It’s ok for my wildlife pond, bought it to help with oxygenation, plants and frogs growing and breeding, needs a cleaning every month or so, will work on overcast days but intermittently, on sunny days and it will run continuously. Saves the hassle of mains power supply.
I remove it from the pond over the freezing spell during winter, it’s plastic so wouldn’t expect it to tolerate freezing water/weather.

easy to fit and a long lead to the panel which seems better made than most solar stuff these days. works well obviously needs sun but does charge and work for a while after the sun. more powerful than I imagined

I read the reviews and decided to take a punt on this solar pump with a chargeable battery.
    So far so good.
It works well on my small garden water feature and the different attachments have allowed me to find the right spray pattern.
It does work on a cloudy day through the battery but direct sunlight is best.
One way to get the solar panel to work longer is to disconnect the cable to the pump, allow the battery to charge and then reconnect the cable and the pump happily works( on a cloudy day).
I would say that it needs direct sunlight for larger features and ponds to work continuously.
I bought this on a discount day.

Easy to assembly work really well in fact empty our little water feature in no time . After a bit of playing about got it on the right head so it doesn’t water the whole garden solar panel works in cloud conditions .

I bought this to replace another solar pump I’d patched into a bird bath/fountain but was temperamental (originally it used a mains powered pump) and had no issues getting set up. Tons of fittings which I’m not using right now, but you never know. It gives enough water flow and I think I maybe need a slightly wider plastic tube if I wanted more and it fitted the holes in the fountain.

I love that the cable to the panel is a decent length and the battery backup works well when it’s overcast or when the suns gone in, it gives a couple of hours run.

The fountain bit did seem a bit flimsy when it came out of the box, but once it was lined up with the solar panel it started up after a couple of seconds, and we’ve been pleased so far with the performance. Better in bright sun of course, but makes the most of any light and works intermittently in cloud too.

I received my order quickly & set it up the same day. Very easy to do, with no skills needed. I was very impressed, it worked immediately. There are lots of different nozzles to try & they all work well. I mounted the solar panel on two bamboo canes at the back & secured them with the cable ties that came in the box.
The pump works extremely well in full sun & even when it goes a little overcast the energy stored in the battery keep it going until the battery is empty.
I would definitely recommend & wouldn’t hesitate to buy again.

Brilliant, long wire so we could trail the solar panel onto the fence. We used a 10mm pipe to the water feature (with the help of one of the attachments).

No on off button, no spike to stick into the ground even though there is a place to attach on the back of the solar panel, pump very small could have been large

Bought this for a water feature that came with a mains pump, i didn’t want to run a weather proof lead to the bottom of the garden so i got this solar pump, so far i am very impressed with it, pumps well and gives a decent waterfall, works in overcast conditions and keeps going for a good couple of hours after the sun stops hitting the the panel, only been running for 2 days as yet but all in all i’m very happy with it.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our Usersstopped working after 8 months. Looks like the box on the back containing wires has come away from the solar panel and water has got inside. unable to contact seller, emails are returned undeliverable. still trying to contact them. Dont waste your money, utter rubbish. UPDATE I have changed my star rating from a 1 star to a 4 star. I cant give a 5 star review because it did stop working after 8 months but seller has now resolved my issues and refunded in full. I have mentioned to seller that their email address is not valid and ive asked them to update this. They did eventually contact me via Amazon. Happy it was resolved, thankyou for providing excellent customer service.

Absolutely perfect for what I need.
Keeps the water moving in my 90 litre barrel so it doesn’t go stagnant.
Don’t have any fish in there but several snails and they’re fine with it
I’m in the UK and it works during daylight hours, permanently when it’s sunny, pumps about every 10 seconds (for 5 seconds) when cloudy.
    Very pleased with it.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersThis pump worked really well for 9 months. When it suddenly failed , I contacted the company customer service , who were amazingly helpful , apologetic , and promptly dispatched a new unit to me.
I expected an argument , but was so pleasantly surprised , that I’m still smiling.
So , the pump works really well and the backup is surprisingly positive !
DON’T HESITATE TO USE THIS COMPANY.

Lasted 2 years before it gave up the ghost. Used it to make a DIY cascading waterfall in a bowl. The long cable made siting the solar panel very flexible, and it worked even on cloudy days and in winter.

Golden Review Award: 13 From Our UsersI was a bit hesitant about buying a solar powered pump/fountain as had one several years ago and it was rubbish, however this one works excellently in full sun and even when gloomy you still get an intermittent burst.

The only issue I have with it is that there’s no spike to stick it in the ground so you just have to prop it up against something, this is a bit of a pain as I can’t get full sun all the time so constantly moving it around.

Simple and quick to set up, done in less than 30 mins, created a mini waterfall with a tub and wateringcan by adding hose to the pump. Looks really effective on my patio. Just needs decorating!

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersI use this in my pond and in all honesty it struggles. Not because the solar panel is weak or the suction is bad – on a sunny day the fountain is genuinely great – but because a pond is a living thing and living things crawl (tiny bugs) or grow (algae) into the fountain unit and clog it up. I have to disassemble the unit at least once a fortnight to clean it out, something you would not have to worry about in a water feature. It also has the disconcerting habit of acting like it has prostate problems on cloudier days (something that units with batteries have less issues with). For the money it is good, with several different fountain heads, and if you are looking for a small water feature then look mo further, pond owners might want to spend a bit more

Golden Review Award: 8 From Our UsersWhile working, it was great. Used for a little barrel pond. Lots of options for the fountain head, but because my pond was so small, I just opted for the basic set up. The battery stores a charge to keep fountain operational when there is cloud. All great until now. Stopped working for no apparent reason after 8 weeks, despite my following maintenance instructions. I’m applying for replacement or refund under the 1 year warranty. Having seen some other reviews, others have had similar issue after 2-3 months. It’s supposed to have a life of about 50000 hours. I’ll update review when I get a meaningful response from the company one way or another. The outcome will tell me whether this is a company which I can trust and which sticks to its promises. Video above was taken shortly after set up in June 2022. The photo next to it is one requested by the manufacturer (showing fountain in water and solar panel in sunlight) after I reported the problem. There are size limits on images and problems with jpg files when attaching files through Amazon app making the process a bit frustrating.

Update. 17/08/2022 – Pleased to report company have sent me a replacement. No quibbling. Good service. Rating amended from 1 star to 4 stars

Golden Review Award: 9 From Our UsersI brought this around a month ago for my small, south facing pond. On sunny days – like the recent heatwave – I have a constant fountain running for most of the day and evening which looks fantastic. Today it’s cloudy and so the fountain comes on for a spell and then turns off, presumably due to the lack of power?

The collection of nozzles is good but they’re all fairly similar – the one I would have liked to see is a “bell nozzle” to keep the water lower rather than shooting it upwards. The only minor negatives I’ve found are that as the pump is small and floats it can move around the pond and potentially toward the edges, and the pump can get easily blocked by gunk as it’s small (but easy to clean). These are however minor flaws in an excellently priced pump that’s easy to set-up and install.

Golden Review Award: 56 From Our UsersI’m using this in a 35cm pot and it looks lovely. When it’s in full sun and the fountain is working at full power, it shoots water up higher than I expected- the pot isn’t big enough to contain all the splashes, so keep an eye on the water level!
It worked straight out of the box on a sunny/cloudy day, and it comes with 7 different nozzles and some stabilising tubes to keep the fountain in the middle of the pot. I haven’t used the tubes, and instead use some foam floating flowers around the fountain, works just the same.
Lots of fountains seem to have bad reviews on being intermittent, or only working in full sun etc…. but please remember this is an inexpensive fountain powered by solar energy only. It works brilliantly in full sun, and then changes under cloudy conditions, depending on how much power it has stored in the solar panel. I’m really enjoying listening to and watching this fountain, and I also like that it changes intensity with the sun. It makes a marvellous game for my cats – a small shoot of water suddenly turns into a larger one, they love it!
As long as the fountain has had enough sun exposure (I’m not sure exactly how much it needs yet, maybe a few hours?), you also get a beautiful light display when it gets dark. On the first day of using this, the lights came on in the evening, and I was amazed at how pretty it looked. The water runs at a constant pressure along with the lights for about 4 hours.
I don’t have another fountain to compare this to, but I’m really impressed with it and would definitely recommend.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersI am really pleased with of the Aistin solar fountain. In the box was the pump, solar panel and 6 nozzles.
Connecting the pump to the panel for the first time I was shocked at how powerful the pump was. Each of the six nozzles create an impressive jet or jets of water which can reach some height. I’ve had in the past a floating solar pump but the solar panel ring always needed full sunlight as the slightest of shadows and the pump would stop. This on the other hand can come with some shadow over the solar panel, however for the best results you want to make sure that the panel gets as much sun as possible. This is made easier by the fact that the connecting cable is a decent length meaning you can position the panel in the best place.
The battery is a great idea as it does allow it to continue to work in the evening as it starts to get duller.
My only criticism would be that I’ve found the pump does get easily blocked due to the small holes where is sucks in the water. It’s just meant I’ve had to make sure that the water is as clear of any bird of weed etc. first thing in the morning the fountain can struggle a bit but that’s due in part to not enough light getting to the panel so you end up with a 5 seconds squirt of water and then it stops again but this is due to the panel not getting enough light which is to be expected.
Overall I am throughly impressed. If yiu take the time to find a location for the panel where it’s going to receive the most amount of sunlight as possible you can’t fail to be impressed.

Golden Review Award: 21 From Our UsersThis is an excellent system for keeping a pond aerated. Even on dull winter days it saves up the meagre solar power until it has enough and then pumps for a while until it runs out and repeats. Bits of weed kept jamming it at first (my fault for having a weedy pond) but widening the holes in the spray head helped a bit and then I used a spare spatter guard to make a filter enclosing the pump and it’s worked for months without jamming.
Now, 9 months after installation, the pump motor is making choking noises of a bearing that is worn out. I suspect the pump won’t last much longer and anyway it’s too noisy to have in the garden.

Golden Review Award: 24 From Our UsersThe pump is so tiny but so receptive to solar power and works well with the waterfall project I was constructing. The waterfall was made from some waterproof cement and some old slates that I had around the garden .The little pump sits neatly in the base reservoir ( a bucket) and easily pumps to the height of 1m required to keep the flow constant.Coming with a backup battery attached to the solar panel even when the sun goes in flow is not interrupted. The solar panel attaches to the small pump with a very long lead so finding the best placement for maximum sunlight away from the project is easy. The kit comes with numerous attachments so will suit pretty well any water feature you can devise.Buy with confidence from a very reliable trader (this is the second purchased the other is in use in a simple pond setting) and ENJOY!!

he pump is tiny 2″ approx cube, the nozzle is also tiny, there are additional bits that you can add on, but they are also tiny, the tallest I could make it would be about 3″ from the pump. In the end I got a silicone straw and attached that to the pump to extend the spout long enough to use in a water feature. Once I had extended the spout, I got a good burst of water about 10″ tall. I would only recommend this for small bird baths, small basin water feature, or buy a silicone straw like i did to extend it.

Great pump with large solar panel. Plugged in and away it went. Has a backup rechargeable battery that charges while the sun is out. The pump cuts out if the water level drops below the intake also switches off when it begins to get dark.
Has been running from approximately 7am till around 9pm since i installed it.

We have placed it in a large bowl the only disadvantage with ours is that when you attach the different spray pattern nozzles the water sprays out onto the grass therefore after about an hour the pump will cutout due to the water level dropping. This is not a criticism if it was in a pond you would not have this issue.

The tranquil sound of running water is enough for us and will only attach the spraying nozzles when our granddaughter is staying.
Will pack back in the box during the winter months. All in all a nice piece of kit.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersI bought this on a whim on Prime day, as I wanted to try and use it to run a small waterfall rather than a fountain in my pond. I have a solar disc fountain that sits in the middle of the pond but was missing having the waterfall running.

I bought a 1cm internal diameter x 1 metre flexible and clear plastic pipe and attached that to the 4cm long fountain spout, that I had attached to the pump – perfect fit. I didn’t use the foam disc as the stiffness of the pipe kept trying to tip the disc sideways and raise the pump out of the water. Therefore, the pump itself is just dangling in the water on the end of the pipe and wire. I think it is giving a good flow, just what I wanted for my small waterfall – a nice gentle flow, not a rush. I stood the panel up on the ground, as it looks less obtrusive there than hung on the fence, angled to catch the rays.

The photo and video I have attached were taken on quite a cloudy day and it is going great. In the photo you can see the end of the pipe, with the pump going into the water in front of the 2nd stone to the right of the waterfall, then the pipe curls around to go into the top under the ‘frog’. The excess long cable is tucked behind the solar panel.

I am really happy with my purchase as it is running a small waterfall, just like I wanted it to. The price I paid was great too.

5.0 out of 5 stars Working great as a waterfall via a purchased plastic pipe.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersI’ve been very pleasantly surprised by this pump. I was a little shocked to see how tiny it is but for its size, it certainly packs a punch. I’m using it to power a ‘waterfall’. I got a length of 7mm (inner diameter) piping and connected it, running it through a short length of waste pipe to return the water to the pond.

I have a lot of duckweed in my pond and have put the pump into a fine mesh aquarium filter bag to help stop too much debris getting into the pump. I’ve had it set up a week or so and so far, it seems to be working.

I love the soothing sound of running water this pump has brought to the garden. We have had quite a bit of sun since I set it up but also some dull days and some nights it has still been running after 9pm.

    UPDATE Aug 2022

The first pump I bought, 14 months ago, has now started sticking and only starts again if you shake or knock it. Even then, it’s sometimes necessary to open it up and press the impeller down – presumably it’s worn? I’ve got 1 summers out of it, which for the price is maybe all you can ask.

I did buy a second one 2 months ago and that has stopped working altogether. In fairness to Amazon, they have given me a full refund. Assume it was just a faulty unit and I will probably risk buying another.

I bought this as a replacement for my previous one that finally “died” after several years of good service. It was a bit of a fiddle to assemble but managed OK. I haven’t yet worked out how to keep the floating mat from drifting around the surface of my tiny patio pond, and thereby spraying water everywhere and steadily emptying the pond, so I have to use it fixed to a flat surface below the water. The pump is much more powerful than I was expecting – good news for anyone with a larger pond, but mine is tiny, so more water ends up on the patio than in the pond itself! It’s a good little water feature, but I think I might need to look for a less powerful one soon!

It’s well worth spending a little bit more on a solar water fountain and this one does not disappoint. As soon as I put it in the water it started working and continues to work even when the sun goes in which happens often here in the UK. The only negatives is that I wish the spout from the pump was a little bit longer as I’m finding it difficult when I attach the float to keep the nozzles connected to the pump and I wish the solar panel had a stand so it could stand upright independently, these are the only reasons why I only gave it 4 stars.

  30. LannyProuty says:

I bought one of these for extra water movement in a 1000 litre pond and was very impressed. The single hole fitting produces a high jet of water and works all day even if the sun is intermittent or obscured by clouds. On really dark overcast days, the pump will work for a minute, stop for a minute, etc so still some water circulation.
I was so impressed with it that I bought two more, one for a water feature and one for a small wildlife pond. One of them doesn’t work perfectly (thus the 4 stars) – it cuts out more than the others and needs more sun.
Overall, though, a great product for the price.
