I’ve done grass seed before many years ago, thought I’d try the amazon version of seed, well 9 days later the photo says it all. Bright green and growing every day.
After being decimated by leather-jackets earlier this year, I repaired my lawn with this grass seed and it has now returned to its former glory!! It’s so good that I’ve even recommended it to my neighbours!! No gimmicks – just good old fashioned grass seed in a bag!! Great stuff!!
Every summer we put a large paddling pool down in the garden. At the end of summer there’s always a big patch of dead grass.
We have used this brand for several years and never had any issues. Covers well, lovely strong green grass in a few weeks.

I don’t have grass in my garden so being able to grow my own and know that it has no chemicals added or been soiled by pets or anything else, gives me piece of mind that he is getting the best food possible.
Really good seeds, grew within a week and was ready to be cut after 2-3 weeks. Its now been a couple of months and my garden is green and full again. Will definitely be using again next year.
Easy to use, just rake up any dead grass, then simply spread over, I did put a little sprinkling of compost over the top but not necessary.
After 7 days (with rain) the grass grew and the photo shows my lawn after about 6 weeks.

Used this product to repair my ailing lawns that had been infested with weeds for years and the weed killer had left great patches of bare garden. This seed was perfect for the job of replenishing my lawn.
Love this seed, I got a bag of my son in law ,who had bought a few bags previously to sow a new lawn, with great lush green grass as the result, I used it to fix a patch of dead lawn with the same amazing speedy ,lush results , so I bought another bag to re seed my scraggy looking front lawn and I can’t wait to see the result , I’m confident it will be lush, thank you for a great product , I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it to anyone .
After five days from sowing the seeds the grass was already sprouting, after ten there was nice coverage, now after two weeks there is the start of a very nice lush lawn. I couldn’t be more pleased with the results.

The packaging has clear & precise instructions on how to prepare the area requiring seeding so it’s extremly easy to use even if you have no clue what your doing. The bag I purchased came with a selection of different strains of hard wearing grass seeds that will have the lawn revived in no time.
I’ve bought 5 bags of this over the past 18 months and it works brilliantly. Just put the seed down and water it daily for 2 weeks. It grows healthily and with a good colour green. Put down the seeds generously. The picture included in this review is about 20 meters long and 1.5m wide, I used 3.5 bags of seed to get this coverage.
This was my first time doing any form of gardening, so I wasn’t sure what to expect. I was starting from a completely destroyed lawn, so there was no grass whatsoever, but just 2 weeks after sowing these, we had a fully green garden! There are some patches where the seeds were unevenly sown, but I have no problem now, in simply ordering more and covering those patches. The grass is also pretty hardy, with people walking on it after 2-3 weeks, and it seems to be ok so far!
Easy to scatter onto a large bare patch on the lawn. Did not seem to be working and then suddenly small green leaves appeared and got bigger and bigger. The patch is now grass again.
The grass seed has germinated and grown. It is slower than previous seed I’ve used, which could be advantageous if you want to mow less frequently, but with young children it’s meant use of this area of the lawn has been restricted for longer.

We bought this seed to fill in a border in our garden. It is a very shaded spot behind the fence in our south facing garden so while the rest of our garden gets sun most of the day this border doesn’t. We were pleased that after 3 days the grass was already coming through and now after 6 days almost covered. Would definitely recommend this product as did exactly what it said it would

I recently dug over my lawn and used this to completely regrow my lawn back. I had grass within a week. It’s been down a month now and the lawn is lush and green. Almost carpet like. Will definitely purchase again.

This is the best grass seed to get by miles! I’ve tried evergrow and all that and it didn’t grow. I got this seed and it started growing with in literally 3 days. Though 1 bag does no where near 60sqm, I don’t know where they get that idea from. I have a 6m x 3m garden and needed 5 bags. Make sure you get a roller for after you put the seed down.
Great price. Great delivery time. Although very fine it spreads well and has germinated in all but a few places. (my fault. Lack of water relied on the rain). Will by again for use in the Spring. Recommended.
I’ve only just put the seed down, so can’t comment on how easy it will Grow or how fast. Good value for money compared to the retailers near to me. Used for over seeding, thought I would need 2 bags but it went much further than I expected. So I now have a bag ready for next spring.
Bought this instead of the previous brand I used because of availability. I raked the dead grass off sprintkled this very liberally, using the entire 1kg bag across what is probably 20 sq m of dead lawn of the front garden. Afterwards, covered it back over with the dead grass. Probably not the best way to have done this, but I was in a hurry.
Watered it first time, then 2 days where there were showers did the rest, and within 7 days, there’s signs of new life!

Used on area I had rotovated and prepared for a new lawn area. Fast germination and great cover. A lush green lawn of strong thick blades in weeks. Much better than any I have used in the past.
It’s very difficult to review as I haven’t used it yet, all I can say is it looks ok but I know it’s going to be tough to germinate this time of year (Oct)
If I can’t get it to grow I will order another batch next spring.
Sowed a couple of weeks ago and seems a bit slow but I reckon it’s probably cos of the season but I’ve really done it for oversowing during the winter so we’ll see how it goes

I have used this seed several times to repair bare patches on our lawn and its the best seed i have used.Grows very easily and produces super lush grass . I would highly recomend this grass seed.
After having a pool up all summer there was a big area off dead grass, also lots of burnt grass from the excellent heat we’ve had this summer. So I prepared the grass by cutting at the lowest setting then scarified to remove moss and dead grass/thatch (second picture), I then spread a thin layer of topsoil then 2 bags off this seed. The first picture is after 3 weeks, I watered only in the evening when there wasn’t any rain.
I put half this grass seed down last weekend and it was thoroughly rained in. However, since this time we’ve had no more rain so I’m glad I didn’t put it all down. I’ll now wait for a wetter patch of weather.
I found giving the ground some fresh soil helps get the seeds started. Cover them up to stop the pigeons eating them all! Keep watering and 3-4 weeks later, new grass.
I’ve not mown the patches until week 7 or 8 to allow the new grass to settle, but cutting the tops off with garden shears helps root development.
A good quality mixed seed which creates a well balanced lawn. Ideal for patch repairs or resending.

Bought this for indoor cats. From sowing to eating in 6 days!
Bought the seeds when we got a female puppy that was destroying the lawn because of burned urine patches and some digging. We are not winning the battle to keep the lawn looking good, but these seeds have certainly helped stopped it looking like a total disaster. We just scarify up the dead grass, mix the seed with compost and place it on the bare patches and press it down. Even with so little preparation, the seed germinates well and very quickly. Obviously doing this in the summer months and watering the patches everyday helps speed up germination and during the autumn and spring it is going to take longer than the 7 to 10 days it takes now.

Where the birds or wind has taken it on to the patio, it has even grown in-between slabs. Yep a good product.

Put these down about 5 days ago and already showing signs of need grass coming through.
I used these seeds for overseeding following the scarification of a very old lawn and have been very impressed with the results. While I have not scarified lawns before and so have nothing to compare the results against I am very pleased with the outcome and the lawn is now looking very healthy. I will be repurchasing again in the autumn to carry out another scarification and overseed
Out of the 3 or 4 different brands of Lawn seed that I’ve bought from Amazon over the years, this has been by far the best.
Bought it to fill in some patches after damage done by my sisters dogs, looking after them over the winter turned some of the lawn into a mud pie.
Germinated around a quarter of the seed, 50/50 mixed with compost, in a tray in the greenhouse early May, temps around 10 degrees C, lightly watered it once.
Waited to see some green flecks in the mix. Partly to see if it would actually germinate, mostly to give it a little bit of a head start. Took around 4 days for germination/green flecks to start showing.
Cut and aerated the whole lawn. Raked the patches over with the soil being damp/lose, putting the 50/50 mix on the patches, then topping with un-germinated seed and a light dusting of top soil. Rolled over the patches very lightly and left it.
Two weeks in we had a dry spell, so I watered the patches with a shower head attached watering can in the evening over 3 days, until the next rain.
At that point the patches had a green stubble, but some of the seed could still be seen (might have just been the husks).
After another 2 weeks I gave the lawn a very high cut, missing the stubble. After I mixed some of the clippings with water and gave the patches a little natural feed.
It’s now August and the lawn is looking very lush emerald green. The grass where the patchs had been is a little on the spindly side compared to the rest, but that’s to be expected with new growth.
The birds really didn’t seem to bother with this seed at all for some reason.
If I was to do it again, I would buy twice as much and rake further out from the patches, so the new growth would blend better with the old.

My family and I just moved in a new house with a garden for the first time in our life, we are novice gardeners! We wanted to grow grass on one side and I have to say, those seeds are easy to use and lovely quality as well as good value.
As we learned over the weeks, gardening require a lot of patience!! But this was well worth it as we are having a wonderful green thick grass popping out.

I absolutely love this grass seed, I had some big patches in the grass from where the mole left them, the seed grew unbelievabaly fast, within 2 weeks.
Just make sure you lightly rake over the seeds when down, as I ended up wasting some of the seeds! I’ve bought 4 packets since

I tested just a section of my garden but I am now buying again to do the rest as the results were fantastic and my photos are only 5 weeks between each other
You do need to give it attention so I watered my grass patch every day (not soaking but a good water) and just like any plants or grass it needs attention and consistency and it will work
I did take the dead top layer of grass and started to put the seed straight in the soil which worked bes
Used to try to repair areas of lawn damaged by prolonged building work.
Where I have broken the top surface and spread the seed, covering with fine sifted soil it started to grow after 3 days.
Once it started it grows very fast. Only failed to grow where I was too lazy to break the compacted surface before sowing seeds and covering.
1kg will certainly go a long way. Too early to tell how robust it will be. Pleased so far.
I ordered 2 bags of this grass seed. After 3 weeks absolutely nothing. I got in touch with the seller, who sent out another 2 bags free of charge. After only a week it has begun to sprout. I can only assume the first 2 bags were duds, That’s the l reason I have given 4 stars.

I never write reviews but this grass seed is amazing! The pictures are after 7 weeks on the left of the picture and only 4 weeks on the right side. I couldn’t actually believe it when I checked the dates of the photos. The few patches are obviously on the newer side. I’ve ordered more for the rest of my garden and I can’t wait to have a fully grassed garden before the end of summer thanks to this seed!
After the turf failed and numerous patch repair seed failures. Something had to give. Rip it up or try something different. So stiff lawn rake to remove the moss and then lawn sand. Then this yard repair seed. Covered with soil and watered. Not a quick grower for me but 14 days later signs of success. First cut after it reached 10 inches (no mow May). Yes it’s yellowed a bit after that but it’s recovering. Hopefully I’ve found a winner. The Summer will tell.
This is the first time I am leaving a review on amazon as I am really excited with the results. I haven’t been through this process before nor have I used any other seeds previously to compare but I will just leave the pictures for anyone interested in these seeds.
I’ve raked the soil and sprinkled the seeds. I then applied fertiliser and put a thin layer of soil. I worked in small segments and didn’t manage to complete this before my 2 week holiday, but these are the results and I am very impressed.
As an experienced gardener, these seeds take about 10 days to germinate even whilst keeping them moist. Once geminated they offer good coverage and overall are good value.
Sowed in late March and even with a frost one night the grass still came up in about a week. After a month it’s really thick. Certainly wouldn’t cover the area it says but for doing a few patches it was great.
Although it’s more expensive than supermarket brands, the quality is so much better. The weather is quite dry so it’s growing better in the warm shady areas where the ground doesn’t dry out so fast. It is growing elsewhere but patchy so far which isn’t a bad thing as every day I’m finding new patches developing. I’m so impressed as the seed from tesco has taken well over a month to germinate in comparison to this one which was well on its way within a week.
I advise to water it and rake it all in after its been placed on the ground or even get the ground wet and stomp it in a bit. It grows a lot better if it’s covered with a layer of something e.g. mud, mulch,compost ( the bit with compost grew the best so far) or even spread cut grass over the top to stop it drying in the sun so fast.
I love my new grass and will buy again if needed in the future.

I bought some lawnseed from this company. It arrived speedily and looks to be in good condition. I am still waiting for it to germinate and will report on progress.
Didn’t think the grass would grow during February but gave it a go anyway and it grew and looks good. I’m not sure how well it will withstand hot weather or being stood on though. Added a photo of the new grass growing along the fence where there was a flower bed before

not too bad i suppose, the seed I used for sowing originally
showed in 10 days and shot up really quick, allowing me
to oversow before the weather changed. Most of the seed
sprouted, but still have some lying around, overall happy
with outcome, still have extra for when needed.
I bought this seed and did minimal preparation on the patches before putting down the grass seed. Although I forgot to take photos before, I have added a picture of some of the areas where I didn’t apply seed to and also photos of where 2 weeks ago the grass was burnt and bare and as you can see the grass has already started to grow. I am not very green fingered and have continued to walk on all of the grass including the seeded areas and my dog still goes on the garden daily.
To use the seed, I simply took up the dead grass, punctured holes in the soil and watered well, then sprinkled the seeds on and gently pressed down with my feet and watered again.
Very impressed and will certainly be buying more to help rebuild the areas where my lovely little pup has decided to rip up my turf!
I have bought two packs of this seed, once to fill patches plus a one foot strip where I’d widened my lawn, and the second time to seed a new patch of lawn after a redesign.
On the first use (March), the seed took a few weeks of watering and care to show properly and was a lot darker than the surrounding lawn so the patches were pretty obvious but to be fair the new grass was lush and of good quality.
The second time I was starting from bare soil as I had redesigned a part of my garden so needed to ‘square-off’ the lawn. Sowing in June was completely different; within days of hot weather and using a sprinkler the new lawn was evident and growing strongly. I sowed by hand so there are some thin patches and again the new lawn is much darker in colour than the original.
I would therefore recommend this seed but it works best if starting from bare soil if you are fussy about how your lawn looks otherwise I would use it again to patch fill or thicken some patchy parts of my lawn.
You would have to be pretty careful to sow this evenly to achieve the 60sqm from one bag so if in doubt over order!
I didn’t find it quick growing. It finally started to show around day 17. But wasn’t starting to form a lawn until after 4 weeks. I brought a second bag and doubled up on the seed. Sadly it’s still growing through and it’s still patchy on day 44. I still water on the evening because we are currently getting sunny weather. It looks like I may now need to purchase a 3rd bag to get a complete lawn. Disappointing when the description says I would only need one bag for this area. On the positive note the grass that has started grown looks like a nice lawn. So only recommend this is your willing to wait upto 2 months plus for a lawn and purchase additional bags.
Update 70 days later and the lawn has come up In a lovely green. Although still patchy and I still may need to purchase a 3rd bag. However I do like the lawn so I’ve upgraded to 4 stars now. Be prepared to wait.. sowed 25th April 2021 the last photo was taken on the 4th July 2021.
