The best pan I have ever used; I have had this pan for several months now and it’s truly non-stick and the heat distribution is amazing. Even better is how easy itis to clean the pan; hot water is enough to dislodge any leftover food that is stuck on. Only con I have noticed is that some of the paint on the edges of the pan has chipped off but this it not on the actual cook surface so I don’t mind
RE: CAROTE Nonstick Frying Pan Skillet, Non-Stick Granite Fry Pan 8″
Purchased on Amazon.com
Lesson learned: Never sit down at your computer while leaving your pan on the stove.
Expensive Italian-made pans burn up just as easily as the lesser expensive China-made pans.
And in reading reviews, I found as many complaints about the expensive Italian-made pans as I found about the less expensive China-made pans. Reviews for both pans claimed that they warped, they chipped, they scratched, they couldn’t be used on high heat, and they contained toxins. So why pay 3x the price if you don’t have to?
This pan is fine, it does the job. I like the granite coating; it doesn’t scratch the same way that Teflon does and if you wipe the inside with a bit of oil, sticking won’t be an issue. I DO miss my Italian-made pan but these days, affordability takes precedence. This pan is relatively lightweight which makes it easy to pick up. The handle is screwed in tight. I like it a lot. I may even decide to buy more. Top marks.
Good size for an omelette or pancakes .Non stick ,wipe clean .
I initially purchased the smallest one, for making one person omelets and other egg items, but it’s so sturdy, easy to clean and pretty with that handle I bought two more sizes! I will enjoy these pans for a long time, I’m sure. I can’t overstate the value of seasoning these pans but, if you do, you’ll have an amazing cooking experience with them.
Bit small but my fault as didn’t check dimensions, but lovely to use, handle very comfortable. Very easy to clean cooks well. Was over packaged for what it is but very quick delivery. Quite solid so a bit slow to heat up but heat distribution good. Just need to buy a bigger one now!
Without doubt THE best frying pan I’ve ever bought. I’ve been using it now for two months and it’s still completely non stick with no hint of degredatio
I had been trying to make omelet’s in a large fry pan and they kept breaking up. After having my last rubbish omelet I found this pan on here. Ordered by 1pm next day it was being used to make lunch.
It is great, none stick and perfect size for a three egg and mushroom omelet.
Wipes clean in seconds.
Excellent for doing an omelet ect.
But most of all Excellent company to buy from, very quick delivery ,
Highly recommend.
Non stick & easy to clean! I will be buying more Carote cooking pots as this frying pan was so good!
I have used the pan only twice and with nonstick pans longlivety is the important thing. First impressions are excellent.
Received it just as described. And works absolutely well. Easy to clean.
Non stick:
Non stick seems to work, things will stick if your setting your cooker to the temperature of the sun so no pan will help there but I’ve found them fine.
Cleaning:
Yep, easy to clean.
Flat level / heat distribution:
The heat on the bigger one does fall off around the outsides but it is the size of the flat earth. But it is not completely flat, there is an elevation in the center but nowhere near as bad as most of the other pans I’ve had. I haven’t noticed any elevation on the smaller one.
Looks:
They look good, but its a frying pan, I don’t care at the end of the day…
Will I buy the in-between size?
Probably not, I will make do… Got some nice new wooden spatulas for cooking and set for a few years now.
Would I recommend them:
Ye, they are fine. Also no teflon.
I was looking to purchase amazing pans and the price really didn’t matter as I was tired of purchasing pans that did not hold up well. When I read the reviews on these pans I had to try one. I really liked the pan so I bought another. Then, guess what? Yup, I bought another. These pans are what you want. Oh, I forgot to mention…..they are VERY reasonably priced.
This pan is great!! Buy it and you won’t regret i
Remember, after washing and drying your new pan, season it before you use it for the first time – this makes all the difference. Instructions on how to do this is on the packaging. Highly recommended
I find most non stick pans lose their non stick quality’s over time, but so far so good with this one…… really good for omelettes and scrambled eggs….. and perfect size.
Use for omelettes every day
Very good product
Strong and reliable
Highly recommended
Non stick, easy to clean and also don’t need a lot of oil for frying!!
This pan is in a different league all together. It feels robust and heavy. Got a visibly thick base and lovely wooden handle to keep the heat off.
What’s more, if you are sensible about cooking, and use just a little oil, and not go full throttle on very high heat, you will be okay with this.
In the 3 months I had used this, I had made several omelettes, scrambled eggs, sausages, pan cakes, noodles and it had been absolutely fantastic.
– food didn’t stick to the bottom
– food was cooked nicely with even heat distribution
– Omlette etc was so easy to flip over
– after cooking, there is no spots or stains on the pan which need you to muscle your way through
– Pan base is solid and hasn’t deformed.
The pictures I have attached will hopefully convince you to buy this 🙂
Note: The photo of the empty pan o have attached was taken just after I finished cooking (& prior to washing). The last dish I made prior to taking this pic was scrambled eggs. You can see how clean it ends up as.
Recommend this pan very much. Enjoy cooking !
(colour & pattern and handle),
Good non stick finish,
can sometimes even
fry with no oil..
Works well.
A very good
little
frying pan.
(ideal on a small ring,
frying one egg
or
one/two/three sausages..
etc..)
Once heated, retains heat,
so can/should turn down
or maybe even off.
A v good pan.
A lovely little frying pan.
A good non stick surface
(& not PFE).
Only probs so far on my pan is
-discolouration on pan handle,
-slight scratches to non-stick,
-‘oil’ (or food) staining
on underneath of pan.
So far so good . Will order the larger one at some stage
I haven’t used it yet but I know it’s going to be fab
Thsi is good frying pan which looks nice, performs well and is easy to clean.
Easy to clean. I like it.
Best frying pan I’ve ever brought and excellent value for money. It cleans really easily.
I had all stainless steel pots and pans and wanted something easy to cook eggs on, and it’s perfect! It has actually become our go-to for most things we cook. The pan is super easy to clean and I still use a bit of spray or oil each time I cook on it, but have never had problems with anything sticking. I use on medium to medium-high heat only (never past a 7 on my glass cooktop) and it looks and works good as brand new after several months of use.
These pans are brilliant. Beautiful and truly non-stick. I now have four different sizes. BUT, don’t expect their 10″ skillet to take the lids from your other 10″ pans, they won’t. I have four other 10″ pans with lids that are all interchangeable. Those lids fit this 9.5″ pan. I had to return their 10″ pan because my lids fell to the bottom of the pan. Why make a 9.5″ pan AND a 10″ pan, which should be sold as 10.5″ because that’s what it is.
Very good frying pan, no sticking and Very easily cleaned (THANK YOU)
It does more than I expected with all the
different meal I’ve cooked in it. Good value
for money.
Great non stick pan. Works very well as described. Would buy agai
We are using it on an induction hob and the heat in the pan is pretty much instant
Love the colours and handle shape – feels great in your hand
othing to complain it does the job, you don’t need oil to use it which is a must for me, also really easy to clea
Light weight pan and the handle is NOT real wood.
Great pan just small for our houses needs but easy to clean and heats up quickly on our induction hob.
Great pan. I’ve been using for about 2 months now. Still looks like new. Went and bought 3 more pans. Tossed out my Teflon. First of all, high heat not needed also company recommended not putting pans in dishwasher, and I don’t. Just a quick soapy rinse does the trick every time. The small fry pan I purchased has been used 4-5 times a week for morning eggs, used with a bit of butter in pan. Still looks and works excellent. Not put in dishwasher either. Will buy a few for Christmas gifts. They really need a saucepan size 2-3 quart, 1.5 qt size small, but still gets used.
I tried one of those “As seen on TV” copper “nonstick” pans. Within two weeks the copper pan had food stick to it worse than any other pan in the house! Not so with the granite pan. I did my homework and found a pan that everyone seemed to agree is actually nonstick. It’s 100% true. I don’t do crazy things like placing caramel or cheese in the pan by itself, but I do make scrambled eggs with cheese. The cheese that came in contact with the pan came right out. I personally use butter in the pan for flavor, but I’m pretty sure the pan would still be nonstick without it. I recommend for anyone whose tired of scraping frying pans and for those who got suckered into buying an “As seen on TV” frying pan.
