Nachdem eine zuvor bestellte Bresser einfach nicht ins W-LAN wollte und der Support keinen Support lieferte habe ich nach Forumsrecherchen eine Ecowitt Station geordert. Einfache Installation und genauste Messwerte (Flughafenstation zum Vergleich in der Nhe). Habe direkt weitere Sensoren fr andere Rume dazugeordert. Und die Internetverbindung ist berhaupt kein Problem (Weathercloud usw.).
7 in 1 Aussensensor einfach auf einen Mast montiert und ausgerichtet. Hlt bis jetzt zuverlssig.
Nach einen Monat im Betrieb hat es endlich mal wieder geregnet, auch hier alles wie es soll. Bin rundum zufrieden, ein Super Preis/Leistungsverhltnis. Die englische Anleitung kann zur Not ber google bersetzer bersetzt werden, ansonsten ist das deutsche Men weitestgehend selbsterklrend.
Whilst looking at reviews on other weather related forums, This product stood out along side more expensive automatic weather stations like the Davis Vantage V2 Pro. I decided to purchase the Ecowitt HP2551AF for 167.00. This is my first weather station and so far everything has been tested and works fine. Even connected it seamlessly to Metoffice WoW and Weather Underground.. The console is very intuitive but navigating around setting takes a bit of getting used to as its not a touchscreen. All in all a fair price and a great product. Just wish the Ecowitt.net site displayed the lightning detected and miles away on a vector map to pinpoint strike location and direction of storm. But of course their is lightningmaps.org and Astrogenic systems StrikeStar now microsferics.com
Great weather station with lots of features very accurate readings.
In the last 10 years I have gone through three weather stations. They all broke down after two years or so. This was my fourth station. The main unit’s LED fired a signal every 16 seconds, as described in the manual. However, the console didn’t pick it up, nor was there any indication it was looking for a signal. It read the internal sensor correctly. I tried the unit on my work bench, the sending unit one foot from the console. Is there any one out there who can produce a reliable weather station?
I have now found out that I returned this unit prematurely. I didn’t realize that one could “re-register” each sensor, which I missed. I reordered the unit, and guess what: it worked flawlessly out of the box. I am very pleased with this unit. My fervent hope is that it will last more than two years.
Great weather station. Screen is big, not as big as my previous acuweather panel however. Easily connects to weather underground. The ecowitt app is garbage, will not connect and the customer support is the same as the app, horrible.
Having used this station for a year now, it has proven to be reliable. The only issue I had was an outdoor temp/humidity sensor stopped working. An email to Ecowitt was quickly responded to and a new sensor sent to me with complete instructions of how to change it out. No cost to me at all. Customer support has been excellent from them.
A great home weather station that reads and records all kinds of weather info including temperature, dew point, humidity, wind, rain, solar radiation, and UV index.
Just before winter started here in Northern Ontario, I put high quality lithium batteries in the unit to help it perform on those frigid days and nights, and so far so good. The station is amazingly accurate. The only thing I find off on it is the wind speed reading and it seems to read less that the actual speed but aside from that I’m very happy with the unit.
Needed this for farm living, sensors are very accurate have checked against other devices. Just have trouble getting it connected to wunderground. Easily connected to ecowitt.

Nice weather station at an excellent point price. Wry easy to put together … only downside I can see so far is that the little inside thermometer meter only displays in Celsius while the unit I have set to Fahrenheit. Other than oddity it is a great system. Integration with the Wundergound weather station site was seamless and now I have an app for my phone that I can use to look at my weather station and those close to mine!
Love the colourful display on the console and the min-max values that it stores. Hooked it up to weather undergroung website quite effortlessy….now I can look up the information on mt laptop….I think its way better than my old acurite unit.
This weather station is an easy use device to monitor weather conditions at home and providing information to help plan recreational outdoor activities.
Item is well built and the screen is bright and packed with info, if anyone had read my first review where I was having calibration problems that was a battery issue, with that sorted I really like having access to my data from my phone and there are multiple websites you can upload too if you so choose.
Works very good and the basic setup was very easy. However the WiFi connection process is not really well documented and took some trial and error to get it working.

Replaced my Ambient Weather station with this as the humidity reading was stuck at 62%. Took the old one apart, cleaned the fiberglass bag with 99% alcohol and now I have two working stations
I like it. It replaced accurite after they changed their bridge and wanted to charge for it. This item is a little pricey, but way more better. After 6 weeks so far so good. Have to see how it performs at -40…..
I did a great deal of research prior to ordering the Ecowitt HP2551, a replacement for a cheap La Crosse that was unreliable. Ecowitt is manufactured by Fine Offset in Shenzhen, China who also produce Ambient, Froggit and Misol Professional Weather Stations. It came on sale with Amazon so made the purchase.
The Weather Stations are WiFi therefore eliminating cable connection and the range for data transmission is excellent. The large high resolution screen console is first rate allowing for all the data to be displayed. I have checked the data transmission with Environment Canada for our area and it is very accurate.
I have it mounted on the high point of the roof gable end and this is an ideal location. I am waiting for the bird spikes to repel any issues with crows and also a micro SDHC card for software upgrades.
The setup was fairly easy entering data and then connectivity to Weather Underground and Ecowitt.net. Viewing the DATA uploaded onto these sites is an education. I will add a Soil Moisture monitor later to work with the HP2551.
In all an excellent investment for keen weather observers.
This unit arrived quickly and was easy to setup and has worked well in the first month of the Candian winter.. My biggest disappointment is the small display which is is hard to read at any distance, but I usually monitor the reading via PC software.

As far as I can tell the wind speed accuracy is bow the true value, but that isn’t very important to me.
I absolutely love being able to access the temperatures from my phone, both of the main station and the auxiliary sensor which I keep in my garage.
This does everything I wanted for a fair price. If it lasts at least five years I will be completely satisfied. These things take a bit of a beating being completely exposed outdoors. Keep in mind a professional quality station that does the same thing is close to ten times the price
I wish the screen was a bit larger so I could easily read it across the room. I was not surprised it was small – they clearly advertise the screen size. But there is so much data packed in the display, making the screen double the size would be a great improvement.
I love the permanent temperature graph on the screen. Couldn’t live without it now.
I am a weather-obsessed person who has owned many remote thermometers and have a large collection of outdoor exotic plants which are temperature sensitive. I monitor the weather obsessively.
Fantastic product. But I wish I paid $70 more and got the bigger screen one. But still a great product and as far as I see the larger screen cam be bought as a separate accessory.

This weather station is great. I have had it for 10 months now and it is very accurate and works well. Ecowitt support is also amazing and answers question quickly.
This unit was bought to replace my old station (different vendor) that had multiple issues and started to fail. It is very easy to set up out of the box and get everything connected (senors, base unit, wifi, and wunderground). It has been up and running for two weeks now and through two major storms with very accurate results reported.
Good system that records accurate local measurements. The local weather station never represented what was happening right in my back yard. Now I know if I should water the lawn and garden. Was unable to succesfully like to Weather Underground, but the Ecowitt.net page does make it easy to track on your phone.
Overall this is a good weather station and easy to bring into operation. Uploads to Weather Underground and WOW are very easy. Manual is very comprehensive, easy to understand and helpful. The console is a bit small, although quite readable. I would give the EasyWeather2 software a failing grade. Previous versions of software were actually much better. I am a little disappointed that the API for reading data in 3rd party software is unavailable. Perhaps this will be upgraded in the future.
It looks well built but will have to wait and see how it stands up in winter. The display panel is smaller than I would like. I like that you can post your weather results on line.
Love this unit. Bought 3 different systems and this one is the only one that just works.
I also love the WU sync. Only issue I have is the receiver isn’t wall mountable. I have a Touch screen PC in my kitchen and would have liked a WU screen saver , but that’s a WU issue not the unit.
It’s a nice unit you just tied up but the readings are very inaccurate does not pick up the right wind speed not measure the water I know where I put it put 900 feet in the air still didn’t read so buyer beware
I had to upgrade my weatherStation because the previous one would not report my data to weather underground without an upgrade. First of all I would not recommend purchasing this WeatherStation if you’re looking to have a large display to place on the wall. In fact the screen it is about the size of the original iPhone. This WeatherStation really shines when you want to share the data with Weather Underground or other websites. To my surprise, it even logs wind gusts when transmitting to Weather Underground. As for the setup, this one was pretty darn seamless. The company has done a very nice job programming the unit. Use the App to setup the weather station first. Make sure you update the firmware as there are a few nice new added features. Just go to the website and download the .bin files You will also need a Micro SD Card.
Seems to be very accurate and I love the look of it. I enjoy comparing the data to other stations on weatherunderground. The display console is a bit small, but not a huge deal for me.
Purchased and received this unit on Jan 15th. Great manual which gives step by step setup that was fairly easy. The unit itself is good quality. I mounted the unit in my back yard and had the readings up and running in no time. I live in Northern Ontario Canada and for the last couple weeks we have been under a polar vortex, meaning its really really cold here. We have had temperatures in the -40’s on a regular basis and last night was feeling like -49c. Even with these temps the unit is working great.
I did have a problem getting it to work with wunderground and I emailed support. They provided fast courteous service to help me out. Everything is working great. Have no problem recommending this product. Very reasonably priced.
I am very pleased with my ECOWITT HP3500B . So far it has worked as it should . I contacted Ecowitt on Facebook about a small glitch I had , and they responded very quickly to resolve it.
Great weather station, the tft screen is really nice, way better than an lcd. Smaller than I expected but that is a good thing, Recommended. Can’t seem to change the indoor sensors units to metric because not everyone lives in the 3 countries still in the stone age.
This was easy to set up, though the instructions are limited. The weather station itself is about 50 ft away from the base display and works very well. The base display is what connects to the internet and that too works perfectly. My weather station data goes to WeatherUnderground and another online personal weather station site via the web, with no problems. Fantastic and affordable unit. Just get several feet of 1/2 or 3/4 inch steel pipe from the hardware store and use the included pipe clamps to attach. I put mine on an old clothesline base that now serves as a bird feeder.

Quality of this product is good. Used ore expensive products before. Has good features as well remote viewing via app possible.

I had an different make before this beats the old by a long shot. The display is on the small side, but can still be easily read. I like it.

So far, so good. Installed the weather station on October 11th and have been very pleased with it to this point.

In the past I have had a few Accurite units that have all died for various reasons.
The Ecowitt is a large improvement. More accurate, better display and readable anywhere via internet.
It works great and is a wonderful help in weather watching

as advertised, first time connection to weather underground was kind of iffy, but it settled out after a day.
