This is the woodburner of my dreams!
Its less than half the price of the Peter Child Artists Pyrography machine and i can do way more with it.
The nibs are very sturdy, even when hot.
They are simple to change.
It heats up very fast and after switching off, im only waiting a couple of minutes to change the nibs.
There is an awesome stand and a little screwdriver to change the nibs.
It is absolutely fantastic for the money- i couldn’t be happier with it.
Whilst the temperature control is a good featue, the control knob is tiny as is therefore not easy to read or hold. The on/off switch could do with being a definite cllick on and off and not just the slide action that it is. A rough guide for beginners of what temperature for which job would be good in the instructions and what some of the more obscure accessories are for eg the suction syringe thing??? Overall, however, it does the job, which in my case was multiple solders (around 100) for LED neon letter signs for a stage set.
The temperature dial seems small and cheap but other than that it is a good tool for precision and affordable
This product is great, coming with a variety of attachments and temperature control. This is difficult to use on certain types of wood so you need to be careful when choosing. Different heads are easy to change and the stand is very useful during and after using to cool down.
I’ve had this machine for a few months only got round to the review. Probably the best one I’ve used and worth paying the extra money. Still practising. A great tool for pyrography
A nice soldering iron within a well presented set of ancilliary equipment and a useful instruction booklet in a well presented zip up case all at a good price.Downside the controls seem a little flimsy and the dial needs either good eyes or a magnifying glass to read.
This seems like a good piece of equipment, but the pen does get too hot after a while.
The pen gets to hot to handle even at medium settings.
I tried wrapping the pen with a heat resistant material.
This melted within minutes.
Please see photos this could have given me an extremely serious bu
My first pyography use was with a pen type thing, this is definitely the next level.
I mainly use it for burning signs etc onto Oak.
The temperature setting is very useful depending on how burnt you need it.
Different tips help.
The best beginner soldering kit on Amazon, it has everything you need to get started. Iron has good temperature control and the included solder is ideal for small DIY projects. So good I bought a second one as a gift for a relative.
Really pleased with this Soldering Iron Kit. Well made and excellent.
I should have read the description more carefully.
Thought it was a comprehensive soldering kit, to my surprise no soldering flux.
It’s nice to use around the house for small jobs and the kit have everything you need.
I have several soldering irons of different sizes but not temperature controlled. I have just finished assembling a small PCB the selection of fine tips resulted in a quality finish job.
Everything you need for all your circuit board repairs even if you haven’t used 9ne before easy to use and control 5 stars
I bought this as my husband has been diagnosed with parkinsons disease & as he is unable to work as a paint sprayer anymore he wanted a hobby that would help him with the tremors. He is loving it & even with his tremors he is finding it helps him to control the shakes with concentration.
This is the 3rd one I’ve bought and it’s the best, but the rubber around the handle slips when in use, which is a bit of a pain. But a part from that its grea
Well impressed with this iron kit, well worth the price, very comfortable to use
Very easy to set up and use, found it to be great value and a fab bit of kit for a beginner like me.
Tried other burning kits, but this one is the best by far. Would definitely recommend this. Well impressed
Works Really Well , you can Control the Temperature with the little dial and heats up Nicely
great machine so easy to use and with all the different tips.
I started to have problems at first with the device losing temperature. I contacted company by email and had a reply within 24 hours. They suggested I try tightening the screws holding the nib in place and if that didn’t work to get back to them. It worked! A simple fix but I found their customer support to be great. Now I can get started properly. Tried various nibs – firmly tightened – and spent some time preparing a test panel. Rapid response to temperature control. Comfortable to hold pen. Good variety of nibs. Great device.
Easy to use never used one before but was simple
Bought this to illustrate into many big Oak panels for a design festival. The kit really held up the whole time, was super worried which price point I should be getting as seems to be a big range in prices, but this was perfect.
All you need in the kit. Works well. Nice case. Fiddley on/off switch
Would be handy to know as a beginner what each element does and how to use
Easy to use, good temp control and selection of tips
I liked the temp control and the fact it comes with other tools in a neat tidy case very good value for money
Love the pen I can do so much with it and light and easy to use
All is there except the glue.. wish they included that too
Wish I’d bought this first! Great for a beginner in pyrography! Recommend testing every tip to see what they do
Really good tool. I picked this up to practice and get into a new hobby and I love it. Really easy to use and set up
Only issue is the wire strippers, they are a bit rubbish, aside from those everything else included is fine.
Great kit for beginners and occasional usage.
Comes in a good quality carry case. This is a great little kit. Has everything you’d need to start out. Comes with a solder remover, a reel of actual solder which is v handy if you’re buying this and don’t have any around. I bought it cos I’m doing some stuff with arduinos. The soldering iron itself has in built temperature control which is very useful when doing SMD components. The stand isn’t amazing but it’s got one so that’s good. Nice selection of tips as well, has a small tho mostly obvious leaflet/instruction guide. The multimeter is pretty standard; nothing amazing but perfectly functional and will get the job done. Even has a couple of reels of hookup wire, so all in all this is great value for money. Perfect for hobbyist work and beginners; if you’re an electrical engineer you’ll want something beefier but you’ll probably already have that anyway.
Amazing kit everything you need in a nice case to keep everything together looks more expensive than it was
Great value for money and made a Great Gif
It’s not major but the only thing was I received 19 tool pieces instead of the 20. Not a biggy really.
Still love i
Everything you need.
A bit of experience would be handy.
Electricity kills. Handle with care.
Don’t think you a electrician just because you have the tools.
Every thing works. I will be only using this kit occasionally. Hope it lasts.
This is a very professional kit and outperformed my previous burner by a long way. I’ve used it a lot since buying and is very easy to use with great heat control. Heats up fast and cools down quickly. Great value for money and I would recommend to anyone wishing to try pyrography but will also suit professionals.
I only occasionally solder mostly to fix/take apart random things and help my son make something from his electronics kit. I’ve never invested in a decent soldering iron and have tended to buy cheap ones simply because it’s not a high priority. When my last one packed up, I bought these as the kit seemed like really good value with so many tools. However, quality-wise I wasn’t expecting much from this kit.
I have to say when I received this I was pleasantly surprised.
The soldering iron heats up quickly and has temperature control which I didn’t realise at first. The multimeter does exactly what you’d expect and readings are stable. The accessories, well it’s everything I could ask for and more. My requirements are simple and they are well served with this kit. I’m sure someone who does a lot more circuit work would have a more nuanced view but for me this kit is great.
Definitely would recommend this to any hobbyist. You really get your money’s worth and more.
Really impressed with the soldering set, really great value for money to fully soldering and test connections. Fully recommend to anyone, even if you’re starting out!
Very good mid priced 40W kit with a good range of tips, good temperature range, very easy to set up.
I bought my first woodburner kit around 6 weeks ago (a soldering iron solid tip type) and as a new hobby, loved it, so I decided to upgrade to a wire nib burner. This is so much easier to use with far more control. There are a number available at this price and I selected this one on the basis of the positive reviews and the quality of the support stand. It doesn’t have a digital display but this is not a problem. I have found working between 350C to 450C works well. There is an excellent range of wire nibs that come with the kit and you shouldn’t need to purchase any more. The pen is comfortable to hold and doesn’t get hot. The results are good and everything about this item looks and feels good quality. On many of the similarly priced wood-burners, the reviews comment on the wiring within the pen. I unscrewed the head to the pen on mine to check – it was safely wired with straight wires and long heatproof sleeves over each wire. The pen holder is robust and very safe – I love the way it fits neatly on top of the power supply. I can fully recommend this pyrography kit.
I’ve been a happy customer of Preciva products in the past, so when I was looking for a kit that I could easily throw in a bag and transport around, I was pleased to see Preciva offered this kit.
In previous reviews, I’ve commented on the high quality finish of the tools I’ve bought from this company. This set is no exception to that. From the leatherette zipped case down to the individual tools, I really can’t argue with the quality of these tools for the money I’ve paid.
The two headline tools in this set are obviously the soldering iron and multimeter/ammeter.
Both of these tools feel substantial enough to give confidence in the tool.
The soldering iron, though solid, is lighweight and easy to use. With its silicone grip, it will also be comfortable to use over longer periods.
I’ve never had an iron without a base station that has temperature control on it before. This seems to have been achieved well with a very small temperature control dial (pictured above). It ranges from 220-480C and the control is textured on the outside to make it easier to turn.
It is a small control though – at a little over 9mm in diameter, I find it easy to read and use, but those who have difficulty with fine control or poor eyesight may struggle a little with this dial.
Behind the dial, there is an orange switch. This is used both to switch the iron on and also the set of 3 LEDs at the front of the handle.
The iron is fairly quick to warm up and the LEDs provide a subtle but useful light to assist when soldering in tight and poorly lit spaces. It’s nice not to have to angle a spotlight around your work, trying to find the right angle to avoid shadows – these three LEDs certainly achieve that purpose well.
There is a power LED below the temperature dial which produces a gentle purple glow when the iron is switched on, although it doesn’t appear to indicate when the iron is at temperature. This is by no means a deal breaker – generally you know you’re at the right temperature when you can melt the solder on the device you’re working on!
The soldering iron is accompanied by some useful tools too – the small sponge and stand is very useful for holding the iron – it rests very securely when the wire holder is placed behind the screw collar.
There is also the desoldering pump for removing melted solder when removing components – a good test for how effective these are is simple to hold your thumb across the nozzle when releasing the plunger. In this case, the pump performed well and sprung back about half of its travel, producing a good vacuum. The pump is large in the hand with a comfortable sponge grip – the size makes it easier to hold steadily, so works to your advantage.
There are also five spare soldering iron tips of varying shape – two spare point tips and three chisel tips of different shapes and sizes.
The multimeter/ammeter is great – not too big and solidly made. The display can be backlit by pressing the upper right button. The blue backlight is bright and makes the display very easy to read. There is also a useful hold button on the top left, the display showing a H when the readout is paused.
The multimeter is not auto ranging – so you have to manually select the volt/amp/resistance range that you expect to see. I prefer my meters to be manual as you get a quicker readout from that sort of device. Finding the suitable range is straightforward, but if you’re not on the right one, the display will just display a 1 on the left hand side to show that you’re out of range.
There are all of the normal functions that you’d expect to see – volt/amp/resistance measurement, continuity tester with a good clear buzzer, battery, diode and transistor testers.
There is a stand on the back of the meter and the cables come with protectors on each end too.
Finally, the kit contains a small set of tweezers, useful for soldering small components, a reel of lead free solder, short lengths of red and black wire and a wire stripper/punchdown tool.
There are two manuals in the set – one for the soldering iron and the other for the multimeter, they are both written in good English and easy to understand.
All in all, this set is pretty unbeatable in terms of value and it’ll become a valued part of any mobile repair kit. With the case measuring only 27x14x7cm with everything packed inside, it’s certainly easy to carry around and everything is very easy to access when the case is fully opened.
Very happy with the is purchase. I have had no issues with the unit. It is easy to set up, and heats up very quickly. When turned off it cools quickly too wish is good for changing tips while working.
All in all very happy and would defiantly recommend for beginners up. Picture shown was completed with this pyro kit.
New to wood burning,Have use the cheaper version to try it out but took so long . This in comparison is hundred percent better heats up to good temperature and cools down quickly . Like the stand that fixes on top. The wand is easy to hold and better to control. Would definitely recommend. Arrived quickly but Was little worried about packaging only sent in normal manufactures box but everything ok up till now .
Absolutely amazed by this tool. I am a beginner and wanted to customize my son’s cot. This too is incredibly user friendly. The only negative things are that the dial which moderates the temperature has a sticker sign to indicate the termparature. This comes off and can be confusing as it can indicate that the wrong temperature if the sticker has been repositioned.
Also the pack comes with a plastic stencil. This should be metal as it may be useful for beginners to use the stencil as a guide.
Not keen on the stand. It works but the iron could do with more support. Very pleased with the actual iron. Good value for money.
Does the job well. Kit is comprehensive but did buy better solder wire and a few additional bits to compliment i
I have been using this machine now for a few weeks and I am extremely happy with my purchase. This little machine packs a punch, and provides a great heat for burning in different shades. A great design in the unit and I love the aspect of the pen holder fitting into the top of the unit. The only part of the whole item I would add or change is the rubber grip on the pen moves a little to much, which is a pain when moving your pen around your art work.
I really wanted to try pyrography so bought this machine. It is amazing. I have enjoyed it so much. Looking forward to getting better and trying all the techniques. Heats up fast and so easy.
I purchased the 17 in 1 Soldering Iron kit as I had a job to do at a customer site and wanted to take along an emergency soldering kit. I was impressed with the quality of the items, especially that the price. You’d easily pay more for the individual bits separately. I have an inexpensive multimeter like the one included in this kit I use regularly, but this one is nicer; I like the hold feature in particular. I just packed my Preciva soldering matte and a tip cleaner, and I had everything I needed to set up a temp shop on site.
fantastic tool. Negative reviews say that the tool overheats. all pyrography machines overheat if used for too long. The instructions suggest 45 minutes at a time maximum. Bought for my daughters birthday and she loves it.
Kit appears good, soldering iron works well, led lights very useful in confined spaces, Multi-meter seems good quality with good instruction on use. Wire stripper not so good but not that important. Handy carry case with room for all the kit and also easy to get everything back in place (without having to take photo of way its set out before removing anything. Have played that game with other things in the past. Ho Ho)
Everything comes in a nice case, well presented. I used it to swap out a motor on my turntable and it was easy to use, select the right tip, plug in, didn’t take long to be hot enough to use, the light was great, temp control easy and the dinky stand held perfectly. Made the soldering work a breeze. Definitely recommend
While some people have said this is cheap and crappy, I 100% disagree, I have seen cheap and crappy and this is not it. This product is a tidy little soldering iron with temperature adjustment ( a definite bonus). changing the tips is simplicity itself (when cold OFC) and is done by simply unscrewing a sleeve that holds the tip in removing the tip and replacing with another. A solder sucker is also included (very handy) along with solder and some damn fine tweezers, and by fine I mean fine tip, so fine in fact that they could probably be used to handle gems (as I will be using them for). Overall this is a great little set that comes with a great price. Zero faults maximum satisfaction.
The kit was fine good quality quick to warm up and cool down when required. The range of heat was an extremely welcome function.
All in all an excellent little package.
This little kit is amazing. The 4 stars due to the pen stopped working within 2 hours of use while making a smell of burning hairs. I didn’t want to send it back so I opened the pen. The black and red wire inside were peeled off and twisted and touching together. It stopped heating up when this happened. I re wired it and its been great ever since. I was able to use it, great pen. It’s been great for passing time while in lockdown. The kit comes with 20 different tips and a Phillips screwdriver and the stand for the pen clicks on the power supply, great for space saving and when I’m finished I simply swith the plug off and leave on the side of my working table, no mess. Qc maybe better on the issue mentioned. Other than that I would recommend.
So far has done all I needed.
Only drawback……where the on/off switch is situated it is easy to turn off while handling the iron.
Great value for the money. This pack includes everything that you need for a delicate surgery on any motherboard the you have to work on. Multimeter is a great and vital device too. So you’ve got everything in one for that price. Amazing.
This is a great machine for starting off in pyrography. I have now used it for 4 weeks and I love it. The heat is easy to control and the nibs easy to change – perfect. The only downside would be that after about 45-60 mins on a high heat the pen where your finger grip is starts to get quite hot. You can still use it, but I tend to have a rest at this point unless I am finishing a piece.
Great product, especially for the price! I bought this to learn with and it is so incredibly easy to use. Comes with loads of different tips for creating different lines and effects. Literally plug it in, wait a couple of seconds for it to heat up and off you go. Highly recommend.
I was somewhat skeptical my skills would be up to the job but I’m surprisingly impressed with the results. The unit has plenty of power and lots of different attachments for your art. The unit is heavy and well built – heavy enough that it can take a few knocks without breaking.
Fantastic product! Im new to pyrography and first bought the smaller soldering “pen” by the same company. But this machine gives you a depth of colour due to a higher temperature range. Very easy to use, overall very happy!
My first wire wood burner and I love it. Had it a couple months now and had no problem with it. the handle stays quite cool. Nice and small and being able to put the holder on top is a great idea, saves some space. Heats up very quick and cools down even quicker so no worrying. Lots of tips that come with it. My only question is what is the black lump on the side, is that for an attachment. I would highly recommend. Thinking for buying a 2nd one for a spare.
Since my purchase, I only have recently come to use it ,as I only use a soldering iron to repair various items as and when it is needed. This tool was a replacement for my existing iron, very impressed by the temperature control and it did heat up faster than my previous tool. I repaired the connection between the two wires of the car inflation pump to cigar plug in no time at all, whereas my daughter was all for buying a new pump.
Great portable soldering kit ,everything you need in one neat case. I have a soldering station but it has to remain in one place, unlike this great well priced kit.
Have used the iron and associated accessories for doing work on a small practice amplifier. All soldering left the transistors undamaged and the iron is a joy to use. Many thanks – it`s just what I needed B.W.
Comes in a nice case and a useful waterproof bag. Soldering iron seemed a bit flimsy and the temperature adjusting knob a little too small, not easy to read the temperature settings. Did the job I wanted it for and at a price I was happy to pay. If I wanted it to do lots of jobs then I might have second thoughts.
everything I need to start in the world of electronics
Beautiful wood burner. Makes your pyrography crafts easier than ever. Pen has many different ends depending on what you do as the machine has different temperatures settings depending on type of the material you are working on . Perfect buy!
It got hot quite quickly, was easy to use, solder could be of a better quality.
I bought this soldering kit to upgrade a pair of electric guitar pickups and replace a selection switch, as well as keep on hand for cable repairs and whatever else may come up.
The soldering iron works great at lowest heat setting, although I didn’t use the provided lead free solder but rather a 63/37 lead based solder as it has a lower melting temperature and better flow. What pleasantly surprised me was the extra notch on the on-off switch which turns on 3 little lights (leds) shining in the direction the iron is pointing. This really helped me see what I was doing.
The rest of the tools in the box came in handy even though you might want to buy a decent wire stripper for thinner wire.
The multi-meter was a little intermittent on the resistance measurement but perhaps all it needs is a new battery. The jury is till out on that one, hence the 4 stars
Researched an auction site for a fine tipped temp controlled soldering iron. Couldn’t find anything of interest and also long delivery time from China. So found this one on amazon. Delivered next day and with more features than competitors. Great value for money very pleased with it. Soldering LED strips into model railway coaches at 00 gauge.
I’ve had plenty of soldering irons of this kind. My brother got his last one from this brand and he holds it to high esteem. I got one for my bench and so far a couple projects where I soldered 100+ in a row it gave me no problems and no power issues holding steady temperature all the time.
The tips it comes with are good.
The vacuum desoldering syringe works well.
Included solder wire is plentiful.
Tweezers is a plus.
For the price it is excellent. No light up screen nonsense and the temp selector is firm enough that it doesn’t spin accidentally (which happened all the time with my previous iron and is super annoying).
I must say I got it because the previous one I plugged in and died within 30 mins. Straight to amazon returns.
All around, a simple tool that gets the job done reliably for hours on end. Good stuff at a bargain price.
Bought this to use more for joining and repairing 3d printed parts than for wood etching and it does a great job. The temp control allows you to set it just right so as not to burn the PLA or PETG and the large number of tips supplied allow you to get into tight spaces. Just what I wanted it for.
Have given it a quick try on some wooden coasters I had lying around and was able to get a consistent “etch” going.
Has everything in this set you need to do the job.
It is a handy little iron, I been soldering on electronic units for 50 years, this is very suitable for my requirements.
The expedition was normal it took close to 4 weeks to arrive. The soldering iron has already been tested and serves its intended use without problems. Although the temperature reaches 450 Degrees, it is not recommended at all to use this temperature in spite of the quality of the device, it does not do well with a very high temperature, other than that (for the price) it serves perfectly well.
The case is good you get a bunch of extras that are always useful. The quality seems ok, I am only a light user. It got up to temp ok and did the job. I changed the bit the ease. All good stuff and at a good price. My two gripes are that the solder is fluxless and no flux comes with the kit so that was an extra task, indeed a necessity that I had to fulfill. Also a more minor gripe is that I would have preferred solder removal braid rather than a solder sucke
I had some of the tools I needed for soldering already like a multimeter, but having them all together in a case means it’s much easier to just reach for it for a job.
I prefer the new multimeter in the kit to my old as it has a lit display that’s been working well in the midday sun or when it gets dark.
I was also surprised how quickly the soldering iron came to temperature as it means I’m not waiting 5 mins after grabbing to start. Pairing it with a good soldering station and you’re good to go or keep it in the case together if you do repair less often.
Highly recommend.
I already have a Preciva desktop style soldering iron which is awesome so when I saw this little mobile soldering kit Ordered it straight away! Everything you could possibly need for automotive or just general use, mine was used the day I received it whilst working on a friends car to perform some electrical wiring repairs. Nice that the iron has temperature control and the Multimeter is fantastic, highly recommend this soldering kit, brilliant value for money.
Very satisfied with this purchase. It comes very well packed and protected just like if it was a gift!
It heats in seconds, the temperature control works correctly and the accessories are more than enough.
Very good for the price
I’m really impressed with this kit. Great for repairing some electronics I had, the multimeter was really useful in diagnosing the problem and the soldering iron did the job!
Arrived from Amazon next day delivery well packaged. Opening the box the Preciva case is contained in a zip up plastic bag. On opening the contents is all as described with full operating instructions. I was not surprised at the professional quality of components fitted with UK plug, the multimeter even has battery fitted and the soldering iron has handy led lights for those difficult places.I would not hesitate to recommend this product as value for money.
Worked great straight out of the box, meter is a good one, batteries included, the soldering iron is just spot on, used it on some small soldering parts and it’s quick to heat up, love the case to keep it all together, amazing but of ki
Really handy case and love the fact the multi meter has a backlight, the led light on the solder iron along with different attachments really is ideal only got it today for a wee project as my gas solder is left in my tool box in the van.
Excellent soldering iron kit, everything you need all in a great neat pouch, a sprung solder sucker, lots of different shaped tips, solder, little cleaning sponge and iron holder. Very quick to heat up, led to show when it’s switched on and variable temperature too, what more could you ask for?!
No problem with this bit of kit like the fact that you can alter the temperature and actually turn the iron on and off and comes with a nice little case.
Only used this soldering iron once and having never used one before – it did what it needed to do and was easy to use.
I got this to replace my Draper Soldering Iron which had packed up with very little use.
The temperature control is good I started it and slowly turned it up until it melted the solder which was about half way, This should make the Tip last a lot longer I have had to replace tips with other soldering irons because they burn out as they just get hotter & hotter. The on/off button is handy as it only takes seconds to get to the right temperature again. While I had it out I had a play with some of the Pyrography bits on a bit of scrap wood and was impressed with the results, I will enjoy adding some decoration to my fretwork projects.
This is a nice piece of kit which conveniently comes with interchangeable heads, tweezers, stand for the hot iron and some solder. It’s been a long while since I’ve done any soldering, and it worked very nicely for what I needed it for. There’s convenient on/off switch and an LED light to show it’s on. However, the temperature control has no scale of any sort on it (not even a high-low). So you can’t get an impression of when you start heating it up whether it’s on a cooler or hotter setting and those temperatures the only way to tell is if it does the job you want it for. For anybody starting out. Some flux would be useful for those starting out and not familiar with soldering.
This item is perfect the solder is one of the best I have used no dirty residue and very accurate temperature control had a few questions and seller responded very quickly and very polite I have all ready recommended this seller to many people
Good soldering iron, getting use to using a soldering iron again after many years
Was worried about other reviews I had read, so much so I nearly didn’t even plug it in! But I braved it and it has been pretty good. I find the brass tips are not very useful but the silver coloured ones are better. Good starter pen, has made me want a more expensive type now that I have practised. Pen becomes hot after about half an hour use, but instructions say to turn off after half an hour to rest it anyway. Temperature needs to be quite high to get good results.
Preciva soldering iron set is a great value piece of kit.
Comes with nice cover that fits all components.
You’ve got good quality solder, 5 spare tips plus suction tool to remove old solder and tweezers and small stand with cleaning pad.
Soldering iron heating up rapidly makes it ready to use very quickly. You can adjust working temperature to your needs.
On/off swith is very handy too.
Overall in my opinion its a great soldering kit.
Definitely worth every penny.
This is a very versatile soldering iron. It can be used as a soldering iron or as a wood engraving pen.
For me the main use will be as a soldering iron but the wood engraving tips are a nice bonus, and for me they are a bit of fun.
To start wood engraving you just screw on one of the (many) wood burning tips, plug it in and away you go! It takes a bit of getting used to knowing how hard to press etc, but there are plenty of small bits of heart shaped wood included to get you going.
The soldering iron has a nice soft rubber grip to hold it with. It has an inline power switch which is very useful. It comes with a few different soldering tips as well as some solder. It heats up very quickly and it solders which is what I look for in a soldering iron!
This compact case includes everything you need to get you going with soldering jobs.
One of the best soldering Iron kits I’ve seen. As an electronics engineer I do a considerable amount of soldering and the best irons are normally temperature controlled; This iron isn’t temperature controlled but it works very well. It didn’t take a great deal of time to heat up, the solder flowed smoothly and the iron was easy to grip and use. The kit supplied also came with a desoldering pump which worked perfectly for removing solder and rectifying mistakes. If I were to make a negative comment it would be that the stand supplied was not particularly robust and could be better, the metal was very thin and the stand isn’t weighted to could tip over easily.
The kit was also supplied with burning attachments for people who like to burn pictures and text onto the surface of wood. I’m not really artistic so I haven’t tried out these attachments. That said all the equipment is provided and looks to be up to the task. Some small heart shaped pieces of wood were supply for practice…I should make something for my wife!
