Board itself is great all rounder, stable as SUP and surprisingly comfortable as a kayak, my only gripe was that paddle connector broke on first use, fortunately friends had spare so day wasn’t wasted, that said, contact to customer services and a couple of pics sent and they sorted within few days

I ordered this SUP and had a couple of problems.
Firstly the seat buckle seized and secondly the paddleboard it’s developed a couple of raised areas underneath the foam surface.
Both were replaced without question by the seller.
    Great service by the seller.
    Thanks

Just took up paddleboarding this summer and after searching the web, reading reviews, comparing etc we decided on the Barracuda Board.

Arrived super quick and couldn’t wait to get it inflated.

Was a work out in itself pumping it up to the recommended PSI but was worth it. The board felt so sturdy.

Great that ut comes with all the added extras so if its too widny to paddleboard we just clip the seat on and kayak instead so the day isnt wasted.

The mobile phone case…. great, defo waterproof and usuable in the case. Took loads of pics and videos of out paddle days.

Paddle fills up with water and have found it can sink pretty quickly if you dint empty it out. I have also found that the wording on the bottom of the board seemed to melt and go sticky, when using it on a warm day.

The board is very light and does get pushed by the wind easily, but overall a great beginners board. Would recommend.

    Ideal beginner board

This is the first time that I’ve been on a SUP and this one seems to be fine so far with plenty of extra bits with it, it’s also fairly light weight and easy to pack/unpack and inflate/deflate..

Really pleased with this paddle board! We have used it alongside an expensive SUP for a week in the ocean and this has performed excellent. The expensive SUP is obviously more robust but in my opinion not x3 the cost more robust. We have had an issue with the paddle clamp breaking however with a quick phone call and a simple email refreshingly the issue was resolved excellent customer services!

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersFirst up I’ve nothing to compare this to, never been paddleboarding in my life so complete beginner.
We ordered this board and aqua spirits’ splash 9ft board. Took them out for the first time last night in the sea, relatively calm with an onshore wind and the tide coming in. It was a bit of a battle staying out but that was weather related. Within 20 mins I was stood up. Such a stable board, 14 Yr old tried it and again never been before he was up in about 10 mins. Good fun. 2nd time out tonight and again really stable. Sea was calm, tide was beginning to come in but we had another 3 hours till high tide slight offshore breeze but it was a doddle tonight. No fall offs.
The boards and accessories are all really well made ( not used the seat yet but have attached it to the board) I’d not hesitate to buy another board from aqua spirit either this model or another. The board material feels really thick and not easy to puncture.
I would HIGHLY recommend you order an adapter at the same time as the board and a 12v tyre inflater if you dont have one. The double action pump works well but omg when they get to about 8 psi they are hard to keep pumping ( don’t forget to take the red cap out the pump) it takes a lot of effort especially when you’re hot to get it to 13-15 psi from there BUT this is something I can see with all boards not exclusive to this one.
Brilliant value for money given that it’s already given about 6 hours fun in 2 days I can see many more hours to come.

The SUP is excellent, however the first time i used it the locking mechanism on the paddle broke. You cant repair and i had to pay another 40 for additional paddle. Not happy as it was the first day of holiday.

I had been looking for a board for a while and kept coming back to this one. It has all you need including the kayak seat and double paddle. Very sturdy and great fun in the cornish waves. Was surprised how quickly it glided through the water. Only downside is its pretty heavy for me to carry! Very pleased overall and would highly recommend as a beginner board

    Great board

I was not disappointed in this purchase in any way. The board is very high quality and everything you need was in the bag. The Kayak attachments are well made and it was very easy to paddle. I had one issue with overnighting of the paddle screw but I emailed the company and they sent me a new screw within 24 hours so great customer service. I have seen other boards locally at a much higher price with no where near the same sturdiness.

Good starter board, used it a few times now and it is stable, decent quality for the price and quick to inflate & deflate. The paddle comes with an attachment to make it double bladed like a kayak paddle which is a bonus.

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersUPDATE; I have managed to access customer support and they have been awesome. They are sending me a replacement fin fixing screw.

The email address is [email protected]

Bottom Line Up Front – Generally awesome with some areas that would be improved if you spend twice or three times as much..

Loved getting my girls out on the canals!

    Best bits.
The price for what you get. And it all works. Probably need to lubricate the pump regularly, but that’s true of any friction surface.
Absolutely solid when inflated. It is a bit of a workout to inflate two of them. My teen daughters managed to do most of the initial inflation, but the youngest struggled with the last 8 PSI.
Great surface which keeps your feet steady.
Fin is great at keeping tracking straight. Easy to fit, but don’t lose the small brass plate or the brass screw. Fin can collect a lot of weeds and slow you down.
    GoPro mount!
Paddles – could be a more safety-orientated colour, but otherwise great. You need to tighten the clamp screw to make sur exit doesn’t spin when you paddle. Easy enough.
Water-proof phone case works well. Can get fogged up though, so place a small piece of tissue inside – acts as a absorbing cloth and indicator that its leaking!

    Not so good bits.
No glue in the repair kit?! Stupid. Makes it unusable until you buy your own. Perhaps something to do with shelf-life of glue?
Still pretty big when packed up.
The bag is not going to last, I don’t think. I grabbed it by the waist strap when it was full to pull it and I heard a slight ripping sound.
Small brass plate for fin screw – I can see that getting lost.
Elastic tie-down on the front is a little short. Works well but if you had a bigger bag then it won’t go over it.
Shame it doesn’t come with elastic tie-downs on the rear D-rings too.
I don’t like the numbers along the edge – minor point.

Update: still great. Haven’t let us down. Has so much fun on the lakes and canals. My girls have paddled about 20 kms these last two weeks. However, I have lost one of the brass screws that hold the removable fin in. Can’t seem to find a website or customer service to contact yet. But if an bummer to keep straight when windy without it. Used a luggage strap around the board to stop it coming out which has worked on holiday. Need to find a replacement screw though.

    Just a great starter set!

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersSo in my first review I was rating it a 2 as after 4 trips out on a local non tidal river it developed a leak around the valve area I reached out to the supplier and I have to say they were utterly fantastic and amazing they not only arranged for a courier to pick up my faulty board but also sent me a full replacement and all without any charge. Ty Maddie in Aqua Spirit you are totally amazing ty for incredible customer service and the replacement board is brilliant.

The paddle board is excellent! I’m very happy with my purchase but for the first time I went out with my paddle board, the three piece oar snapped during out at sea. I was kayaking using both oars and the main part snapped clean off and sunk to the bottom of the sea. Now my other parents is damage and I can’t use it. That was the first time I used it and now can’t even send it back as it’s missing a part.

    Broken Oa

    Dislike the paddle.
    Like the other accessories.
    Like the stability
A small piece of the thick top rubber at the front has come unglued, shouldn`t be a problem to fix and hasn`t got any worse.
had it 6 weeks used it every weekend on 3-5 hour paddle trips, way better than a plastic canoe to on and off

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersI’ve just ordered my second one of these before they sell out in the summer, which tells you what I think, so I have a brand new one and one that has been well used over the past year.

The board is a quality item and is very stable in the water, so ideal if you are starting out. The supplied pump is very good and inflates the board to full pressure in around ten minutes. It’s less work than you might imagine. Everything is sturdy, including the strap and paddle.

The seat seems good too, although we haven’t tried it as a kayak as yet.

We’ve had lots of fun playing in the sea with our original board and my two teenagers and various friends have had hours of fun too. After a year of hard use some of the writing has scratched off and the board no longer looks new, but this is superficial and it functions perfectly. Nothing has broken.

Interestingly, a friend bought a FatStick paddleboard, for almost 200 more. It has similar wear to my Aqua Spirit board but various things have broken and the pump isn’t great anymore. He was very complimentary about the Aqua Spirit.

The only reason it gets 4 stars is that the back pack is rubbish. It’s not a bag but an odd thing that folds around the board with straps. It’s difficult to prevent stuff from dropping out and when you’re walking along the board often finds its way between the straps and starts to slide out.

Finally we had a faulty paddle on our original board and the seller changed it without quibble.

My friend already had this style of paddle board so I bought on his recommendation. It has all you would need including a seat to change it into a kayak. I recently bought for 300 so was a snip. My friend bought at 360 but the price was up as high as 460 through the summer so well pleased. Get yourself a wetsuit etc for the winter months and you’ll enjoy all year round.

Great purchase, bought on recommendation and at a great price

Really good value for money, especially when you see the price of some available. Comes with everything you need to get going straight away. Difficult to pump to the required psi, but I normal stop at 10 and it still feels really steady and haven’t had any issues. Easy to roll up and put back in the bag. The only thing is they could do with supplying a few spares – as in the washers that attach the fin, as this has dropped out and is such a unique size, you can’t find replacements.

I bought this as a beginner paddle boarder for use on the sea. It pumps up fairly easily and forms a solid platform. It is stable and manoeuvrable and works well in light waves. The board is great for my weight (95kg) but also good fun with both me and my wife (55kg) just playing around. I have not used the kayak seating attachment much, but that is also easy to fit and very useful to have. A great buy.

After a fair bit or research, I settled on the Aqua Spirit Blitz as it provided some higher quality features (seat, accessories, carbon paddle, double layered build) at only a slightly higher price.
Delighted with board for you myself and 12 year old both easily riding it by ourselves, but also in tandem with my 8 year old.
Excellent customer service from supplier too, rapidly sorting out shipping issue. Many thanks.

We as a family of 3 have used this throughout this summer at the beach and at some lakes and have thoroughly enjoyed it. It is a little hard to pump up towards the end as other reviewers have said but it is very handy to carry to where ever you want then blow it up. It’s very sturdy on the water and has held all 3 of us sometimes but we are a slim family. It moves through the water very well and is easy to stand up on even in choppy waters. Overall it’s a brilliant kit and is good quality with everything you need to get you started.

Firstly, will point out that I bought this board in May when it was 325 so it has raised in price considerably.

However, very happy with my board. Got the barracuda with seat and it has been a great first board. The dimensions all equate to a sturdy, safe feeling board.

My pump stopped working (also worth mentioning that they often don’t show the psi until it is around 4-7) but I contacted the seller and was sent a replacement pump no issues. I have since bought a sup adapter for my car tyre pump which works well for a fraction of the price of a sup pump.

Very impressed with this board, looks fab which is a bonus.

    Great board

I have been using this about 4 times now both on the river an sea. I am a beginner on this however I found this to be very stable and comfortable. Myself and our 5 years can fit nicely and holds us very well. It is a bit difficult to inflate it up to the requirement however is not so bad…

Fantastic board, looks and feels much more expensive than it was and is really well made. Easy to inflate, although I would recommend an electric pump! Really solid when fully inflated. Paddle is ok for the money but will be upgrading soon. Accessories are all useful and if good quality, especially the seat and the change mat/bag. The only criticism really is the carry bag. It’s very poor and difficult to get all the kit in properly, my first bag had broken buckles and the seller very quickly sent a replacement bag but this went the same way, as did my brothers so we have both bought better quality bags, but all in all, highly recommended.

    Brilliant board for the money

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersReally pleased with this purchase. The fact it comes with a seat for conversion to a make-shift kayak allows me to have a couple of options depending on what I’m in the mood for.

It is very sturdy once inflated to the correct pressure which isn’t the easiest of tasks. The pump does a fairly good job and has a deflate option which enables you to get the board as flat as possible for easier packing up by sucking out all of the air.

The carry case is good because instead of it being a bag that you have to try and slide the board in to, it is a kind of wrap around with extendable clips allowing more space.

The changing mat is nothing special but might come in handy in places such as a beach helping to reduce the amount of sand in your wet suit.

The main fin is detachable which it needs to be for easier transport but this is easily done with a sliding action then screwed into place to keep it rigid and prevent loss.

Slight gripe is the paddle. Although it’s good because you can convert it from a single to double paddle the clip that is supposed to hold the length slides a little when wet, which it is obviously going to be.

  53. DeanJaramillo says:

Looked at SUPs for me and other half, and these fitted the bill.
Pumping up is a workout, but 10 mins from bag to water isn’t bad.
Board is good, I am 6ft and 87kg and it feels solid under me.
On a calm river, can manage an hour stood up, a real core work out!!
Have fallen in, but survived.. did get life jackets as not a confident swimmer, and they do add to confidence, although make it harder to get back on the board.
Packing up, bag does take the board and paddle etc. I did buy some additional straps to wrap around each one just to be 100% secure, and they are great. Keep all the extra bits in the wet bag, so know that I need both and will heave everything.
Highly recommended and good fun when I can relax

Great board for money. Paddle good. Light weight and floats. Pumps up quickly and easily. Biggest fail – BAG IS AWFUL !!! Even using deflate on pump to get as much air out as possible … it is impossible to get back in easily. And hate the pump being Velcro to the outside. Cheap rubbish design. Will be buying a new bag.

    Great board. Bag awful

Impressive board, I’ve had lessons before purchasing a board and looked around for a board. The design must have changed over time as mine looks like the photo on Amazon advert, and not like ones from photos people have been posting from the past. I went on the impressive specs of the board and weight the board can hold too.
The finish on this board is seriously impressive. I was a little worried at first that I didn’t know the brand, I was new to the scene.
But when shown up it’s fantastic and can’t fault it. The bag straps are a little shady and can see them breaking in time so looking for a better bag.
The fin is fine and must have been redesigned as it screws in fine and feels very secure.

I’m not a fan of the ore and already looking at upgrading it. The board itself feels amazing and light, so on the river and calm water it turns fast and goes so quick. Feels very stable and manoeuvrable. Friends who have been paddle boarding for a long time have had ago and been seriously impressed with the board also.

Can recommend it. Couple of little things I would change but out the board it’s fine. 🙂

Golden Review Award: 9 From Our UsersFirstly I haven’t been able to get out on this yet so I’m only commenting on the package as it’s arrived.
The board itself looks great although it is a work out to pump up, but that is the same for all SUPS. Be aware the pump gauge appears to do nothing until the board is well pumped up and the pressure properly increases so don’t panic that you can’t see the needle move straight away.
The pump itself seems adequate but I can see myself getting an electric pump at some point.
The paddle seems good, although I had to tighten the screws on the clasp to make sure it held together firmly. The ability to have a single or double ended paddle is great as the seat turns it very nicely into a kayak, brilliant for windy days or sitting my son in.
The wetsuit changing pad is a fab addition and I can see that being very useful.
The little things that elevate this board above similarly priced items are things like the built in GoPro holder. My GoPro fits perfectly and I can’t wait to get footage. Also the two side d-rings that I can see being useful, I’ve not seen another SUP with these but I’m thinking they could be used to moor up if you want to stop somewhere but don’t want to drag the board out onto the bank if your navigating a river. Overall I’m really pleased with my choice and glad I didn’t go for a cheaper version.
June addition – Been out on it a few times now and love, as does my son. Really happy with everything that came with it and very pleased I bought it when it was much cheaper too.

    A great SUP package.

This is a great beginner to intermediate board. Great kit. Has everything you need including a ‘kayak’ conversion seat, which makes this almost like a two in one purchase.

The quality of this product is very very good. Easy to inflate and surprisingly easy to deflate and roll away with its wrap around backpack provided.

The accessories are top quality too, a phone pouch, a changing mat that acts as a drawstring bag for any wet clothes or wetsuits etc.

In conclusion I can’t fault this board. Highly recommend it to anyone starting out in Supping!

Great quality and perfect for beginner boarders. Like a two in one purchase.

Birthday present to my shocked husband. Easy to blow up and looked very stable. He was a beginner but managed to stay up on the board for twenty minutes (the sea was calm). He loved it! Planning to get another for the family.

Wasn’t sure what to expect but have been very pleased with this over the summer easy to inflate and comes with everything you need. Only problem is the bag is a bit flimsy and one of the strap buckles broke (on the bag) but very happy

Seems well made and tough. Good through the water and great fun. However fin mechanism fiddly with small screw and plate to secure fin in place – (many SUP’s have this – is it really the best design available?)

Solid board, came with all advertised accessories and have had no issues with it. Taken it out the past couple of months at least once a week. Quick and easy to set up and pack away. The ability to clip on the seat and use the double paddle and the board as a kayak is great if the water is a little too choppy to stand. Would definitely recommend.

A great board with handy carry strap and seat. Disappointed no change mat- would be useful in the locations we use the board.

Golden Review Award: 17 From Our UsersThis feels solid, except the fin locking mechanism which does not inspire confidence. You must double check it before setting off as the bolt does not always engage when you think you are tightening it.

As for the paddle… what dunderhead thought it’s a good idea to sell black paddles, and metal ones that will soon sink (as water seeps in through the joints)…. Fall off the board in cloudy weather and dark waters, and your paddle can be easily lost. I am replacing the paddle with a fibre glass model (significantly lighter and never sinks), and they are not cheap. Cutting corners on something your life may come to depend on is not a good idea. I am also covering the paddle stick with reflective tape so that it can be easily seen in dark waters.

The carrying bag is not good and unlikely to last. The straps are too short and the middle strap can be impossible to fasten. On the whole, it would have been better to save up for a better brand.

UPDATE: the pump uses a non-standard connection for the hose at the pump end. The plastic that clips to the board at the other end is low quality and mine broke. I canot find a replacement hose that fits, so I must by a new pump….

Golden Review Award: 18 From Our UsersPaddleboard is fantastic and I have now been out on it 6 or 7 times. The board itself is brilliant and hasn’t let me down yet. The paddle works great and does the job. The pump works really well too and only takes max. 10 mins to pump up fully (only downside is the pump makes a squeaking noise every time I pump so will definitely need to sort that out). It came with the additional extras such as the repair kit and waterproof phone holder, but I have yet to use these so can’t comment.

I am around 5’8/5’11 and this board is a great size. The width is perfect for me too as I have average balance, however having a slightly wider board compared to others is handy to build my skills.

A strap on the bag snapped on one of my journeys which did make the day a nightmare but after contacting the reseller they sent out a new bag within 2 days!! I was very surprised and pleased.

5.0 out of 5 stars The whole Paddleboard set is grea

Size is true, easy to set up and a quality product which is being enjoyed by all the family.

Provided you do so in a certain way all items will fit back in the carry bag too.

Only comment would be straps on carry bag are a little thin and are uncomfortable to wear as a result. Would recommend padding out if you plan to carry on back for more than a few minutes.

Golden Review Award: 13 From Our UsersThere’s not really a recognised brand of SUP (that I could find anyway) so I went on the golden ratio for beginners of 10ft 6 x 32-33 x 5-6. This fit the bill so I purchased. I have to say it’s more than exceeded my expectations. It fits in the back of the car and can accommodate two reasonable sized adults. It’s very stable and moves through the water much faster than I expected. The adjustable paddle is excellent – I was able to do this standing on the board after an hour, it’s that simple. Pumping it up is easy until you get to about 8 PSI. After that it gets progressively harder. It’s fine for an adult with some weight behind them but, for instance, my 12 year old son put his whole body weight behind it around 10 PSI and it didn’t budge an inch. To give you an idea of how long it takes to set up, we parked the car, walked to the waters edge, pumped it up, put on our wet suits and were in the water within 30 mins. I think that’s pretty fast (and that was our first time). Overall I’m really very pleased with this SUP and look forward to using it more and more throughout the summer and beyond.

Golden Review Award: 11 From Our UsersBrilliant board for the price! The single action pump does work and you can get the board up to 15psi, it was a bit of a work out on the arms but not as bad as I thought it might be from reading other reviews. Just take a few breaks and you will have it up in 10 minutes. The board feels and looks solid, accessories ok but not as high quality as the board itself. I am 15.5 stone and 6’2 and had no concerns regarding the board sinking or not taking my weight. Started on my knees but did stand for about 2 minutes! I was lucky enough to purchase this package at 269 so do keep your eyes peeled as the price tends to jump around a bit. Final bit of advice, when deflating do not push the valve pin down too quickly as you will probably blow the valve, just release the air slowly. Great purchase, have fun!

Great entry level board for the price.

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersArrived a day earlier then expected so was happy with that. Exactly as it says whole kit to get going. First inflate was one hell of a work out but then the second time I inflated it I had quick breaks in between. Ideal starter kit and all round package glad I went with this one. Never done paddle boarding before and did end up in the water a few times but second outing came back dry. Would recommend and looking forward to getting out more on it.

Golden Review Award: 11 From Our UsersWhat a brilliant stand up paddle board, blown away by the quality of the actual board, the items it comes with are ok ish but the board is quality, took it down the river and swam next to a seal, get it, you won’t be disappointed, starts off as an idea but when you’re actually on the water it’s something much better.
