Love these. They made cutting through some shrubs (approx 2 – 3″ thick) so easy. Easy to use and the blade folds nicely into the handle for safety.

This is a great pruning saw cut some large shrubs down easily, some around 3 inch dia. Opens and closes easily with a well placed catch, just be careful where you leave your fingers. Common sense really. Ouch.

This tool is perfect for sawing down chunky tree branches, which is the reason I bought it. It’s very very sharp, easy to position into awkward spaces, nice and light and slices through efficiently and quickly. Despite having a feebly weak wrist, I had no problems using this saw. Totally recommend.

Excellent budget pruning tool, used to attack old and thick ivy stems, made short work of them up to 5cm thick. Struggles a bit wth anything thicker. But great value.

Very impressed. Purchased to cut down bamboo after my previous one broke. Much prefer this one, the handle is more stable and extremely sharp. Did a good job

Great, Cuts well. The bright colour may help me find it more easily of I drop this one in the undergrowth.

This saw is amazing! I’ve just cut down and sawn up the pieces of a 15 ft bay tree using only this saw. It is so comfortable to hold and slices through branches like a hot knife through butter. I was going to have the tree removed professionally but I’ve saved a few hundred quid by using this instead. Customer for life!

Does exactly what it needs to. I’ve used it several times and lent it out to friends. Takes a little effort on the thicker branches but that’s to be expected. Impressed with its ease of use. Perfect for what I needed 🙂 would recommend!

I’ll be honest and start this review by saying that I use this in a different capacity than most – This sits in my bergen and is used to process firewood when I’m doing bushcraft.

Sizing wise, I didn’t expect it to be as big as it is, usually when something looks big in the pictures, it’s smaller in person… Not this, I’d probably say the pictures make it look smaller than it actually is, which isn’t a big deal.

It’s also sharp, the blade is easy to change, and there’s multiple locking positions whilst the saw is in use, if your cack handed like myself, it’s a useful feature.

Ergonomics, I don’t find it overly comfortable to use – I’m used to using axes, hatchets and large knives to process wood, so that might be why I’m struggling with the hand position on the saw, although saying that, it does seem better suited to people with large hands than medium or small hands.

For the price, your getting a sturdy bit of kit, which will more than do the job, so in that sense you can’t go wrong.

If you’ve got smaller hands, I’d suggest looking for something slightly smaller in size though.

I needed a saw to cut some branches off a fir tree that were too thick (70 mm) for the loppers. The saw worked very well, cutting through the wet, sappy wood with ease. The saw felt firm and safe in my hand. (I only bother to write reviews if I’m very impressed with an item or very disappointed.)

I found this great for lopping medium size branches and stripping ivy off a fence. It’s very easy to use. Sometimes if one of the “teeth” on the blade get distorted it’s a bit difficult to get the blade to fold away, and you do need to be very careful when handling it as it is so sharp. All in all very good value for the price.

I had a 5 m high holly tree allowed to grow wild with 3-4 m branches in tight corner of garden close to neighbouring fences so litte room to move. Electric saw too unwieldy for cutting the trunk and saws I have just kept getting stuck. I didnt want to buy a chain saw for just one job so thought after reading reviews would give this saw a try. Climbed the ladder and started sawing. Cut through the width of the blade in no time and as long as I kept it level cut through the rest with relative ease taking a few short breaks to give my arm a rest. Roped up the section of the trunk I was cutting so I could pull it to drop in the right direction away from the fence and managed to pull the section over so the last few cuts when it was left hanging just allowed me to make a precise cut so I could just pull it over to the spot where I wanted it to drop. I am now on the fourth section and still surprised at what seemed like a light weight saw has managed to cut. Seems I have got my moneys worth

I had a snowberry hedge removed last year but a few small stumps were left, causing a tripping hazard, The saw cut through the stumps very easily. Loved the fact the blade can be retracted for safety reasons. Will get a great deal of use cutting small branches during the coming year. Great addition to any gardeners tool shed!

I bought this saw in 2020 and have used it on almost every canoe and camping trip I go on. I cannot say anything negative about this product but due to the amount of use, it has become a bit blunt and not cutting as good as it used to. My question to the seller is, do you sell replacement blades or do i have to buy the entire saw again? I hope you do sell blades because it seems a waste to dispose of the handle when it’s still in top condition. While i’m here i might as well provide some detail on the product – it’s very comfortable to hold, and cuts through any type of wood whether wet or dry. As mentioned, i have used it almost every other week for well over a year and it’s never let me down. For the price, I cannot recommend this product enough. My friend has another brand with a shorter blade and it doesn’t come anywhere near this product in terms of comfort, and how easily it cuts through logs. Very happy with this purchase.

This saw really did suprise me. I had to cut down a small/young goat willow tree that was growing through a fence in my garden. It was in a tricky position that meant it would not be easy to use a normal saw so tought I would try this since it was pretty cheap.
The branches on this tree were a maxium of around 4 inches in diameter and this little saw went through them with no trouble. Most of the time I was using it one handed due to holding other items/branches out the way so yes, very little effort needed.

I needed this saw to cut down an old Magnolia tree in the garden that had become diseased. I must admit, it was fantastic and cut down the tree with such ease. Obviously, some effort was needed but saved me so much money in splashing out for an electric saw for a one-off job. Used it since for another job in the garden and this definitely makes light work of things This is a whole new generation of saw.

I have been using the excellent Davaon ratchet secateurs for a while so when I needed a pruning saw it made sense to look at the Davaon offering. After years cutting branches with a standard woodworking saw I came to my senses and bought the correct tool fo the job. What a difference this saw makes, it rips through the wood in a tenth of the time, it’s multiple teeth and their viscous profile cut through with ease. Not the first Davaon product I’ve bought, always good quality and service from them, highly recommended.

Compelled to review the excellence of this piece of equipment. Used constantly since December cutting through a forest of trees and branches. The singularly bit of gardening equipment that cannot be bettered or improved upon. Having tried numerous hacksaws, ripsaws and chainsaw often heavy, cumbersome and awkward, this magic tool is cutting through 6 inch trucks effortlessly with no decrease in blade efficiency.
“Purchased previously and totally impressed with quality and ability performance to make short work out of most heavy garden tasks. Having received my pruning saw last week I found that it was amazing for cutting through all the branches and some tree trunks too. Unfortunately the tip snapped off (about 15mm from the tip of the saw). It happens, sometimes you get a defected product. Straight away I got in touch with Davaon, on a Sunday I might add and they responded straight away. A new saw was with me in a couple of days. I cannot fault the excellent communication and fantastic customer service. That alone will make me always check out Davaon products first before I buy any other gardening products…. 5 star product! 5 star customer service!

What a tool! I have used this saw to cut the top out of a 10+ meter tall willow. It cut through 70 – 80mm branches with ease. Much easier to use than a bow saw, and safer! The blade is remarkable. It is the sharpest blade that I have ever used and never gets jammed. I know that this sounds like an advertisement, but I promise you that it is not. Trust me, it it worth every penny. There is no sign of it loosing its edge, but if it does, I hope that I can get a replacement blade. I would definitely recommend this tool.

.Four stars as not yet used too much. Initial results on Macro and Long Zoom have been very pleasing. I do find the control wheel difficult when trying to make adjustments in ‘P’ mode. To change the aperture/speed requires only rotation of the wheel, but it is too easy to push it forwards changing its function. Haven’t tried 4K or post focus yet. It takes quite a bit of time getting used to all the settings offered, so I’ll need to be patient. However, lots of support videos available on YouTube.

This pruning saw is brilliant, I cannot praise it enough,I had 9 conifer trees to cut back to the trunks, it cut through some branches which were about 60 mm diameter with ease, and also you can saw in tight areas where you couldn’t use a traditional saw, you could use both hands if needed, I liked the fact that it cut on the back stroke, my only negative is the fact I wanted to purchase a spare blade, but I didn’t see that feature on the web site.

A brilliant saw, perfect for the job.

Purchase to cut through medium sized tree branches and was surprised how easy it was, I originally used a hand saw and struggled as the teeth blocked easily then Purchased this saw after reading reviews and wow it’s made my life at lot easier. Don’t force the saw, gently strokes and it goes through like a knife through butter, would recommend to others.

We have really thick bramble stalks and all sorts wood, bushes and branches. The area is really wild and over crowded so it has resulted in many things dying off but this saw cuts through small branches, bushes etc so easily. Thats what i had hoped for but we have even taken down a trees which were a threat to property and cleared areas ready for replanting. One tree had a trunk of approx 30cm diameter and was about 5 metres tall but this little saw tackled it well. Yes you have to put in the elbow work but with this saw you can’t go wrong. Needless to say we have planted lots of other trees to make up for the ones cut back and pruned. The blade is a good size too as when looking around many similar looking ones had smaller blades. It so easy to use and i would definitely recommend.

I ordered this as a disposable saw for cutting through a lot of tree roots about 10cm diameter. It did the job very quickly, and despite having soil on the blade during cutting it remained sharp and I will keep it until it becomes blunt. The only down side, is the blade is a bit wobbly where it meets the handle, but fine for the price I paid.

This is a very sharp saw, however on the first attempt of using it to cut a branch the tip has snapped off. Bit disappointed but for 12.99 can’t really complai

Cuts very well and cleanly . Blade is quite long so there is some flex. When you close it occasionally have to guide the end of the blade into the recess into the handle as it may not not line up . Overall pleased with product.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersLike others who have reviewed this product, I found this easy to use and managed to cut through branches that “trapped” my bow saw and halted any further sawing.

One important thing to stress; LET THE SAW BLADE DO THE WORK. There is no need to exert any pressure in order to cut through a branch. Exerting pressure on the blade makes sawing more difficult.

    Thoroughly recommended.

Really sharp fold out pruning saw, there is a bit of flex in the blade I was expecting something a bit sturdier, it did cut through a big round branch, that my old rusty wood saw was idling on.

I used it without gloves and the back of my hand touched the blade leaving a nasty cut, so take extra care if you buy one.

I wanted this to cut down a small tree in my front garden, started it off great but half way through i could already feel the blade becoming a little duller and i didn’t feel as safe using it, although i’m sure it would be fine and i don’t regret buying it as i always have branches from other trees and shrubs to cut.

I have bought this ready for pruning season but not used it yet due to poor weather. Hence the 4 star rating. However impressed with the look of the item and grateful for the advice that came with it. Using tools of this type is not my forte

This saw has a very sharp blade. On arrival the blade is folded into the handle, you have to pull the blade out and lock it into a cutting position. Equally you need to hold the handle, depress a knob and fold it back into the blade for storage. If you are careless you could fold the blade onto your fingers or have some other sort of accident.
the blade cuts well and is best suited to sawing across the grain. The whole saw is fairly compact and can get into small spaces. There is very little set to the blades so it can jam in the cut. this can be avoided by bending the branch enough to keep the cut open.

It wouldn’t appear anyone would require further convincing that this is a quality product, but if any more were required, then here it is:

If, like me, you needed a thing like this to do the kind of thing I needed to do, or something similar within the parameters laid out for its use, then I wholeheartedly recommend this particular thing to do it.
    Excellent quality.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersMy Fiskars pruning saw was blunt and as I searched for another, I came across this one. The reviews were excellent and the mentions of positive customer service from the company, was reassuring. I’m not very well, including having CFS, so sawing things in the garden is absolutely exhausting. The better the product, the better my experience, hence buying the Fiskars one before, as I know they have a good reputation and I always buy their products. I trust them.

This is incredible. It has a much better blade, with lots of cutting teeth and It cut through really thick trunks of buddleias, really easily. I feel secure using it, it feels strong and more than capable of doing the jobs I need it to do. I’m very impressed with this. It genuinely has made some hard jobs much easier. I can’t recommend it highly enough.

Golden Review Award: 18 From Our UsersJust saved myself a small fortune by pruning and cutting down my overgrown cherry tree which had grown to 18 feet high. Using a sturdy ladder, I firstly lopped off the smaller side shooting branches and those which had sprouted straight up in the air with a pair of strong tree loppers to reveal the main thick branches of the tree. These were fairly substantial branches over 6 inches in circumference and this little miracle tree saw soon made light work of the whole tree. It truly is an unbelievable piece of kit cutting through the branches with hardly any effort at all. The secret of success in not to work hard at cutting through the branches but to let the extremely sharp saw do the work for you. Just rest the teeth of the saw on the branch and just move the saw back and forth and once you get into a rhythm the saw cuts effortlessly through the wet wood of the tree. Best purchase I’ve made in years for so small a price. Can’t praise this little gem enough but watch out…..this saw is not for leaving out around the home or garden as it is a 3 teeth set cutter and makes Jaws look like a goldfish in comparison as it is so sharp and made of quality materials. Comfortable to hold and use so no aching hands and arms and you don’t feel as if you’ve done the London Marathon a couple of time either. I’m 72 years old and the whole project was a doddle with this cutter even for me at my age !

I used one for an hour before ordering and it worked fantastically.
I quickly researched on Amazon and learnt a bit about them from all the designs and some were survivalist angled, others more for budget gardening. I noticed that the carbon content was important.
Yours seemed to be the best price for the carbon and triple cut blade is good. Also being the most popular on Amazon too helped.
So I’m looking forward to camping with it.
Thank you for such a useful handy sized tool.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersI had a pruning saw for years. They are so useful. Somebody borrowed it and broke it.

So this Davalon Pruning Saw was its replacement. I am impressed as I was a bit concerned as I did not recognise the make and I needed a sturdy item.

It is really good. Already I have reduced my Cordyline tree by 2/3 and that the wood is very dense. No problem.

Had to saw some well aged Oak fence posts that were really solid. Again no problem.

    So Really pleased with it.

The Seller also made the effort to produce a useful guide. Made it clear that help was there if needed but everything going smoothly so far.

I read a review saying this was the best saw someone had bought. It sold me. And they weren’t lying. I am so pleased with this purchase!!! I am a petit woman and I have been able to cut down some pretty sizeable branches and trees with this thing no problem. It super easy to use and definitely get the job done. Don’t hesitate, just buy. It will expand DIY possibilities.

WOW , this thing cut through the stump of a tree like a hot knife through butter . Im amazed at how little effort i had to use.

However, take a look at my picture. The product claims its rust resistant. That was after cutting the stump then stored in my garage. If it came with a spare blade / the blade was stainless steel id have reviewed 5 stars. But after one use, that much rust is pretty bad.

    Rusts quick but extremely sharp

What can I say other than I purchased this to assist in cutting down a number of slim trunk pine trees in my garden and it does the job brilliantly. It arrived whilst I was in work and by the time I got home my wife had cut down three trees already and she met me with a big grin saying “this thing cuts through these trees like a hot knife through butter” I am just hoping she is going to let me try them sometime

I brought this item to saw down a 15 year old thick bushy in the garden which had 4 trunks to it. It did the job with very little effort and time (about 20 minutes to cut 4 x 5inch trunks down.
Go careful as the blade is really sharp . My only criticism was the blade was very flexible which caused it to snag a couple of times. Apart from that I would definitely recommend

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersThis is a nice compact garden hand saw for pruning. I bought it to trim some branches from a tree but have used it all over the garden on various items. It does the job, you still need to put some effort in but it works, is sharp so be careful, it cleans up nice with a damp cloth and folds back into handle when not is use. Pleased with purchase and got an email from customer on the item which was a nice touch.

Description accurately reflects the quality of the blade. Cuts on both push and pull. Were I designing it – and I am a professional qualified gardener – I would have put a slight curve on the blade to allow access into tight areas.

I would have been happier to see a price point of about 10 bearing in mind I picked up a similar but slightly smaller one in Lidl for under 5 recently.

This pruning saw is comfortable to hold and is equipped with a locking button to hold it in the safe closed position.
By pressing the button you can pull the blade out into three different positions for convenient cutting angles. The blade is fairly robust but can flex under too much pressure and with a very sharp but coarse cutting edge it is advised to apply light but firm strokes. Have only limited use with this saw since purchased but for branches up to about 1 inch diameter it does a good job for me.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersThis has a premium feel and was certainly worth the money. I am pleasantly surprised that it has worked out so well and that it does exactly what I wanted it for. I have loads of different types of bushes and leylandiis and needed to cut back the garden to ‘dog-proof’ the garden/perimeter. Instead of overpaying somebody to do it or buying/renting a chainsaw, I used this and have successfully cut back & de-branched the leylandiis. I also had to remove a thorn bush & it cut through the wide stump/stalk. It makes easy work of smaller branches by the comfortable and safe hand grip and the triple-teeth work really well for the tough thick branches, especially if you’re in a tight position & you don’t have much elbow room. The key to it is to treat it with respect…in order to keep safe (when opening & closing it – there is a safety latch) and in order to use it efficiently (don’t always force & just let the teeth do the work). I should really have attached some photos of the thickness I cut in to. If you complain that it doesn’t cut whatever thickness then remember it is a hand-tool which I think cuts way above its apparent capability and buy a power tool such as a chainsaw instead. I am not taking down a tree with it and am really happy with the product. Keep it out of reach of kids as it is sharp and always use the safety close function when not in use (even if you are reaching for it half way up a bush!).

Golden Review Award: 8 From Our UsersVery handy (compared to the alternative 20 inch B&Q wood saw I had 🙂
Light weight, good grip and very sharp – handle carefully.
Has safety release button and three saw positions.
First position is primarily for blade release whilst second and third is for cutting respectively.
If your cutting a thick branch, make sure you choose a good angle before starting.
Use smooth swift actions or take a breather before continuing further, as blade can flex or wobble slightly if your are not careful.

    Cuts Well

I am very impressed by this very useful garden tool, which arrived the day after I ordered it ! I have just used it to prune a large Ceonothus and I had no problem at all cutting through the thicker branches. It has a very sharp blade. The saw folds away for easy, safe storage. The seller emailed full safety and maintenance instructions before the item arrived, which I thought was very good customer service. I am very happy with both the Pruning Saw and the first rate service from the seller.

The Davaon Pro Pruning Saw appears to be a well made and sturdy product. The hand grip has a comfortable and re-assurring feel that it won’t slip in use. I like the way that the blade safely locks away in to the handle for safe storage and that it can be set at various angles to make the job of pruning easier in difficult situations e.g. where the branch is close to the fence. or a wall. All in all, I have found it to be the right tool for the job and I am very happy with my purchase.

so bought this saw with a view to use it primarily as a bushcraft too, needed something sturdy and able to fold down to save space and maybe a little weight. to date it has been an excellent tool, its got a great grip, very comfy to hold and use and rips through wood at rapid rates of kntots. The blade cuts as effective as ever although it has had much use in its short life with me and I was so very much impressed that im thinking this would make an excellent gift for a fellow outdoorsman..so, highly recommend this saw…

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersI’m using this saw in conjunction with the same manufacturer’s loppers (reviewed separately), working on cutting back a high leylandii hedge (up to 25′ high in places) now that I’ve finally retired from work….
This is a comfortable saw to use, easy to grip, and cuts extremely well once you get a rhythm going; it’s cutting branches/trunks 6-8″ in diameter without too much difficulty, and makes short work of them once felled, along with the loppers.
Overall, a good-quality saw, comfortable to use; just like any tool, it’s important to take good care of it during and after use.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersBought this to help cut down a bush/ tree that had grown far too close to the property. Was expecting the knife to pack in halfway through due to the price, but it held strong, cut the bush right down to the base and is still intact! Very impressed. I will be using this to cut back another overgrown bush at the back of the garden during winter- just waiting for it to die off first. Safety lock is a great feature as you feel safe using the saw. It can take a bit to get started because of the large teeth on the saw, but if you start lightly you will soon get a rhythm going.

Golden Review Award: 31 From Our UsersThis pruning saw is brilliant. I’ve been able to remove branches I’d been unable to tackle using my old saw. I’m an older user with arthritis in shoulder and hands. My grip’s not as good as it used to be and I’m not as strong. This is very frustrating as jobs I used to tackle without a second thought have proved challenging.

The metal Spring clip securing the blade in folded position is strong and easy to use to both open and close. The handle is incredibly comfortable; I held it towards the end of the handle and the curve at the base seems to fit the hand, and it’s soft to hold. The blade looks quite fearsome. I first tackled a branch that was just too big for loppers. I took the seller’s advice; let the blade do the work. In other words, there’s no need to apply pressure. Once the blade bites the wood, holding it lightly I quickly found a sawing rhythm and to my astonishment, the branch was off in literally seconds. I was delighted and removed half a dozen thick hawthorn trunks in just a few minutes. I tried it on a larger sycamore branch, pushing 6″ in diameter. It sliced through it with very little effort. This tool is going to transform my garden with relative ease. I’ve had other pruning saws over the years; none have matched this and I can’t recommend it highly enough.
