I was not really surprised how looking n the pictures but definitely was a good decision to buy this office chair.
I was struggling to get an office chair that would fit under my desk. This shows the seat pad at 51cm, which it is. Unfortunately the side brackets are 3cm each, which means that it will not fit under the 54cm desk. Looks like I will have to send it back, suffer bad posture or buy a different desk
Ok but very hard to put togther took 3 of us plus its starting to rock a bit now i’m 90kg and it says its good up to 150kg so hope it holds plus usless your really short the head rest is no good i’m 5 11 and my head is way over the head rest my girl is 5 foot and her head only just fits not great for anyone taller than 5 foot but otherwise its fine
…OK not to be sexist at all, but this chair would not suit the taller or hefty types. I am 5ft5 average build/size12 type and it is perfect. My 6ft2 husband sat in it and the headrest is on his shoulders and it doesn’t go high enough for his legs.
Very easy to assemble. It arrived on a Sunday afternoon while we were out walking the dogs/having a pint(or two) of cider in the sunshine and I managed to put it together when we got back as per the instructions in about 15min.
I wanted;
1) a supportive office chair,
2) a mesh back,
3) flip up arms (to tuck under the desk),
4) built in headrest (after having previously snapped movable headrests off!),
5) I also wanted in in a leather type material but after reading reviews about sweaty bottoms I’m actually glad this only had the fabric option!
This chair really delivers, it’s smart, lightweight and unfussy design is a winner.
Chair isn’t a standard size. I’m 176cm and it fits me perfectly. The lower back support is a bit odd and depending on how you sit it can be slightly uncomfortable.
The chairs very sturdy and I’m happy with it.
Love products from songmics.
Everything seems to be perfect,
Well wrapped and spare parts included. Instructions and labelled well . When your a woman and have to put things together yourself this was simple and straightforward. Lovely chair. looks nice, comfortable and the arms lift which is an added bonus. Plus reasonably priced..love it many thanks highly recommend.
Good quality and very easy to assemble , quality of parts good and easy instructions and overall it’s very comfortable and folding hand rest is really good .. but back support can be improved furthe
Arrived on time, clear assembly instructions, and assembled in 20 minutes. Great chair for the price. Very sturdy and comfortable and good back support.
I went from a Sihoo at 200+ to this for 80ish – there is a slight quality difference but nowhere near the difference of price. Very solid product.
Very comfy chair..love the flip up arms to allow chair to fit under desk..great idea
After receiving and assembling chair I purchased a further 3 for an office setting. Very comfortable to sit in.
I hate DIY, and even a flatpack fills me with trepidation. But this chair is very easy to assemble. The instructions are clear and everything you need to put the chair together is supplied. I was able to assemble it in about 45 minutes working slowly. I suspect someone who is more adept could do in half that time. The only part I had any difficulty with was putting on the cap covering for the screw holes and that is quite a minor issue. The chair is very comfortable, secure and looks stylish. I feel it is good value for money. I would definitely recommend this model.
So comfortable. Can put the arm rests up if you prefer to work that way. The seat is so soft and the back rest is really comfortable. Would definitely recommend
It’s great, no squeaks or sounds when moving around, the base is metal so it doesn’t break like the plastic ones I’ve had before. Great for the price.
Very easy to assemble and is sturdy and supportive.
This does not tilt though
used by my grandson for his computer he says its very comfy
Ability to weight bear a larger person .A good strong comfortable chair . Bought for my Son who highly recommends this chair .
This chair was purchased specifically for use while recording guitar in a (amateur) home studio. The adjustable arms were the main selling point, as I need them out of the way when recording guitar tracks. When it comes to mixing, I can move the arms back down and use it like a standard computer chair. The build is sturdy, and it was very easy to assemble. Bonus points for a set of spare bolts and washers! The seat is very comfortable, but would’ve scored a full 5 had there been an extra lower back cushion. This I suppose though is just personal preference, but the option would be nice. For this price however, the chair ticks all the boxes.
Bought for my home office. Relatively easy to assemble.
Comfortable and really useful having a head res
Nice design, base of the chair its metal, wheels are plastic but preaty strong, silver arms are metal and the arm rest are plastic, seat is wood base and wraped with clought material, back rest its plastic with mesh and plastic lumbar support, lumbar support its not fantastic as in the top range but its doing its jog.Now where i am not satisfied its seat base could be metal or hard durable plastic also seat cushion and the arm rest cushions are not great they feel like cheap sponge, some memory foam would improve the confort.Over all its a good sturdy and strong chair, i am 1.74m and 130kg, also my head passes the top of the back support so i think it wont fit taller people, good value for the price.
This arrived quickly, was really easy to put together and has solved toe back issues I was getting with the cheaper chair I initially bought to see me through a short lockdown. Not a padded back, but the mesh and flexible lower back support are comfortable. Fold up arms are useful for the small desk. Was within my employers budget too for expenses, so win win.
Prompt delivery, quick to assemble, very comfortable, worth every penny!
The screw caps keep falling from the chair. The left arm rest broke off yesterday. I am using a single arm rest now.
ook a while to arrive, but was worth the wait, i am more than happy with this chair.
clean and good design but not so comfort for 170 cm perso
Bought for home office good Quality, Especially for the price.
Arrived when it should have, was easy to put together and is comfortable. What else would you want?
Just received today and it’s perfect. It’s comfy and I’m positive it will make such a difference to support my back. The only downside is that the holes that have been placed do not match properly with different parts so that they can connect together, it became very frustrating trying to build it as each hole do not align togethe
Out of all the things I bought during lockdown this was the BEST. It’s an office chair so not a chariot so it does exactly what it’s supposed to do. It’s good quality, sturdy & can hold a larger framed person well with no real compromise on comfort.
I found it quite easy to put together but I’m somewhat of a flat pack expert.
Favourite feature is definitely that the arms go up to a 45 degree angle which allows you to adjust comfort and lean over to plug your laptop charger in.
Due to Christmas rush and pandemic my order was extremely late, but it did arrive on Christmas eve and the seller was very sorry and kindly refunded 30% of the price, chair was easy to assemble, comfortable and a nice looking chair.
Been looking ages for a new computer chair as I have a new job and will be working from home around 7 hours a day. Comfort and back support was my main priority.
Reading the reviews of this chair, I knew this was the one and it was well within my budget.
Assembly took about 20 minutes and was very easy to understand. The instructions are a bit like IKEA flat pack instructions.
I’ve used it and it’s excellent. The only thing I would say is that I wish I’d gone for a chair with a adjustable headrest. Apart from that, it’s a great chair.
So before purchasing this chair, I read a lot of reviews, they were all over the place and probably really overdramatic. Once the chair was delivered it was fully assembled in giving or take 20 minutes and can easily be done with one person. The chair pad is comfortable and from what I’ve read lasts well. The back support is for me where the problems support, I am the height of a small giraffe at 6’5 and am naturally going to have a different experience from someone who is of average height. For me, my head is about 25cm clear of the headrest and I can imagine is going to leave me with a neck ache, and the curves of the chair feel like they do not align properly with my back. As for the features, the reclining tool is misleading and is more of a rocking tool as positions cannot be locked into place however the static regular position can be. The wheels of the chair do not stick and the chair is easily moved and overall the chair feels very solid. So I can honestly say that for anyone even over the height of 6’1 maybe even 6′ this chair is not going to be ideal. Below that height, I have to recommend.
This is our 2nd purchase of this chair, although from different suppliers. I got one for myself when I started to work from home at the start of COVID lockdowns but have since bought another for my husband who is in the same boat.
It is a doddle to put together and the instructions are clear. It took me about 20 minutes on my own for both.
We went for this one as seemed reasonably priced compared to others yet providing more comfort and support than others of a similar price and haven’t been disappointed.
I’m sure there are better out there, but for a more affordable option without it being completely naff, this is ideal!
This chair is very comfortable, it was easy to put together following the instructions supplied and I’m happy with the finished product. For the price you can’t go wrong.
Seems reasonable quality, all parts went together quite easily with decent enough instructions, some spare parts supplied also which is helpful – took me 20 minutes end to end.
comfortable enough and appears to be supportive but is new so only time will tell. tilt and height adjustment is easy with nice action.
overall recommendation is that it’s go fir the price, there are better for sure but much more expensive.
Easy to assemble. Good size for teenagers and adult. Not small. Confortable.
This really isn’t for those gifted with height (not a problem I have) but my 12 year old son and 6ft 2 husband are too tall for this chair. Otherwise it will be fine for me easy to assemble sure you could shop around don’t expect miracles for the price but sure this will do the working from home job.
Really pleased and wish I’d bought one ages ago. Very comfortable and supportive, easy to put together too. Really Like the adjustable arms as they allow me to sit close to the desk when needed as with my old chair I couldn’t do this. All feels solid and high quality, looks really modern.
This chair was to replace an ageing chair and the comfort and support of this new chair was instantly noticeable. It was very simple to assemble, making the offer of an expensive fitter to put together somewhat redundant. The additional parts including an extra castor were also a bonus. All in all an excellent purchase.
Easy to set up, study and comfortable. I spend 8 hours a day on it working from home and it’s the first office chair I’ve been fully comfortable all day
Previous buyers reviews influenced my decision to buy this particular item. Arrived earlier than estimated delivery time. Unpacked box and started construction. Instruction book with diagrams easy to follow. 1 hour later up of tea in hand I was sitting in my new office chair! Chair as described. Good lumbar support with head rest, flip up arms. Wanted a mesh back for when we have hot summer days. Very very pleased with item.
This chair is comfortable and has average back support. Assembly was straight forward. Overall happy with my purchase.
I am sitting in the chair as I type this review, it is very comfortable and easy to put together.
one thing to note is not to tighten screws until everything has been put together. I found that when I tightened the screws up, the next part that I tried to attach would not fit as the holes were out of alignment, so loosening the screws, attaching everything to finger tightness and then when everything is connected, you tighten everything up.
The chair is very study and the adjustable height works very well too.
A replacement for my old office chair and really comfortable, good-looking and compact.
Quality product! However was expecting it to be less squeaky
Nice chair, good quality, back and head rest is fixed so make sure if you are tall check the sizes.
I found the chair easy to assemble and it came with spare components. The chair itself is comfortable and I no longer experience backache when working on my Display Screen Equipment.
This chair was so easy to assemble – even for an older woman …… I did follow another purchasers tip of not fitting the screw covers until I had used the chair for a few days and retightened the screws before fitting them.
All of the screws, caps, key etc were all sealed in a special bubble pack with the items all in their own groups so you cannot get mixed up and use the wrong screws for the different parts …. great idea Songmics.
This chair is very comfortable even for long periods and being able to lift the arm rests up and out of the way is a great feature.
I had a squeak when I turned round so contacted the supplier who immediately suggested replacing a couple of parts which they sent straight out to me …. Problem solved and I could not ask for better service ….. Thank you Alice at Songmics.
Brilliant chair, very comfy. I even assembled it myself (something I would never usually attempt) and it was so easy. The chair looks amazing too!
Quick delivery, very easy to assemble, its super sturdy and really comfortable the lumbar support and head rest make it really easy to work from home….
good product and very very good for the price. easy and quick to assemble. highly reccomend this!
This chair has started to fall apart after less than a years worth of use.
Really comfy chair standard back support.
Like the handles go up so you can put the chair under the desk without changing the height Everytime you use it
Mesh fabric is breathable an comfortable.
Great asset to my craft/home office
Comfortable although would have been 5* if lumbar support was more defined as have to sit back or recline to feel benefits.
The only downside I would say is that the headrest area is not adjustable and thus sits a little low. The arms do fold up which is great, height is adjustable and overall I find it comfortable when used all day at my desk
The old office chair had seen better days – being rather heavy, worn and looking a bit bedraggled, and in need of replacement. Enter Songmics and their range of office chairs. Having previously purchased kitchen chairs from Songmics and being quite satisfied with their quality and ease of assembly, it was natural to return to them for this purchase.
The Songmics Office Desk Chair – with High Back, Mesh, Swivel Desk, Flip-up Armrests – was a good medium range chair from the Songmics variety. Comfort is provided by sponge-padded seat, arm, and head rests. The arm rests can flip up easily if required for greater arm and hand mobility. With good arm and lumbar support, I found the chair to be as comfortable as most office chairs I have ever had. Perhaps the head rest was found to be a little wanting (not projecting far enough in front), except when in a relaxed body position dependent on the body height of the user.
The height of the seat is easily adjustable and is quite functional – which is more than can be said for the tilt function, which, unfortunately, I found to be less helpful than expected (not really having a “tilt” function). The chair is more suitable for my carpetted floor than previous office desk chairs. The castors are silent and move the steel frame quite easily to where I want to station the chair. It is still necessary, however, to remove body weight from the chair when adjusting floor positions
Importantly, the chair was relatively straightforward to assemble, with relatively clear instructions (though be careful with the “Front” label on the underside of the seat – it can be missed and cause assemblage difficulty). An appropriate Allen Key tool was provided for assembling the parts. The various parts of the chair were all suitably protected with sponge and blister packaging for transportation, and correctly separated and labelled for assembling. The package comes with a spare castor and an extra spare of each type of screw. Thoughtful and practical.
The final assembling of the chairs showed that the seat was a little lopsided. This was probably due to one, or several, of the holes drilled for self-assembling being slightly off centre. This was observable to inspection, though not to casual view, and certainly did not offset the comfortability of the chair.
At the special reduced price, the Songmics Office Desk Chair presents good value for money, with the promise of long-lasting use. It is attractive to look at and has a range of practical functions associated with this type of office desk chair. Recommended.
I’ve been working from home for years but now seen the light and got this excellent chair. Game Changer! Also good for gaming while pretending to work….
This is a perfect product – exactly as described, I had spinal surgery in January and was worried about it – after for sitting for 7-8 hours a day I have no back pain at all ! Can’t recommend it enough !!
Fabulous chair for comfort with long hours at my office desk
This chair was so easy to assemble and I have never had such a comfortable chair as this one, the ergonomic backrest is so comfortable for me as I have had an arthritic back for 40 years, what also helps is the mesh backing which stops you from getting too hot and uncomfortable if sitting for long periods. It moves freely with the good quality wheels and they even supply a spare one should you ever need it. Money well spent I think.
So comfortable and supports back and shoulders. Very quick to assemble.
Really nice comfortable chair. The folding arms make it a nice neat fit under the desk. Good quality
This is a perfect desk chair especially if you have a soar back.
I ordered the desk chair, since i started to work from home during the pandemic.
Even though the parcel was lost in transit, Songmic’s arranged the delivery of a new desk chair which i received within 3 to 4 working days.
The chair is very easy to assemble and to adjust according to your needs.
I am very pleased which this purchase as it provides a good support to your lower back and hence i would highly recommend this chair.
It is a very comfortable chair. Easy to build and on my own no help required.
Very comfortable stylish chair. Fits together easily, even I could do it, very comfortable too.
Only been using for a day, but very happy so far. Easy to assemble (20 minutes max) and comfortable. Only thing to do is that the headrest height cant be adjusted, but I think that is to be expected at this price.
Purchased this as my existing chair really wasn’t meant for using day-in day-out. Like many I’m sure, I’m working from home through the Corona pandemic. Didn’t want to spend silly money on a desk chair and this one seemed good value for money. I like arms, the wife doesn’t. So fold-up arms was a must.
Assembly: I’m really not sure why people say this is difficult. I managed it in 30 minutes at a careful pace. Generally speaking it’s always wise to screw everything in loose and tighten at the end. The only slight confusion for me was that the pack of screws (which is sealed and labelled per screw type which really makes things simple), it had a set of screws that weren’t required. I’m scrambling through the manual thinking I’ve missed something! I suspect this is a standard pack for all sorts of chairs.
It looks… Well.. OK. You can see it’s on the cheaper end. The plastic armrests really give it away.
So I’m sitting in it now, and I can say it is definitely more comfortable than my flimsy previous chair. Back support is good, and the arms fold away nicely. But the reclining… Don’t think this has an adjustable back. It doesn’t. You can “unlock” it so it angles the whole chair (ie the seat also tilts). But you can’t lock it into any position or anything. I’m not sure I care massively about this. I’m working in it, not sleeping in it! But something to bear in mind.
Over all then, so far so good. 2 days of use and my bum isn’t as numb as it was before, and my back feels properly supported. Would I recommend… Yes.
Very comfortable and easy to assemble. Great chair highly recommended.
This the best chair I have had the picture is actually the chair I bought.
bought as a gift for my grandson and he loves it . he says its very comfortable
I was reluctant to spend a lot on a chair, for my home office this was to replace a much more expensive one where the faux leather/plastic was peeling. I liked the idea of fabric-like surfaces and the price being < 100. Assembly was easy. I'm 6ft and 115Kg and the chair seems able to deal with my weight. The lumbar support is well placed for me, the headrest seems to be about 10cm too low, the top of it is in the middle of my head when I lean back. I bought another to replace the even more expensive chair in my office. As long as they both last a couple of years or so I'll be happy with spending less, they seem to be working well so far.
Pretty comfortable and easy to assemble. Able to adjust the height of the chair with ease. However, the seat depth is not adjustable.
Overall, I’m happy with chair.
This is a well made office chair, with very clear assembly instructions, all the parts are clearly labelled with a few addional screws and an extra castor, the parts fit togther well and the chair is comfortable and has a good seat height range (upto 55cm) pleased with this item
It’s a comfy chair for sure but is not ideal if you’re over 6ft. The headrest isn’t adjustable and the ridge will sit on your neck rather than your head. It’s not uncomfortable by any means but it’s a bit of a shame for an otherwise decent chair.
Comfortable and agile office chair, good value for money compared to others I saw
Does what it is supposed to do. How long it will last we will have to wait and see.
I really like the armrests. They are just perfect!!!
When i move the chair, it make the metal noise. A bit weird, i didn’t expect that.
The headrest is a bit too low for me. I am 165cm tall. Which means the chair is perfect for short people only.
I is uncomfortable after about an hour, and gradually sinks, not sure whether to repair or scap
A good chair with folding arms for neat stowage. A little clunky on the castors but time will tell.
Really happy with this purchase I’ve had it for months & months now & I’ve had no problems with it – well worth the money.
I ordered this as a semi-cheap office chair for my setup. It is very comfy and very easy to assemble by one person in under 30mins-1hr.
The quality of the chair is slightly on the cheaper side in terms of material but everything else makes up for it.
This chair is of good quality and is very comfortable its a really good product I would highly recommend this
Really impressed with this chair. Very comfortable, the recline action is springed and well balanced and the arm rests are easy to lift when needed. Also its quite slim for a full height chair.
Appears well made. Did have a problem with a defective pneumatic ram 2 months after purchase. Queried and a free replacement was sent through and fixed the problem. Quick service even though they look to be based in Germany.
First chair with quiet castors that actually work as they should across all surfaces. The chair is also very supportive and comfortable for long periods of time. I was sitting in this, on and off, for nearly ten hours the other day. This would have been impossible with any other chair that I’ve previously purchased without suffering severe bum and back ache.
It arrived well packaged and was fairly easy to put together. First impressions are that it seems quite well made and good value for the price. It remains to be seen how comfortable it will be long term. The seat cushion seems a little thin for someone of any significant weight. Plenty of lumbar support.
I am pleased with my computer chair. I did a lot of research. I wanted fold up arms so It can be tucked under the desk. I wanted to be sure it wasn’t specifically for tall, 6′ people, but more for 5’4″ height. I wanted lumber support and neck rest. It is comfortable and looks good and was not too expensive. Assembly was easy and took about 30 minutes. Yes I like it.
This chair met my expectations with one exception. It is robust and does the job, however, because I am tall, and the head rest is not adjustable, it pokes into my back rather than supporting my head. Other than this, I am very pleased.
This chair is much lighter than my old one but seems just as robust. It has soft castors and glides over the laminate floor.
Chair was easy to assemble, a long as you leave the two arm bolts loose until both bolts are in place then fit the back and tighten all bolts.
Fittings are well marked in blister pack with spares too!
It is a bit tedious tightening the long bolts with the enclosed hex key (I used my T handled hex key to speed things up) but the key is fine for the job if that’s all you have.
Comfortable to use and the folding arms are great for tucking the chair under a desk when not in use.
There is a slight roughness on the moulding seam under the arm that might catch a jumper when folded up out of the way, but it trimmed off easily with a penknife not a problem at all.
Cannot say how well it will last but so far so good.
Be sure if it does dump me on the floor I will let you know!
All round very happy.
The seat went together easily with a minor exception, the left arm, which appeared to be minutely out of alignment such that the front screw went in slightly crooked. Pushing and shoving solved that. The seat is extremely comfortable. I had thought I would prefer the one without headrest in case it did not fit me, but rejected that because the seat would not lift as high as this one. The headrest fits and I am about 5′ (7″ -8″).
For a few days the seat smells of glue or something but not enough to overcome the pros.
I can recommend this seat as one of the most comfortable, the lumbar support though not adjustable is spot on. The other older one I now gave to my wife 🙂 is highly padded and soft (fitting?)
Really comfortable office chair for when I’m working from home. Worth the money and much comfier than a leather equivalent!
Overall this is a very good chair, the instructions and parts were easy to understand and put together, and the hair was easy to assemble with just one person. I did have a little trouble getting the screws tightened with one of the arms, but once I switched to a large allen key instead of the one provided this was no longer a problem!
Easy to put together and lumbar support just right, good quality for the price
Easy to assemble, comfortable, spacious ,soft seating, a good value home office chair for the price paid.
Will 100% buy another one. Great chair and comfy, I sit on and off 8+ hours a day and it still feels like new and I am not the slimmest guy in the world
If you have made flat pack furniture from a certain company, you will know an Allan Key is included in the box to make life easy. Songmics do the same, they package and unlike that other company label the small parts in a blister pack and include spares of all small parts as well. All the other items are covered in recyclable plastic.
Making the chair is easier than that certain company – the instructions are clear and as you know what a S103 M6-35mm looks like from the blister pack, it is very hard to go wrong. Another plus is the plastic covers to hide the screws. A tip here would be not to put them on until you have used the chair a few days and then ensure the scores are tight still., otherwise you will probably chip the plastic covers removing them.
It is hard to find reasonably priced office chairs capable of supporting someone weighting more than 110kgs. Songmics do this with ease taking the max weight of this chair up to 150kgs. The seat cushion is 7cm thick and not made of cheap foam – it carries my weight with no problem at all.
Adjusting the chair to tilt mode, I am happy to say the move from 90 degrees to 110 degrees is simplistic and slow. There is no fear that the seat will go any further back than it is designed to do. The folding armrests are great, sitting upright in the chair my elbows are comfy on the armrests and my arms lay flat on the desk. Sitting correctly is important and you should always make sure your feet are flat on the ground.
The head rest is no moveable and comes into it down when the seat reclines and the lumber support is in a perfect position in the hollow of my back. For the record I am 5′ 9″ and 120 kgs – sitting comfortable.
If I have a niggle it is the seat has a slight wobble when in the upright position.
Update. November 2020. Yes the chair still is in use, yeas I am happy with, with concerns. One of the wheeled feet failed a couple of months ago – Songmics include a spare. The seat no longer supports my weight and over a day it will drop from max to min levels gently. The memory foam has collapsed under my weight and the seat is getting uncomfortable. Finally when rocking the seat back on occasion the gas gives way and you come down with a thump or it feels like you have over balanced – I imagine the gas rod has a slight bend in it as I sit to the right all the time.
Update 2. Another castor has failed, nearly ended up on my bum. lasted 3 years to the day I last received this chair. Need another now as swapping castors around does not help.
We bought this for our home office and it has to be suitable for my 6’2″ husband and 5′ 2′ me. It is very comfortable and the sitting posture is great for working at the computer.
The chair is easily assembled using just the Allen Key provided. The initial impression is that it is a comfortable chair with the headrest being at the perfect height for me (I am 5′ 10″ tall).
I’ve been buying a new chair for my office almost 1 a year, as I work at home a lot, and I usually purchase faux leather exec chairs (cheap-ish). But during the hot weather, these can become very uncomfortable to sit in.
Well, this new chair arrived yesterday morning and I was already feeling uncomfortable with my current chair to immediately put this one together.
Assembly was a doddle (I like the way the screws were vacuum sealed and labelled) and took me no more than 15 minutes to do.
The chair doesn’t recline, like others I have purchased, but not a big deal for me; and the meshed back in the afteroon yesterday meant I wasn’t uncomfortably hot on my back. The armrests are nicely padded and the wheels of this, cheaper than my usual chairs, are much more ‘glidey’ than the more expensive ones I’ve purchased.
I did want to purchase the same chair I use at work, but unfortunately these are 500 a pop. So for the price, this one definately fits the bill and didn’t numb my bum yesterday afternoon!
