Great quality hose. The spring return is solid. Highly recommended!
So far so good, the hose that connects to the compresser could be a little longer. Had to go to HF to get hose extension.
Installed in a specialty cabinet, unit adjusted exactly to where I needed the mount. Only complaint is the sheer force and speed of the retract, you MUST hang onto the hose tightly or it will whip it like an possessed toddler with a live snake and damage will occur.

The spring is really strong so far I wash the mount tab came off easier for the install and the connecting hose coulda been a foot longer other than that it’s worked flawlessly since I installed it.

They are sending me a new one. great customer service.
It would work Ok at a hobby shop or home shop. Not sturdy enough for a commercial shop, the reel is kinda flimpsy the hose is actually pretty good. If you are a high volume shop I wouldn’t recommend it.

Why don’t you run bracket mounting holes outside the bracket,just by making frame wider,or something like removable bracket in your power cord reel?

Spend 2 hours mounting it,and I did it on 3 out of 4 bolts halfway.
Didn’t test it for air yet.
Reel stop and release mechanis seems to work fine so far.
This seems to be a good product. I did have to order a replacement after the first began giving problems after a week or so. It would give full pressure for only a minute, then tail off to nothing. Checked to make sure it wasn’t the compressor or the feeder line (they were ok).
Messaged the seller and they immediately responded and sent a replacement. Excellent customer service. The new reel is working great. I will give it increased stars after i give it a month or so to ensure it is still working.
Not used it extensively yet but it appears well made , all mounting bolts come with it easy to install , retraction and retraction system work well , only thing it could do with is rollers do you can drag the hose out sideways
I installed this in my garage, over a pancake compressor. If you’re installing in on a wall, you’ll need something more robust than the mounting hardware they provide. I bolted in to 2x4s to my wall stud, then mounted this unit to the 2x4s. It’s very sturdy.
The only ding I have is that the hose running from your compressor to the reel is only about 3′ and stupid me didn’t measure it before I installed the reel, so I was about an inch and half too far away. I ended up putting my compressor on some bricks to raise it up. Would be nice if the connecting hose was a bit longer.
Otherwise, seems like a good reel so far.
Well, the reel seems to be of good quality and the ratcheting system is strong and very smooth. The spring has no trouble pulling the entire hose back even when I’ve maxed it out. But there are some things I don’t particularly like that I wish I’d researched a little more before buying this.
1) There are only 2 rollers on the hose guide (top and bottom). The good ones always have four to make it easy to pull the hose in any direction.
2) Installation requires you to get your own hardware, and to unspool the hose.
a. The included hardware is 4 expansion-bolts which are great for masonry, but won’t work for a wood-frame structure.
b. The mounting holes on the reel are right behind the hose, so to tighten them I had to unspool the entire hose and use a socket extender to be able to tighten the lag-bolts I used.
c. To install in above mentioned wood structure, I used a 2″x 8″ piece of lumber and secured that to the studs. I then mounted the reel onto the 2″ x 8″.
3) Inadvertently, I discovered that the connection between the hose and the reel (not the leader) is permanent. That was disappointing because I had hoped to replace the hose with one my existing (better quality hoses). To me this means that if the hose fails, I might end up having to buy a whole new reel.
For the price, this thing is decent. It will serve its purpose, and it works just fine. It’s just those little things that could be better that left me a little disenchanted with my purchase.
