Used to keep the dog out of the water stream and pond. Over time though (5 months) it’s become too stretchy so our dog now walk over it and it dips in.
Really good netting that looks invisible once in place- plenty of stakes as well for my 1100litre pond.
Ideal for what I required the net for. I have a 11 foot by 3 foot pond this product covered the pond easily, with plenty spare.
Made a frame and attached the net to it so easily removed for pond maintenance
This netting is good quality and east to use.
I have covered the whole pond and hopefully the big bird will leave my fish alone now.
This net has been over my pool for over a year, has herons testing it, foot balls and other child led projectiles. Hasn’t sagged or or lost its ability to protect the pools occupants.
I used the product primarily to protect the fish from a very resourceful and persistent heron, who has now disappeared, and is, no doubt, seeking breakfast elsewhere!
Excellent product for my large pond Herons cant get at my fish .
Excellent product. Covered our large irregular shaped koi pond easily. Strong and durable, keeping the Autumn leaves and the Heron’s out.
The netting is very easy for two of us to cover our pond. From covering and staking took less than 15 minutes.
Brought this for the pond, easy to use, keeps hearons at bay and also stops leaves going into the pond. Excellent buy.
The net was very easy to fit and is proving just the job for keeping leaves out of the pond
Netting is light enough to handle easily and plenty of pegs supplied to keep it in place. Being black, it doesn’t show but is keeping leaves out of the pond already.
Really good pond net. Seems very string too. Perfect to keep the leaves out of my pond this yea
My fish were disappearing fast, once the mesh was on no more trouble, the Heron couldn’t get in.
This was better quality than I expected. Having used plastic mesh netting in previous years I was pleasantly surprised upon opening the box. Nice stretchy fabric material which is so easy to work with. Laid it over some bamboo canes across pond to keep autumn leaves out. Currently works well. I already know it’ll be a lot easier to store it next spring too as it’ll just roll up and fit back in the box. Hopefully will last me a few years.
Excellent quality product, small holes allowing little to get through, even stops pine needles
delivered quickly and very good for my pond protected from dropping leaves and covered well
The net is easy to use and does a great job of keeping the leaves out at this time of yea
Nothing to dislike. I have been covering my garden pond for 30years and this product is the best ye
Paid slightly more than others that are available but glad I did. Perfect size mesh to stop leaves falling into my pond and feels quite strong. Really happy with this ne
I fitted it over my pond
Put bungee rope round edges it fits perfect
Keeps birds of fish
Straight out of the box it was obvious that this was a good quality fabric – not one of those plasticky items that falls apart as soon as you look at it.
It was almost as if the wrong net had been put in the box – it was far longer than the description – a welcome change!
If I had a quibble it would be with the quality of the pegs – two broke – but we happen to have many surplus tent pegs so it was no problem. But it is wise to be careful when hammering them into the ground if you aren’t so fortunate.
This must be the best pond net I have bought. Strong, stretches well and all for such a good price. The netting is very fine making it so easy to see the fish compared to other netting I have used. Even from a short distance it is difficult to see the net in place. Would buy again when that time comes.
Thinner than expected It said heavy duty so thought it was going to be thicker like my last one.i was a bit disappointed but it did the job.. I bought extra anyway as they do get a bit grungy. So overall happy enough.
Not the cheapest netting I’d seen but the reviews speak for the product: well made, stretch without weakness and easy to fit. Looking at the construction it’s easy to see it’s not poorly made. Worth every penny!
Where to start. Nothing but good things to say about this net. Quality is fantastic, stretch is great and there was no better test for this than the mother-in-law testing this by taking a drink fuelled pirouette into the pond. No damage, no stretch. Plenty of laughing.
Whilst appreciating that this is primarily to protect fish I used it to keep my large puppy from the sludge at the bottom of my natural pond. It has proven really effective because it is strong and stretchable albeit I did use additional metal pegs to supplement the plastic ones provided
I replaced a pond netting because it was plastic and was torn
I used this one as the other day one of my large Koi jumped out and was flapping around on the patio if I wasn’t there it would have died for sure
this new net will.make sure that doesn’t happen again!
Good product great stretch too
would definitely recommend
Really pleased with the net, good quality for a reasonable price. Quickly and easier installed. Would definitely recommend.
A bit dubious about using a net but after a visit by Harry the Heron which nearly cleaned me out I felt I had no choice. Really pleased that I bought this net. It stretched over the pond side rocks with no damage and yet could be trimmed with scissors if necessary. Barely visible accept when close up. I wish I’d bought this product years ago and can highly recommend. Could possibly do with a few more pegs included but they are easy enough to get so not really a problems.
Very good value for money, lasts a good amount of time too
Great netting, easy to cut to size. The pegs thay come with it are amazing, just wish it came with a few more, not sure if you can buy extra separately
Easy to fit for 2 people, although 1 could probably do it. Plenty (14 I think) of holding down pegs which hold very securely into the soil around my pond.
This is the finest pond netting I have found. An earlier net lasted for years, and I only had to get rid of it when it became choked with pond weeds. Extremely strong, and easy to install. Very good value for money.
So far being used to clean pond, deal with leaves & small particles with finer net. Easy to change heads to bigger net / scrubber – good quality.
Very quick delivery time and great product , we have a 9m x 9m pond and I managed to put the net over by myself , no problem , would highly recommend .
Well priced netting for covering a fish pond against herons. Well made product, strong mesh, easy to use.
I would use this seller again.
We are using this over our wildlife pond to stop leaf fall from getting in the water. It was easy to fit and the pegs work well in the ground.
Easy to use and looks good as when stretched and tucked away under rocks it hardly shows. Don’t really netting my pond but the herons are about and I have a lot of fish. Very pleased.
This does exactly what it says on the box. Great for collecting my falling tree leaves
Delivered promptly. The pegs were most useful and the net is exactly what I was hoping for. Fingers crossed I will feel the same after the winter.
A much more simple job than usual to replace the pond netting. The material has a woven construction making it stretchier and more robust than single strand nets. Doesn’t stop the birds from landing on it for a bath though!
The most important things to know is the holes are small to stop leaves and you can cut in to pieces and it wont fray one tip is get reusable ring-ties
used as a protection against herons on garden pond.very strong and true to size
as advertised. being black in colour it was less noticable than other colours and the mesh size
although being small was big enouigh to allow my food sticks to pass through,
very happy with this produc
This is definitely the best pond netting available. I was concerned by a review that said the visibility was compromised. The photo shows the netting just after being placed over my pond and before final fitting. The visibility is great and I don’t think I shall lose any more fish to Herons or grass snakes. I would recommend buying the steel staple pegs option as they hold the netting very firmly against the ground and prevent “nasties” from crawling under it. A superior product that outranks anything I’ve had before. 10/10 – well done AlpineReach !
Had to review as so pleased with this netting. Never had to net my pond before but after a heron set his sights on my koi and was picking them off one by one I had no choice. This has brilliant give and stretch, holes are a great size and will catch debris. Never liked netting ponds but can honestly say it does not spoil the view and I am so chuffed with it. Strung up from the fence at the back to accomodate tall pond plants and pulled low at the bottom and weighted with plants and rockery. Will easily be able to lift bits up and access pond when required. Doesn’t feel at all flimsy and I think it will last. Wasn’t the cheapest net but sometimes you get what you pay for and I would buy again. Sorry for the dark picture, finished the netting at night!
Have checked the netting and it should do a good job, not fitted over pond yet hope to do that in the very near future and will endeavour to post a update on how I get on fitting the net over the pond.
I liked the quality of the netting and how easy it was spread it over the pond by its stretch quality.
No knotting while unpacking and hopefully long lasting.
The hole size is just right for the pond and the black colour blends into the water to be able to see the fish well.
I will buy another one in the future.
Came next day, easy to use, although I bought metal plant supports to use as well as the supplied pegs. I had to cut out a hole for the reeds to come through, but there’s plenty mesh left to cover the full pond in winter when the plants die back. You really don’t see it when it’s on (although I still need to get the bit by the waterfall sorted) and at least I know my fish are safe! After 2 years of no losses, I lost 6 fish in a weekthen had a shock at the price to re-stock. Money well spent, thanks
Best netting ever. Reluctantly after a heron visit decided to net off the shallow end. The net was easy to lay and fit and mesh so fine it hasn’t spoilt being able to see the fish in the pond at all. Was worried the net would be intrusive but perfec
Fitted this net today in an attempt to save my last two fish. The only survivors of a visit by what was likely an otter. It ate the other five including a 7-8inch koi, Gutted!!!… They were all about 15 months old and doing really well, extremely healthy. Being a newbie to keeping pondfish, I had done tons of research and trial and error and got the water crystal clear with all tests proving perfect conditions only to be visited by a predator in the early hours… I’ve given this net 5 stars because I believe it is very good quality, I bought the smallest size available for just shy of twenty quid and with my pond only being a little 500 litre. I have loads and loads left over. It came with 15 pegs of a reasonable quality and design but I’ve also used a load of tent pegs, the deep threaded type. So it’s secured every 4-5 inches and covered with stones. If the b****** gets in it will probably be something I’ve missed or done incorrectly. Good product but I’ve put it accross the top of the pond nice and taut as instructed but it seriously obscures visability into the water making me think it’s not really worth it. Might go back to the drawing board and make a frame like others have.
I’ve used the netting to protect my fish from predation from herons and windblown debris such as odd bits of paper, which seem to appear from nowhere from time to time, and obviously leaf litter. The strength and ‘stretchability’ was tested while I was securing the netting around the pond when our yorkshire terrier fell onto it opposite where I was working. She bounced and my daughter was able to rescue her with a minimal wetting and the fish taking no notice of the drama above. Couldn’t be more pleased at this moment in time. Thanks.
This net has been successfully stretched very tightly to keep it clear of the water for a second winter. Contrary to what I may have said in a previous comment, it does not tear (sorry, I was referring to another. inferior, net). I particularly like the fact that from a distance the thin, black netting is scarcely noticeable.
The netting is very good quality and covered the pond with ease and holds the leaves out of the water. We were able to roll-up and tie the spare netting, so that it poses no danger to hedgehogs and birds. We kept the netting above the ground, so that the small birds can still bathe in the pond shallows. I was a little concerned when I saw the plastic pegs but they were strong enough to hold the net taut and no breakages. A very good buy, which should last for many years.
This netting was perfect for the project to cover my fish pond. The holes are big enough to let insects in and out yet keeping the leaves and other garden debris out. The frame is taught enough that if a pigeon lands on it it doesn’t sag! Good quality netting, the box also contains sturdy pegs if required.
Would recommend this for any pond project! Also I have used it to stop squirrels nesting where they shouldn’t (so far so good at keeping them at bay!)
The net i received was excellent, I previously had a net suitable for protection fruit from birds and cats were still able to get into my pond. I put on the new net, staked it in place with the stakes supplied, brilliant job so get one if you are having problems with herons or cats. Great service from this supplier, thanks.
I used this to cover a pond, under some deciduous trees, that was edged with various rocks. I was able to fit the net over some rocks and under some due to it toughness and ability to stretch a large amount. There’s plenty of stakes in the box to secure it too.
It’s been fitted about a month now, seems to be holding up well has stopped a lot of debris from the trees getting in the pond. Recommended
I’m not using this netting as a pond cover, but in my garden. I chose this product because I wanted netting which wouldn’t tear too easily and so many products for garden netting report their flimsy nature. After its first use, pegging the netting out and stretching it over some low height wooden posts, I’m very satisfied that this netting will be fit for purpose and will last.
Th netting is light, strong and stretches well over the pond. However, as our pond has plants at either end, I feel that some instructions on how to shape and cut the netting around plant areas should be provided, in addition to the stated instructions of ‘Stretch & Fix’.
We do not have fish in our pond but we do have frogs which lay spawn every year and then we have newts.
The pond has established reeds growing and these have beautiful yellow flowers in summer.
Unfortunately a tree overhangs the pond but this netting is going to be superb. We have put tall stakes in at each end and then covered them with the netting so we are now keeping the water free of leaves while protecting the greenery AND allowing the amphibians to access the water. Couldn’t be a better solution!!
