If it’s organic material and fits, you can cut it. Limbs, toes, you’re only limited by your imagination.

Since purchasing these my husband is never in the garden without them. Exactly as described- light weight but sturdy and can tackle some pretty big branches.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThe lopper is light weight, so it is easy to lift and hold. The lopper has a lot of leverage, so it does cut through thick wood. I used it on vine up to about 1″ diameter. (There was nothing thicker than that which I wanted to cut.)
By design, to get the great leverage, the handles must be open to about 90 degrees to fit around and then cut a thick vine or branch. Opening the handles this far was difficult for me, but I think that design feature cannot be helped.
Branches would be easy to lop because the individual branches are easy to see. Because I was lopping a vine with tangled “branches,” it was difficult to see to get the lopper’s cutting edges positioned correctly around what I wanted to cut. The blades are designed for cutting, not inserting into tight places.

I put these through the test, the moment I picked them up. Was thinking they’d last 1 day. But these things easily went through 2 inch branches like butter. Very impressed. Was looking for the model that has a nub at the tip to help hold onto the branch, but couldn’t find that model. This is super light and cuts easily. Very surprised and pleased with this purchase. Will last a longer than anticipated. Happy

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersOk after small chainsaw and electric cutter fail. I bought these with no hope. Wrong. Like a hot knife on butter. Amazing! I thought I would need two. Replaced telescopic loppers. No messing trying to slide and lock arms. Smooth easy cut and good leverage for folk with less arm strength. Gnarled rose stems no problem. The gearing puts them on a par with the old telescopic long arms for bite.

Lightweight. Not the sturdiest (needed a quick tighten after a few hours moderate use, no big deal) but considering the price they’re definitely worth every penny. I’d buy them again.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersI had to trim some tree branches from my neighbors tree that were hanging over my fence, and interestingly, this product was more expensive and had a larger limb cutting capacity than one that was cheaper but this one had free shipping, the cheaper one with shipping costs was actually more expensive. So it worked out great, a better product and less money overall. I cut thru some fairly big branches like butter, just super easy. I may end up using this product once every two years, maybe once a year, but it was well worth the money I spent, now when those limbs grow into my yard, I have this at the ready and I can depend on it to do the job and do it well. Recommended.

Golden Review Award: 19 From Our UsersMy backyard needed some serious work, I’m taking about big thorny bushes, small odd trees, and we have two big trees as well. I’m a small woman but I fear no challenge. Having no previous experience with loppers, I did some research and settled on these since I didn’t want to spend too much being that I’m a beginner. This baby helped me achieve what I wanted! They’re long enough to help me reach and cut some tree branches and helped me cut down those pesky thorny shrubs. I love these sooo much I did so much work in one day! Even my husband couldn’t believe how much I got done! I would say they can cut down up to 1-1/2 in thickness to 2 inches. I didn’t want to attempt any thicker than that because I didn’t want to hurt my baby. Anyways, if you’re a small (but capable) woman, these are for you, the grip isn’t bad and they’re not heavy at all. Take into consideration that if you’re going to be cutting branches upward or with your hands extended upwards, you will get tired but that’s to be expected. Hope this helps!

Golden Review Award: 24 From Our UsersThis is the best lopper I have owned. My previous two have been bypass loppers, and they simply do not work as well on thicker wood branches. I just used this one to do our annual trimming of a rather large crepe myrtle. In the past I have had to use a saw because my previous lopper just could not get through the bigger branches. This lopper did all but a few branches with relative ease.

I deducted one star for the rather generous description of its capabilities. The ad says this will do 1 1/2″ branches with ease. Based upon my experience, I would reduce that to 1″ branches. You can probably gnaw through a 1 1/2″ branch, particularly with 2-3 attempts, but I found the cuts to be neither clean nor easy. To get one clean cut all the way through the branch, I found the branch needs to be all the way down to the base of the blade. The width of the cutter at its base is one inch.

Golden Review Award: 32 From Our UsersI use the chain saw; my wife does the up-close work. I gave her the long-handled Tabor loppers as one of her Valentine’s Day presents so she wouldn’t have to get up close and personal with our bougainvillea and roses. Yesterday at breakfast she informed me that THE LOPPERS WERE THE BEST GIFT SHE HAD EVER GOTTEN IN HER LIFE! She loves them. We’ve been married for 44 years, so I guess I should be embarrassed, but she kisses those loppers every morning! I’m 75, she’s 70. Seriously, she lops a little something out back every morning. Tabor makes the best blade in town.
