This speaker ticks all the boxes! Good sound quality, small in size, sturdy operating buttons.
The quality of sound is amazing for this price…..well done, I’d highly recommend it to others.

Couldn’t decide if this was for me but on hearing a friend’s decided it definitely was. So portable and such a great sound both for voice and music. Got it on a lightening deal so even better. Will find this really useful around the house and to take away on holidays etc.

Loved this little speaker – fantastic quality sound for the price, but after about 18 months usage the micro USB port will no longer charge the device – which is soooo frustrating as it it’s otherwise solidly built.
I may invest in a new one as and when I can be sure it will have a USB C charging port. What shame.

Great sound, but obviously depends where you place it on the room, some places much better so need to experiment as with all speakers. Can pump up the volume but loud enough on low. Super quick to set up. A fab little speaker.

It performes as well as the JBL speakers, after 3 months of constant use I can say that it works well.
The option to turn on /off bass comes handy when swithcing between various contents e.g music or sports.
We took it to camping with some rain, it worked well at all the times.
The battery life really is pretty good as mentioned.

Very pleased with the quality and sound of this speaker. Had used JBL flip 4 for a while, but it wasn’t mine do have it back. The tribit is better overall. If you can get this on a deal then go for it, cheap enough to buy two compared to the JBL versions.

I can only repeat the high praise of other reviews here. Sound and battery life are both excellent, the X-Bass button feature makes a real impact, I’ve bought two which when coupled together produce great stereo. Or sometimes I’ll use one singularly. When coupled, having just one of them switched to X-Bass gives a brilliant setup.

I bought this to replace an aged Jambox. I was amazed at how Bluetooth speakers have improved. The bass is strong and the clarity is excellent. Friends were impressed by the depth of the bass and the volume when we took this to the beach for an impromptu bbq party.
The battery lasted all day and into the evening although the volume was nowhere near maxed.
I had no problems syncing the Bluetooth to my iPhone. It’s a great little speaker and excellent value, I’d recommend this to anyone looking for a Bluetooth speaker.

My Tribit Stormbox arrived today, after purchase on promotion.
Initial thoughts are all positive, it’s solid and well made. A sound comparison with my aging Bose Soundlink Mini showed some deficiency in clarity and bass, even with the X button pressed.
It’s not a fair comparison though, as the Tribit is less than a third of the price and is way more suitable for the beach or pool area.
One pleasant surprise is that these now have a usb-C power connection. I was expecting usb-micro.

I got 2 of these, and they work fantastic for watching films. I got a Left/Right Aux splitter so these work as stereo speakers too in that setup.

After a years use, 1 of the speakers has stopped working, it no longer charges (broken port or blown fuse?). Seeing what Tribit can do for me. Overall decent speakers, but would expect better durability…which is hard to find in most electronics on marke

Soooo pleased with this bluetooth speaker. I take it everywhere with me. Its a must for garden working/ socialising. Speaker output and audio quality exceeded my expectations. Reliable bluetooth connectivity. Full battery charge lasts me about 1.5 days with frequent use. Option to enhance bass output is welcomed for those music tracks where you really just need to shake the room! Would highly recommend.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersGreat little speaker, but after 6 months of daily use in my office I decided to take it home and play some music in the pool. It lasted about 5 seconds and that was the end of it. Definitely not waterproof, hoping to get it replaced under warranty.

Edit – I emailed Tribit support and within 3 working days they had sent out a replacement and don’t require the faulty one back.

Brought this after doing a lot of research into speakers. I really wanted this to replace my trusty old ADX speaker as my wife and I wanted something to take on holiday to our Villa. Needless to say the reviews for this speaker are on point, it sounds immense and im so glad I never paid more for something than I needed to. The sound is crisp bassy and can fill a huge area. We had it on round our pool and it sounded better than the in built sound system the Villa provided. Te speaker lasts for ages as well on a full charge ,we had it on for hours and hours and only needed to charge it after 4 days. For the money I doubt you can get any better than this, my son has a JBL flip and personally I found this to be a better sound.

I bought both this and the anker soundcore boost as they were the same price and I wanted to compare, the anker definitely has more bass and depth where as the tribit sounded tinnier, pros to the tribit it has longer battery life but I love my house music so had to be the anker for me

I use this on the beach weekly. It gets sand in there, salt deposits from the water and the battery doesn’t get charged that often. The sound is loud enough for what you need and you can chain link (albeit I haven’t done this) for more volume. I reckon it wont be long before I get another one to match the current unit.

  36. JocelynLapointe says:

Very very impressed with the sound quality from this little device. I have several high end HiFi systems in my home and have been chasing good sound for a long time. This speaker has a very impressive sound quality and a genuine 360 degree sound distribution of sound. It is easy to get good sound and the unit is very tollerent of where it is positioned. It will distort if turned up high enough but at that point it is already surprisingly loud and probably louder than most people will turn it up to. It will fill a normal home sized room with good sound. I was expecting the Bass Boost to be overkill but it is perfect and I leave it on all the time.

If this gets lost or stolen, I will instantly buy another.

Perfect for using outdoors and fits into a bottle holder or backpack drink pocket.

Unit turns off when not being used. Can’t comment on battery life yet but no issues so far.

Sound comparison with decent 2006 Pioneer set up – very little difference. Like this a lot and the amount of depth is really good. Range from phone is also impressive. From my husband who has always been a massive advocate of old school records, amps, speakers of various types, this has been quite a revelation. Excellent for the garden too. Even if you’ve not checked it out and looked at other comparison/reviews (not just Amazon), for the price, it’s well worth a punt.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThis is my second Tribit speaker, the first one is slightly different to this and used in the bathroom, and I was going to get the same model again, however this version whilst the same price, looks really really cool. Main use will be for when I’m away using my Korg Wavestate and Roland Verse Labs, I have studio speakers but this is just convenient when I just want to play and mess round without turning the entire studio eqip on. Mine is linked via 3.5mm cable. And I purchased of another website a usb power lead with a switch, that way I can use it whilst plugged in.. The X bass is ok…hardly makes a big difference, but overall a solid speaker, packaging was very nice too.. Good high tones, lastly this has a power indicator on it, my other Tribit doesnt so big ++ for that.

Plenty of power but seems to over amplify some of the higher end and bass, leaving the mid range a little ‘lost’. Was able to correct sound with and equiliser on streaming platform but out the box it was hard to hear vocals clearly and the high end was distracting/annoying

I’ve had this for a year now and it’s been great. Very good battery life, excellent build quality and very good sound. It really does produce an impressively big sound for the size and price of the speaker. Being ultra-picky, the sound is a touch bright with not much midrange, but with decent bass (again relative to it’s size). The soundstage is also quite impressive as it’s actually a stereo speaker with the left and right speakers on the sides, meaning you have to use it in the vertical position as seen in the pictures.

One thing I’d like to see improved is that you can only see the battery level when you first switch the speaker on (it uses 4 LEDs to indicate how much charge is remaining). It would be great if a short press on the power button briefly flashed up the battery level LEDs again.

Overall an excellent device which outperforms speakers twice it’s price!

The stormbox is in my opinion the best in class for this price range, the Xbass option should always be turned on as this really enhances the listening experience and delivers satisfactory bass for a speaker this size. The tribit team was also extremely helpful in sorting out issues with the original product and swiftly sent another one within 2 days. Will definitely look into tribit for my future purchases as well. One issue I still have with after the replacement is that when I link my speaker with my friends and when playing stereo audio, when its my speaker’s side for example left, only the left side of my speaker would play audio instead of the whole thing.

I’ve owned ‘Jam Classic & Heavy’, ‘Anker’, Juice Boom Pro’ & JBL Flip & this speaker puts them to shame. The build quality is good as is the design & functionality. Comes with an ‘Aux’ port however no aux cable (I recommend ‘Eono’ Braided Aux Cable’ 4.45). The best 49.99 I’ve spent in a long time.

I’ve been considering getting a bluetooth speaker for some time, but most of the ones I heard sounded rather muffled and/or too bright. Much of my listening is classical, jazz and blues, and my “sound” preference is for warmth, depth and fullness. The Tribit Stormbox meets this criteria; I am delighted with the product – it not only looks good, but has heft and represents excellent value for money. i will get another one to daisy chain and get an even more involving sound.

I am dance teacher and teach in multiple locations. I was fed up carrying my heavy stereo everywhere and wanted something smaller and more lightweight but still has good volume. I really wanted the ultimate ears speaker but couldn’t afford it, so thought I’d take a risk on this, especially as it had a 10 off voucher at the time. I’m so glad I did. It’s amazing! I can’t believe such a big sound comes out of such a small speaker.

All that said, it’s bass’y, reliable, looks speak and has both a good changer and waterproof function. Happy.

Love this speaker. Had it a while now and use it loads. The sounds quality is fine for me at higher volume the bass fades a bit in relation to the rest of the music but nothing too bad. Maybe if you always listen to music at full volume it would annoy you!!!

So after an extensive amount of research on small-mid bluetooth speaker I was between JBL Flip or the UE Boom! However, after randomly coming across this Brand and speaker I was shocked by the YouTube reviews… why would you pay more when this speaker and the bigger brother is just as good, if not better in many cases and almost 1/2 the price… honestly this speaker packs a punch and incredibly for the price of 1 bigger branded name you can get 2 amazing quality speakers. Don’t waste your money and buy this, honestly they are brilliant for the size and cost.

Bought two in November 2020, really like the sound – good bass (always keep the booster on), easy setup too. Unfortunately one of the charging ports stopped working but Tribit were great in sending out a new one free of charge, and they did this quickly.
Marked as 4 star due to the charging issue – I have have done 4.5 but unable to. Thanks 🙂

A friend had this speaker, so I asked him where he purchased it as I was very impressed with it. Since purchasing it I have enjoyed these speakers. The sound quality and the clarity is fantastic and whilst some people said the XBASS feature doesn’t enhance the sound, I disagree as it does give it more depth, punch and richness, I think it just depends on the production of the track you’re listening to.

The only minor issue I have with the speaker is it doesn’t always give you enough time to alert you the battery is low. An audible warning is given stating “battery low” but often it isn’t enough time to put the speaker on charger before it switches off, however this is only a very minor gripe.

My original speaker which I purchased in September 2020 unfortunately developed a fault. After Tribit attempted to diagnose the fault over email, it was without success. However they replaced the product within a matter of days (it had an 18 month warranty) without any hassle demonstrating their customer service is first class.

I have recommended this speaker to friends and colleagues as it’s a brilliant product and is excellent value for money.

We have really struggled to find a way for an elderly relative to enjoy watching TV without having the sound turned up to maximum volume – all the other parts of the soundtrack being super loud, but the voices still not clear enough for them to be understood. This bluetooth speaker has been a game changer. Switch it on, place it on a side table near the elderly relative and bingo. Even characters with annoying mumbles or whispers can be heard clearly. Plus any music or other audio during a film sounds great.

For such a small package, this speaker really does deliver on all fronts, especially sound. The sound quality & volume are just incredible! I imagine that if you buy two of these, then that’s all the surround sound you’d need. The Bluetooth pairing is quick & easy & you also have an AUX-IN socket in case you don’t want to or can’t use Bluetooth. The speaker is also extremely well built & feels solid. Battery life is excellent too. A great all-round speaker that hits all the right notes (pun intended). All in all, how they’ve managed to produce this amazing speaker for such a relatively low price is beyond me. Absolutely superb! Very highly recommended.

I absolutely love this speaker. I can’t compare it to the more expensive units on the market because I’ve never used them. But I have to say that I was very pleasantly surprised by the quality of the sound. On a moderate sound level the battery will last all day. It has a heavy quality feel to it and it’s water proof, when it gets dirty or dusty i just wash it under the tap (make sure that the sealing plug is properly installed before you do this)
For me a great quality to price ratio

I first heard this product at a church service and was surprised to learn that it was not connected to the building’s sound system but was “broadcasting” on its own. It has a really impressive sound output for its size. I bought one through Amazon to replace the mains wired sound dock I had hard wired to my iPad. The iPad is now connected by Bluetooth to the Tribit which makes it much easier to take from room to room and the inbuilt rechargeable battery makes this movement even easier.
    Great value.

This little speaker packs a good punch in terms of sound/build quality and value for money. I previously bought the Tribit headphones and was so impressed that when I needed a speaker for my home office this brand was already a shoe in. The build quality of their items is very good and at very good prices. The headphones were around 35 when I got them – an absolute steal. This speaker a bit more of an investment but I see it as having multiple uses. Daily at my home office, in the garden as it’s waterproof and for camping/beach trips. I have even considered wiring up to the tv through the AUX to give my tv some bass! The battery life is around 20 hours which is great, maybe a bit unfair to compare to the headphones which I literally charge in a blue moon. But overall very, very good product. I would thoroughly recommend. I had considered buying a second as I’d read can be used as stereo pair but honestly one is enough to fill a room suitably. Love Tribit, I just wish I had an excuse to buy more of their products!!

It doesn’t match up to a mains powered speaker, it’s not going to at this price. However it’s a significant step up from my 400 mobile sound in both quality and volume. Plus it’s portable and water resistant.

If you’re looking for something to sit in your lounge the whole time, consider something mains powered. If you’re looking for something to take from room-to-room, the garden, the beach etc, this is great.

Having used many portable speakers this by far has to be one of the best for the price range. It has a rich bass and hold up with high and low frequencies quite well. Their is barely any noticeable distortion when maxing the speaker out and is quite easy to connect to, the function buttons are easy to use and the overall build quality is fairly decent. The speaker has a battery life indicator which is quite useful when out and about.

The only downside to the speaker is htat it uses microUSB which in my opinion is quite an annoying and obsolete connector. Would have liked to of seen USB Type-C.

But overall if you want a decent quality sounding portable speaker with decent bass and easy connectivity for a cheap price I would highly recommend it.

Having had a number of portable speakers over the years I was slightly dubious that this would live up to my expectations. However, I am being totally honest when I say this is the most incredible portable speaker I have ever owned. I wanted it primarily to pair with my Fire stick which it did with ease. The result is music and radio broadcasts which are clear, crisp and without any apparent lag in transmission. The unit is neat and well made and feels robust enough to take knocks and rough handling ( young children). I think we will be ordering more of these in time as it is already being eyeballed by my 11 year old son.

Golden Review Award: 19 From Our UsersI have worked in professional broadcast audio including developing active studio monitor loudspeakers during my career so I have a good idea of what sounds OK and what compromises to expect with portable Bluetooth speakers.

I have tried several of the usual options in my search for a half-decent sub-100 Bluetooth speaker, including the Anker Soundcore models, UE Boom 2 and several other generic models all around the same price point. Of these the UE Boom wins hands down for overall sound quality, battery life and ease of reliable Bluetooth connectivity – until now; all the above models have been displaced from my regular portable listening duties by the Tribit StormBox.. In sound quality terms it is a step up from the UE Boom 2 for bass extension and overall dynamics, even using the UE Boom phone app to optimize the frequency balance of that speaker, and without using the Tribit extra bass option on the Tribit. The Tribit battery life also seems excellent, along with very reliable/predictable Bluetooth connectivity.

I’m so impressed with the Tribit I’m giving away my UE Boom 2 and have just ordered another pair of Tribit Stormboxes for the kids as Christmas presents… will be interesting to see how well they perform when linked together in a pair once they are allowed to open their presents on Christmas day

One final tip – you can save 20 if you order direct from Tribit uk website where you can get a pair for 100 in the special bundle offer; they are still fulfilled by Amazon so they arrived within 2-3 days – not sure why this pair bundle is not available direct on Amazon uk.

Only slight criticism would be for Tribit to release a phone companion app to allow battery level check etc, as per the UE Boom app allows.

This is the second TRIBIT I have bought. The first one being a MAXSOUND PLUS which is just as good sound as the StormBox. It is however 360 degrees of sound and also you can run 2 together to obtain a wider spread. I am not sure you would get true stereo but I am sure it will sound good. I can not, for the price praise the sound quality enough. It is powerfull and just sounds great for the size. You can buy one with the confidence that you are getting a superb piece of kit and a custumer back up service from Tribit second to none.

I bought one for myself and was so impressed that I have bought another for my mum. Sound quality is superlative. The manufacture is strong and the adjustments are easy. I like simplicity and the product does what it sets out to do, produce a fine sound experience. It had great bass depth without sacrificing the higher registers. Price and sound quality make this the best speaker, and after a couple of underwhelming purchases I made in the past I feel at last like I received value or money. One niggle, just wish recharge cable was a little longer, but that’s such a minor issue.

Only just bought this speaker, but up to now a very good speaker. I have bought eboom, Bose, jbl, and a couple of obscure makes in the past. This speaker has a very good base and good vocals. Also very good on low sound. This is an American company in California but I think like anything else they make them in China for cost cutting. I would say that the jbl charge 3 takes it for me on clarity of vocals. But for 50 quid (discount) now 59. This speaker is not to be sniffed at. Fills a medium sized room no problem. Very solidly made. So many speakers on the market at this moment in time, sometimes you can only go on reviews as I did with this tribit. Bought another one for my daughter for Xmas. I will update in 6 months this review.

Good sound from small piece of magic.

Having never had a portable speaker before I wasn’t quite sure what to expect in terms of quality and sound. I’m not disappointed in this speaker, infact I think I’m in love with it. Today I have managed to drive all my adult children out of what they call bedrooms into doing something productive just by walking around the house doing chores and taking my music with me. Normally they are used to me wearing headphones and doing the same chores and not disturbing them. Not today……. Going from room to room there was no loss of quality whilst streaming from my phone, the sound quality was good and worked well with several different genres of music. Even having the speaker on as loud as I could there was no reduction is quality and I would say that its so good if I had neighbours I’m sure they would have complained about the sound level. As for me, this will be coming everywhere with me on my travels, and I’m also considering a second one for when the house renovations are complete and I can actually have a working study again.

I will try and add a photo later but I love this piece of kit. Bluetooth set up is easy. Sound quality brilliant and range superb. I often play music from my phone in the garden when people are around but hide it in some shrubs a distance away to create an ambient sound which doesn’t interfere with conversation. I have forgotten to bring it in at night but the next day it works again without a problem. I generally move it with me from garage to front or rear gardens, I love it. Battery life is excellent and at the moment better than I was expecting although I guess it will degrade with time and age.
All in all a fabulous product I happily recommend without hesitation.

Overall, its a good portable speaker but the sound is not as great as i was expecting; i think a lot of the reviews on here raised my expectation levels too high.
Its a good option and you basically get what you pay for! I cant go as far as saying the sound is crisp in comparison to a JBL or a BOOM. The overall quality is good.
Cant have a low volume though, there is a big jump from volume level 1 to level 2! A bit annoying…

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersAs a bluetooth speaker this is good. Easy to use, easy to connect to our phones, decent range and good sound quality. Feels substantial with good build quality and battery life appears good.

Couple of things to note: item description says “Easy Alexa Access”, “Echo products”, “do everything Alexa can do”. However sadly that is not the case as it does not connect with the Echo speaker and you cannot ask the speaker to play music etc.

I have been assured that this works better with the echo dot however we do not have an echo dot to try. When I queried with their customer service team they answered all my emails and went out of there way to get my customer satisfaction.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI bought this to use in an old car with no stereo. Works great. Car is fairly loud but i can still hear this speaker over the engine.
I do also use it indoors as well.
Sound quality is very good in both situations.
When compared to a jbl flip 4, sound wise, i felt this was a little more rounded, which i prefer. The jbl flip 4 was a little heavier on higher frequencies, especially when volume is higher. I felt the flip 4 was a little harsh at peak volume but this was less so. Also, with the offset drivers in this, the sound is dispersed differently. I prefer it as wherever you point it, you get your music and it is consistent. Not louder in any particular spot.
For the price, this really is a great speaker. It boasts similar features to market leading speakers for a lot less.
It feels sturdy and well built.
I have not needed to test the waterproof functionality at this point.
The battery life is amazing! I’ve only had to charge it a couple of times so far.
Using as a hands free in my old car worked great as well. I have used other speakers that were muffled and the other person had issues hearing me. This was not crystal clear as i was using in the car, but it was much better than what i had used before.
If this were lost or damaged, i would replace it like-for-like.
If you want the brand name, get the jbl flip 4. That’s a great speaker. This one is just as good, just doesn’t have the leading brand name or price tag.
With this speaker, you can only connect 2 together, whereas with later jbl, you can connect more. But you don’t need an app with this.
Connectivity is easy and solid. No drops in signal as yet and it connects quickly every time i use it.

Arrived promptly, nicely packaged. Arrived about 70% charged, I have used it a lot so far and the best trait of this speaker is definitely the portability. It is very light and the loop works well and makes it easy to attach to a backpack for example. The sound quality is very good for the price and I like the xtra bass button, but does not have much of an effect at high volumes. Good volume, very rugged, I have already brought this speaker to the beach and it survived the sand perfectly. Battery life is quite good for the price. Only negative was the charging port is behind a very hard to remove seal (makes sense as it is IPX7 waterproof) but does sometimes take a minute or two to lever it out but not enough of an annoyance to remove a star so well done tribit 5 stars from me!

Golden Review Award: 10 From Our UsersThis little speaker is exceptional. It packs a warm, rounded sound with enough passive bass to fill most genres of music you might care to play. Good highs and mids until the volume is maxed out, but using these outdoors in a busy garden we still don’t need them at full volume.

Excellent battery life; often 8-10 hours of usage via bluetooth streaming, and fast recharge times, around 1.5hrs from empty.

Portability is brilliant and they are rugged enough for us not to worry where we place them, often hung from a tree in the garden using the sturdy loop included and attached. We use them all around the house and having a good quality sound source as portable as the Stormbox/MaxBoom has proved more useful and pleasing than we imagined.

Connection via Bluetooth is good but one star deducted here as the range is sometimes reduced by obstacles you wouldn’t expect to interfere. We see 8-10m outdoors but perhaps 3-4m inside.

Customer support from Tribit is excellent and our query was answered quickly with a replacement unit posted to us without issue.

All up a brilliant speaker at 50 vs. the competition. We have owned and used for 9 months and are very satisfied with the purchase. Simply brilliant.

Excellent portable sound, superb customer support.

I bought two of these speakers so I could pair them for a wider sound, after watching many YouTube reviews about them and reading all the glowing Amazon reviews I thought it’d give them a go.
Amazing little boomers with a big sound for the little cuties that they are, good across Bass, mid and treble with a balanced sound and even cranked up they don’t distort!
You won’t achieve sub Bass as the frequency range starts from 70hz but you will be surprised how well they handle certain dance music tracks with punch.
I played some noisia dnb and was taken back by the power they kick out.
Bare in mind that if you like music loud all the time that your battery life won’t last the advertised 20hrs but more like 5-6 which is still reasonable for most occasions, I’ll be buying a battery pack to give me the extra time when out and about.
Customer service is second to none which is a big plus when buying anything for peace of mind.
These little beasts will be the next big name in bt speakers and are already better than the jbl and ue rivals being half the price and noticeably better in sound. Gwaaan !

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI’ve been using a Soundcore mini at home since it did the job I needed and is so small and can take it with you in any part of the house.

However, as soon as I turned the StormBox on I regretted not making the switch before. The sound coming out of this speaker is great and I started listening to parts of music and instrument I was not hearing before with normal speakers. It definitely makes listening to music more fun. Did I say it gets loud? It gets loud.

Absolutely recommend this product. Great value for money so far (3 weeks in) and similar features as more expensive (and overpriced) brands that I’m not going to UltimatEly mention here.
Battery life is decent. At 50% it lasts a whole day.

I hope the speaker will last for long…

As this was my first purchase of a Bluetooth speaker I read multiple reviews before making a decision. Battery life and richness of sound were my deciding factors and as these were mentioned in a positive light in many other reviews, I decided on the Tribit Maxboom. I have not been disappointed with any aspect of this speaker. Although slightly more expensive than some of the competition I believe you get what you pay for. The speaker arrived with half charge thus enabling me to easily connect to my mobile device and give it a sound test. I expected a slightly tinny sound as the speaker isn’t very big but how wrong could I have been. The sound is excellent and switching the Xtra Bass button really gives it a boost. The 360 degree sound output is also really good. We now hang the speaker under our outdoor parasol and the music is just as good from any seat. Range is also excellent from the mobile device. This speaker is suitable for all genres of music as it has effortlessly played from Lady Gaga to Hawkwind. Volume is enough for any gathering with no distortion noted when maxed out. It charged very quickly and I haven’t had to recharge yet. The 4 charge level indicator lights don’t stay on but pressing any other button, (volume up/ down) and they illuminate briefly to give you an idea of charge remaining. I’m so impressed with this speaker that I will be buying another one to pair with the original for that extra depth of sound in the garde

First, I bought my 2 x Tribit StormBox speakers to enhance the sound from both my TV and music system, and so not interested in the speakers portability, battery life or bluetooth capabilities.

But the music they reproduce is detailed, clear, has a good mid-range with a very nice top end. But when I activated the bass boost I found the extra bass, to my ears, sounded somewhat artificial so I don’t use that feature.

However, I do love the sound that my 2 x Tribit SB’s produce, so much so that I find that I am now involuntarily bopping to dance-type music and hearing/feeling the emotions in love songs. If I could describe what I’m hearing as food, I would say it’s like eating my favourite dessert with an extra sprinkling of sugar on top.

Nevertheless, I found a flaw in the Tribit SoundBox speakers, when playing music while being charged the speakers will start to emit a low level frying sound that steadily increases in volume until it suddenly changes to an annoyingly very loud whistling. This noise will last for 10 or so minutes, stop for 10 minutes and then start all over again .

So, as long as the Tribit SB’s are disconnected from the mains while playing, they behave and reproduce beautiful sounds.

If not for this flaw, I would have given this product 5 stars across the board.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI have had this speaker for just over a week now and I have to say that I am impressed by both the sound and build quality.
It feels like a quality piece of equipment, far more expensive than the actual price paid.
The sound quality is excellent too, with very little extortion even when on full volume. The only thing negative I have to say about the sound quality is that the bass boost button does not boost the bass very much more than normal, but thankfully having bass speakers at each end, it already has enough bass for what I need.
So far the battery has lasted well, but I have not really used it for more than 9 hours at a time.
I have to say that this is a great buy for the price. I have splashed out and bought a case off Amazon to keep it looking good whilst in transit.

My previous bluetooth speaker was UE WONDERBOOM,so i compare Stormbox with it .I was stick to it,because i loved those huge UE buttons and overall quality. But this buddy here is much better in any aspect.Sound is deeper ,bass is much more when enabled XBass function, but even with turned off it is still more.360 degree sound is amazing, and the overall power is enought to fill medium room. The quality seems the same like big brands give to us.The material is fine, non slicky, very nice touch of the buttons and the weight is not a problem here – it is very light and easy to bring it with you everywhere. Usually i sell my things often, but i will keep this speaker for a long time.Go ahead and order ! You will be happily surprised, for sure!

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI brought this for my 15 year old son’s birthday. He was sharing my Tribit X sound Go so i thought Stormbox would be perfect present. He did ask for Anker Soundcore Motion+ for Christmas after Oluv’s reviews on You Tube but unfortunately we need to return it as it was very flat without bass and in my opinion not all genres need bass function also we did not bother to EQ optimisation as oluv suggested. So what can i say about Stormbox it ticked all the boxes and it’s just simple to use with powerful sound and without any need for EQ optimisation. So my son says “MUM Knows Best”. Its a real gem and takes the socks of big beasts of Bluetooth speakers in the market.

Very impressed with this little unit from the first hearing. Purchased primarily as a speaker for the kitchen, but will likely use when out and about as well. Very pleasantly surprised by the spacey volume even at low levels, together with the clarity and balance between bass, mid and treble. Bass more than adequate for me across a range of musical styles without any intrusive boom or distortion. Impressive soundstage and accurate reproduction of detail that I’d actually missed when relayed through other sources. Connected quickly and effortlessly via bluetooth to a laptop and through an aux input from a Fiio DAP. Satisfyingly weighty and a cool, visually unobtrusive presence. A sound investment, Very highly recommended at this price, plus the confidence of an extendable guarantee. What, literally, is there not to like?

This is a great speaker. The sound is excellent: very clear with warm, full bass, and the build quality is very good. I’m pretty sure it competes with better known brands which would cost a fair bit more. But what has really impressed me is the fantastic customer service I’ve received after my purchase. I had a slight issue with the battery indicator lights on the unit I bought that developed after I received it. After contacting Tribit, they immediately tried to resolve the problem, quickly deciding to replace the entire speaker at no cost to me. In all my contact with them they were extremely professional, efficient and a pleasure to deal with. I only wish more companies could follow their example, as this is the way to retain loyal customers. I would not hesitate to recommend this speaker or this company to anyone.

I did quite alot of research and comparisons before I eventually purchased this speaker and now it’s arrived it hasn’t disappointed me. It’s a great speaker, a little heavier than I was expecting but other than that it’s absolutely perfect. The build is not flimsy but sturdy and is extremely well put together. It doesn’t have anything that makes me think it could have been done any better. The 3 large buttons on the front of the speaker is very simple to use / navigate. I was able to pair it with my phone and ipod with ease. It’s sound can definitely be heard 360 degrees and the sound quality is fantastic. Even when it’s on the loudest volume setting, it doesn’t distort and sounds crisp and clear.

I purchased this speaker for just under 48 and so far it’s been worth every penny and I’m looking forward to using it on holiday. This may not be a Bose or any other high end speaker but the sound is just a great. Try it, you won’t be disappointed.

Having tried the UE Boom 2, JBL Flip, and various Azatom bluetooth speakers (AVOID Azatom), I can honestly say this is by far the best speaker I have ever used. Fantastic clear sound, excellent bass and treble. Voice clarity when playing vocal tracks even at really high volumes is just flawless. I’ve just come from my daughter’s house where she has the JBL Extreme 2 speaker at almost 4 times the price of this Tribit Stormbox and I honestly cannot detect an iota of difference in sound quality. I was really staggered when I first connected the Tribit at the sound quality. Great separation of different sounds to give a truly 360 degree effect. I still have to check on battery life as I haven’t yet had the chance of a full recharge to see how long it lasts. So far I’ve had several 1 hour sessions in my home gym and it still shows 2 lights on the remaining battery life. Definitely worth the money. I may be tempted to buy a 2nd to try out the stereo effect.

To start off with the sound, it is a powerful little speaker enough for a medium size living room and hanging out at the park. Great Definition and depth to the sound, with exceptional bass for its size. For any distance longer than 10cm from your ear, sound is 360. There are no connectivity issues, bluetooth is really fast in connecting and the “beeps” and sounds it makes once you’ve reached max volume or connected are kept to a minimum. Great battery life. I listen to music through it all day and use it as a speaker to watch movies. With heavy and loud use it might last me 3-4 days without a charge. Only thing that annoys me a bit is it turns off a bit too fast for my likes when no music or sound is played through.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersI read a lot of reviews before buying this and toyed with the idea of the Bose. In the end I went for the Tribit and not regretted it. My friend has a Bose and he was very impressed with this device as were a few friends who’ve also listened to it. My car doesn’t have a stereo I can plug my phone into, so this sits on the dash and connects easily to my iPhone. Only wish Apple allowed easier transfer of songs onto my phone. I have tried watching a film on my iPad with this acting as the sound source and there is (not the fault of Tribit) a small but noticeable lag. But if you’re not worried about perfect lip sinc it does the job well. Don’t hesitate… trust the good reviews.

Golden Review Award: 44 From Our UsersAfter my Jam Heavy Metal speaker packed in and refused to charge I wanted something a bit more rugged. The Heavy Metal looked and felt tough, but the power button was always being activated in my bag, and internal quality was obviously not on the same level as the external having only lived two years.

I am so glad I did my research as I was considering a JBL Flip 5 at twice the price of this speaker! This Xboom is fantastic. It easily beats the Heavy Metal for bass and clarity at all volumes. Please check the numerous YouTube comparisons between this and the JBL flip speakers. Even if you think the JBL is slightly better (it isn’t IMO) it definitely doesn’t justify the double cost, unless you REALLY want to pair up 100 speakers. The Xboom is limited to two.

I have run it all weekend at medium volume with bass boost on and it is still on it’s first charge with two lights remaining. The power button is recessed and needs a good squeeze to activate, so I can confidently chuck this into my backpack without worry it’ll activate. The end bass radiators seem tough enough to not need a case as long as you are careful how you pack.

The only minor complaint I have is that there is no way to check the battery level without turning it off and on again. There is nothing in the instruction manual about any button press combo that will light those up again after first power on. I wont know any stars off for this as it’s a very minor issue, and I know from testing that I simply don’t need to worry about battery level for an entire weekend away.

    Buy with confidence.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersI rarely if ever write reviews, but I received such excellent customer service from Tribit it is worth mentioning.
I bought my Tribit speaker in May of this year, unfortunately about a week ago, I realised that the speaker was no longer charging. I messaged Tribit to report this, and they suggested using another charging cable, and if this worked, the speaker was not the problem, but the charging cable was. I tried their solution, and it was the charging cable.
While they had wanted to send me a new cable, based on where I live, they were unable to send just a cable, so they sent me a whole new speaker?!!! and cable of course.
    Who does that?
This was above and beyond excellent customer service, and I felt that a new speaker deserved a review.
I have taken out 1 star because I had a problem in the first place

Golden Review Award: 22 From Our UsersI originally bought a xsound go 12w speaker from Tribit for travelling and was so impressed by the sound and quality I wanted the same thing but bigger and ‘better’ for home. I bought the Anker Soundcore Boost based on its reviews and while driving or in certain conditions i found the Anker too dull and muddy to enjoy – i left it in capetown and decided to buy tribit’s Maxsound and this Xboom to replace the Anker and to compare the two big brothers from tribit. I thought i was going to be wowed by the Maxsound seeing as it’s the newest product, imagining it to be a bigger fatter meatier xsound go, but it was sadly tinny and sibilant and a waste of time in comparison when i heard this Xboom’s rich full sound at all volumes. It’s not thumping sound, but its excellent and fulfills highest expectations for a speaker this size. The bass can fill a small room and It has a long range, hi-fi quality and it makes me damn happy. Go for it!

Update: Since my initial review below I have received a replacement which has been working perfectly. Overall I’m very pleased with the speaker and I think it’s very good value for the cost.

The battery was completely dead when it arrived which is a bit worrying as far as quality control goes. It works from an external power source so I have listen to it to see if it’s worth keeping. The sound is good and fills a 4m x 5m room and is good at the bottom and top ends but a bit thin in the middle range. I’ve compared it’s to a Boom 2 and a Meagboom that is a couple of years old. The overall sound is much better than the Boom 2 apart from the aforementioned middle range. The Megaboom has a much bigger sound but it is a much bigger, heavier speaker. The build quality is good and it feels rugged enough to survive a few knocks but I would worry about throwing it in the bottom of a bag because of the exposed speakers in the ends. Overall I think it’s value for money, as long as there are no more QC issues, and I’m planning to exchange the dead one.

Golden Review Award: 11 From Our UsersIn my work environment, several of the guys are using Bluetooth speakers with their company iPads and I thought I’d like to do the same. But some of these speakers sounded a bit tinny or distorted at higher volumes and so I did a bit of research to find a reasonably priced one that is durable and with a good bass sound.

I decided on the Tribit Maxboom and I wasn’t disappointed! Even without the XBass Boost selected the music has a really full and rich bass tone but without losing any of the treble and mid-range quality either. I’m really impressed by the quality of sound that comes out of this small, almost pocket sized speaker! Also, the sound is multi-directional through 360 degrees so you don’t need to keep turning it round to where the people are. I also like that you can answer calls on your phone through the speaker if you wish, or mute them.

It also looks well made with quality materials and amazingly, is fully waterproof, so ideal for the beach, pool or garden. It’s really easy to use and paired readily with my iPhone. I see that they offer an 18 month warranty with an extra 12 months if you register it online. I haven’t tested the durability of the battery but they claim you’ll get 20 hours out of a charge, so that’s good as far as I’m concerned.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersI spent a little while researching my options for the speakers – and this is by far the best for it’s price! It definitely puts up competition for the more expensive speakers. It has all features you may need. Long life, long range Bluetooth, very good audio quality, and more. It has a nice simplistic design and well designed buttons for the ease of use. It isn’t too big, but it still can go very loud, although you may not always need it.
If you are umm-ing and ahh-ing about this product, I would definitely recommend it for almost any situation!

I only discovered one small problem – when you pressed play on music it would start playing about half a second afterwards. This is a very minor problem for most and most people probably wouldn’t even think twice about it. However, if it does matter to you there are a few tutorials online to update the firmware.

Golden Review Award: 23 From Our UsersI’ve had a ueBoom2 box before, which was a bit more expensive, but much worse.
I’ve seen (and heared) the Tribit xBoom at a friend and was blown away. My mind: “I need to buy this thing 🙂 ”

Treble and bass are really well at all possible volumes. Amazingly good, I think!
Only when you turn it very loud, you realize at some point that the bass is taken back, so that nothing oversteering (is it the correct word??). But that is OK.

    To the rear side:
The rubber strap, behind which is the AUX port and the mini-USB port (to charge), can (at least at the beginning) be opened quite difficult. That is not bad, because so everything is a bit better protected from water penetration.

The Powerbutton plays a short (and quiet) melody when turning on and off and shows the current state of charge (4 LEDs of 25% each)
According to the data sheet, it keeps a good 20h and needs 4h to load. I have not yet come out of power in between.

    The x-boom button:
Here you can take the bass back or just give full power

Then of course there is the pairing button with which all sorts of Bluetooth-enabled devices can be paired. Once pressed long and the discovery begins.

    To the front:
    This is kept simple:
3 buttons – Loud, Quiet, and Play / Pause (press once) or continue (quickly press 2x)

    Pro:
    – lightweight
    – stable carrying loop (screwed, no push button!)
    – great sound!
    – Price is great!
    – easy connection to Amazon Alexa (now the Echo Dot sounds like a big one 🙂 )

    Cons:
The only thing that comes to mind here: the top and bottom is open. This means that the speaker could sometimes get damaged if something comes to the swinging covers (whatever that is). Here a small grid might be safer. But I will not remove a star because of that.

The thing is in the office (the room is determined 40 m2) and now runs almost the whole day, at night is loaded and the next day it goes on.
