his is a great deal. Not only do you get a well made, strong and sharp saw but you get a spare blade as well.

It fits the hand well, cuts on both forward and back stroke and needs minimal effort to remove the branch.

Very pleased with the product and the quick delivery.

Not only is this pruning saw comfortable to hold and sharp as a razor, it comes with a replacement blade and a sturdy cover for the blade, both great little extras. Strongly recommended.

So glad to have this as an addition to my basic gardening tools. My rose bushes can get some really thick parts that shears can’t easily cut through so I have used this and it works very well! An inexpensive tool to have on hand or to add to your camping gear to use to gather materials for a fire.

These came fast love the fact that I get a second blade they work well. I trim trees hanging over my fence . The cover for the blade is plastic that’s great can clean easy but it isn’t large enough to hold the second blade you have to store uncovered.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersAs a professional orchard pruner who uses saws every day all year round I was astounded by the quality of the cutting edge of this blade. It is as good as the very expensive brands. The quality of the handle and holster are relatively poor, the handle is not ergonomic but comfortable enough and gives good grip whilst wearing rubber palmed gloves and is long enough for a double handed grip. The blade is so sharp that to start off I thought it defective as it stuck in the wood and gave a juddery feel to the cut, until I realised I was pressing too hard, and this is what was causing it to stick. What is needed is to simply glide the blade over the branch and let the blade do the work. The tip is slim enough to slip into small spaces between branches so it is not necessary to carry a smaller blade as well. It has halved the effort needed to do an orchard that needs many large branches removed. You have to get used to the poor quality open sided holster, but its easy to get the knack. For this price it is superb, but with a spare blade included it is an unbelievable good buy. Was trying to re order but its out of stock…..

Honestly, for $20, this is a very decent pruning saw, especially considering the fact that there is an entire extra blade that is included. My same size and style Corona saw costs twice as much and only comes with one blade. The saw teeth are sharp and it does a decent job of cutting, all things considered. As you can see in the images, I was able to cut a roughly 4 inch stem of a foxtail agave with relative ease. I found the handle relatively ergonomic and the angle natural feeling, but one issue was tightening the Chicago screws that hold the blade in place in the handle. One side is philips and the other smooth making it difficult to really torque down confidently. Even still i was able tighten it well enough to do all the winter pruning I needed on one small dwarf tree without the blade loosening up. Is it the best, highest quality saw that you’ll pass down as an heirloom? No. But it’s functional and pretty sturdy, and I’d imagine it would last the average gardener like me that’s pruning a few limbs only a few times a year multiple seasons per blade. For the price of a dinner, that’s not too shabby. 4/5 stars.

I have to say, after having to use the saw earlier today to remove a large fallen tree, I would give it a big 5.

A great piece of equipment, it handled the tree and subsequent branches/limbs with ease and is an amazing addition to anyone’s arsenal.

I had some limbs to cut, this saw handled them fine. Some were small (less than 1″), others were larger. This saw cut all sizes equally well. The curved blade made it easy to get into some tight corners. I am happy with this purchase.

This saw comes with a cover/holster and something that looks like you could string a wide belt through, so it must be to carry on your belt. It also comes with an extra blade, which is very nice, in case of breakage from hard use or the blade gets dull. Right now, both blades are very sharp and they come with a plastic cover for cutting protection and I appreciate that. It’s great for small to medium fruit tree limbs or cutting down my banana trees. The only drawback is that the handle is not built for comfort, strictly utilitarian, cut in wood with no attempt at craft. It may not be an issue, but it does make the saw look cheaper. Other than that, all good, I’ll use it a lot.

This pruning saw is great for cutting small branches. There are 2 very sharp blades–one with smaller teeth and one with larger teeth for larger branches. The curve of the saw is perfect, and the handle is comfortable to hold. This is an outstanding pruning saw.

I do a lot of work in my yard, and I take pride in being able to prune and trim shrubs and trees myself without having to call a service. I took this pruning saw out recently to work on thinning an overgrown rhododendron and I’d say for the most part it did a good job. The curved handle fits nicely in the hand, and even though the blade cover is a little flimsy, I like having at least something. I did notice that the more I used the saw, the more loose and kind of wobbly the blade seemed in the housing. I tightened the screws and that seemed to help, but I’m not sure this saw is as sturdy as I would like for larger jobs like tree or thick shrub branches. For smaller jobs, I think it works just fine.

I like this hand pruning saw. I liked that it came with a sheath, an additional blade, and easy to follow instructions on warranty registration. It is lightweight and easy to control with my hand. I at first noticed some flex but realized that the screws affixing the blade to the handle needed to be tightened. I used this on cutting down a thick shrub stalk instead of having to drag out my electric saw. It was quick and did the job. A nice addition to my home gardening tools.

Summary: I own a half dozen pruning saws, so I compared this one to two others (listed below).

    Observations:
The saw blade cannot be sufficiently tightened in the handle because the holes in the wood are too large. also, there aren’t slots to grab the female connector. the fix was to use a vise-grip pliers to hold the connector, and remove the screw. I then cut grooves into the connectors with a hack saw (see pic). After which, I could tighten the handle to blade sufficiently. The fix the oversized holes in the wood handle, I applied electrical tape around the female connector body to take up the slop. Before tightening, the blade to handle play was significantly reduced.

    Recommendations:
    1) Once you’re done cutting for the day, use a stiff bristle brush to clean out the teeth, then coat the blade in WD-40, or other preservative.

    2) The saws will stay sharp for a very long time, given you do not hit rocks when cutting near the ground. Plan your cuts, and remove foliage before executing a branch or trunk cut.

    TESTING:
To test, I cut down some palm trees, most were 3″ to 5″ in diameter. This was a previously pruned groove that grew back. The largest trunk, about 5″ was about 15′ tall. The saw cuts cleaning, and I was able to apply proper felling notches to get the trunk to fall where I desired. This is a testament to the sharpness of the blade.

    Pros:
    1) extra blade, 2) sharp, cuts well, 3) sheath included (but mine was missing a belt clip).

    Cons:
My sheath did not come with a belt clip, but there was a rivet in the package, so looks like it fell off, either in the warehouse, or in transit.

    Conclusion:
Overall a decent saw, especially if you apply the easy fixes. Recommended for the home owner, not professional.

I’m pleasantly surprised by how much I like this saw. I expected a decent but unimpressive budget tool, but it’s actually quite good and I’d put it up against other saws that sell for a lot more money.

The handle is sturdy and fits my hand well, which makes for a much more pleasant experience while working. The blade seems to be well-made and durable, and it’s incredibly sharp and doesn’t seem to be dulling too fast, even after some fairly serious work in some of my trees. And when the blade finally does give out, they’ve included a spare, effectively doubling the life of a tool that already seems like a good deal.

Admittedly, I’m less impressed by the sheath. While it does what it needs to do in terms of keeping the blade safe in storage, it’s a fairly cheap piece of hard plastic. There’s nothing wrong with it per se, but it’s not up to the same quality as the tool itself. That having been said, I can’t really complain just because the sheath seems to have been a bit of an afterthought in the design process. It’s perfectly functional, and a good argument can be made that it’s better to have a cheaper sheath and keep the price down than it would be to have an elegant sheath that would significantly increase the cost of the tool.

If you have to remove some tree branches, or if you just want to expand your tool collection, I think you’ll be pleased with this saw.

This saw is great for pruning jobs around the garden, but it would be also great for camping trips to cut brush and wood.

Very heavy duty but easily manageable with one hand. Nice grip.

    Comes with a protective sheath.

Just what I needed for the branches too big for the prruners. The sheath fits on belt. There is an extra blade. The only negative is that where the blade joins hilt is a bit loose, not quite as strong as I’d like. Still overall a very nice tool. I recieved this product free and am leaving my honest review.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our Users$16 for a garden saw. Let this sit. Good saws can be expensive, and this one comes with an extra blade. For this price, as it is, there is nothing to complain about. The ‘pouch’ with a belt loop is floppy hard rubber. I’m not planing to carry it on my belt, and it’s good enough to store it safely. It cuts very quick. I don’t know if these style garden-saws are all like that, but it’s a PULL-saw. Means it cuts to the back, unlike most western saws where you have to PUSH the blade forward. Japanese saws are pull-saws, and they are my favorites to use for woodworking.
I like hand tools for many reasons, one is that they are often quicker to use and less noise than power tools. I’m not a passionate gardener, but I take my time. Since I have it, I don’t want to miss it. It rips through the branches. 3 inches (ca. 8 cm) thick max is what I think it’s comfortable to use.
I have only one issue: The handle. I’m not going to take off a star for it, because for the price it’s absolutely okay. It’s rough and I don’t like the clear coat that is common on many cheap wooden handles. It’s feels sticky after a while, and it gives me blisters, because of the friction to the palm (my hand, not the tree). I prefer fiberglass or unfinished wood. To fix that for me I sanded it down and smoothed down the edges. A dark stain (Minwax Driftwood) and a wipe with oil is what I did, and I like the result. You can also just use linseed oil. The sanding makes such a difference! It takes about an hour to get a ‘better grip’.
A visual detail is that the blade doesn’t follow the curve of the handle. But that’s really nitpicking. It’s not a kitchen knife, so it doesn’t matter.
Five stars, because for under 20 dollars this is a great tool. I’m sure with some basic care to the blade and handle it will last for years. I hope this helps to make a decisio

Great saw, but I couldn’t handle the grip - So I fixed it.

This is a really nice wood handled pruning saw with 2 blades, one comes pre installed. The case is a really cheap soft plastic case that the saw teeth can easily snag on and then it’s difficult to remove from the case. I actually hurt 2 of my fingers pretty bad and had pretty severe bleeding for a while that is fine now but a deep cut like that hurt pretty bad and irritated me for a couple days. My fault of course, but it wouldn’t have happened if the sheath was better quality. There’s also a plastic piece so you can install it on your belt. It’s fine, but poor quality. The second saw blade comes with a protective cover over the teeth, the first one doesn’t because it comes in the sheath.

The handle is wood and has a nice feel to it. Quality on the handle is nicer than expected. The saw blades are very sharp and take down old and new growth tree branches easily. I’m happy with the saw itself and prefer it to a power tool whenever possible. The teeth on these blades are a dual cutting design and are extremely sharp and bite down quickly so you need to be careful with the saw. I was shocked at how easily it cut into my fingers and I was being very careful. I should have had leather gloves on, and I recommend that to anyone using this saw.

This is some impressive saw. When it arrived, it seemed longer than I had imagined it would be. It is a very high quality and nicely made saw. I love that it comes with a protective cover and that it also comes with an extra blade. I can see that the curved design will aid in trimming limbs and make the job much easier. All seems to be a great purchase and I recommend this for all your pruning needs.
