A good price compared to others.I used a heavy duty hammer drill for the base support, drilling a pilot hole firstly as a 12mm drill bit straight off could damage the brick work. Some have said the supplied bolts didn’t seem strong enough but by gently tightening up with a ring spanner it was sorted.
I’ve only had this a short while but use it regularly in this hot wether with no problems at all.The re-wind is fast so keep control of it at that point.

These are great autowinder hosepipes, way way better than, for example, the Hozelock 30m auto winder equivalent. The auto wind spring is strong and drags the hose in a treat. I replaced a Hozelock 30m auto winder with this, it’s much cheaper and unlike the Hozelock it actually winds the pipe in without getting jammed. So why pay more for a weaker product, look no further than VonHaus we have two now.

Bolted to wall fine. Eadyvto swing around. Need to supply own lock if you want to secure it in place., but only small home in bottom of spindle limits strength of lock to be used. Good strong rewind & easy actioned stop points when extending. Bestvto turn tap off & then evacuate nozzle before rewinding but no real proble. If you don’t do that. Only comes with simple nozzle. You need to provide own multi action trigger operated hand nozzle. Much cheaper and better buily yjan Hozelock equivalent.

Was easy to secure to the back of the house and works perfectly! Saves so much time watering and with a quick pull the automatic rewind mechanism nearly stores the hose back in the case in seconds.
Excellent product, thanks VonHaus and Amazon.

Little tricky sometimes to get it retracted all the way in. Other than that. Works great.

Love this. Saves so much messing around with other hoses. Easy to use and install. Had it for several months now and no issues. Looks like the rust is running down the hand control. Works fine tho. Fair for the price compared to others.

    Excelle

Seems very sturdy only little niggle is you have to make sure the hose is empty before you reel it back in as it doesn’t wind all the way back if still full.

Feels strong and well made. Wall plugs require a 12mm drill.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersWhy did I wait so long? Why are you? For years I struggled with a manual floor reel which kept kinking and leaking, but now my life is so much easier and I have saved so much time with this sprung loaded quality product, that I have had time to train with NASA’s space program and become an astronaut. Well, not really, but it is so much easier and tidier that I gave it six stars (the last one is hidden by Amazon).

Hoses are also a breeding ground for bacteria apparently, so if you have children or pets or even a vegetable patch then it behoves one to change it from time to time, I would imagine (the Jubilee is rubbing off on me).

I read the reviews on this product and was nearly put off by the negative comments about the mounting bolts, but I went ahead anyway.

I’m pleased I did, the hose unit feels very solid and works well, it retracts without issue (providing you drain the water from the hose first) and has caused me no issues.

With regard to the mounting bolts, I can only assume that the people who’ve had issues haven’t taken sufficient care when mounting it.
I used a 5mm masonry bit as a pilot and was then going to use a 10mm before finally drilling a 12mm hole as the instructions suggest, HOWEVER…

I found that the hole drilled by the 10mm masonry bit was actually the correct size for the wall plugs, will a little persuasion from a tap-hammer the plugs went in snug and the bolts sinched up nicely.

There is no need to over-torque the bolts either, they’re not going to undo themselves and I think this is where some people have suffered snapped bolts.

Use a 10mm masonry bit and some common sense and you’re sorted.
