Only had it a few weeks, but it’s very sturdy, easy to build and great for doing at-home spin classes. Would recommend!
Bike is good value for money. Very sturdy and pretty simple to build. Took approx 30 mins in all. Delivery took approx 10 days which was the only downside. Would recommend as a solid addition to anyone wanting to exercise at home
I bought this bike nearly 2 years ago, and then once my son had a go on it, managed to break the resistance dial in some way. It was stuck on hard and wouldn’t shift. I was out of warranty, but I contacted the seller via Amazon. Their responses were super quick and very helpful. I got a replacement part (12) which arrived in a matter of days. I could figure out how to fit it so I messaged the seller again and I was sent instruction videos within minutes! Top notch service!!
A quality built exercise bike that’s excellent value for money. Easy to assemble and the bike itself. easy to operate. We had to buy a new seat as my wife wasn’t comfortable with the one supplied. But that’s a personal choice. I would highly recommend
Arrived with a JLL treadmill I ordered, well packaged, quick delivery and easy to assemble, I am happy I bought it as the heavy flywheel was what I wanted and I had difficulty locating what I wanted, I only have two observations, seat bolts once locked have moved so take care to tighten the seat to the stem with some force, the second being the bars, not perfect for my training position but some stub bar mounts did the trick so overall very happy
An amazing piece of equipment. Very easy to build watched video and put together in less than 20mins. Easily moved into position although heavy to lift moving was piece of cake. Very stable when riding able to stand and push without bike wobbling. Very quiet when fly wheel moves Very impressed.
I ordered this bike when it was on special offer for 289.99 – a really amazing price for what is a pretty good quality bike. It was delievered within 2 days from ordering and was delivered straight in to the room where I needed it. Unfortunately, the packaging was damaged quite a bit and I noticed a small bit of damage to the bike itself once assembled too. Luckily it wasn’t that bad and won’t impact the ride.
The bike is really easy to put together. I didn’t use the paper instructions, just watched the YouTube instructional video and paused it whenever I needed to – very easy to follow.
The 20kg flywheel and magnetic resistance is great. You can really crank the resistance up and it feels super sturdy. You can stand up for those hill climbs and it feels very stable.
However, the screen is terrible, there’s no Bluetooth and it isn’t backlit so you can’t see it at all while cycling. I’m going to have to buy some speed & cadence sensors so that I can get some stats on my phone instead.
Another issue is that the adjustment available for the handlebars is terrible. They don’t rise up high enough for me. I’m 6ft2 and my saddle is higher than the handlebars. I’m not as flexible as I could be right now so it does get a bit uncomfortable by the end of an hour on the bike. You also can’t adjust the handlebar distance which is frustrating. Something to keep in mind if you’re tall.
I’ve only used the bike twice so far with Les Mills RPM classes and overall it has been fantastic and I hope it will long be a reliable bike.
I would absolutely recommend this bike (it’s definitely one of the best you can get around this price point), but taller people may wish to go to a fitness store to try a few different bikes before ordering.
Seems alright so far after 1 week, The handlebar post wobbled, JLL sent me out a replacement.
I’m disappointed that at this price range it doesn’t have built-in BT/ANT+ sensors for cadence and speed for those of us using fitness watches. I’m not going to let that affect the review though, I knew the spec when I picked it up.
The adjustments are plentiful and allow me to ride comfortably, being 6′ 2″, it’s not easy to find exercise equipment that is suitable for tall folk.
The bike is very quiet, I was surprised, but coming from 50 exercise bikes and turbo trainers – it has been a delight.
The magnetic resistance seems to work adequately, you screw the resistance knob and it moves the magnet closer, but never actually touching the flywheel. This doubles as the emergency brake, you push the resistance handle down and it basically applies maximum resistance magnetically and never physically touches the flywheel so it doesn’t slow down very fast compared to a friction operated resistance – I guess a benefit of having magnetic over friction is that there’s no parts to swap out when the resistance pad wears out.
Seems a sturdy enough bike and I’m sure I’ll get a lot of use out of it. The big bugbear is the monitor. It’s like something from the 90’s. Really poor graphical display. No backlight and I haven’t found a way of getting it to stop cycling (no pun intended) between the various readings i.e. if I want to have RPM as the primary display, it just doesn’t stay there, it switches between RPM and speed, which is really annoying.
I know that it’s a budget spinning bike, but really, how much can a decent Chinese sourced monitor cost these days? Can’t be more than a couple of quid surely. I think I might invest in a wahoo cadence sensor and see how that goes, along with my polar chest strap and app.
Really pleased with this spin bike. We put a lot of Research into this before purchase.
Its really sturdy and quiet. I use it as 5am and everyone stays asleep.
Once you find a good spin work out video that works for you it’s amazing. I would definitely recommend
The bike came in good time. It took a little while to assemble but nothing too difficult. Needed the online video to help as the instructions included weren’t the best tbh. But the video is great.
The bike itself is nice and heavy and sturdy.
The magnetic resistance feels good and better than the traditional pad on wheel resistance. Worth noting that you can’t quite recreate the same extreme resistance with the magnetic system as the pad on wheel systems, but it’s certainly enough for me and for my other half.
Overall really pleased with this.
Bike overall is OK – clicking noise can come from pedal. We removed the plastic covering which solved the problem.
Sturdy, quiet, handles wobble if extended but ok. Display not bright but good enough. Seat too hard for beginner though even with gel cover, had to get another one. Would recommend
The first bike I had delivered via Amazon was damaged on the flywheel. After the contacting JLL direct they were able to organise an exchange. Courier delivered a new bike and took the original away. ( done under warranty). I found the customer service to be efficient and helpful.
Ive used the bike a couple of times and I’m happy with my purchase.
We got our JLL bike in March, and use nearly every day. At first, it was perfect, but it quickly began to show premature signs of wear and tear. After about three months, the crank becomes very noisy, clicking and scraping and generally being very loud and distracting. I reached out to JLL who very quickly offered to send me a completely new bike despite me being able to fix the noise. The bike arrived within just a few days.
When the new bike arrived, it worked much better and the issues I had before with the amount of resistance were not present. My guess is the first bike had some minor defects that caused the problems. I still would prefer a chain to a rubber belt, but for the price, the bike is very serviceable and fits our needs. In any case, I’ve seen some YouTube videos of people complaining about the JLL customer service, but I have to say they have gone above and beyond to fix my issues.
Got this bike back in Feb after reviewing many many other bikes! I was new to spinning so didn’t want to jump right into a Peloton. Also a lot of bikes were out of stock, including this one! Anyways I took the plunge and put in an order. The delivery came earlier than expected which was the first bonus, then it was really easy to set up, and felt good quality. Really solid construction and flywheel. It’s been great! I love it! And am now a spinning convert! I use it with the peloton app is apple fitness and I can’t recommend it highly enough!
Not looking to upgrade to peloton any time soon , this is perfect!
Was easy to assemble, just watch the YouTube guide (took 10 minutes not including the unpacking!)
Sturdy and stable, great for spinning sessions. Only had it a couple of weeks, but we’ve had a JLL cross trainer for around 4 years now, that machine has had at least weekly use since and not a single problem, so expecting similar durability from the ic300 pro bike. It is a bit more than I wanted to pay originally, but glad I went the extra, as there’s nothing to grumble about. Yes it’s heavy, but that adds to the sturdiness and durability, as long as you don’t have to move it to far, then thoroughly recommended. Don’t expect too much from the provided monitor/heart rate sensor, but if you’re going to be following a spin class online and wearing a smart watch, it’s pointless anyway 🙂
Seat broke on the second day but a universal any brand replacement was only 10. It’s fairly sturdy except the handlebars wobble a bit when you are up on them, but that happens with a lot of spin bikes. The fly wheel is good and heavy, I would say a bit heavier than most gym spin bikes I have been on. It’s good, but not amazing. Was very easy to put together!
I have loved this product and agree with the positive comments of fellow reviewers in relation to the quality of the bike with regards to build and comfort. After 3 months of use I suddenly started to get noise from the crank. It has not stopped the bike from working but its noisy and distracting and I didn’t want to risk it getting worse. I contacted JLL through Amazon and the response has been swift and thorough. I was advised on what to check and closer inspection shows that the right pedal arm is now slightly out of true. I am way below the 130 KG weight limit for the bike but I am still of a considerable frame so I am not sure what has happened but my main point is that JLL are sending me a new bike and will collect the original one without any quibble whatsoever. So for me, five stars for customer service and I will upgrade the bike from 4 to 5 stars once I have the new one up and running for a couple of months without incident! Michael, N Yorkshire
***Update*** new bike arrived within five days of raising the issue.
Love this bike! Assembly was moderate – not super easy but not so difficult I couldn’t manage. A little fiddly but overall achievable for most people I would guess. There’s a few bits to assemble and given the cost of the bike you don’t want to mess it up. The bike is about 60% assembled already, all that you need to do is screw in the handle bars, saddle, pedals and bottom frame. Read the instructions carefully and take each step slowly. Absolute care and attention is needed when screwing in the pedals. This is pretty important! There’s a handy YouTube tutorial. Don’t be put off by the work required, as long as you are careful it’s absolutely worthwhile.
For the first few uses I was very mindful of checking bolts were tight ie saddle, bottom of frame, pedals. There was a couple of bolts that required re tightening and a few squeaks when in use but I’ve used it now about 4 times a week for about 2 months and no issues. It’s sturdy, feels well made, runs smoothly, nice heavy fly wheel and a great form of exercise. Lots of spin classes on YouTube. It’s relatively easy to manoeuvre too should you need to move it. It’s the best decision I’ve made fitness wise. Only extra I would buy is padded cycling shorts and a phone holder for taking part in online spin classes.
Only criticism I have is there is no place to put a water bottle! There’s a water bottle holder included but where it goes i have no idea! Great bike though.
I couldn’t be more pleased with this exercise bike. I knew it was a good one after dragging it across the floor (thankfully it didn’t need to go up any stairs) and taking it out of the box – the flywheel is so heavy! That means the bike is very secure, doesn’t wobble in the slightest which is reassuring. I did find that the nuts and bolts securing the seat need to be super tight, first of all the seat fell forward which was a bit of a surprise but everything is fine now. I bought a cheap iPad holder which I attached to the bracket in front of the handlebars. Using the many free workouts and cycling courses online my bike now resembles a well-known brand which costs about six times as much!
Great bike to work out at home with.
Easy to self install when it came, straight to get to your fitment for size. Really comfortable bike to use, no saddle sores so far. Heart rates accurate to a Garmin forerunner 45 watch. Displays pretty clear to read mid ride.
I’ve added the Garmin speed 2 and cadence 2 sensors too it in order to turn it into a “smart” bike although they need some calibration.
Had few pedal issues at first with them coming loose mid class but fine now few months in. Personally the magnetic resistance could be stronger as can still pedal at max strength but towards end of a spin class it’s rarely that full. Just don’t use it much at lower end of the light use.
Only scored manoeuvrability lower as its not the easiest to get onto its wheels however we rarely need to move it with its location in the house.
This bike is really easy to assemble, just follow the your tube instructions and make sure you have a spanner as the tools provided don’t tighten the pedals well enough to safely use.
It has a very similar spec to the other bikes advertised on the t.v but because it doesn’t come with a screen I a quarter of the price.
It comes with set up instructions too so you can make sure it works for your height etc.
The first bike I received had a fault with it but after contacting jll they were so helpful, giving me suggestions of how it might be fixed and when this didn’t work I sent a video to them of the noise and they arranged collection and delivery of a new bike that week.
I can’t fault the customer service I had and would recommend this bike to anyone who wants to get into spinning
I decided an exercise bike would be a great way to get moving more, especially during the colder months when it is difficult to get outside for those quarantine walks!
After a lot of research on bikes that were sturdy, strong, similar as possible to the bikes in the gym, and wouldn’t break the bank, I went for the JLL IC300 Pro. It had good reviews everywhere, and I can see why. I wasn’t interested in spending a fortune on a bike with its own app (no thank you Peloton/Echelon!) I just needed something that you could exercise on at leisure, as well as for the occasional Spin classes with your tablet/phone nearby. You can do that with this bike without all the confusion and added cost of an app!
It’s strong, the monitor tells you everything you need it to (heart rate, distance, calories, etc.), and it looks good. I regularly used the bikes at the gym, and this is pretty close to it. It was easy and quick to put together too. Highly recommended for those looking for another way to exercise more without the hefty cost of a gym-brand bike.
If we had known we’d use the bike as much as we have then we’d have bought something a bit more expensive but, as it is, this bike is completely fine. The positioning was a bit uncomfortable at first but have got used to it. I do sometimes wish we had a bit more support on the seat positioning – we have it as close as we can to the handlebars so I just hope it stays strong going forwards!
The pedals seem to click a bit but you get used to it. Again, I hope its just the bike!
Only downside to this bike is the saddle which is so incredibly uncomfortable. I was riding with a gel seat (had to buy separately), padded shorts and a cushion! The cushion has now been removed thankfully.
Really very impressed with my lC300 pro, firstly it arrived nearly three weeks earlier than expected which was fantastic, the delivery company were extremely helpful and efficient and kept me updated with the timings right up to the actual delivery .
The lC300 comes partially assembled but finished of myself with the help of really good instructions and the toolkit that came with it in 20 minutes
The bike itself is of very good quality and as good as any that l have used in various health clubs.
The operation is really smooth and totally silent which is great if you want to do a workout and watch a spin training session on tv or watch a movie !!!
I am a very happy customer and wouldn’t hesitate in recommending this exercise bike
Positives.
Easy to assemble. Comfortable riding position with easy to adjust seat and handle bar positions. The bike is sturdy enough to allow for a good workout.
Negatives.
There is not quite enough resistance at the top end. The heart rate monitor is not accurate
As a first timer buyer of an exercise bike it was a little daunting wading through the endless choices, but after researching a wide number of similar bikes I decided on the JLL IC300 Pro. The reviews were good the YouTube videos looked amazing and the price was great. JLL and their couriers communications were excellent letting me know where my bike was and when it would arrive, I got a call one hour before delivery just to let me know and the bike arrived as promised. Assembly went without a hitch (I used my own tools as the spanner that arrived looked a little flimsy) but all in all I was happy. The only thing left to do now was the hard work of getting myself on it and putting some sessions in. It has been nearly three months now and I am still happy. I exercise 3 – 4 times a week, the bike is very stable, very quiet and I am convinced I made the right choice. I found it helpful when reading reviews knowing the height and weight of the person leaving feedback so – I am 5′ 6″ and weigh 11 st 8 lbs.
I bought this to keep active during lockdown. Running was out of the question due to an ankle injury.
Easily burn over 600 calories in 45 minutes on this by following along with YouTube spin class videos.
Could be better if it had a phone holder.
The screen is quite small and not great.
The max resistance wasn’t enough for me. I could still pedal quite comfortably with the dial turned all the way up. Managed to remedy this by adding 2 small neodymium magnets so no big deal.
The handle bars are quite horizontal so it’s really awkward to use the heart rate monitors while seated. Would have been better to have a slight tilt up.
Overall, I’d day it was a good purchase though.
I purchased this as a replacement of a cheaper spin bike and it has been great. I am unlikely to return to the gym after lockdown as this bike allows me to do a spin class at home. It is also good for a leisurely bike ride without the unpredictable British weather.
I had a slight issue with a pedal, but JLL have been great and reissued a new pedal as soon as I contacted them.
I would definitely recommend this piece of kit to anyone looking to purchase a spin bike. It is worth the price as an investment piece of gym equipment.
Excellent quality spin bike and very sturdy. Simple to put together with good instructions, but also a very useful YouTube video that really helps.
I have used it a lot during lockdown and have found it to be very smooth with great levels of resistance range. I bought this as it had a heavy 20kg flywheel rather than some of the other bikes where it’s a lot lighter.
The only negative I would say is that it’s not a “connected” bike and the monitor isn’t the best, but at this price point it’s not unusual. But this is easily resolved by adding a cadance sensor (around 30) on the crank arm and a tablet holder (less than 15) to mount your tablet on the handle bars. I use this with the Peloton App and it works great. You can also use it for Zwift.
Was delivered on time, contacted by driver, assembly was quick and easy, only thing is as have the seat up high due to set up do find that as the post is not fully in does have a wobble, so think could do with a longer post, also keeping an eye on a squeak that some times comes from the pedal crank, then has been used by wife and me every day since delivered.
Bike is good and somewhat appropriately priced. Workmanship is not appropriate to the price of the bike though. Sticker on the flywheel started coming off in the box and I removed it as it’s just making unnecessary noise. The display is totally inaccurate and useless. Pulse sensors not working at all and I end up using a wrist watch to see what my pulse is. Will see how long it lasts and will stay positive
This is an excellent exercise bike. Only downside is the display monitor is in your face when you use the outside handlebars and it’s not clear to read when you are in the sit up position, but they are only minor issues I had so overall it’s a winner.
I bought the bike after a lot of research into different spin bikes, I needed a spin bike with a heavy flywheel and a belt drive, and this was the best of both for the price, it’s a shame the price increased by over 100 since the pandemic, but it was still worth it. I almost cancelled my order since there were some bad reviews claiming a clunky sound or squeaky pedals, I never experienced either, the bike is silent.
The bike took about 1.5-2 hours to assemble and was easy following the youtube guide rather than the manual, the trickiest bit was the handlebar and monitor stand assembly, but relatively it was easy and and a single person job, the bike was heavy to get out of the box but maybe would require some people to need 2 people for that aspect to get everything out and the bike in the desired location.
The delivery was handled by ArrowXL who placed the bike in my house in my desired location, they were on time and friendly, shortly after the bike was dispatched I was given an option to book a date for delivery that suited me, there were no delays in delivery and the date was never pushed back to a later date.
I attached two tablet stands to the horns of the bike, one for a tablet and one for my phone, I also bought a cadence sensor to attach to the crank. So far I’ve only done youtube spin classes and listening to audible while riding, I highly recommend a spin class on Youtube and then probably Peloton classes later as they do definitely work you out harder than if you were on your own.
The bike has a monitor and heartrate, but the heatrate is quite low in terms of BPM, but I have a smartwatch with a heartrate tracker so it’s not needed, but it’s a good thing to have in case you don’t. Also the bike monitor does show RPM and MPH although I would prefer if there were two seperate sections for both as they switch between the two and I’m not sure if it can be changed as only cadence is necessary for Peloton, that’s why I bought a cadence sensor.
I also bought a chest heart rate strap, this can connect to the Wahoo app alongside the cadence sensor showing you vital stats on which heart rate zones you are currently in, I find it very useful and the sensors can connect to the Peloton app, although I’ve found I prefer youtube classes which are free.
Additionally I read that the resistance wasn’t high enough and you will outgrow the bike, I disagree, I’ve got strong legs and used to squat and leg press heavily and use a spin bike in the gym and I’m certain that the resistance of the bike is strong enough, especially in conjunction with spin classes.
If any faults develop I will edit this review with an update, although from Trustpilot I’ve seen some people get replacement parts multiple years after warranty. Overral I highly recommend this bike and I hope it lasts a long time for me, and works for you.
Thought I’d wait a month before reviewing so that I could give the JLL IC300 PRO a decent amount of use.
The delivery was on time, as described, and rhe delivery guys were really helpful. We were kept fully informed through that whole process.
Firstly the assembly is totally straightforward if you view the video that is mentioned in the manual. Looking at said manual, (without watching the youtube video) due to the diagrammatic layout you feel like you’re missing loads of parts but they’re already installed onto the bike on arrival.
The parts that aren’t attached on arrival are really easy to install onto the bike and it only took about 10 minutes to set up completely.
The JLL IC300 PRO feels really sturdy when being ridden or moved, it really doesn’t feel cheaply made despite being a competitive price.
The resistance levels are suitable for all abilities including Spin Instructor level, of which my wife is and she rates the bike, and is serving me really well with heart rate training and maximal output training for an Ironman.
Only drawback is the siting of the console. When adopting a more ‘aero’ position on the bike it is a little in the way and the display is difficult to see from above it when crouched over.
This is just a minor thing and probably not an issue for most users, who in reality are not likely to be in an ‘aero’ position when riding.
We’re really happy with the bike and it has served us brilliantly so far, can’t recommend it enough.
Thank you JLL
The product is easy to put together. I’ve had an issue with the bike however that means it has to be replaced – the company have been great about this and I always think this is the test of a good company. They have answered emails within 24 hours and have been very helpful first with suggestions to try and solve the fault and then to happily agreeing to send a replacement and pick up the existing bike very promptly when those suggestions didn’t work
Bike delivery was good & efficient (technically 2 days late – but no real drama). Other reviews talk about being on time or even early.
Having read the previous reviews, I did have slight concern about the complexity of the assembly for the bike.
In fact, despite some fairly easy instructions and the offer of the video – it was quick and easy to put together. Packaging for the product was really good. I did the assembly on my own, but would have been easier with another person. Set aside 30 mins max to get this done.
Very early days – seat is a bit hard, but the operation of the bike is good. Very smooth and feels very sturdy. Adjustment options are also good.
Overall – very pleased with the bike. Obviously, time will tell on how well it lasts.
Really good silent sturdy bike, easy to move with the 2 wheels on the floor when tilted, the only issue I have is the monitor that comes with the bike and this is why I haven’t given 5 stars, the monitor is like it was made in the 80s, it is small and has no back light so makes it difficult to see and read. For the price of the bike I would expect something more modern.
Great bike. Easy to build as there is a YouTube video as well if needed. Silent when using which is great for others in the house. I had to pre book it two months in advance as the lock down was in full swing. It’s a shame the price has shot up so much but that’s life unfortunately.
This is a superb bike, I ride on the road and MTB so this is great for easy training and I’m not spending 2k and 40 a month on Peleton etc. This is all you’ll ever need along with free classes on YouTube. If you are motivated you will use it, if not you’ve only spent 400.
Bought this to combat the lockdown belly and because WFH will be a permanent arrangement in a new job, so I wanted something to be able to hop onto at lunchtime. Putting it together was easy enough and I was pleasantly surprised by how quiet it is. Feels sturdy enough…a tiny weeny bit of play on the handlebar stem, but I think a small cardboard shim might help that. Monitor is useful (although in miles, no option for km, but no big deal as I tend to go by time). Overall seems to be a decent home bike.
There was a bit of confusion with stated delivery dates, stock levels and updates given to me. I was prepared to wait as am fully aware of the issues of Brexit, Covid and adverse weather, but would have preferred to have been given more timely updates so that I knew how to rearrange my week and knew what was going on.
Only setup bike and had a small test run. But very quiet and sturdy. Good size, was impressed with the resistance and can definitely see myself getting a great workout on this. Can’t wait to have my first full ride. Only reason I have given it a 4 star is thy I haven’t had a full test run yet and as others mentioned the screen is a little dark to read but I have Apple Watch so I go off that anyway. Great choice and great price in my opinion when compared to other bikes. Seat comfortable if you are used to spin classes which I am. Came with water bottle. Overall very pleased.
While looking a bit intimidating coming out of the box, it was soon clear that it was only in a few major pieces and very simple to slot together. The only assembly issue I had was that the screw threads were no good on the water bottle holder (don’t really care about this).
On my first test of the bike I was very impressed at how quiet it is. You could easily use this bike at high speed without anyone else in your house knowing about it. The peddles are a bit on the small side for my size-8 feet and I have to use them up-side-down as I can only get the very end of my toes in the keepers.
The next thing I tried was to see how well the computer calculates Calorie usage. I got up to a certain RPM on minimum resistance, watching how fast the calories were counting up, and then increased to almost maximum at the same RPM. The calories appeared to be counting up at exactly the same rate even though I was using much more energy to turn the pedals, so I don’t trust the Calorie meter at-all.
The adjustments all seem to work ok, but I don’t seem to be able to find any settings which allow me to comfortably keep my hands on the pulse detection electrodes (I’m 5’11”). I also find that when I do stretch my arms and hold on to them for a while, the pulse meter rarely shows my true pulse. I can be going flat-out and it still reads 74bpm half the time which, given how unfit I currently am, is just impossible 😀
Moving the bike around before and after use is a bit of a back-breaker, and you need to tip it a fair way before the wheels touch the floor, but I guess that’s what comes with a nice, heavy flywheel and very sturdy frame.
On the whole, I’m very happy with this bike, and would recommend it to anyone who is committed to long-term use.
Loved the bike except the seat – after 2 kids and 24 stitches it is like sitting on a razor blade – bike brilliant except for this but defo gonna need a gel saddle cover or a different seat – can’t use it for m oh re than 5 mins as is
Hi this review is after 2 days of ownership.
The item came well boxed, and ahead of schedule.
It is 49kgs, so in excess of 100 lbs so quite a lift for one person.
Having slit the sellotape to open the lid, it was easy to turn upside down and lift off the box and unpack the bike. This method resulted with the bike being upside down which was ideal for bolting the two lower mounting frames with integral feet.
The assembly of the bike was very intuitive with no reference to the assembly instructions required, however a cross check of assembly with instructions was carried out after completion. There is care required mounting pedals and an awareness of different threads for each pedal. So BE AWARE! The tool kit supplied is adequate, however 2 x 13mm & 1 x 10mm ring spanner’s recommended.
Once this smart looking bike was assembled and on its feet, it was then a question of adjusting the seat to a desired tilt (Personal Preference) then set the seat height and handle bars height, easily done with the adjusting knobs.
You can adjust the seat forwards and backwards and the handle bars up & down only.
I carried out a lot of market research. The Peleton and Atom bikes are seriously good equipment but at a premium price. Circa 2500 plus a monthly subscription around 40
You want a bike with a heavy flywheel, 20kg or heavier. This provides momentum when pedalling and mimics a road bike experience much better.
The JLL IC300 PRO did not disappoint. I have done two 45 minute sessions, using the computer to count down the 45 minutes. The tension control is by turning a knob and is infinitely adjustable, the resistance being increased by strong magnets. It works very well, but you do not have specific levels numerically as on many gym bikes.
However I found it very easy to adjust to increase/decrease effort and get a good work out. I also have set up the TV to watch You Tube where there are various work outs available or exercise music etc.
This bike does not give an interactive experience, however there are Apps out there like Kino Maps, if that’s your thing. This bike is I think the best quality for 400 out there. Smooth silent transmission, great magnetic resistance.
The Emergency brake on mine does not appear to work. I am querying that. But not a deal breaker, I don’t anticipate requiring it. The screen displays, time, calories, rpm, distance, speed and pulse. ( However it is not back lit so difficult to see)
I’ve had the bike just over a month now. After searching the Internet reading many reviews I settled on the JLL 300, mainly because it was belt driven and had a heavier fly wheel than many others.
Assembly- instructions came with it along with a you tube video, the pedals, seat and handle bars require assembly. It is definitely a two man job particularly when it came to the handle bars – the guy made it look so easy on the video – it wasn’t. Pedal’s were an issue for me too you had to ensure they were aligned properly to avoid cross threading unfortunately I cross threaded them. i reached out to the customer service who were very helpful and provided a replacement pedal in a few days.
I now have a fully functioning bike which I use 5 times a week. It is pretty much silent when riding due to it being belt driven. I would say it is as good as the ones at the gym, I highly recommend this product.
Great bike at a good price much cheaper then a pelaton bike and so have subscribed to the les mills app to support classes. My only issue with is that I would like there to be a greater margin on adjusting the tension when increasing the tension on the bike to make up hill cycles more difficult. Came sooner then expected. For the price a good buy
I bought this bike and it was delivered around 7 months ago to use while gyms are being opened and closed every few months with covid.
The cost of the bike was slightly more reasonable than it is now (I’m guessing demand has pushed this up) but I was and still am extremely happy with the product. A 20kg flywheel is a must if you want to be able to push yourself during exercise. The bike is comfortable and quiet, everything you could want for an at home piece of exercise equipment. I pair the bike with the on-demand Peloton app (about 12/month) which allows me access to great spin classes without paying insane prices for a Peloton.. so I do feel like this bike has been put to good use. We use it about 4 times a week.
In the 7 months we have had 2 incidents where we needed to speak with customer service and I must say they are exemplary. They have sent out a new part when needed and talked us through a minor repair over the phone. No hassle and extremely helpful, very important when you are preparing to spend a lot of money.
I bought this bike as I wanted a sturdy spin bike to do Peloton workouts on but not pay the 1700+ for the bike and then the monthly fee as well.
There are only a couple of minor things wrong with this bike which I bought for less than 400
1 – the seat is really uncomfortable after 20 min but was easily replaced for 20
2 – it would be nice to know what resistance setting the wheel is at but for 400 it’s not the end of the world as after a while you get used to the levels on it
3 – a little more seat/handle adjustment would be great
Benefits of the bike
1 – it’s really easy to set up, there is a you tube video which I followed which helps
2 – after a couple of issues in my first few rides (both pedals fell off due to not being on tight enough) the bike is really sturdy and after 30+ hours on it so far I have not issues since
3 – the seat was really easy to change, I may change the pedals over to SPD ones at some point but I have the option to do that if I choose to do so
4 – the screen is very clear and I’ve had no problems with it so far but I only use it for the distance as I use a Wahoo Cadence sensor for the peloton rides through an app in my phone
5 – delivery was great as well, living near Birmingham JLL delivered it themselves and the driver was great
6 – the bike is very quiet and I cannot hear it when doing a workout
7 – the money I’ve saved buying this bike gives me a LOT more to spend on setting up my garage gym
It arrived before time, and was easy to set up – though there was a few of us – but instructions and images good.
We have teenagers and adults and it was suitable for all (5’5-6’1).
Its very sturdy and resistance is good enough for us to add exercise into our day.
Haven’t really used the monitor much as we use apple watches to monitor HR and timings.
Seat is a bit uncomfortable- will probably invest in a seat cover.
It has wheels on the front to move it, but its heavy to move about much, we just move it out from the wall to use.
Its very quiet and the rider, or other person in room can easily watch tv etc..
Very pleased !
50 rides in today and the bike is rock solid. No undue noises, vibrations or looseness whatsoever. Using with bluetooth wahoo cadence and moofit HR sensors to link to the pelaton app. I have fitted Shimano SPD pedals to use our existing cycling shoes, no issues in doing this, and it sits on a mat. The bike is excellent for this purpose. Slight complaint about the handle bars being horizontal and the built in screen is slightly intrusive to my iPad pro which I have used a mount to fix to the middle of the handlebars, but it’s a minor complaint and certainly at the price point a very acceptable drawback.
Adjusted most days between my 5’2 wife and myself at 6’1, very easy to adjust and suits us both.
If you are looking for a good value bike this is worth considering. Only other complaint is the lack of a weights mount, and the bottle holder is very low and a bit of a stretch of you are tall, but again very minor issues.
Been using it a few times a week. Overall it’s a great bike. I’m 6’4″ and have managed to get a setup that’s right for me.
The only negatives I have about it are:
1. The display isn’t great and is missing a backlight. The button cover also came back off the display quite quickly so had to re-stick it on with glue
2. Something within the mechanism makes a knocking noise on every rotation of the right pedal. It doesn’t affect the overall spin of the wheel, but is loud enough to be frustrating without headphones on.
Only sturdiness is lower – I’m an 86kg individual and the bike holds me perfectly, no problems. Only thing that’s a bit unsteady is the handlebars as they jiggle a bit on the tallest setting – this isn’t a problem for the rest of the levels.
The computer isn’t explained in the manual, so I have no idea how to work it. But that doesn’t take away from how good the bike itself is! Just make sure to ask someone how to work it, I haven’t contacted the seller yet, but have been using the bike frequently and honestly, the way I feel on the bike is a good enough indicator of how many calories I’m burning for now!
But otherwise it’s awesome! I enjoy this bike more than the ones at the gym, especially because of the heavier flywheel.
The seat is comfortable, so you don’t really need the gel seat that other reviews talk about. I would say the handlebars could use some padding though, but it’s not necessary.
This is not a bike suitable for tall people though, as even on its highest setting for the handlebars and the correct setting for my height (5 ft 4) for the seat, it is a little uncomfortable because you have to lean forward a lot. If you’re heavy for your height like me, this might make you have trouble staying with your back straight. But with practice, it gets easier. This can be a problem no matter what bike you’re on, depending on your weight and how you’re used to having your posture.
Definitely recommend this bike! I am not a seasoned real-biker (I fall off a lot, so I’ve given up haha), but I am a long-time spin fan, so I’ve used many bikes before and I definitely recommend this one, if you’re looking more for a good workout without measuring your calories and distance and all that.
Product arrived last Saturday (much sooner than original 21-23 Dec).
Relatively easy to put together. Had a 20 min ride – very smooth but has a faulty left peddle (making a weird clunking noise every rotation). I contacted JLL, on Monday they said they’d replace the peddle and the new one arrived this morning. Everything is perfect now!
The bike is great for me as I normally jog but have this on going calf injury that keep re-curing. No such issues with the bike. My wife and kids have also been enjoying it. It’s quite compact (so doesn’t take up loads of space) but quite sturdy.
I was quite surprised that it doesn’t need plugging in, we had a bike years ago from John Lewis that was a big bulky thing that had to be plugged in. The small console is basic but adequate and is battery driven. The ride is smooth – not quite sure how the magnetic resistance system works without power (must be just permanent magnets?) but anyway the resistance is adequate for us.
With our former bike we used to be able to set a range of programs for hills etc so that the resistance changed automatically. This bike doesn’t have that, you have to manually adjust the resistance. For me this isn’t an issue as I set the resistance and keep it the same for 30 mins and that is me done.
I do some time off the saddle, feels sturdy enough to do so and I’m 13 st 5.
All in all a great buy and customer service that is excellent.
Good spin bike and good price. Very good customer service. After a month the belt drive did start to squeak a bit but when I contacted JLL they were very helpful and gave good advice and instructions to rectify the problem, they also offered to send a replacement bike if the problem continued. We didn’t need to do this as the problem stopped following customer services advice.
We are really happy with the spin bike and use it regularly.
Liked build quality, easy to adjust resistance very controllable!
Saddle not great but you get used to it or buy a foam cover which helps a lot! Toe straps and pedals could be better.
Good range of heights catered for 5’1″ to 6′.
Display shows all key info but could be better lit or some readings made bigger .
Overall I would buy again!
Arrived earlier than estimated so that was brilliant after being let down by a different company. Pretty straightforward to assemble, really smooth action and silent, very pleased. Only downside is just a niggle, the stickers look like they were stuck on by a three year old, crooked and creased and the ones on the wheels don’t stick, keep peeling off but not a major fault just cosmetic
Just received it after a few weeks delay due to stock availability (likely C19 induced), but they contacted me and gave me 10% discount which was really good. Arrived with plenty of notice so I knew when they would drop it off.
Took about 45 mins of assembly, could have been faster but that included getting rid of the little bits of styrofoam stuck all over it from the packaging! I thought it was missing some screws for the drinks holder until I realised they were already in the side of the chassis and I just had to remove them first. Additional tip – use the updated manual which is available on the website. The paper printed copy isn’t as good and doesn’t offer as much clarity. It is quite heavy so can be tricky to manoeuvre around the house if you are slight of build, so be warned!
When I first tested it, it had a strange thudding sound near the pedal, where the drive belt was. I called customer service (got through second time as they were busy) and they told me I would have to dismantle the casing to check. Wasn’t quite happy about this but they assured me it wouldn’t void warranty, and credit to the build, it was just a bunch of easily accessible screws. Once the plastic casing was off and I could see the drive belt, I couldn’t see anything out of sorts, and testing the pedals didn’t make any noises, so after I put the casing back, the noise had vanished. Not sure what it was in the end but the bike has been very quiet since!
Not had a proper go on it yet as I have a cold, but can confirm it feels as sturdy as a spin-bike from the gym, although the little electronic hud attached to it doesn’t seem particularly intuitive to use (and I have read some reviews that it isn’t entirely accurate either) .
Overall however, I don’t really need the meter to measure my performance, the bike is good, and has plenty of resistance on it, and I can ride backwards also to work different muscle groups so happy with the purchase!
This was easy to set up. It is heavy which means it is sturdy (The 20KG flywheel adds a chunk of weight). The variable set ups allow me and my wife to use the bike. It is fairly easy to move into position when going to be used. We have added a phone holder to the handle bars to allow easier listening to music while training. We also use an iPad to stream Les Mills workouts such as Trip and RPM. The only down side really is that the hardest resistance is reached quite quickly so the range from easy to hard is quite narrow. That said I can easily get a varied workout and I can safely stand for hill climb tracks as there is enough resistance to do that.
Let’s take the bad news first. If you are buying this bike in the hope that the monitor can accurately track the speed and calories you’ve burned you will be disappointed. The bike does not track the gear you’re on nor the watts you produce. The speed, calories and distance traveled is therefore, from what I can understand, based purely upon your RPMs – making these figures highly inaccurate. The heart rate sensors also seem incapable of picking up any pulse that is over 100 – in my 3 rides so far I’ve seen it get to 102 as the highest ever when I was actually at around 150-160. As the sensors are metal with ever so slightly sharp edges, it might be better to consider a bike without these to improve comfort. If you, like me, purchased this bike due to it having better display you can save yourself the money – the only useful measurements is the timer and RPM counter.
Now onto the more important part, the bike. It is very sturdy, weighing in at about 50 kg. It can be easily moved around by the wheels at the front however (simply tip it forward using the handle bars). The assembly instructions are very detailed. Whilst most of the complicated parts are already put together, making it easy to assemble the remaining. The instructions also details the parts that are already assembled, in case you need to take them apart in the future. The ride is silky smooth and whisper quiet. The resistance is strong enough that I can’t do stand up cycling on the highest gear for too long. Some prime athletes might find the highest gear isn’t heavy enough for intense short intervals, but they will not be the majority.
All in all, it is a very good bike – I’m simply a bit disappointed in the monitor as I was lead to believe it would be more accurate from the marketing on the page.
We have had the bike a few weeks now and it seems good enough for the money spent (I must add that we had a 100 amazon voucher as well).
Buying a spin bike at this price point must come with a large amount of expectation management. It will not be anywhere near the quality of spin bikes in gyms or those that are 6 times the cost.
It took a couple of sessions to get used to the different levels of resistance, which for the most part can be split into light, moderate and heavy.
Upon delivery we replaced the saddle and pedals to use clip in shoes.
I am hopeful that it will continue to work well. I’m predicting a couple of the parts might need to be greased/WD40’d to maintain it in the couple months.
Overall happy with the purchase.
Th bike is fine. Only 4 starts because i just got it and can’t tell how long it will last. All good so far after 3 days.
I like the horns. I can put my kindle on them and read while I ride.
– You need 2 people to asemble because it is heavy – 50kg! Heavy means sturdy. So all good.
– You need to get a soft seat cover or tour bump wil get sore after 5 min.
Re noise: It does make a slight sound but much less that a fraction bike. It is a nice sond actually. A bit like a real bike on the concrete.
Re hard setting not hard enought: Some people comented that the hardest setting ia not hard enought – bollocks! I was sweating on the medium and I am fit: I did cycle to work 40 min every day before corona, one way up hill.
Attractive bike largely meet requirements. Not overly expensive but no substitute for high end bike.
Would like increased resistance and handle bars to be able to be raised higher. Seat a little hard!
Minor shakes when cycling but sturdy enough . Probably one of the best cheap bikes, the led is poor, but bike combines to online classes.
Same comments most people commented o
I bought this bike never owning one before and was a bit aprehensive when buying but i shouldnt have been.
The bike is fantastic, it feels very well built and when im using it nobody from any of the other rooms in the house is disturbed by me which is great as im doing an early 6:00 workout on it every other day with no complaints from anyone.
The only downside is the resistance knob, theres no numbering system to easily change the resistance, i would like to able to be riding and then change the resistance to a specific amount and then back again etc but the way this is designed this is not possible i have to just guess by slowly turning the knob and waiting for it to feel right wich wastes time. Bit dissapointed in this as its marketed as a Pro version. – also noticed that the heart rate monitor is useless but as I use my watch it’s not a big deal for me
Honestly, I am beyond overjoyed with my bike so far. I received it well within the expected delivery dates and set up was a breeze. The only stressful thing encountered whilst setting up was a bit of complicated images in the manual as I always lay out all the parts in front of me before beginning any assembly to make sure I received everything I was meant to. This was a bit confusing because the manual broke down ALL parts including those already put together in the bike upon arrival, so as long as you don’t get confused by that, it is extremely straightforward.
In terms of using the bike, again, it’s been amazing. Honestly, it’s really reminded me of the spin bikes I used to use when I was actually going into a professional gym pre-covid19 which is what I wanted. I am about 5ft6 and need to have the seat at the 2nd lowest tier so if you are someone under 5ft4 then MAYBE you may have some issues with the seat height. The bike is very stable and when jogging/standing positions, it barely rocks from side to side with my bodyweight so I highly recommend it if you do more intense spin classes at home. Also, because the flywheel is quite heavy, it does require a lot of power so I may not recommend it as strongly for those who may be less used to cycling (either outside or on stationary bikes) but it is also not too difficult and still includes much higher infinite resistance to be added on if you, like me, like your climbing tracks heavy!
As for the cons, the bike seat (as mentioned in quite a few comments for basically ALL spin bikes) is a bit painful because it’s quite hard. I do feel a bit of bruising on my butt the day after doing a session so I intend to buy a gel cover for this and this might be something you also want to keep in mind. The bike seat also loosens a bit after each use as well so it just requires a bit more paying attention to and re-tightening the screws after a couple uses.
Aside from this, I highly recommend this bike for anyone with a lower-middle budget for a bike, particularly those into spin classes and higher intensity workouts!
I’ve been doing spin for almost 10 years, and like many people, don’t want to risk going to the gym when there are so many online classes such as Les Mills, and bikes are affordable. I decided to buy this bike as a compromise between price and quality and I’ve had it for almost 2 months now. It’s had a lot of use in this time as I’ve been using it 3 times a week, and my adult children have used it a fair bit too.
Overall I’m happy, as it’s a fairly good bike for the money, but it doesn’t get 5 stars. Here are my thoughts:
– It was relatively easy to assemble, which was a pleasant surprise.
– It looks and feels like a proper spin bike, and feels safe and sturdy.
– The wheels spin link a normal spin bike. No problem standing up, and/or hovering.
– It’s adjustable, although people with short arms / torso might find the horizontal seat adjustment a bit limited. (It is fine for me, as I’m long-limbed and 5foot9)
– The handlebars wobble a lot more than a gym bike. I contacted the vendor and sent a video, but he said it was normal. It doesn’t feel unsafe, but it’s a bit annoying.
– The hardest setting is not particularly hard, which is a bit disappointing, but it’s good enough for my needs. I just peddle harder when doing a ‘hill’
– The break doesn’t seem to work when I push down on it.
– Be sure to keep tightening the bolts as they do come loose, just as gym bikes do.
Verdict is that it’s fine, but not as good as the bikes at my gym. On the other hand, it’s a lot cheaper than a gym spin bike.
Hope that helps!
Recently cancelled my gym membership and signed up to les mills on demand, lots of people recommended this bike but I was reluctant to purchase as I saw the price increase from 280 to 370 after lockdown which really annoyed me. Finally I took the plunge after realising the price wasn’t coming down and I’ve been missing my spin classes.
Bike was easy to set up after watching you tube video. Feels a lot Like my bike at the gym but with a few small compromises; handle bar wobbles a lot but it doesn’t bother me to much when exercising. The pedals aren’t great but then I replaced them anyway with SPD pedals for my cleats. The computer / display isn’t great but then I knew that From the other reviews on here and I don’t use it anyway. Other than that it’s a great bike, the bike stickers look like they had been thrown on my a child so I ended up taking them off! Otherwise the delivery service was excellent and I’m soooooo glad I made this purchase and back to doing classes again, feels amazing!!
Easy to assemble and works as advertised. Bike is very sturdy and can be used in a standing position. The seat is very uncomfortable and the display is hard to read. The display buttons are stuck on badly and the stickers on the bike peal off after one use. As budget bikes go this one is good and worth the investment. The resistance is very good
I researched exercise bike a lot and this one seemed to me to strike the best balance between price and features. I wanted a decent flywheel as its required for a proper spin workout and this one certainly delivers. The resistance is great and I was feeling the burn really quickly. The fact that its a magnetic resistance system means the machine is really quiet as well.
The bike was really well packaged and assembly was straight forward using the linked YouTube video. My only minor complaint is the supplied workout monitor isn’t great, I find the screen quite hard to read in certain light and the heart rate always seems to read 72 when I try it. This isn’t a big deal for me as I have a tablet connected to the bike as well and planned to but a heart rate monitor anyway.
Overall this is a sturdy bike that can provide an intense workout and I would highly recommend it.
This bike is as solid as anything on the market including much more expensive models. The LCD computer seems to be accurate and is easy to operate although could maybe do with a backlight. It was easy enough to assemble and the instructions are very easy to follow. All the parts are packaged in such a way as to help with that process.
The only thing stopping me giving 5 stars is that the toe strap on the right pedal rubs against the crank arm each time it is rotated which makes a noise which is a little irritating given how amazingly silent the rest of the moving parts are.
I’m not much of a one for writing reviews but thought it was worth doing on this..
I spent ages looking at spin bikes, I wanted something quiet that would give me a good workout without a massive price tag.
This bike fits the bill it’s whisper quiet and I can train without the person in the next room hearing me.
I’ve been teaching spin classes for over 10 years and this bike gives me a really good workout. It’s not studio quality but not far off it! The resistance goes up to a high level the only complaint it’s a bit laggy in that you turn it up and it takes a few seconds to take effect.
Overall it’s a well built robust bike that gives really good value for money.
I’m glad I bought it!
I did a lot of research into which spin bike to get. Obviously if I had a spare 2k I’d be ordering a pelaton bike but I don’t so went for what I think is the good compromise.
Communication from JLL was great. They responded quickly when I had not yet received my tracking number. Arrow XL delivered it on time. The bike is very easy to assemble. It took 2 of us to carry it upstairs before putting it together.
The bike itself is really sturdy. Watching the JLL team do a 60 second pedal competition (see you tube) offered me the reassurance I needed to order this bike. The seat is comfortable , Though the back is slightly raised as someone did mention in another review. The flywheel is heavy and you can really crank up the resistance. Hill climbs are solid, no movement from the bike. The wheel has a quiet swirling sound but nothing bad. Handlebars could do with being tipped upwards but even as they are I find the bike comfortable and very similar to the many spin bikes I have used in the gym.
So I’ve bought a stand to attach my phone too. I’m currently using a pelaton digital free trail , I’ve done other you tube classes and , using my Apple Watch, it’s clear that I burn more calories using pelaton digital so I’ll be subscribing to a 12.99 membership.
As I use my Apple Watch whenever I exercise. it is the watch that I trust when it comes to stats. The bike computer is no good really. I’ll have a heart rate of 148 on my watch but the bike computer will say 70. RPM doesn’t stay on the screen , it’s swaps with speed I think. I’m not even sure if it’s at all accurate. I’ll probably get a wahoo cadence to help with workouts.
Pedal straps don’t stay tight. I’ll probably get some pedals to clip into as I’m used to that on my road bike.
overall I’m really happy. The bike cost 328 , the price seems to be creeping up now but even for 379 it’s a good price.
I’ve bought a noise reduction floor mat just to protect my floorboard. Floor fan is a must… as is some loud music! Enjoy!
Update may 2021. After absolutely hammering this bike since purchase last august it had recently started making a really annoying and loud squeak when in use. It was impossible to figure out where the noise was coming from so after having it pulled apart and checked over, I approached JLL to get some advice. They asked that I checked the bearings etc which I did and surprisingly after so much use they were still fine. JLL agreed to replace my bike and a few days later mine was collected and a brand new one delivered. Excellent customer service. Since receiving my new one there are a few wobbles on the seat post etc and JLL have immediately responded and are sending me a new post out. Really pleased.
Decent bike and has been effective for my at home training. It has also encouraged the family to exercise so definitely a win. If you purchase you need to assemble carefully as one of the peddle arms was not screwed in properly and therefore after a some use moved and left the whole peddle out of line. This happened after 2 weeks of purchase. I now have a free replacement arm and peddle, so I’ll see how it goes (not a problem getting from the company, they were very helpful). No problems as yet. Another thing and this is a big one, try to buy heavier weight than 20kg as your fitness increases you will need space to go up levels. I am already using the full turn. I would have returned and bought heavier if my children were not using th bike. It’s definitely a sturdy bike.
Assembly – 5 stars
As a self-confessed cack-hand, who found the monitor battery compartment a challenge to open, the bike was surprisingly easy to assemble. The official JLL YouTube video is excellent. The only difficulty I had was fitting the handlebars to the post. A problem I easily remedied by removing the post from the bike and attaching the handlebars to it on the floor. The post and handlebars were easy to then slot into place.
Bike performance – 4 stars
The bike feels very sturdy, is easily adapted to different shapes and sizes, and offers a good demanding ride. The magnetic resistance will give a challenging cardio workout for most users, although powerful riders looking to strength-train may find the magnets insufficiently strong to “burn those quads”. Nevertheless, for the price this is an excellent bike that will suit the vast majority of users. It exceeded my expectations. As a right-handed person, I had to smile at the pleasure ‘lefties’ will no doubt have when they discover the water bottle is stored on the left side.
JLL monitor – 3 stars
The monitor is easy to set up and works automatically when pedalling. Although the numbers are clear, the function descriptions are difficult to read (although easily memorised). How accurate measurements such as calories are, is somewhat dubious. By way of example, I checked my passport and discovered that I am not Bradley Wiggins. I sadly concluded the pulse rate monitor does not work properly.
Value for money – 5 stars
Outstanding product for the price paid.
Summary – 4 stars
This is an excellent bike, especially for the money. It will suit the vast majority of users.
The service was amazing, as the bike arrived a week before the expected time. The bike itself has many plusses as it is easy to assemble. It is easy to adjust the resistance to fit your fitness level. The bike has a smooth ride. Despite the many great features of the bike, the seat is just so uncomfortable that I had to resort to purchasing a new saddle.
We bought this anticipating needing it in lockdown and if the weather’s bad we use it a lot. It is heavy so I can’t move it but my husband and 16 year old son can. We have it in a small spare room downstairs but often bring it in to the lounge to cycle in front of the tv in the evening. All the features such as heart rate and distance cycled, calories burned are really simple to use. The seat is a bit hard so I put a small cushion on top of it, this could be improved! I might eventually buy a different seat. I also wish it had is a place to clip your phone into, my son cycles watching videos and either has to position the bike in front of the windowsill or hold his phone, I’ll have to look into buying some sort of clip but at this price that could be supplied with the bike I feel.
Sturdy bike quiet in operation. I have two issues with it
1. Regarding the pressure put on the wheel there is no gauge of how much it is.
2. The measuring of your pulse is not brilliant it’s a bit hit and miss.
Regarding assembly and locating it.
The delivery driver dropped it off at my gate it is 34 metres to the house and it weighs 48 Kgs. That helps to make it sturdy but I needed to take it out of the box to move it and as the main bike has the flywheel weighing 20kgs it is quite a task.
I did a bit of research before buying this bike and it went for it as it was mentioned a couple of times in some top bike reviews. I’m glad I went for this one. It was super easy to put together (on my own) as theres a you tube video to watch. It comes with all the tools you’ll need to put it together.
It runs super smooth and quiet too. good resistance. I have bought SPD pedals so I can use my spin shoes – its just a shame that these are not included with the bike.
my only slightly negative (but it is very small) comment would be that the lettering on the monitor is very small and I had to squint to see what all the numbers were! And it does seem to say i’ve burnt more calories than the bikes at the gym, but I’ll take that!!
All in all, I’m very pleased with it and its really great for the price.
Especially for the price this bike is great and fits exactly what i need it to do during the lock down times. It was easy to assemble (we just followed the recommended you tube tutorial) i’ve been using it for around 2 weeks now and it seems pretty sturdy. The only thing that has snapped off is the reflectors on the pedal, where i think my trainers have hit. But this is a minor issue as it is for indoor use only. Fully recommend!!
Purchased this Exercise Bike because this price was right and reviews good. Slight delay getting the Bike but once arrived it was easy to assemble all be you had to be careful with weight. Better/Safer with two persons but i managed on my own. The instructions are clear and precise and if needed there is always YouTube. I have now used the bike several times now since purchase and overall I am very pleased with purchase. There is however one concern and thats to do with the STOP button. I was concerned that when pressed the flywheel did not seem to slow noticeably and with the dial fully turned clockwise i.e. maximum resistance it could not be pressed at all. I have had several emails with JLL expressing my concern thinking there was a fault with the bike. There is not and I agree this is the way the bike is designed. It works on magnets(3) being lowered towards the metal flywheel unlike pressure pad bikes i have been used to in the past. I feel the mimimum gap of 0.5cm could be reduced to make the STOP more effective. This is a good exercise bike just be careful if you have the need to stop.
Firstly this is easy to put together. It comes well packaged. The instructions for putting it together are okay but the YouTube video is very good.
The bike is very sturdy and better than I expected for the money. It’s easy to set up although the computer takes some understanding and the computer manual is poor.
Getting on the bike and riding for the first time makes you realise how good the 300 Pro is. It’s very smooth and the resistance adjustment very good. I can’t pedal it at the hardest setting. As other people have said the heart rate monitor is rubbish and I have to agree. It started off at 90 and at the end of my ride when I was out of breath read 72!
Compared with the bikes at the Gym it is a similar ride. The only disappointment is the quality of the computer.
I wanted to use the bike a few times before writing this review. I currently use this with the peloton app and wahoo cadence sensor, works a treat (you eventually get used to gauging resistance numbers).
The bike was easy to put together and I had no problem doing it myself. It is generally sturdy – the handle has some wiggle and I had to re-tighten the saddle. Having a 20kg wheel is great and being belt driven with magnetic, the bike is very quiet.
There have been some comments on the top resistance. Being magnetic, the top end is not as high as a pad one would be but it does still give out a fair resistance which would take someone strong legged to maintain for a long period of time. Note that you can actually adjust the magnet, instructions are on their website. Open the front, two Allen keys on either side of magnetic and there is room to drop a little to increase the top resistance.
Overall a good purchase and solid bike which takes a regular beating from me.
I ordered this in January 2019 and assembled fairly easily following the instructions provided. After 10 months a banging sound began during pedaling so I requested help from the seller. After following their advice it became apparent that something was wrong with the crank. Initially the response via Amazon marketplace request for a replacement or repair was denied. But several phone calls later the seller sent a replacement and collected the initial item. So far (fingers crossed) the replacement is working fine. It is a good indoor exercise bike and provides an option with the outdoors are too wet/windy/snowy to ride my normal mountain bike.
Preliminary review as I have only just taken delivery.
Customer Services no complaints, when I questioned delivery dates I had an email within hours telling me delivery details.
Yesterday I had a phone call confirming today’s delivery.
Delivered within time frame, courteous and helpful.
As for unpacking and assembly, I had viewed the instructions on youtube previously so I had a good idea what I was doing beforehand.Following same instructions had me up and running within the hour. That includes unpacking.
(I shall get the various bolts etc checked tomorrow to ensure they are tight enough as I have arthritis in my thumb)
However the process was easy.I unpacked and assembled it on my own, without any trouble.
The bike itself is smooth and silent.I shall use it tomorrow for a proper workout.
I am delighted at the relatively small space that it takes up, I currently have it in my sun room.
So far I am very happy with the Bike and Company
So far, so very good. Really good looking indoor bike, easy to assemble and so far works really well. Of course, the proof of its quality will become more apparent in six months time but the first few rides have been very good. The bike is solidly made, comfortable and very quiet. The monitor looks a little dated in its appearance but covers all the key stats. you need.
My only slight grumbles are that there could be more seat height positions as the height option slots are just either side of a perfect seat height for me and that the pedals do not have a “clip” option on the other side of the pedals.
I recommend anyone to view the online video on YouTube while assembling the bike – it really helped. I also recommend that, after your first ride, you go around all the bolts one more time to tighten them just to ensure they haven’t come loose and check that after every few rides.
Overall great value for money
Not that I write many reviews, but this deserved it as it exceeded my expectations. The quick version is:
* It was well Packed, which always tells me the suppler values its own product.
* Fairly minimal parts to put together.
* Instructions look complicated at first glance bit aren’t and make complete sense. Read them properly first is the key.
* Parts fit well and are greased where required.
* Very solid and sturdy, also looks good.
* Extremely smooth to ride, magnet resistance is very good, first time for me.
* Heavy to lift if you need to but easy to manage due to wheels at front.
* Fully adjustable to cater from myself at 6′ 3″ to my 10 year old daughter. Remember you’re settings of which there are only a few to make it ideal for all of us.
Down side is you have to peddle it yourself using leg power and energy.
Really good would endorse, JLL very helpful also.
Very pleased with this purchase. Although perhaps more expensive than many static exercise bikes it is worth the extra because it delivers in virtually every respect if you are looking to create a home gym. It was packaged well, easy to assemble and although heavy it can be moved using the front two rollers. Operation is smooth and quiet. The resistance can be adjusted easily and the slight lag in resistance breaking is perfectly acceptable. The screen provides the standard information on your ride, but I would say the pulse monitor set into the handle bars is rather inaccurate. Not a problem since you can monitor your heart rate much more accurately with a chest strap or even a wrist strap. Adjustment for riding position is pretty good and easily changed if it is to be used by more than one person. If you are an experienced road cyclist you may find the saddle adjustment is not as exact as you would like, but it is unlikely that you are going to be riding on this machine continuously for the hours that you would on a single training ride on the road. Thoroughly recommended.
I wanted to wait a little while before posting a review as I wanted to test the bike out properly. It’s now been 7 months, and I couldn’t be happier with my purchase! The bike isn’t perfect but it is perfect for me. I’m certainly no pro spinner but I can hold my own in a 45 minute spin class. I find that I get a great workout, burn plenty of calories, and have increased my stamina and my fitness using the JLL IC300 PRO over the past half-year.
I find it comfortable (with the original seat, which yes was a bit wobbly at one point but easily tightened with standard tools), and sturdy. I regularly put it through it’s paces – using Les Mills on Demand RPM, Sprint and Trip classes (another great investment) which involve plenty of standing, sitting and changing gears. For me together they provide the perfect alternative to heading to the gym, and mean I end up working out more regularly.
I agree with others that the handlebars feel a little wobbly, the HR sensors and monitor aren’t the best (although I rely on my FitBit for that) and I have noticed a little squeak of late (probably need to oil something somewhere!) but for the price, and the convenience of having it at home, this more than does the job.
One thing I did change was the pedals, as I much prefer spinning with cleats. With thanks to reviewers on here I found the perfect-fitting Shimano PDM520 pedals which we easy to sub in, along with a nice pair of Muddy Fox cycle shoes. The orginal pedals were fine but, personally, I feel I get a better workout and feel more stable clipped in and got used to spinning with cleats at the gym.
Overall, I’m really happy with the bike. It does exactly what I need it to do so I can keep up my fitness. It doesn’t take much space in my small living room and is easy to manoeuvre when I want to take it out to use. For the price, it delivers great value for money and I would definitely recommend (along with Les Mills On Demand!)
A great bike!! I am so pleased I settled on this.
Installation – Youbdefinatley need two people to put this together, one person to press pause on the You Tube installation tutorial as you put it together!! Do not use the instructions, the You Tube Tutorial was excellent, enabling the bike to be ready for some action after 20 minutes!!
The bike is great, does exactly what a spin bike should. It is quiet so does not disturb anyone else whilst you are pedalling away. The computer is good and allows you to set targets be it distance or the amount of calories you wish to burn on your workout.
The saddle however is loose, will need to be replaced at some point but that really is the only down point.
I love this bike already and can see it will remain a good workout piece of equipment for quite some time.
At this price point I would be very surprised if this product could be beaten. I’d advise binning the batteries provided and using standard branded ones as this substantially improves the screen clarity. Slightly annoying that the rpm shares a display box with another reading and therefor intermittently blinks between the two every 5sec or so (maybe I can adjust this in the settings but not found out how to yet). I’m 6’4″ and the wife is 5’4″ and the settings fit us both with room to spare in the seat although I’d prefer the handlebars to go a touch higher but its still perfectly usable and comfortable for myself. We use this with Peloton digital app (can’t afford the 2000+ peloton bike) but this bike is perfectly usable with their cycle sessions, just requires a couple of free weights for when required. Power output isn’t provided but not necessary to follow sessions. Packaging generally okay but heavy flywheel although well supported in position, could do with being wrapped in padded material as slightly marked. seat can be tightened very securely but requires the use of a proper spanner as tool provided wears away quickly and becomes unusable. On high adjustment settings there is very slight wobble, I don’t notice when riding but could apply small wedge if necessary. Although focusing on the minor improvement points I am overall a Very happy customer, good weight and riding experience, stable, rpm reading and clear display hard to find at this price point, magnetic resistance provides good range and maintenance free operation, its also almost silent in use. I’m a powerful 17stone and there is more than enough resistance to get out of saddle and work hard. Yes the product could be slightly improved but it would then cost a lot more.
Ok so this does exactly what it says on the tin. I regularly cycle for 2-3 hours and the workout on here is punishing. 20-30 minutes and I have had enough. (harder to make yourself push when you can see sofa right in front of you :))
The wheel is heavy and even on the lowest setting of resistance it requires effort. Turning up the wheel will get you to the point where you can barely move the thing.
Overall very pleased with this and I do recommend – however couple cautionary points – I’m 6ft and the seat sizing is at maximum. Anyone much bigger than this might find it not to their liking. Additionally if at the max setting (indicated by stop marker in the bars) makes the handlebars feel a little wobbly. Not major issue but just concerned about durability here with greater stress over time.
And finally the seat – yup its a bit rubbish. Put it on very tightly to start and it still tipped up after couple uses. Went back and tightened beyond thread point and now not moving – but seat is as mentioned by others a bit hard and sharp so probably will replace at some point.
Very good bit of kit – I’ve only had a month so if I remember I’ll update any changes to my review in a few months
Update after 6 months:
So at one point I discovered the resistance wheel had stuck on a higher setting after giving it a solid whack.. afterwards the lower setting utterly effortless.. lol.. so anyway – good for all levels
secondly had issues with pedal.. customer service sorted straight away even though they technically didn’t have to. Can’t fault them or the bike – so upping to 5 stars. Great bit of ki
All in all, this is a decent exercise bike, provides good value for money but there are a few things that could be better…and having lived with the bike and used it many times over the previous 5 or so months, a few wee things have come to light…
The instructions for building the bike are reasonably straight forward and logical (having a youtube video available to help is very useful) although some of the steps are obscured, such as the cabling for the monitor…as a result quite a bit of trial and error is needed to work out where the cable should be threaded…and if the cable is not in the correct place it will rub against the fly-wheel impacting upon the resistance setting and messing up the recorded speed. The instructions for the monitor are lacking, needing much trial and error, as well as a bit of luck to get it working as you want it.
The frame is very solid, with a narrow profile and thin mounting for the seat so no rubbing against your thighs when cycling. The handlebar mount wobbles a little bit so needs to be wedged in place, regardless of how tight the adjustable bolts are tightened. Over time, the wobbling on the handlebar mount has got worse, going from mildly irritating to a bit of a pain, but not enough to stop using the bike.
The 20kg flywheel provides quite a lot of resistance, meaning that you can go from a leisurely ride to a hard spin or a blast up a hill very quickly and it’s a great work-out for every level of fitness. The fly-wheel occasionally makes squeaking noises, and you have to be careful where the cable for the display is as it can rub against the wheel.
There is a good range of seat heights and positions, meaning that it can be used by lots of different people, although the handlebars do not go up that much and forces the rider into an aerodynamic position and for taller users the seat is higher than the handlebars….if you’re doing some longer rides this can lead to some mild back-pain until you get flexible enough and used to the position.
The heart-rate monitor is not working very well on my machine, as it never gets above 90, which sadly doesn’t mean I am incredibly fit, rather than it’s just not working properly!
The anti-slip nodules on the pedals are quite sharp and pointy, meaning that even when in the toe-clips there is very little movement of your feet…this is great most of the time, except when doing a prolonged standing ride (unless the sole of your shoe is very hard or thick) this can become painful, almost like having small rocks in your shoe!
Overall, a good spinning bike, it takes a bit of time to set up as you want it, plus a few other minor issues but given the solidity, ease of use and range of exercise options and the price, the positives outweigh the negatives.
Over the last 5 months there has been no reason to downgrade the * rating, despite the squeaks, wobbles and slightly dodgy heart-rate monito
The video was clear and it was straightforward to set the bike up, it took me about an hour as I was being careful.
I found that when securing the saddle really tight, which is necessary as it started to slip on first use, the spanner provided was not a perfect fit with the nuts so started to slip. I switched to my own tools and got another full 360 turn which made the saddle secure.
I also noted that many other reviewers complained the saddle was uncomfortable. I ride with padded cycle shorts and thought it was fine.
This is a personal thing, but I ride with SPD clip pedals so bought a pair and switched them with the pedals provided pretty much straight away. I did try the ones provided first, which were OK but are toe cage fit. By switching the pedals myy assessment of the bike went from ‘OK but a bit sloppy and rocky’ to ‘this is pretty close to what I use in a spinning class’.
So far I haven’t found the HR monitor to be at all accurate, but that may be the way I’m holding the sensors
Generally I’m impressed, the bike is on some gym mats in my garage, I’m 90 kilos and 5’10 and have been riding hard for 5 years, and apart frim the max resistance being slightly less than I’d like for really hard out of saddle hill climbing, so far this is a close match to the bikes I’ve been used to in gym spin classes.
After years at the gym using star trac spin bikes, I wanted to get something similar for home, but for a limited budget.
I did lots of research into refurbished ex-gym bikes and new bikes, and this one seemed to tick most of the boxes, in particular it has magnetic resistance which I preferred due to potentially lower noise and a lower wear and tear.
It was delivered quickly in one large heavy box, and was quite straight forward to assemble. The instructions included were pretty clear, but I chose to assemble it step by step from the assembly video which is on youtube – for me this made it even easier.
Once set up the bike is very quiet (I saw one review saying it made a noise – which gave me concern, but mine is whisper quiet) and does the job very well. It is very sturdy and the computer display shows all relevant data such as heart beat, calories, speed, distance etc.
My only criticism would be that the heart rate sensors are only in the reclined riding position, and are not as ergonomic as I would like so not as comfortable as the bikes in the gym. However I still give this product 5 stars, as although not perfect, it still does the job and delivers a lot for this price point.
This is a great spin bike for the home – highly recommended.
I am 165cm, 65kg user (it is important, because probably 120kg user could have slightly different opinion).
After reading moans about weakness of resistance and shaky handle bars I was close to choose same price bike with friction resistance, but considering neighbours and probability of noise I have decided to risk. And it was such a good choice.
Good points:
1. It is so smooth. I can compare it with magnetic resistance JLL bike for 72 pounds and the diffrence is massive)
2. Very good resistance. At the highest point I barely can moove pedals even standing on them. But as I said I am 165cm/65kg. When someone with 120kg will stand on it, it will deffinitely make the difference.
3. Strong construction. Compared to 72 pounds JLL bike the quality is much much better.
But I can understand in this price there will be some cuts in some points, so here are some acceptable neutral points.
1. My partner feels totally fine with the seat and does not need any gel pad, but for me it is a bit too hard. I plan to buy padded gel pants, it should fix the problem. I should add here that still this seat is more comfortable than I have in a normal trecking bike.
2. Bars, specially handle bar is gently shaky. But tighten it up really strongly fixed the problem. And I must add that I had to set up the handle for the STOP point, so really extreme position. The more you go down, the more tightly it sits.
3. Metal plate with monitor require pushing down to see anything. Overall it would be good to have a bit light there to see more clearly, but still you can live with it as it is and it does the job.
So far I have not found any unacceptable bad points, so overall I am giving 5 stars, because the price to quality ratio is very good and the points which are acceptable can not be the reason to take the star off. Good job JLL.
A well made and well thought out exercise bike. Love the silence and the construction quality. The bike has been really useful in helping control my weight and the calorie deficit which I am looking to make into a norm.
The computer can be rather hard to read in some light conditions. It does store all of the previous exercise readings but (as far as I can tell) it appears to tally them only cumulatively; to the ones which are already gathered. Perhaps a similar computer but with led illumination would help this issue and possibly the option of a computer that can be used to generate exercise programs which have been designed by professionals.
Despite my comments about the computer, the bike is extremely well made and it was very easy to put together by following the very clear instructions. Be aware that the bike weights around 49 kilograms and you may find the assembly and moving into position is far easier to manage if you have a friend around to help.
Great value and very capable. I can recommend this bike highly if you want to exercise regularly, in silence, as far as the bike noise goes and get a great workout. It will save you money on gym fees and I find it so quite in use that I have been able to watch films and TV shows while exercising. This time is normally ‘dead’ time as far as exercise goes so I have found that the bike has actually freed me to do more exercise.
Excellent bike once it arrived. Heavy and sturdy. Easy to assemble. Use proper tools though. Handlebar adjusts for height but not angle. Now the bad part. The courier XDP. Never arrived on the day their tracker said it would. Even emailed their depot to be told twice that it would and it never arrived. Tracker updated next day to say delivery attempted and card left. No card left just an email. No one attempted delivery as i was in all day. Following a row with their despatch guy agreed a delivery day way past when i wanted it as they can’t give a time so I had to book another day off. Bike then arrived 3 days earlier at 7.30 am. Luckily I was in but just about to leave for work. Place your order and hope for the best!
Fantastic bike, does everything it says it will do and feels like a studio spinning bike! I am so pleased that I went with the 20k weighted wheel too. Easy to assemble as it is delivered part assembled with the other parts inside the box and tools to construct it. Took me about 45 minutes in total and the video on youtube was really helpful. JLL were brilliant with customer service when my bike delivery got caught up between Christmas and New Year. We got there in the end though thanks to Alana and Scarlett at JLL.
UPDATE: I had a few issues with the bike with the pedal and the crankshaft which meant that I did not get to put the bike fully together again until today, nearly 17 days after I first received the spin bike. However, hats off to the JLL customer service team for being such a support and working with me to resolve the issue which was related to the threading on the crank that meant when trying to screw the left pedal in that it misaligned. On receiving a new crank with the pedal fitted we then could not get the original crank off (and my mate is 6ft 2in and no wimp!). Eventually was sent a new base bike and reattached pedals which worked!! Clearly was an issue with the base of the bike. a HUGE thank you to JLL Sports. The bike is now fully erected and is fab! Just have the magnet to adjust and I am finally up and spinning! Am so pleased with the bike, worth the money and looks and feels better than the gym spin bike :-)….this combined with Les Mills on demand RPM classes and I am up and running!
Arrived this afternoon after one and a half days since ordering it. First impression was the packaging which one or maybe two reviewers were disappointed in, well I was very impressed with mine I am relieved to say. Was going to keep it in the garage but decided to try it first of all in the upstairs spare bedroom and if too noisy then go back to the garage idea. So all assembled in the bedroom (assembly just common sense) and all ready to go. Never been on an exercise bike before (although was always a keen cyclist) so I wasn’t too sure what to expect. Well both the wife and I were blown away, it’s a fabulous piece of equipment and so quiet it can’t be heard in the same room let alone down stairs. Had to bend the monitor bracket down a bit so I could see it (easy enough by hand while it is still on the bike) , did away with the toe clips (can’t see us needing them) and fitted a silicone saddle cover on the saddle to please the wife. I know it’s very early days but this bike is so smooth and solid I feel we will be happily riding this bike for many years to come.
This is a very good exercise bike. The crucial points are that; it is large and stable, it has a large flywheel ensuring a good natural momentum when cycling, it has adjustable magnetic resistance which is smooth and quiet, and it is belt driven so is free of maintenance. All of these points mean it is almost silent in operation and easy to use in our spare bedroom. Minus points: It comes in a very large and heavy package and there had been some minor damage in transit. Being so heavy meant that it was a difficult (two man) job getting the parts up the stairs. Assembly instructions were poor and I am usually quite good at that sort of thing. I never did find out how to attach the water bottle. The monitor is not easy to read. Overall I am pleased that I did not go for a cheaper model. I recommend it.
