It’s ok. It’s not true HD though. Least it doesn’t look like it is. I use this mainly for tracking my movements within games. Works really well with facial tracking software. I wouldn’t use this to stream due to low image quality and no zoom
I got this for streaming and it is Very nice! The camera Quality is very good. I was really surprised when I first turned it on. My only concern was the Zoom in-picture quality. The image drops resolution and it’s just literally zooming in on the picture. The mount is good and the quality of the material for the entire camera is good as well. This can compete with expensive cameras I guarantee you. (I used a software to blur my background.) Overall I really love this camera. The reason why I gave 4 stars for picture quality is because of the Zoom-in feature. Other than that it’s a great starter to mid camera. I would recommend this!

We have used this on both my iMac and my sons desktop computer with Windows 11 and it’s worked very well on both.

Basically, “digital” zoom means that it “blows up” the image, so the resolution will go DOWN as the picture is zoomed. This is really a great way to allow people who are not too tech-savvy (not gonna use OBS to zoom in– nah, not gonna happen) to “zoom” when using Zoom for meetings or classes. All you have to do is push the button on the camera to zoom it. Simple! Works as advertised and is an all-around decent webcam. Four stars.

Wird die Umgebung jedoch dunkler, z.B. bei indirekter Ausleuchtung durch gedimmte LED-Streifen und sonstigem Dekolicht, kommt der Autofokus teilweise an seine Grenzen.
Hierbei ist auch manchmal ein Blaustich bemerkbar.
Im gesamten bin ich mit der Webcam aber sehr zufrieden, da auch das Preis-/Leistungsverhltnis m.M.n. stimmt.

When you plug your camera in you may notice only the main lights for lighting will turn on and off, this is because the colorful lights around the camera only turn on when the camera is on. The camera quality is great! So clear and the focusing works well. I love this camera and recommend!

Use a separate mic if you have ANY background noise. If there’s no background noise, I think it would suffice for zoom calls, but preferably, get a decent quality mic… you’ll thank yourself. The camera itself has a great capture, easy ring light and privacy slide, and simple mounting. Plug and play, and a good swivel for getting just the right angle. It’s a great little webcam.

I got this SOOMFON camera for the specific use of FaceTime from a wide angle. My partner and I were tired of crowding together in front of the iPad or Mac camera in order to always be in view.
PROS:
(1) The auto focus works well and the mics pick up well even from ten feet away.
(2) Auto brightness seems to work well and is sufficient for most lighting.
CONS:
(1) The zoom button on the front works but takes some getting used to. After setting the camera angle, pushing the zoom button usualy requires enough force that it physically moves the camera and requires a reset.
(2) Picture quality is good but not what I expected from 4K. The camera can do a lot more by using a third party program such as OBS (Free).
Overall, I give this web camera 4.5 stars due to the clumsy operation of the zoom. However, if you want to download third party software as mentioned above you can adjust he zoom via the application.
This camera is good. The picture is very sharp and looks great even when the lighting condition isn’t perfect like when I work with the lights dimmed. What I like the most about this is that it has a hardware shutter – you never know what kind of stuff is running on the corporate laptops so the hard shutter is really appreciated.
My wife and I work 100% remotely so having a Webcam that delivers flawlessly is a BIG DEAL for us! Wasn’t sure what to expect but was pleasantly surprised. Even without optimum lighting.

I loved right out of the box this camera was easy to set up no software just plug and play. It is widescreen normally I had to zoom on OBS to show a more up close quality of the camera. I think its good for the price not going to say the best though. I think there are still more expensive cameras with alot better clarity but this is perfect for my needs. As its plugged in it does not turn on the rgb lights they only come on when you actually have your camera active. This is actually a neat feature though because what I love is there is so much talk of people prying on people through their webcam well with this feature trust me you would know someone is watching cause it would be cycling through the rgb colors. On to the flaw in it besides a little better quality I wish there was a way to shift the rgb to what I want maybe a program to do so or even software I could download would be great. Outside of that though this really is a nice headset for the price and I do recommend it.

Sie bekommen eine wirklich gut verarbeitete Kamera. Ich mag das Design, erinnert an ein gewisses aktuelles Smartphone.
Die Aufnahmen vom Mikrofon sind etwas blechern, klingt etwas als ob man in einen Eimer spricht, aber immerhin verstndlich. Der Autofocus funktioniert gut, ist nur etwas trge.
Die Videos sind scharf und ich habe nichts an den Aufnahmen auszusetzen.
Fr 30 macht man hier absolut nichts falsch und trotz des nicht so tollen Mikrofons spreche ich hier eine Kaufempfehlung aus.

Great product. I ordered for my teenage son. It works with his Xbox and computer. He loves the fact that it has a built in mic. If you are looking for a great gaming Webcam, this gets the job done.
Ich bin ziemlich berrascht, wie gut das Bild ist. Man kann die Kamera nicht nur fr Videokonferenzen benutzen, sondern durchaus auch als Anfnger-Streamer, wenn man nicht gleich viel Geld in teure Kameras investieren kann. Sowohl die Anbringung am Monitor, als auch die Verbindung mit einer bertragungssoftware ist auch fr Anfnger einfach zu bewerkstelligen. Ich empfehle als Software Splitcam. Legt man Wert auf Hautverfeinerung oder witzige Filter kombiniert man dieses mit der Snap Camera von Snapchat. Beides ist kostenlos nutzbar.
Fr gute Beleuchtung empfiehlt sich auf jeden Fall ein LED-Licht, das es bereits zwischen 10 und 30 Euro in Form eines Rings oder eines Panels gibt. Das Geld sollte man unbedingt investieren.
Der Ton ist okay und fr Zoom & Co. durchaus ausreichend gut, ich besitze aber eh ein Kondensator-Mikrofon, das natrlich noch einen besseren Klang bietet.
Sehr gut gefllt mir die Privacy-Klappe, um versehentliche, unerwnschte bertragung verhindern zu knnen.
Fazit: Preis-/Leistung super — Kaufempfehlung!
Die 1080P Webcam von Soomfon wird sowohl unter Windows 10 als auch 11 sofort erkannt und ist ohne weitere Treiberinstallation einsatzbereit. Das USB-Kabel ist dabei mit 1,7 Metern lang genug um sowohl an einem Desktop-PC als auch einem auf dem Boden stehenden Tower-PC angeschlossen zu werden. Fr den Anschluss wird dabei mindestens ein USB-2 Port bentigt.
Die Kamera ist mit ihrer lackierten Oberflche ein echter Blickfang und hat eine Datenschutzfunktion fr vorsichtige Menschen integriert, die ihre Kameras sonst gerne abkleben. Das ist hier nicht ntig. Oberhalb der Linse befindet sich ein kleiner Schiebeschalter, mit dem man eine Platte vor die Kameralinse schieben kann. So ist es nicht mehr mglich die versehentlich eingeschaltete Kamera fr Spionagezwecke zu nutzen.
Das Bild ist mit der 2K Auflsung klar und deutlich. Die Reaktionen beim Bildwechsel sind schnell und die bertragung erfolgt ohne nennenswerte Verzgerungen. Die Rauschunterdrckung macht sich dann beim Ton bemerkbar. Die beiden Mikrofone sind nicht ganz so empfindlich, wie es meine 10 Jahre alte Webcam ist. Whrend ich mit dieser eine Aufnahmestrke der Sprache von 71% habe, liegt die Webcam von Soomfon bei ca. 33% unter gleichen Bedingungen. Hier muss man das Mikrofon dann etwas weiter aufdrehen.
Nur das mitgelieferte Stativ “Unten ist ein Gewinde fr das mitgelieferte Stativ. Sie knnen auch mit einem zustzlichen Stativ (Stativ nicht im Lieferumfang enthalten)” ist dann tatschlich nicht mit dabei 😉
Alles in allem aber eine super Kamera, die mit der integrierten Datenschutzklappe das Design strende Bekleben der Linse unntig macht. Fr aktuell 29,99 bei Amazon zu erwerben, kann man mit der Kamera eigentlich nichts falsch machen. Das Bild ist sehr gut, das Mikrofon mit einer Rauschunterdrckung verbessert und die Optik wirkt edel. Von mir daher gerne 5 Sterne fr die 1080P Webcam von Soomfon.
Diese Webcam kostet momentan 29,99 auf Amazon. Was man hier fr bekommt ist eine Webcam, welche aus meiner Sicht definitiv fr simple Skype Konversationen oder auch fr discord oder Microsoft Teams geeignet ist. Das Bild ist klar, also im Sinne von gut erkenntlich.
Fr anspruchsvollere Anwendungen wrde ich sie aber nicht verwenden, wie z.b. Live Streaming auf Twitch oder YouTube. Dafr ist das Bild dann doch nicht ausreichend, weil es einfach nicht professionell wirkt. Fr den Alltag, z.b. Beruf, aber voll und ganz zufriedenstellend.

This webcam records 1080p 30fps. It produces acceptable sharpness (though JUST A TAD soft) but in the end, for video cam conference calling, this is very sufficient. A few things noticed for me after using it all day for work
1. this does not overhead and shutdown (many cheap cameras shutdown after 2 hours of use!!!)
2. works pretty well in lower light — i’m in basement all day for work so lighting isnt great but it produces good noise reduced images (soft but still just fine)
3. colors are OK when lighting is good. not over saturated nor undersaturated.
4. securely hangs off the top of your monitor with the wedge bracket but also has a 1/4″ screw hole for small desktop tripods.
5. built well: aluminum chassis and really nice touch with the physical camera shutter to close the lens for extra guarantee
6. MIC is the weakest part of this camera. basically dont use the built-in mic. Find a headset or desktop mic and use that instead. I find the mic quality poor.
Overall for $50, this 1080p cam is all you need for work webex/zoom/teams calls.

I use this webcam for work and it’s great. I have been loving it and it’s exactly what I needed at an affordable price. I highly recommend it!
1080p Resolution
– The webcam takes clear and sharp images when using the camera app on my computer.
– There were no video curvature in any of the videos streams.
– Videos recorded are at 1920×1080 @ 30fps.
– Using a conferencing app like Zoom or Skype, the picture wasn’t as sharp as it completely depends on how the servers are compressing the video and internet speeds. This is unfortunate as the uncompressed video is very clear.
– The camera has autofocus. Minimum focus length of approx. 5cm. Any closer and it would not focus. It takes approx. 1sec to adjust focus from something near to far, which is fairly quick, not cellphone quick, but still good.
Dual Microphones
– The audio is clear and loud. A bit of the high frequencies seem to be filtered, but the mics were fairly sensitive.
Status LED
– The blue LED lets you know that the camera is active. Good to keep an eye on this just in case.
Camera Privacy Shutter
– This is probably one of my favourite features of the webcam. A lot of webcams out there either built-in or add-on do not have a privacy shutter. We’re left with workarounds like stickers, tape or even stick-on shutters. This is built-in and can be closed/opened at will. Once closed, all the other end sees is a black screen. Perfect for situations where a hacker may take control of your camera and activate it unbeknownst to you.
Mount
– The mount included can be used in many ways. As a “clamp” to an external monitor up to 5.5cm thick or to a laptop screen as thin as 6mm. As a stand on the table, which can be raised an additional 5cm while still being stable. The final way would be to mount it to a camera tripod as there is a threaded hole at the bottom.
– When attached to my laptop, it was stable did not feel like it wanted to fall.
Highly Adjustable
– The camera has a high level of adjustment. It can turn a full 360 and angle up/down approx. 90.
Setup
– This was very easy to setup, just plug in the USB cable and it will complete the setup on its own. No need for driver downloads or config. You then just need to select the camera in your app and you’re done.
Build
– The body of the camera is made of a grey aluminum with chrome accents. The front is made of plastic and unfortunately, is very susceptible to fingerprints and scratches.
– The stand is made of plastic, but the hinges feel strong and should hold its place.
– The USB cable is attached to the rear and not removable. It’s approx. 175cm (59″) in length, which is just shy of 6ft, so you should be able to mount this camera almost anywhere.
Final Impression
Overall, I found the Soomfon 1080p webcam performed very well. It has a solid build and multiple mounting options. The camera provided exceptionally clear video and good audio, but was unfortunately due to limitations by the conferencing apps (high compression and low bandwidth) the video quality didn’t shine. Don’t get me wrong, the camera itself produces very clear video, it’s just how apps like Zoom & Skype work in order to maintain a consistent video stream. I can see this as my new conferencing camera as it’s better than my built-in laptop camera.
The built quality is good but not very premium. The video quality is also ok and colors are perfectly captured. It is great came for conferencing via MS teams or skype. The delay or latency is negligible and the streaming is smooth.
Beautifully designed and sits perfectly on top of the monitor. It has a magnetic privacy cover as well. Auto focusing was impressive and worked well.
Arrived nicely packaged as shown in the attached photos.
The price is expensive in my opinion.

As soon, as I opened the box, I would tell I would love the camera. In terms of design, it is very good.
Cable: This is long enough for most needs. There is ferrite fitted to the USB cable to prevent interference signals.
Magnetic cover: I love the camera cover.
Live: When the camera is live, there is a blue LED light.
Wide Angle: It has a wide angle, which you can adjust using the clever zoom button. It may be an issue if you have an untidy background.
Zoom: The zoom button is a touch button. I wish they had two buttons zoom in and zoom out.
Adjustments: There is no adjustment for colour/contrast, as it is plug in and play.
Video Quality: The camera worked as it should, but I felt the colours were not warm. Everyone has a different taste.
4K: I tried it on Zoom (video conference), but I don’t think Zoom supports 4K at the moment. I am aware other apps such as OBS support 4K, but they are not easy to use.
It is a well-designed product.

The picture from the webcam is really good. The mic is really sensitive and picked up on my every word. There is a slider on top of the webcam that will cover/uncover the lens. This is a nice added touch.
There is a little screw hole on the bottom to mount the webcam to a mini tripod. You can also mount the webcam to a regular camera tripod but I don’t know why you would want to.
The camera app on Windows says the pictures are 1920×1080 and the videos are 1920×1080 at 30 fps. This will be fine for probably most people who need/want a webcam.

Easy to use: plug and play web cam, no driver needed on my Windows PC.
Good quality picture at Full HD and good sound. Auto focus works well as long as I don’t move too fast.
But @59.99, it is expensive compared to other fixed focus web cams that I have reviewed that cost about half the price.
This is a fairly decent webcam that for the most part works as expected (and no, quite a few of ’em don’t). I recently come across some webcams in the $30-$75 range and while they all have different strengths and weakness, this is one of the better ones in terms of overall video quality; however, it’s far from perfect and it does suffer from some issues (i.e. poor mic reception) that may or may not be a deal breaker for you. For some reason it also defaults to a lower resolution of 1600×1200 so you might need to adjust that manually depending up the programs being used. The built-in privacy slider is nice, as always.
Installation
Installation is a snap; it’s completely plug’n’play without any issues at all (and that’s what it’s supposed to be in 2022). A new device named ‘SF-CM002’ appears under ‘Imaging devices’ and it’s ready to be used immediately. A quick search with that name yields no relevant results which is a bit worrisome.
Video
The video quality is fairly decent knowing this is likely NOT a real 1080p (and it’s nowhere near a TRUE 1080p) that you see from TV or other quality sources. It’s not too bad given the circumstances although the colors are a bit of wash-out and gray-ish in comparison just like most other webcams out there (that they have their own color/saturation issues). Though, these issues can probably be corrected in most programs/apps out there. With that being said, the overall video quality is in general better than or at least quite comparable to some of the webcams in the $75-$100 range.
This one has a conserved FoV (Field of View) of 80 which is noticeably narrower than many others out there and I’m actually not a big fan of the wide angle unless it’s for a conference room where it needs to cover a large group of people; otherwise, the only thing wide angle camera does is to make people ‘smaller’ because it’s covering a larger area (and can be distracting for others as well). Also keep in mind that the wider the angle, the more prominent fishbowl effect is although it’s less on people since we got a ‘curved’ face/body.
Microphone
The mic that comes with this webcam is definitely the weakest link which is somewhat unexpected but understandable. Why understandable? Well, it advertises has having some sort of AI driven noise reduction technology and if that were true, then I can clearly see how this could have affect the sound quality and its apparently inability to pick up sound properly.
The biggest issue I have with this webcam is the fact that I have to be VERY close the mic (and right in FRONT it) in order to for it to pick up sounds that are of decent QUALITY; otherwise, the sounds/voices seem muffled and simply lack energy and as if it’s far away etc. Without going to unnecessary details, a POORLY designed noise reduction algorithm WILL invariably and inevitably reduce the quality of the sound quality and I believe that’s what happens here based on what I’ve experienced.
Value
All things considered, this is a decent webcam in terms of video quality as well as physical build in comparison to most other webcams out there; however, it is pricey at $49 based on what it’s able to provide overall; this would’ve been a much better product without the mic (and with reduced price as a result of that). The video quality is fairly decent and comparable to some webcams at a higher price range so this is a clear winner in that regard. Though, let me say it again, the video quality is far from superb but it is decent all things considered.
I used the camera on several laptops running Windows 11 and each recognized it immediately and required no further action. The image quality is excellent, although some occasional focus hunting is observed (this is normal on all brands I’ve used).
My favorite feature is the push to zoom right on the camera (most this has to be performed via software). Push and hold to zoom in, push and hold to zoom out or push once to reset to wide angle.
The magnetic lens cover is also a nice feature that allows me to easily cover the lens or magnetically store the cover on top of the camera.

This webcam has the usual top of monitor mount combined with a tripod screw hole. What sets it apart slightly is that it has a 360o pan rotation and a 105o approx. tilt on it as well which makes positioning it very easy. It has a magnetic privacy cover that can be placed on the top of the webcam when using the webcam. It is not fixed to the webcam so it would be easy to lose it. A blue LED also shows when the camera is in use. The supplied and detachable USB A to USB C lead connects it to your computer.
The video quality was good and you can control a lot of the settings natively without needing to download any software for it. There was no fisheye effect at all, but I did see the suggestion of a touch of trapezium with the lines of doors at the top of the image bending slightly inwards, but to be fair, I am being really picky here and it wouldn’t be noticed under normal usage. The autofocus seemed to work as I moved about.
I couldn’t see any zoom effect at all when using it with Skype, but when I used it with some A/V capture software, the zoom was noticeable so I’m putting it down to the way Skype works. All in all then, almost top marks for the video.
The microphone is a strange one. It worked well in Skype with my voice being loud and clear, although it did sound as if I was in a large open room. When I tried recording with it using my A/V software, the volume was pretty muted. I then tried it with Audacity and OceanAudio and the sound was not only quite muted, but when I used the Amplify options to increase the volume, there was a fair amount of background noise from the monitor/computer. This background noise wasn’t noticeable at all with Skype.
At this price, this webcam should have been better than it is so I am disappointed by it. It would be fine for Skype and for video chats with more than one person as the camera has a wide view, but it should be better than fine. If you want to record videos, it would work for that as well, but I would strongly suggest using a separate microphone.
4 stars for this webcam then, sadly, and I would advise buyers to look around first. There are other 4K webcams out there offering a better video/microphone result.
A final note on the video/audio capture. When I tried to record a video, I got poor lip sync with the audio falling way behind the audio. I changed the microphone to a desktop mic and everything was peachy. I then changed back to the webcam microphone after a few minutes and the lip sync was in line with the audio. I have no idea why it sorted itself out.
