I primarily use these for light paining or on the one occasion when we had no power in the house, they are very bright torches and last a while. Not had to change the batteries yet, am looking to buy a rechargeable battery to replace the Duracell ones withi
This torch is fantastic and has a good range. I like it there are two beams. A wide and narrow. This is well worth buying and I’ve not found better for the price. Easy to use too!
As I am in my late 70s & have a severe visual impairment I’ve been finding it more and more difficult to see into dark spaces such as the back of a freezer drawer,a dark cupboard and even small items that have fallen onto the floor.Well no more now that I’ve discovered this little torch,it’s amazing & the brightness (particularly on full beam) is incredible.I feel It has made my life so much easier (and safer) & it is so light and can fit easily into a pocket.Have now bought 2 more as gifts for elderly friends.Just love it.
Use this whilst walking the dog in the forest. Good bright light, well priced and easily fits in pocket. Not sure how long batteries will last as only used a few times.
I bought this to help me see house numbers in the dark as I do deliveries. It is effective, and is certainly at least 3x bright and more concentrated than a phone torch. However, the zoom function is still a little bit too broad in my opinion. The zoom function slightly increases the brightness as light in concentrated in a smaller area.
Batteries for it aren’t common in household items although easy to find and buy. Has lasted me many hours so far and I hope that continues.
For the price, I would 100% buy it agai
This little torch is great quality, was very surprised how good it is for the price. The light reaches pretty far too and can be adjusted to big or small amounts of light by turning the end and pulling it in and out. Would recommend!
My daughter took this to her residential trip. Great torch and super easy to use. Not sure about the battery life as she only used it for 2 days but the batteries lasted her for the time she was there and still haven’t run out.
Small metal bodied torch, well made and sturdy Zoom fuction from Flood to Spot works well.Have dropped a couple of times onto concrete floor , no damage and still works perfectly. Have now bought a second to keep in the car!
These were honestly so good and so powerful I bought a second set for my dad. I’m keeping one in the car and one in the house. I bought them for my dad for dog walks. They’re impressively powerful, lightly weight and so cheap – especially considering the quality.
A solid sturdy torch with useful wide and narrow beam adjustment.
Son love it. Used it for a camping trip. Money worth spending.
I bought a larger one for my husband , and I didn’t know if this would work as good . I have to say it’s just as good and came with batteries.Very pleased.
Sadly my Son has recently destroyed my 6 year old torch which brings me here to order a second one and to my surprise they are still selling them.
Its a very bright torch with a decent sized beam when fully unfocused, Its extremely bright when focused in all the way and can reach a serious distance.
A very Neutral temperature light too keeping colour information as accurate as it would be in full sunlight.
Can’t speak for their current Modern Stock [Will update] but My Original Torch from 2017 has served me very well and was only destroyed by a mechanically curious 4 Year Old
Should’ve heard this the other day when I had a power cut I couldn’t see anything with totally black. Anyway, I’ve got it now for next one.
Ordered for my grandaughter for camp, small enough t pop in her very full rucksack, nice n bright when turned o
Simple On/Off Button – Much more useful than a button that cycles through useless modes
Lightweight – Considering the quality feel it is surprisingly lightweight
Decent Finish – The black anodise looks and feels good
Decent Quality Strap – Feel sturdy and useful
Why only 4 Stars? – The only reason for not giving it 5 Stars is because I don’t see the need for the ‘focus’ function
Would I buy it again? – Yes
being used for work fits in work bag , not heavy just right size/
Like that you can focus it or have a wider lit area.
Extremely bright. Perfect for finding those pesky dogs in the garde
The light is incredibly bright and long lasting ! Perfect for camping
Very bright for a compact torch and fits nicely in the hand/bag
Nice compact size for car. Good feature to have the zooming in/out. Haven’t tried yet so don’t know how long the batteries will last. Would buy again.
Nice little torches bright enough for everyday use. I like the fact that these are just off and on no SOS and flickering lights to cycle through before getting to the full beam. You can zoom in and out a little bit too easily by pushing/pulling the front to focus or widen the beam which may become loose with wear.
Purchased these for dog walking – thought having a couple would mean I could keep one in each coat pocket to avoid me forgetting them. Wasn’t expecting much from them but they are actually pretty good. Very bright and a handy size. Don’t expect any fancy features, they literally turn on and off (the zoom feature is useless), but for a couple of cheap torches they pack a punch and will come in handy!
I love this torch, so easy to carry and has a very powerful light. I am definitely advising my friends to buy it.
Bought this to use with our dogs in the garden at night as the light doesn’t reach all areas. Great little torch. Good bright beam and the ability to zoom the beam in to target a specific area is hand. Nice small size and batteries seem to be lasting well for its purpose. Recommend.
This is a great little torch for the money. I use it during the winter so that I can cut through the park on my commute to/from work. It’s lightweight and compact. It lives in my jacket pocket. And it’s really bright.
Received today , works fine and seems to offer great value /performance for just over the 8 that I paid. …..but It has the same on /off switch on the bottom end cap that countless other torch brands use and that seem to faii after a short period of time which many reviewers on here and on other brands have reported in their amazon reviews — so only time will tell if mine suffers the same fate. At least with this item the switch can be accessed to effect repair if it does start to play up , umlike some other brands where the switch is permanently sealed.
Fits well in the pocket and does a wonderful job. It’s bright enough to see very clearly what you focus it on.
Perfect for what I needed, to have a small torch available in case it’s needed in an emergency
Amazing! It’s brightness is really high quality and the zoom is really useful.
This is a small size touch but with a great bright light. Lightweight and easy to hold
Basic standard torch , lightweight, reliable and durable. You won’t do better at this price poi
Very pleased with this purchase. Fits the hand well and very bright.
I was surprised at how bright this torch was. For a tiny thing it lights up a whole room so I know it will light up a trekking path.
Handy little torch and this is the second one I have bought, as I lost the first one. Great to keep at your bedside, in a cupboard for a power outage or in the car for emergencies. Not as powerful as the LED Lenser I have, but well worth the money, lightweight and handy to store for those random emergencies.
Turn off and on at the base, light weight.it great you can put it in your bag, even put it in your pocket.it very bright great for night time
Bought it for a ghost hunt and think it was so bright it scared most of em away! At first it seemed fairly standard but it shows its worth at distance. Lit up the entire side of the building in the middle of the night. I was by far the most well-lit ghost hunter that nigh
Build quality is superb, full metal construction with a satisfying click switch at the tail. Comes with a lanyard and 3xAAA batteries.
The torch has a satisfying weighty feel to it, at 114g (with batteries installed) and fits fully in a jean pocket, although, it might be a little heavy for all day carrying.
The beam is visible indoors during the daytime, and I’m sure it’ll perform excellently at night. The focusing adds a little more power albite nothing spectacular and has the usual ‘LED’ squareness to the point.
Overall the bang for buck earns it 5 stars, I needed a torch to find my tent at the end of a festival night, and more than happy choosing this compared to the more expensive torches with more features I didn’t really need.
Small enough to fit in pockets and a power beyond its size. Ideal for dog walks or hunting through a dark attic
Very bright and easy to adjust light power, best torch I have ever bought, very highly recommended.
was a bit smaller than i was expecting but it has good brightness and is very handy
Packs a punch this little torch.really bright for such a small item. The zoom in and out features is also great. I bought 4 sets of these…they really are that good. 5*
It is perfect for to be used on my job this being the main reason I bought it for. It is very bright and the zoom can be used in many areas. All of my colleagues have ordered one after seeing it on work.
This torch may be small and lightweight, but the power of the light is brilliant. i can’t comment on the battery life as I haven’t had it that long.
well worth a purchase as really value for money.
would highly recommend
Easy to switch on and off stays on unlike some torches Will be useful in winter outside in the dark lanes Has a beam an all round light.Pleased I bought it as it will prove useful.A good buy.
I was looking at a handful of torches at this price point, the deciding factor was the on/off button – on and off with no unnecessary modes that I don’t need. That’s all I need from a torch and this does that perfectly.
It’s bright enough for my uses, I can’t comment on the battery life.
I will be buying another one to keep in the car.
Excellent as a food delivery driver this is excellent! The wide beam function for general use and the zoom function for nowrin down the beam to see house door numbers
Bought this as a silly Christmas gift for my dad (82). He loves it as uses it a lot. His fingers are a bit stiff at the moment, old age apparently does that, but he finds it really easy to use. I have no idea about the battery life apart for they haven’t run out yet four weeks after Christmas. Hope this helps someone
Small but powerful torch, useful for walking the dog when it’s dark. Fits easily in your hand and has a strap so you can put it around your wrist. Also fits easily into any pocket when you’re done with it.
On/off button is simple to use, it sits at the end of the torch and you literally just push it once to turn it on and then once again to turn it off.
Can’t speak for battery life because it’s a new purchase.
Arrived in good condition. Packaged well. I’m happy with this product.
Arrived promptly and well packaged. Am pleased with my purchase so far. Too soon to comment on battery life, but the beam and range is excellent. Easy to use and pocket sized, so handy to take out when walking the dog too. I hope it lasts longer than a previous torch (different make) I had that had the same operating button in the base.
I needed a small torch for dog walking – it is very suitable and I am happy with i
I have had this torch for 2yrs. replaced batteries a couple of times. torch used 4 nights a week to do checks around my truck and trailer ( hgv night driver) sometimes use to check items in trailer when delivering. All in all handy piece of kit fits in pocket dont know its there.
Nice little torch to put in my pocket when I go for a walk in case we are out after dark. We sometimes walk where there are no street lights and so a torch is important in avoiding kerbs, ditches, puddles and dog poop. This one is perfect being light and small while being bright enough to see our way.
Good enough for dog walking, fits easily in my pocket and the lanyard is secure. The throw of light isn’t that far, but does the job for 7 so I can’t complain.
The product itself is perfect for what I need.
The type of work I do means I do lots of walking carrying out inspections on electrical and mechanical equipment, I wanted to add a lightweight torch that fits within my pocket.
This torch does exactly that! It’s bright enough, and small enough to fit within my pocket so I have it available all the time.
The build of the product feels solid, so while yes its lightweight, no in a way that makes it feel cheap.
One huge plus is that this torch is so simple, many torches I see sold have all these extra settings, which are great when you pay more and get proper control, but on cheaper torches is absolutely useless when they use the one button design. This torch goes back to basics just switching on and off.
One con is I’m not sure the 3x AAA batteries will last long, however after using it for a week carrying out my normal work, they’re still holding out.
Overall, if you want a small torch, this is certainly a good one for the price.
This torch replaced a more expensive Ledlenser L7 that failed after 4 years and 3 battery changes (with only occasional use), so was an unreliable emergency-use torch. This LE LED torch has an easier on/off switch, a smoother zoom function, is brighter and has a cleaner focus spread. Very Pleased. As for length of bulb-life, watch this space..
It does the job it says it does so very pleased with i
I am very impressed with these torches. The slidy part that makes the beam narrower is great – and I can see it light our house from 200 yeards away (may be a bit more actually – I’m not that good at measuring distances). The batteries that were supplied don’t seem that good – but I wouldn’t have expected high performance batteries anyway.
I’ve swapped them for some Energiser ‘super duper’ batteries (can’t remember the proper name of them) – and the brightness increased dramatically.
I use the torch to take my dogs for a walk in the fields every morning and every night and it’s great!
Without going back on my account, I can’t remember when I bought the torches – maybe a few weeks ago – so not that long ago. But so far they’ve been ‘brilliant’!
As an addition (after reading the 1 star comments), I suddenly realised that mine are pretty new – so the switch seems fine at the moment. Mind you, for 6-00 to 7-00, I wouldn’t expect anything beyond 12 months. Happy if they last that long.
I bought this torch for work, because – like a previous reviewer – I’m sick of these LED torches that cycle through 17 different modes and then play the Marseillaise before you can switch the damn thing off!
This does exactly what a torch is supposed to do – you press the button on the base and it switches on, you press it again and it switches off. It has a useful “zoom/focusing” function and the only other “gimmick” is a wrist loop that you can actually fit your hand through.
Like all of these torches it’s powered by 3xAAA batteries that fit in a battery holder. It’s a bit shorter than other LED torches that I’ve bought but that isn’t too much of an issue (total length just over 11cm/4 3/8in). It’s not as bright as some LED torches but for my work I don’t need to illuminate something 200 yards away.
It fits perfectly in this holster – Homgaty Nylon Holster Cover Pouch Holder for LED Flashlight Torch (Amazon url: https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00MIORUZO/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1) which costs a mere 1.89.
I can’t comment on the battery life because I haven’t used it that much yet. It’s cheap enough that I bought a second torch so I’ll have a spare that does what a torch is supposed to if/when this one fails.
It’s a compact torch, takes 3 aaa batteries, has the ability to tighten the spread of light by pulling the forward lens section in and out so it shines further allowing you to locate your dog at a distance. The widest setting is perfect for walking through woods and down country lanes. It is very bright for such a small torch and now lives in the dog walking bag. I am soo impressed I am buying another to put in the car glove box in case of punctures etc. For me the best feature is that you press the button on the end once to switch it on and press it once again to switch it off – many other torches this size need to be cycled through several modes such as half power, flashing, sos etc to switch off and is a pain in the bum.
Update: I have now bought 5 of these torches for friends and relatives as they really are the dogs danglies. They are very well made, are very bright for such a little torch and at a great price. I had a small issue with one torch which was handled perfectly by NEON mart and I would defo buy from this seller again. Perfect.
Whether this torch produces 140 lumen it is rated at, I can confirm it is incredibly bright. In fact, it is as bright as another torch that I’ve got – the Hiwill LED torch rated at (wait for it) 800 lumen. Make of that what you will. The build is solid and I can confirm it is water-resistant, having used it on a number of occasions in heavy rain.
The focus/zoom control is what lets it down. Don’t get me wrong – it works as advertised but the smooth continuous zoom, as opposed to well-defined discrete zoom-steps, seems to take forever to move from one end of the zoom range to the other, requiring several complete revolutions. The Hiwill is far superior in this respect, with 10 or so zoom-steps, and I much prefer that design. However, unlike the Hiwill, there isn’t a flash mode – it’s simply on-or-off. Personally, I prefer this to Hiwill’s modes (bright/dim/flash) as the flash mode can be quite disconcerting when switching it back on from dim-mode. That said, the flash mode does have its uses particularly for hill-walkers, just not for me. This is good price for a bright, reliable torch. If I had to pick one, I’d go with the Hiwill solely due to the better focus/zoom control.
**** OVERVIEW ****
Being an electrician and having trademan trousers, you know the ones with the large flappy pockets, I can often find myself in dark places like attics or cupboards where the Distribution Boards are.. I was using my Fluke Voltage Pen which has a torch on the end of it, it was good for a while but the LED wasn’t good enough, so I needed a new torch, this being so cheap seemed a good option.
**** PROS ****
* Small enough to keep in your pocket
* Such a decent output from the LED, very very bright.
* The ability to change between wide and narrow beam of light, although to date I haven’t found a use for the narrow beam.
**** CONS ****
* slightly weighty, but for such a decent output this can be over looked.
* the narrow (further) beam of light when you change the focus isn’t very crisp, you can see slight stray fragments of light coming from the point of where it needs to be.. but being picky considering the price.
**** FINAL THOUGHTS ****
This torch has a great value for money feel, the built quality is superb, it’s weight shows the building material used, the light output is fantastic, I thought this torch was actually going to be slightly smaller than what it is but for the price of the thing (at the time of review 7.50) then you’ll truly struggle to get a better tiny torch than this thing. Great additional to my tools.
I’ve taken 2 pictures showing the difference with the zooms on the torch, one being that narrow beam I mentioned and also the wide beam, both taken from same distance away. I have also used this at night to rummage around the van, it’s fantastic.
Cheers,
TechObsession.
I bought this based on reviews and the look of the item. I bought it specifically for my dog walks – lone woman with dog in a big park in the dark in manchester- yikes!! It’s the best purchase Iv’e made on Amazon. I honestly wasn’t expecting much for the money but it feels like a quality product, I’ts not too heavy yet doesn’t feel like a nasty torch that fell off the back of a truck from Taiwan. It’s small enough to fit in my tracky pockets and can use it holding a dog lead and,,,, AND holding a brolly (bonus). The torch adjusts from immediate light to at least 100 meters away (sorry don’t know what the technical term is for adjusting the beam) so much to the irrational of creepy people who walk around the park with no torch – I can spot people from a serious distance away which is brilliant) Adjusting the beam is dead easy as it slides back and forth opposed to a twist mechanism which is great as you can do it with one hand. If you can’t tell already I’m really pleased with my purchase and have starting looking at the head torch as I got torch envy this morning when a bloke was wearing a extremely bright head torch. Sorry also it looks like a really expensive torch and the guys in the office, sad as this is, actually thought the touch was really nice. ‘A nice piece of kit’ as one of them stated.
I’m sooooo impressed with this little torch and for the price it’s amazing!! I work as a courier and this time of year I deliver parcels in the dark. So house numbers are just impossible to read with a normal torch. I used to have a military torch which was given by a friend and this broke, so was on the look out for something that would do the trick. I was very suspicious at first thinking for the price it would be useless but I read numerous reviews on Amazon and asked question’s. I took the plunge and so glad that I did as it’s just brilliant.
I can read house numbers without having to get out of my car as you can zoom into a small focused spotlight (which doesn’t shock the occupants inside) and is ideal to use with just one hand. So there is no fiddly twisting between beams, you can just adjust with either a thumb or a few fingers (depending how your holding it). It’s small enough to fit into a women’s handbag and not really heavy at all. Yes there is some weight to it and it’s really well made. Infact it looks as good as the more expensive military torch which has just died. I like the longish strap too which is easy to get your hand into or to twist the torch on it’s self like I do as I strap it to my messenger bag so that I don’t loose it. The button on the end is a soft rubber and easy to press and the rest of the case is a metal. If you do whoever have to look at something close up, just don’t put the beam at a 90 degree angle to the paper as the light can bounce back in your face and blind you a little haha. I tend to hold the torch at a slight angle for looking at something in the dark so that I don’t get blinded.
UPDATE
Since buying that torch, I still think it’s as brilliant as it ever was. Sadly my first torch has gone missing and I only assume my husband has borrowed it because it’s so good.
So as a result, I hunted down my last order from years ago and bought again. The bonus this time is it’s cheaper!! I first paid about 9.99 and now it’s 6.99. I would fully recommend.
For such a small pocket friendly sized torch this Beauty punches well above its weight. I was going to buy a maglite cos that’s what my mates have and brag about. After doing a bit of research I decided on this one due to very favourable reviews. WOW! I’m glad I did. The output from this little beast is truly stunning and has to be seen to be believed, this blows other torches (yes you maglite) out of the stratosphere. The beam is very, very bright pure white light and is adjustable from spot to flood with a simple one handed sliding action on the head of the torch. The reach of the beam on spot mode is outstanding allowing you to pick out objects at an astounding distance, when shone into the night sky the beam is visible like a searchlight. On flood mode the beam lights up a good wide area to enable you to see the terrain ahead for safe walking.
The body of the torch is aircraft grade aluminium and is very sturdy and feels good in the hand, the beam adjustment has a very good pleasingly smooth action too.It takes three AAA batteries (supplied!) and I noticed a rubber gasket around the battery compartment so I assume the torch is pretty water proof although I can’t vouch for this as I haven’t got it wet yet. Overall this is a fantastic purchase for the price and puts other torches to shame. The item arrived well packaged and in super quick time and with free supersaver postage too.
If you are looking for a small lightweight supremely bright torch get this I can’t recommend it enough.
This rather small torch is rather bright. I can’t comment on battery life however as I’ve only had the thing a short time and it’s only likely to be used once in a while. I’ll keep it in my car for emergencies.
The beam either in narrow or wide focus is pretty bright. The light is the kind of harsh blue/white you get with cheaper LEDS, the light quality is so so, but then it’s unlikely this item will be used by quality control experts using pantone charts. The torch is perfectly good at lighting your way when you need it. The construction of the torch seems fairly solid even if it’s LED displays some of the characteristics of cheapness.
The beam as I’ve said is bright. On narrow focus the beam perfectly projects the shape of the LED lamp chip, and all it’s components. It’s so intense you could probably blind someone with it. The light beam on full narrow is bright enough to dimly light up a mill tower some 500ft away as measured from my point of view to the target in google earth. Not bad for a small relatively inexpensive LED torch. I’d expect you’d get a better light show out in the sticks without all the light pollution around here.
Cheap, well built, and bright and four stars.
Setting up this torch (I haven’t bought a torch for years) required plenty of patience and 20:20 eyesight.
1) putting the instructions for setting up in cream writing on a lime green ground is a mad design decision. So, without a legible clue 2) which way round do the batteries go? There is a “-” sign on the base. But that is NOT the way they go. I lost count of the combinations I tried before the light came on.
This has great reviews. I presume from people unfazed by the set up process.
Things have, indeed, got better. The torch is proving very useful, being small enough to put in a pocket when outdoor activities beckon (usually dog walking in my case) which have to be done in the dark at this time of year. The beam, at its widest, is still powerful enabling me to avoid potholes and find the dog (at the same time). The tight beam entrances children, I’ve found (‘is it a fairy?’). I presume it’s really for finding keys/keyholes. The point of switch on is novel: at the opposite end of the torch to the light beam. I suppose it is designed to be switched on with the same hand you’re holding it with. The designer must have more flexible fingers than I do. But then, presumably this is the same designer who reckoned cream writing on light green was the way to go … yes, OK, I’ll shut up about that now.
More when I see how long the 3 x AAA batteries last.
