. I should imagine it would be good fun for kids as well!

My 74 year old stepfather annoyingly gets water pistols out when we visit. I bought this knowing our last visit would be no different. It was primed and ready when I got put of car and as he came towards us he did not realise that the object I was holding was a high power super soaker. He got drenched at close range and has not done it since. Also great for scaring off unwanted pigeons and squirrels in the garden.

Nice sturdily built water gun. When the grown up kids saw it they decided I wanted a shoot out with their nerf guns thst they’ve still go lol. But actually it’s to humanely move on unwanted cats in the garden, sh1tting everywhere and murdering birds. A bit of water doesn’t harm but it discourages them from coming back. The gun is brilliant, easy to refill, fires a good accurate jet of water each time you use the pump action. Very pleased with it.

Bought for my 11 year old as wanted a water gun for birthday. Initial reaction was “what is this?”. Once filled with water, it was amazingly easy to use, shoots a good distance, doesn’t need refilling as often as normal water guns so perfect for soaking opponents in water fights. Now the older sibling wants one for revenge.
Parent note: looks like it will last a long time, and convenient to store

Love the covert appearance and when full it doesn’t drip water everywhere. This shoots out a steady single stream of water but just be careful not to contaminate the tank with debris as the nozzle can’t be cleaned. Great gun with pump action.

Nice because I like the pressure from the water gushing. The design does not show something that can easily be damaged by kids using it seriously. Flat, no protruding parts that can tempt children to explore.

Very easy to use- even managed to skoosh a hairy beast while one-handed and having a conversation on the phone. Though I did have to explain to the caller why I shouted “take that furball!!” in the middle of the call I soooo wanted the reviews to be wrong but mine is leaking too. Only when you lay it down flat, or handle up. As long as it sits balanced upright on the curvy handle with the water away from the cap/filling point it’s fine. Unfortunately, I wanted to hang it near the door to catch the intruders as soon as they came over the fence but the design won’t let that happen. I’ve no idea if it leaks when I’m using it basically cos it’s so good a feeling shooting the critters that I could be soaked but the feeling of revenge is drying me off quickly

Bought this to keep near the back door for deterring neighbourhood cats. I don’t dislike cats and would certainly never hurt one but I’m heartily fed up of them using our borders as a litter tray and also coming to agitate our natural wildlife. Actually works in war against trespassing cats. You can apply decent force to the pump, which gives a fairly strong jet of water. Re other reviews, if it won’t fit under your sink tap, just use a jug. It isn’t a fire hose and won’t knock a cat over or risk seriously harming it, but you can aim fairly accurately and it DOES frighten them off. You need to patrol regularly (combat fatigues not required) so cats do associate the area with being wetted.

This product was the only water pistol that I could find that didn’t look like a children’s toy. I want to leave it by my front door ready as a cat deterrent. It seems well made and has a good pump action that produces a decent spray that reaches from my front doorstep to the far edge of my front lawn. What isn’t so convenient is that it will not fit vertically under my kitchen mixer tap, so it has to be held at an angle for filling. Filling is via a twist off cap at the opposite end to the handle. I’m also pretty sure that I ordered a blue finish but received red.

Golden Review Award: 32 From Our UsersI keep this water pistol by the door of the conservatory, ready loaded with water. I bought it a couple of weeks ago to chase cats out of the garden, and it works brilliantly. It gives a good long spurt of water, about 25 feet, with each pump of the mechanism, and it’s easy to aim at the felines. One squirt and the cats are off. It doesn’t leak, and it’s much more inconspicuous than most of the brightly coloured water pistols available. The cats aren’t harmed and the birds in the garden are happy. I’d recommend it to anyone for this purpose.

This is such a stylish (if there is such a thing) and innovative design water gun. It very much works like a pump-action shotgun and the amount and pressure you pump it, determines how far, and fast the water comes outs. It looks smart in the grey/purple colour scheme.

At one end you have the pump, nozzle and refill cap, the cap has a one-way value on it, to let air in. The other end has a carry handle.

The only drawback with the gun is the position of the refill cap. As, to fill it up, you need to stand it upright. Now, it is just over the length of a normal ruler and will not fit under many sink taps. This is not a big issue for us, as my girls either use the outside tap, hosepipe, or paddling pool to fill it up.

Overall, it feels well-made and my daughters had great fun playing with it.

At 20.00, I think it is reasonable value for money.

I hope you found this review & photos interesting, informative, and useful. Thanks for reading.

Well made and great fun to use

There is much to like about the the new water gun from Team Magnus – an outdoor fun company from whom I have bought good quality products, such as beach towels, in the past.

First, a word of warning about the colours. Study the pictures on the Amazon sales page carefully before purchasing, because the ‘purple’ colour is half purple and half grey, but the ‘red’ and ‘blue’ colours are both mostly grey, with a small strip of the relevant colour on the front edge. The ‘incog’ name seems to come from the grey colour- these are discreet water guns by virtue of not being brightly coloured or decorated.

It is easy enough to fill up the water gun with over a litre of water – noting that the cap when loosened comes off completely- and the fun begins. Water is heavy, and this model is quite hefty when full up. My 6 and 9 year old grandsons seemed to cope fine. The water shoots a long way, perhaps 10 metres, without being too powerful. This is important because some of the original super soaker style water guns were dangerous in the wrong hands.

These water guns are robust and can cope with being thrown down unceremoniously at the end of a play session. The handle makes them easy to carry when empty or full, and the pump action is easy for children to learn.

Overall I was very pleased with this model of water gun, which could only be improved by securing the water tank cap, and by using more colour on the red and purple models.

Yes, you’ll probably regret getting the kids one of these Team Magnus Incog Water Guns, but they’ll love it! These things can shoot a jet of water quite a way. During my extensive and entirely scientific experiments (no, it’s not your turn yet!) I managed to hit the greenhouse out of the kitchen window — that’s about 8 metres — and it would have gone further if it hadn’t hit the glass.

They’re quite solidly made with both the spray nozzle and the filling hole on the same side and the pump-action trigger on the other, together with a handle. They’re easy to use but need a little bit of strength and coordination to get the best jet. Because the whole thing is a water tank you also get a good amount of spraying before needing to be refilled. They’re really fun but not exactly cheap, especially if you need more than one to keep things fair!

I had ever heard of this make before receiving this, but one thing I can say is that this water gun is very well made.
It came in a box wherein the instructions were printed on the inside, which almost caught me out as the box was half way to the recycling bin.
To be honest though what instructions do you need for a water gun?
It has a pump-action to fire and a large aperture, secured by a screw top cap, to fill it.
I don’t now there exact capacity (I do – see below) but it can take a lot of water!
The screw cap, like the rest of the gun is well made, but lacks a cord or similar to secure it to the water gun. I predict that the cap may end up getting lost :(.
It is quite a large gun and it makes no effort to look like the well-known brand water guns that you’ll see everywhere else, which in my view is a good thing.
The gun is effectively a one-piece until with the handle built into the back of the unit and a sliding pump action underneath to squirt the water.
the jet produced is quite narrow, which is good and means it can be fired accurately.
Range-wise I couldn’t say exactly as it was windy both times we used it but it is far enough for fun and games and is claimed as 10 metres.

    Pros:
    Very, very tough indeed
Cool dark green/grey colour and functional shape – a bit different looking – more military than sci-fi
Range and power – claimed 10m
Ease of use – very simple design
Easy to fill/empty – large aperture
    Good capacity (claimed 1.2l)

    Cons:
    A bit heavy
Perhaps a bit expensive for what it is
Handle can make your and ache as can pump action
Cap not secured by a cord

    Overall:
We really enjoyed using this water gun.
It’s the sort of toy that you can throw down (as kids do) without worrying about it and will be tough enough for even the roughest kids to use – trust me on that. We took it on holiday and it handled the sand and salt water at the beach with no issues whatsoever.
The only real question marks for me are the the hand ache you could get from prolonged use and the lack of any attachment for the screw cap for the filling hole. We nearly lost ours in the sea, only saved by my son’s quick reactions.
Okay, it will probably mainly get used in the garden but even there the cap could get mislaid.
All in all though this is a great, super tough toy for sunny weather fun and games and I can re commend it.

A fun and tough soaker/water pistol

It’s not the most convincing water gun, on first sight, as it looks more like… I dont know, a Tupperware of some sort?!
Anyway it holds a surprising amount of water and is easy to use – easy to hold with a decent shooting distance.
Being so slimline it’s not going to take up loads of room in your car / bag / suitcase.
(Amazon have asked me to rate its “warmth” which is a rather odd question so I’ve given it a middle of the road 3 stars for that!)
    Solid 4 good stars .

I got one off these for the kids , I needed something more powerful and unique. The water gun is a pump action operated , it has a huge water tank , with 1.5 litre capacity. It will give you plenty of ammo before reloading. The range of the projected water shot is amazing must be about 14ft . The build quality is excellent and should last a long time. The only negatives I could think off is the gun can get quite heavy ,especially when the storage tank is full, it also takes bit off effort to pump the gun, the more pressure you put in pumping the gun the further the water expels. Overall I think its worthy product and its definitely good fun.

    Not your average water gu

I love this water gun. It’s mine. An 31 year old man owning a water gun. But it is so cool. It looks discrete and tactical. I’ve been enjoying having water fights with my three kids with this.
I like how easy and simple it is to fill. Remove the cap and fill. It fits in a regular sized sink so you can fill it without struggling.
I have knocked a star off due to the pump. It has some issues every now and then where it slips and it only squirts a small amount out. It really does not like firing at angles, up or down. It is best fired straight ahead. Probably not ideal if your garden is on a hill. The pump also gets a bit wet in use from the nozzle. This doesn’t help the friction required to pump it.
It does indeed fire about ten metres. Each 1.2 litre full tank offers 77 full squirts. Each squirt is a decent size. It works out at about 15ml. Which doesn’t seem much but its plenty. The water that is pumped out is a but spluttery but generally on target.
The overall build quality, besides the pump, is decent. Seemingly high quality outer shell. But the pump could offer a bit more grip. As stated above it gets wet. It is completely smooth, besides the logo.
Overall, this water gun has lots of improvements it could make to be a five star product. Its saving grace is its USP of being well, unique. It’s coolness makes up for its relatively minor misgivings. If they were to improve on this design, I reckon the Team Magnus Incog 2.0 would be spot on though. I hope it comes out by next summer, I’d certainly upgrade.

Great toy but it is leaking, from where the tank cap sits. You do get it in toys of this tyoe sometimes, but the one whopper that we had before is much sturdier in this regards. So, in comparison, this one loses. However, it has a sleek design and holds quite a bit of water without getting too heavy for younger kids, so for them, it’s better suited.
The leak is annoying though, so only 3/4 stars (as if you fill it up and get into a car for a short drive you will have difficulty jeeping it upright so that there are no spills on the seats).

Better than any other water-pistol I have ever used – these are the boys!!! Until I got one of these I was a huge fan of super-soakers, but these are better. Firstly, they are compact and yet have a huge capacity. It isn’t so obvious what their function is and that gives you an extra second or to to drench someone without them expecting it. You can carry this under your arm and people might mistake it for a book or something else innocuous. Best of all is the shear volume of water that you can hit someone with in one blast! These deliver a really good shot and are simply fabulous on those hot summer days with the family in the back garden!
They are easy to refill too – making the time taken to top up less than with competitive products.
These are great fun and if you are conscious about guns and children, they have the advantage of not looking like one! Highly recommended for fun!

This water gun is an interesting design, but works very well. It’s easy to hold and shoot, not too heavy when fully loaded. Even my 4yr old daughter had no trouble using it (and getting me soaked in the process!) The range is true to the manufacturers claims, about 10 metres. Lethal in my fairly small garden, where nowhere is safe during water fights!!

My only minor criticism would be the positioning of the fill cap right at the front of the gun. This might make it difficult to fill the gun up fully from some indoor taps, given that the full length of the gun has to be under the tap. This was not really a problem for me though, as I have a directional nozzle on my kitchen tap.

I missed the recommended age of 6+ when I ordered this Magnus Incog water soaker, it was intended for my three year old boy, but he can hardly lift it up when its full. I thought it was a good idea as it is the same action of pumping that he is used to with some small soakers we already have (the ones like a bike pump that suck up water and spurt it out) and he has got the hang of using it but it has to be half full for him to be able to lift and aim it. I can see this being great fun next summer or two when he has a bit more strength but it was my fault for not reading the recommended age.

I on the other hand I think its great for adults and older children! its quite a minimalist sleek design which is right up my street and the tank lasts quite a while and it has a great range, I haven’t measured with a tape measure but I reckon I was easily getting 10M squirts down our garden. There is a twist cap which you open to fill it up with a nice wide opening and it seems like the whole of the inside of the gun is the water tank. There are not many part to break off or go wrong, due to its paired back design and I think it will still be going strong when my little one is old and strong enough to use it properly! Overall happy and it will be great but not quite just yet for my little one.

It is well made good quality water guns. I got it for my son and he love it. It don’t leak and can fill up very quickly(It’s very easy to fill and more importantly he doesn’t need my help every time lol.)

The best thing is that they shoot out the water for a good distance. The price is reasonable for this quality!

Golden Review Award: 28 From Our UsersWhen I saw this I knew I had to get one!

They’re not like any water shooter/ gun you’ve seen before. My sons were like, what is that? They were immediately excited after I showed them! It’s got a pump action so feels satisfying spraying with it.

Both my 5 and 7yr olds were able to shoot without any problems. It’s not too hard to pull back.

Here are some of my pros and cons.

    Pros:
    * flat so can rest against your body
    * looks good
    * handle for easy shooting and carrying
    * powerful
    * holds quite a lot of water
    * easy to fill up/ screw cap
    * it looks as though you are able to open it to fix it if anything goes wrong. There are a total of 8 visible screws holding the spray section, and 5 screws for the pump action.

    Cons:
    * can’t be used one handed like typical guns.
    * the seals may need some looking at. Today we took it to the park and had some fun. After which I noticed water was leaking out the bottom of it when I filled it up. I tightened the screws holding it together but there’s still a spot or two where it’s leaking. I expected it to be more robust than this to be honest so I’ve taken a star off for this. I will open it to have a proper look to see what’s going on because I’d prefer to spray the water rather than waste it. Time will tell whether this will handle future water gun fights!
    * I opened the gun, please see the pictures.

It is powerful and shoots about 20feet, maybe more.

All in all a solid water gun choice!

    Thanks for reading!

Will it hold up long term?!

I love the design of this. It is simplicity itself and works beautifully. Very simple to fill and to operate. This could well be the perfect water pistol. My only gripe is the price. Twenty pounds is a bit steep for something so simple, even if it is awfully cool. It is almost worth the money, but not quite. At 15 this would be a 5 star item, but that extra fiver cost it one star.

This water gun is very well made, it is sturdy and well put together and so far hasn’t leaked.
The stroke of the handle is smooth and easy to use but limited in range and leads to quite a small stream of water which unfortunately doesn’t have a great range compared to some other water pistols on offer nowadays. However if you’re just playing around in your garden or local area with your kids then it shouldn’t be a problem.
The water gun holds approximately 1.2L and takes a fair while to empty so doesn’t need re-filled too often. If you’re filling the gun indoors in a sink you’ll find it’s tricky to fill completely due to the position of the filling hole and sheer size of the gun. However, you can still get a lot in it and enjoy the fun of soaking each other.

Bulky, well made and with a large filling hole, but not easy to fill in a sink!

I got this to try out as daughter uses a squirt bottle on dogs in her daycare, it’s a redirecting tool not a punishment one, but they can out run this bottle lol, not any more 😉

We had a water gun you had to cock when our dog was small, after a while, as you pumped it, she knew water would catch her butt, so dropped/stopped what she was naughtily doing. It worked well.

This has a massive range on it, which is great when the dogs know they’re doing wrong and run, there’s no hiding from this lol.

It’s very simple to use, and after a few times correcting the dogs, they hear it and stop what they’re up too lol.

But if you have kids GET one or three! I’m certain if it’s a boiling hot day, you’d get as much fun drenching them with this as much as they’d love it.

Any age could use it if they can pump it, they can soak you with it!!!!!

Go on, have some water fun!

    Great water gun!

A very sturdy new design of a pump action water pistol. One disadvantage was that I couldn’t get the filler under the kitchen tap and had to use an outdoor tap. Having said that once filled the water doesn’t leak out of the tank so it can be kept fully loaded. Why keep it ready for action? Because this water pistol is use at short notice as a cat deterrent. The slim design means it fits behind the door for whenever we set a pesky cat doing it’s business in our garden. Water is harmless and we hope it deters them from returning. BONUS – we can have water fights when the grandchildren visit.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersWhat a fantastic design! The gun is really stylish and smart and stands out amongst others. Seriously impressive range of about 10m. Battletested immediately on arrival by two boys; the water fight lasted hours. The guns are robust, with a smooth durable bolt action and decent pressure. No trigger, so fewer moving parts. Decent size of tank (1.2l) and no leaks. With three colours combinations, no mixing up whose is whose. Streamlined design means easy storage. Really cool packaging, too. Great for adults and kids alike.

Golden Review Award: 21 From Our UsersFantastic toy. This isn’t a ‘gun’ shape and it doesn’t work like that either. There’s no trigger – to get the jet of water you are pumping the handle once for each skoosh. This means you can vary how fast you pump get different rates of water from a fast jet to a lazy arc. The only minor drawback is the length, the fill port is at one end so you will only fit it under a kitchen sink tap or in the bath, most wash hand basins will be too small. That said you could always fill from an outside tap or other container. I got a range of up to about 15 to 20ft max out of mine, but works a bit better a at closer range.
