Excellent quality Mosquito/Fly killer. Easy to clean with a cleaning brush included, easy to use and good value for money.
This seems to work exactly as promised by attracting bugs towards the light and zapping them when they touch it. It works well at catching those annoying flies and mosquitoes, but it does also attract poor old moths too, which is a bit of a shame.
The cable runs from the bottom of the light, which means it can easily stand up, but you can also hang it via the integral top handle if required.
I have not tried to clean this yet, but imagine this might be a tricky process – time will tell!
Great product. Kills those flies. Shame it kills moths too I try not to put it on at night.
Not sure how to clean it yet – seems a bit fiddly.
It’s a great item. Good value. Silent apart from when it’s zaps!
Leave this on in the cats kitchen, as they always leave some food on the plates. Works very well eliminating bugs and flies.
I use this zapper in my kitchen as it takes up very little space, looks attractive, compared to most, and works really well. It zaps tiny mosquitoes and large flies alike, gathering them up in a container hidden underneath. Larger flies aren’t killed straight away and can be heard buzzing for a while but they are disabled enough to prevent them escaping. To empty it, you just have to twist the bottom of the container clockwise a quarter turn and it frees itself to be emptied. Mosquitoes tend to get stuck to the metal rods so they have to be cleaned off with the supplied brush, which is easy to do. The design is well-thought out and the carrying handle sits in a groove at the top, neatly. The outer cage bars prevent fingers getting anywhere close to the electrified bars, even small ones. It does a brilliant job keeping my kitchen free from bugs and is only 12W. I am delighted with it and definitely recommend it.
Zaps all moths, flying bugs etc. Easy to use.. just plug in.
Silent unobtrusive but essential unit, has a hook so you will need to either install a hook or have this on a table, either way it does a great job.
The uv light is very bright obvisously so you don’t want this beside your bed not that the light is blindingly bright.
It’s silent until a large fly or wasp flies into this then the buzzing noise can be a little loud but you soon get used to it.
It’s not just large flying creatures this catches it catches the tiny 1s that bite you .
Great item, comes with it’s own cleaning brush and works very well.
Looks good caught a few flys will hope it does what it should do
This is a pretty simple but fairly effective little fly zapper which if placed in the right area definitely helps to keep the numbers down as over the past few weeks have a fair number of corpse to throw away and far more than with a similar unit we got a few months back for around the same price so would recommend as doesn’t take up much space but gets the job done.
VPAGLJO Mosquito Killer Lamp. These are plug in by mains lead which are short which limits the place we’re you can leave it.
Was 38.99 now 15.59 at time of review. 4*.
Arrived ready to use. No more flies circling the ceiling light. Very effective.
We used this while out in the garden at the weekend as due to the warmer weather flies and flying ants where out at force. Have to say this worked well left it on the table near were the paddling pool was set up and every so often you heard a crackle. We manged to catch a few and stopped them bothering us was easy to clean.
This is a very handy gadget, having pets and hedgehogs in the garden we get a lot of flies. This seems to be keeping them at bay. I have hung it on the ceiling between the doors that lead to the garden and to where I keep the bins. The blue light is handy as well . At night when I let the dog out I can see where I am going without putting the main light on. It even attracts the moths and I hate moths.
This is a good looking, well built contraption, which won’t look out of place in any kitchen. And it seems to work okay. I say seems because we still have flies buzzing around. Not many, but still….
We don’t have a mosquito problem,so that might be different. And a friend has recommended we leave it on in the dark,so it will definitely attract them. Might be worth a try…
Been getting bothered in the house by small flies. They seem to become more active at night, trying to get in my nose, eyes, mouth etc. and they are very hard to kill and see when there is little light.
So I bought this device, oh they loved it till they went in, then I loved it more than they did. This morning lots of little flies hanging dead between the bars.
Very good products
I gave this to my son as his new flat was plagued with flies and insects. Previously he was relying on bug spray, but I was concerned about the harmful chemicals. When he got this and plugged it in he was surprised how quickly it controlled the problem. He says it is easy to use and very effective.
The only problem is that the bristles n the cleaning brush can be distorted when cleaning the wires, so it becomes less efficient at cleaning the debris.
Overall it works well and is pretty easy to clean.
Works great, attracts all kinds of flying insects. As described.
For 19.99 (price a time of review) this offers very good value for money. It has good form, design, lightweight and easy to use aswell as being easy to clean. This is one of the better mosquito/fly lamps out there that I have used. It’s fairly tall but not wide. Comes with an on and off switch which others I have used do no have this feature which I feel is important. It’s good quality and I would highly recommend.
I hate summer. I hate flies. This at least helps me deal with the latter. It’s surprisingly big, but feels well made and tough. Plugs into the mains. Emits that standard butcher-shop glow. Left it running and went and sat down and within 5 minutes I heard a loud pop which signified my first victim. Having used it at various points over the weekend the pops continued and there was a decent amount of ex-flies collecting. It works, surprisingly effectively. No sticky mess to clean up, nothing is wasted and it’s silent except for the occasional snap from a fly meeting it’s end. I love it.
This mosquito killer bug zapper lamp by the rather unpronounceable VPAGLJO brand is a similar style to many others available today, but uses a more traditional 12 Watt fluorescent UV tube rather than an LED strip. My old zapper was somewhat bigger and brighter with a 4,000 Volt grid — this model has a rather less powerful 1200 Volt grid which should see off most mozzies but not so effective if dealing with large houseflies and wasps. This model can be hung up or placed where it is needed — about two or three feet off the ground is good but a bit of trial and error might be required to find the best spot. As this is only a 12 Watt UV tube it is not very bright and will be most effective in a dark room with no other lights on — probably best in your bedroom or kitchen. Currently around twenty pounds from Amazon this QoMolo IKI-913AE UV bug-killer lamp is reasonable value if you don’t expect too much from it — indoor use only but would probably be OK on the patio if it is dark and not raining. Replacement tubes may be a bit fiddly to fit, but should last for something like 8,000 hours, so hopefully you won’t need one soon. It’s OK for the price but nowhere near as effective as my old zapper — four stars for killing mozzies, less for bigger bugs.
For a fly killing lamp this is good quality. The bars are made from metal rods, unlike some similar products that are all cheap plastic.
This is suitable for small areas such as small workshops, garages, garden sheds, small cafes home kitchens and even lounges and bedrooms. It is great for this time of year as I have seen (and been bitten by) a couple of small flies. The flies aren’t an issue yet as ground temperature stil isn’t too hot yet but by the middle of next week the flying insects will fly higher and will enter homes where the air is cooler, that is when it becomes an issue.
As summer heads towards autumn flies will no longer be an issue as they become a problem. Every year I have to empty the light casing in my kitchen, every few days, as it gets littered with dead flying insects, including the ocassional wasp or two. That is where this lamp will come into play. Leaving this on one of the worktops around one hour before dusk will get rid of those pests as the natural light level goes down.
Sadly, energy prices are rocketing so mains powered products are something one has to think twice about nowadays but this flying insect destroyer only uses 13w of power so one can run this for 10 hours per night for almost seven days and it will only use 1kWh. As this will be of no use during late autumn and thoughout the winter months one is likley to use no more than 15 to 20 kWhs per year so that is currently around 8 per year at 10 hours per day. So, when looking at the running costs this killer is not expensive and apart from keepng flying insects at bay it will make one’s home more hygienic.
One thing many people fail to note is that one of the causes of food poisoning is flies. The housefly in particular is not fussy where it goes to feed. It will go inside a toilet bowl with no worries, it will linger in the plughole of the kitchen sink then it will walk all over any food that is not covered thus spreading any harmful bacteria it has collected.
The flying insects that don’t normally bother us are most likely the more dangerous to our health today. Most people can endure a bee sting, a wasp sting or even a mosquito bite but we all run a risk of food poisoning when flies get at food.
Quality wise this is a good quality product, for the running costs it is still relatively cheap to run and for the health benefits this is a good value product so I am recommending it.
This item is ready out of the box which it great.
Simple to use and clean
Since having this in the house even just having it on every now and then I’ve noticed a distinct reduction in fly activity in the house.
We don’t get many mosquitoes but when we’ve had them this has dealt with them perfectly
Will also be taking this camping thanks to its hanging hook
a good fly zapper for flys or mosqitos. can be used at home or can take travelling when camping, it’s easy to use, strong and sturdy, its safe and effective The uv lamp is easy to clean and safe for kids and pets and has low noise. good value very good for keep flys and bugs away.
This bug zapper is great! It’s very quiet, except when it zaps a bug, and then it emits a quick little crackle. The bars are close together so it’s safe around pets and small children. It lets off a blue light, and works best when the lights are off. Highly recommend!
Quiet
Works best when the lights are off
Easy to clean
Safe to use around pets and children
Not as effective if the lights are on
I hope you find these comments helpful 🙂
* Standing some 14.5 inches tall (37cm) tall, this VPAGLJO – who comes up with such a name? – is a quite large insect zapper.
* Mine is actually branded GoMolo, I expect that might vary.
* I do not hesitate to say it is well made, the (flimsy) handle is convenient if you have somewhere to hang it, and the emptying (of winged corpses) method is manageable although I would prefer a slide-out tray to avoid lifting and tipping the unit.
* Although the stated 1000V grid potential is lower than that of many other zappers it certainly is lethal to the small flying pests, ie mozzies/gnats/midges, that appear on a summer evening although mine has not yet scored a housefly.
* Before buying this zapper I would want know that replacements for the U-Shaped 12W UV tube are easily available. The Amazon product listing does not offer a spare, and such tubes do not have indefinite life.
* The instruction book states that dismantling and tube replacement is a professional job, not a user task.
I do like the shape of this mosquito lamp and it’s very well made with a inner and an outer wire cage it had a low energy 6w UVA fluorescent tube with a life span of 8000 hours. It definitely attracts gnats a few of them have already fizzled and it does smell when this happens but it’s not unpleasant smell. There is a tray at the bottom of the lamp which you just one twist to undo and then you empty the remains into the bin and then you just one twist it back o
Very useful this time of year. Inevitably flying things get indoors – kids in and out leaving doors open. This should reduce that. Easy to set up and easy to use.
A few months ago I made the mistake of buying a USB powered fly zapper, and had it plugged in all last summer. I often sat watching flies buzzing around close to it, and even flying inside, and emerging the other side completely unscathed. I cleaned it at the end of the summer, and it hadn’t zapped a single fly in 4 months.
This zapper is the real deal though, mains powered, with a powerful 1000 volt power grid.
I’ve only had it plugged in for a few hours, and it’s already killed loads of the blighters, big ones, medium sized ones, and small ones, and you know when it’s caught one, because you hear a satisfying loud “crackle”as they get fried. It’s happening every few minutes, and sometimes it makes me jump. It is safe to use, and the design means that even tiny fingers can’t get inside, and accidently touch the high voltage grid. It is also really easy to clean out, and dispose of the little carcasses.
It has a handle to hang it from, and can be used indoors, or in the garden, but although it shows it hanging in the rain, I wouldn’t leave it out to get wet.
Considering I only paid 5 less for the useless USB zapper, this one is a massive improvement in every way. With summer coming, I can highly recommend it, because it is well worth the price.
Mosquito and fly killer. Best used at night when lights are off. Quiet operation, no buzzing. Bugs collected in the base which can be emptied easily from the bottom Perfect for these summer days when we are getting a lot of flies/mosquitos. I leave it switched on all night. It does work well as I find dead flies at the bottom. I definitely recommend
