The tool, the blade end is fantastic. However Harbour have seen fit to put a square profile handle into a round socket. Also to put a bicycle handlebar grip handle on the square profile handle. This comes off!! The tool works fantastic but it really needs a round profile handle
This is probably the most useful item that I have in my gardening toolbox. It cuts into the soil and into weeds like butter and has a good balance/feel to it. The rubber handle also makes it great to grip and hold.
I bought one direct from the company about 4 years ago, to use at the allotment. It is still going great. This is my second one, to use at home. A totally, without reservation, purchase/item.
Exactly what I needed to get rid of those fast growing weeds.
The tool is light and easy to use for digging & hacking small roots. Much easier to weild than a hatchet although suited to lighter work, eg soil & thin roots.
Got a splinter for the wood but lovely bit of ki
Overall this is pretty poor quality. This is exactly what you will find in an asian countryside village market for a couple of dollars .
However this does not matter. You swing it down it wacks your weeds and clears your ground. Today I had a Dutch hoe my wife the Asian hoe. The asian hoe inmo is infinitly superior for clearing an overgrown allotment bed.
Tommorow I will either glue or nail the handle cover on as it is held on by friction and it comes off if you have a loose grip. I expect a few years use out of it.
12.99 is a bit cheeky but it is an effective tool. I also see what I am sure is exactly the same tool from the same factory for a lot more money so maybe I should not complain
Would I pay a bit more for better steel shaft and workmanship? Not a lot as this “wins ugly”!
Great tool for gardening. It makes planting so much easier.
it came quite loose, i have to put another nail, the one it came with, was to big
Happy with the product as mentioned very sturdy and would recommend.
very good tool strong and easy to use highly recomended
For me it’s easier to use for weeding and planting.
Love this tool chops away at the soil digs out weeds levels the boarders as you work across them my soil is clay with grit and compost mixed in hard work with a trowel
As the weather has not been good haven’t had chance to use this hoe yet however I am pleased with its sturdiness and the size -not too big, good value for money
I love that this hoe is so versatile. It uproots dandelions and dock plants, it beheads brambles and brushwood and it cuts back weeds amongst shrubs. The weight of the hoe makes it easy to use without too much effort and the handle is really sturdy. This is such a perfect hand tool for a medium sized garden!!
Is the best garden tool to have . Very easy to use mad the work easier. will be useful for may jobs round the garden big love it .
Really useful tool for weeding and digging borders. Sturdy and ligh
This is the best garden tool i have ever bought it is strong ,sharp ,well balanced and easy to use worth every penny of the very good price
Really wish I’d found this years ago. It has been worth it’s weight in gold hewing out a long steep set of steps up bank.
I have to admit that when this tool arrived I was not expecting much due to the almost not existent weight of the package. I also have to admit that I didn’t read the dimensions correctly and consequently expecting a larger implement. However, I am really pleased with this ‘happy accident’. It is a remarkably versatile tool that makes short work of pernicious ivy roots, it is great at scratching out rough ground, scraping out planting drills and probably many other tasks I have yet to come across. It is very lightweight but seems able to take rough work in its stride. In short, this is a useful tool that deserves a place in the tool-shed, and despite the price it appears to be well made.
A very handy and sturdy tool to work/dig with in the garden.
I have health issues and this been a real enabler when gardening.
Waist height surfaces or on ground level are more approachable as I struggle with too much digging or with swinging a mattock.
My only negative comment is the rubber grip dose work lose but im not troubled by this.
Overall, a very handy tool at a reasonable price.
Don’t know how long this will last, but at the moment it’s a great little garden tool. I’m renovating my garden and I can hack into tough bits and slice through roots with it. Very solid.
Nicely surprised by this tool. Good weight and feels good in the hand. Great for planting bulbs and smaller plants in the borders, weeding and rootling around. I can see this thing becoming a constant companion. On the downside its not a well finished item. I chose to sand down the handle and apply some beeswax
Excellent for digging a trench for a electrical cable was surprised at how strong and study it was whilst I was digging clay like soil!
Rough and tough. Not a good locking tool but robust and excellent for proper hard work. Head is solid iron !
