For the price at under $50 Cdn, it was worth it. See it is now $71. Not sure why the significant jump in price. Not perfect on the squares in a couple spots. Overall, level and a solid board for what I paid for. Hopefully, it will not warp over time by storing it vertical.
The board is heavy and has very smooth finish. It feels premium. The bottom of the board has soft green cushion.
I need to find a good bag for this. ( it would have been great if it came with a bag). This is not a travel friendly board.
This board is expertly made and breathtakingly beautiful! I purchased it to go with a set of chessmen that I purchased from the same seller. World-class product from a world-class seller!
This board is finished to a high standard but the most appealing thing for me is that it’s largely made from rose wood and therefore puts it above the average inlaid board. Also, where space is at a premium, the board is quite compact. A real star.

I always wanted a wooden chessboard. It has an old world charm and this produc didn’t dissapppoint. Excellent finishing and superb quality. If you are thinking about buying it then do so…..you will cherish it for a long time.
I am really impressed with the quality of this board. Very well made from solid woods rather than chipboard and foil veneers as with some other boards. I would have given it five stars but unfortunately I was sent the 18 x 18 inch board rather than the 20 x 20 inch board I ordered. However, I have decided to keep it even though I have paid more than I should have.
Really nice chess board, finished very smoothly. Quite heavy though, which is ideal in the house but absolutely not for travel. Definitely worth the money.
I wanted a nice more substantial board to start playing at home. Price seemed a bit expensive, but am pleased. Waxed several times before use, to help seal. Not ideal for travel, but for me that was not the point.
Honestly top tier. A lot better than other very expensive ones that I’ve seen.
The grain in the wood show opposite direction between white and dark, they all go in the same direction. Pay attention to detail!!
Also mine isn’t flat. If not for the felt causing a little friction mine would spin around.

This is a lovely solid, heavy board, and really well finished. The only limitation (hence only 4 stars) is that it’s a bit small for some chess pieces, but as I have small pieces it’s great! Just check the dimensions before ordering. ( I guess you can send it back if it’s too small). It doesn’t include the chess pieces!
