Let me start by saying I’m pretty new to paddle boarding, but I guess if you’re reading this you probably are too!

This board is definitely more of an entry level price, but actually it’s really not a bad option.

My first thought when inflating this is that it’s definitely smaller than boards I have previously hired. At 10’6″ it’s classed as an all rounder, so a good option if you want a go anywhere SUP. But being a bit smaller has taken some getting used to – it doesn’t feel as sturdy and boat like as others I’ve used. On the plus side, it’s very light and easy to carry which I appreciated when clambering into the Thames!

The bag includes everything you need to get started (with the exception of a personal flotation device) – SUP, paddle, pump, leash, repair kit and waterproof phone case. I use the GoPaddling app to locate good places to go, it tells you about parking and accessibility/facilities. The bag itself is a little flimsy and kinda saggy – I thought once I had re-folded the board after first use it would fill it out but it really didn’t. I don’t think the bag will hold up to any serious trekking unfortunately, but the rest of the kit seems to be where the money has been spent. There’s a lot of plastic packaging inside the bag as well, which is a shame.

A manual pump is included but I highly recommend an electric pump or your arms will be worn out before you even start paddling! A small but very worthwhile investment.

In use, I found myself a little wobbly getting up, but once up the board felt quite quick and the large fin kept me tracking nicely, moving in a straight line quickly. I’ve read a lot about the benefits of different fin set ups and think the single fin will suit me fine for paddling on mainly flat water on rivers and lakes, but is probably not so good in the sea. I’m still trying to get to grips with the wake of the boats on the river let alone the sea!

The paddle is adjustable in length so adaptable for any user. I found it comfortable and I got good forward motion with minimal effort, even into the wind.

Overall the board and kit I would say is fairly minimal – it’s quite no frills but for an entry level, lightweight option I’ve been quite impressed, as has my friend who is much more experienced than me. Just need a bit more practice! It doesn’t have loads of handles and extras, but that makes it nice and easy to climb back on if you fall off, at least!

I’d say this is a reasonable SUP for someone who is beginner to intermediate, for fairly flat water, on a budget. Great to get you started!

    Great entry level SUP

My boy is going to be trying paddleboarding for the first time at an away weekend this summer so we thought this would be a good starter board for him to practice on. In summary it is a very good board and has lots of accessories.

We were all quite surprised by how big it is, but that’s probably down to our lack of experience. It comes bundled with everything you need to get going such as a sturdy floor standing hand pump, strong adjustable paddle, ankle tether, sturdy carry bag and even a waterproof pouch for your valuables, that’s a nice touch. There is a repair kit aswell with some patches and tools.

It didn’t take long to pump up and was very solid once done. The board itself is semi rigid so the air pumped in combines with that built in rigidity to give a very solid, stable surface. There is also a detachable fin for the underside if required.

We have only floated this at a local swimming pool and it felt really level on the water, it didn’t get away from you and felt just right for somebody trying this activity for the first Time.

Overall this is a great paddleboard which gives confidence to beginners and is well specified. It feels very well made also.

    Great for beginners

I won’t have a chance to use this until we go down to East Sussex later this month so I will update this review then. So far looks like an amazing kit.

This is a fantastic beginner board for someone like me. Having rented one a couple of times I’ve caught the bug and really love I own one of my own.

The board itself is lightweight and easy to store both in the garage and while out and about. The board and accessories can be stashed away in the backpack provided, meaning I can sling it over my shoulder if there’s a trek from the car park to the river.

Easy to assemble and use with a little bit of know how or failing that a video or two even if you’ve not given it a go before.

Quite affordable for a hobby at this price poi
