Works well putting an edge on my hedge- and grass-cutting shears. It’s now hanging on a hook in the shed (useful having an eyelet on the handle), so it’s always there when I need it. Sharpens well without oil.
I’ve only had it for a week or two so I can’t comment on durability, but it looks as if it’s built to last.
The tool arrived on the arrival date. The tool looks and feels sturdy and would go as far to say well made. Not used yet, but can’t wait to use it. I’ve never used nor had a tool like this before but I’m sure it will do the job.
Price: I would say is good, I wouldn’t pay more.
This is so easy to use. I’ve sharpened my secateurs and loppers and edging tools and spades and the axe and then I took in round to my Mum’s and did the same for her.
It makes a real difference to have genuinely sharp tools. I wish I’d bought it 30 years ago!
I purchased to sharpen curved grass heads on hand held trimmer, doesn’t quite do the job, but fine on flat blades.
Great sharpener. Used it for my loppers and secateurs. Well worth the money. Would recommend.
This is a fine toothed sharpening file good for a number of tasks like sharpening lawnmower and other tool blades. The blades last longer now and sharpening is far cheaper than buying new blades instead. Keeping the angle of the file consistent while sharpening is needed for this method to work.

This diamond cut sharpening blade is similar to the other reviews, in which the photos they have attached, shows the blade having the coating scarred and removed by a single use on gardening equipment. I used both sides of the blade, the coarse and the fine. But even after following the instructions to do this, I don’t feel the gardening tool I tried to sharpen is any sharper or better. If a better outreach for users is provided, then instead of returning this, I could try it again on a different item.
UPDATE: I have now adjusted my use of this tool and never used the fine edge on the opposite side after using the coarse. This worked a lot better on my hedge shears. A lot sharper, cleaner cut and crisp sound when using them.
I have used this on a few things including hedge and hand shears and it works great and easy to use
Poor quality, wore off the abrasive film that was supposed to do the job. Don’t waste money on this.
Easy to carry around, light, efficient. If a tool has become particularly blunt or damaged, I might use a file to get nicks out of the blade and do the main sharpening, but then this great tool will give the best finish. And it won’t snap like some sharpening stones can.
I bought this sharpener for myself and have found it so useful that I bought a second one as a gift.

successfully sharpened my wife’s dressmaking scissors. Gently and with a good eye on the angles it works well.
Well constructed – I have used it to sharpen two pairs of secateurs and two pairs of scissors and it has worked well.
However it does look as if this has removed a good bit of the abrasive surface.
The instuctions do say “Don’t press too hard” which I may have done.
So at this point my experience is inconclusive – but it is certainly not a rubish product – next time I will make a greater number of passes with less pressure. – So that is my reccommendation – Use it gently and it should be OK.
Does what it is supposed to do. What else can I say?

This is a great tool for any gardener! I’d never used anything for my garden shears. They were rusty and blunt. Looked at the instructions and within 5 minutes they were overly and sharp!

Purchased this for my garden tools such as shears and loppers which were quite heavily blunt. Didn’t really do the job as I needed a sharpening tool much more coarse.
I would say this tool is for keeping a consistent sharpness with regular use and is better suited for kitchen knives
Have used on several knives in the kitchen and has worked very well, not yet used on anything big like garden sheers or lawn mower blades but am confident that it will do the job. Excellent value for money so far.

Bought this a few weeks ago and was impressed by the customer service of the company who took trouble to send me pdfs in advance with instructions for the tools I purchased. I also bought some shears.
Today I read the instructions and out I went to my very blunt tools including secateurs, shears and loppers. Most impressed as they are all now living to fight another day! Thank you.
This is a gift for my dad but this product is exactly as it’s described and is good value for money. The quality of service from the seller is great, they took the time to email me some helpful hints and tips about using the product too.

The course side is good for bigger tools, and seems to sharpen well. I would prefer the fine side to have a curve too, as it is difficult to sharpen curved pruning knives. Generally good value and well made, but cannot comment on durability as not used for long.
Great for sharpening all types of blades, with one curved side – I’ve used that for a hand scythe and pruning shears, plus a flat side which worked well on penknives / nurserymens knives and a long bale knife.
So far the diamond coating seems to be holding up..

If you are like me, a novice in tools sharpening, and look forward to finding a clear instruction inside the packaging, you will be disappointed. There is no explanation or guide whatsoever given on how to use this sharpener, e.g. at what angle, which surface to sharpen Still, after trial and error, I managed to sharpen two pairs of worn secateurs with good results, although it is not clear if this is the best result one could expect from sharpening these tools. For that it earned a 4 star rating.
