ClearClick Virtuoso 2.0 (Second Generation) 22MP Film & Slide Scanner with Large 5″ LCD Screen – Convert 35mm, 110, 126 Slides and Negatives to Digital Photos
Got a box of old slides and negatives? Turn your photos into digital format so that you can preserve them and share them with others!
It’s easy with the ClearClick Virtuoso 2.0 (Second Generation) Slide & Negative Scanner. No computer is required to use the scanner, which means no confusing software or drivers. The Virtuoso 2.0 can scan your film to digital photos at a high-quality resolution of 22 megapixels (interpolated).
And with the huge 5″ preview screen, you can see each slide or negative in “real time” before you scan it. When you’re ready to scan, just hit the “OK/Scan” button, and your photo will be scanned and saved onto any SD memory card (NOT INCLUDED) in just 1-2 seconds!
The Virtuoso 2.0 can automatically set the color & brightness of each scan, or you can control it manually by the easy access buttons on top of the scanner.
The scanner works with most common formats of slides, negatives, and film, including 35mm, 110, 126 negatives (both B&W and color) as well as standard 50x50mm slides. The scanner comes with easy “slide-through” film holders, which make it very quick to load your slides & negative strips into the scanner. Adapters for 110 and 126 film are included too.
Once you’ve scanned some photos, you can connect your scanner directly to your TV to view them using any mini-HDMI-to-HDMI cable (not included).
Or easily transfer your scanned photos to your PC or Mac by connecting the scanner to your computer. You can also transfer them by simply removing the SD card (NOT INCLUDED) and inserting it into your computer.

You need 32 GB or less “class 10” or higher card for this machine. I couldn’t locate this information prior to buying & bought the wrong card.
However, this item gets 5 stars because it is easy to use and scans pictures in seconds. I forgot to time myself, which I’d planned to do in order to pass the information to potential customers. Each slide took seconds from loading the slide into the machine and scanning it.
The scan quality is good, I can’t say if professional photographers would agree but the quality supercedes my needs.
You can transfer photos to a computer via USB connection or by SD card. I’ve used USB and the process was very easy and very quick. Again, it took seconds. I found the instruction pamphlet very easy to understand.
I am very pleased with my purchase as my previous nagative & slide scanner was difficult and time consuming. I would definitely recommend this scanner for novice to experienced users of such equipment. I consider this good value for money with excellent results….I just need to find the rest of my negatives…
I bought this after considering it, having had previous film digitizers that failed miserably to do the job. This one is different. Easy to use and fast and efficient within my first hour I had digitized a few hundred negatives. The carriers make it very easy to insert negatives and hold them in position to keep them in focus. The files produced are large enough and clear enough to satisfy. Colour rendition is good but can easily be changed in editing software ( even the simple Preview on a Mac ). I am more than happy with the results and the files produced. Given that this costs more than other digitizers I would say that you get what you pay for and I have no regrets that I bought this one . Worth the money worth the effort and worth considering if you have a large collection of old negatives or slides .
Excellent. Did hundreds of old negs and slides but will not do the plastic thick slides. A pity because it would then be perfect.
This product does exactly what is say it will do. Colour rendition is faithful, resolution is as good as the original. The slide carrier will accept 2×2 mounted slides from the thin Kodachrome cardboard mounts right up to the thick Agfacolour plastic mounts. There is no auto feed but each scan only takes seconds and it is possible to slide mounted slides through the closed mount making for very rapid scanning. The screen is large enough to use as a comfortable slide viewer if necessary. Don’t forget to buy a SD card (24G) to go with it. All in all an excellent bit of kit.
I am pleased with this purchase as it is well made and easy to use. I have scanned 600 35mm slides over the past 2 days and it has been a joy to rediscover so many old memories and easily share them with friends and family. I still have many boxes to go.
I allow the scanner to do its own thing on the default settings and then make any necessary adjustments once photos have been downloaded into Google photo albums. You can set the time stamp for each box of slides but the software does not allow for any dates prior to 1980 which is useless as the vast majority of people will like us have switched to colour prints around the mid 70s. However provided you scan slides in the order taken it is quick and easy to bulk change the year and month in Google photos. The time of each image does not need adjusting as they will appear in the order scanned.
This scanner would appear to be identical in specification and functionality to the Kodak RODFS50 which is currently 55 more expensive on Amazon and probably manufactured in the same Chinese factory. I would recommend avoiding paying the brand name premium.
Once I have scanned all our old slides I shall pass this on to friends and family with collections to digitise.
First of all, it is DOES NOT create 14MP base resolution 35mm images, but 2880 x 4320 = 12.44 million pixels. This should be made clear in the description as the output is some 14% smaller than I expected.
So, why as much as 4 stars? scan-size for scan size with a professional scanner, taking into account the typical lenses and cameras we mostly used in the 1980s and 1990s, the result is actually rather good, just a bit small. The saved file had increased contrast, which is no bad thing as this makes a picture more punchy and sharp. It is easy to use and you can be up and working within minutes. I connected it directly to my PC and was able to copy the pictures to where I wanted, as I wanted.
As with other similar designs, it is much easier just to see what is not a colour negative using such a device.
So, not bad at all, a good purchase at a good price for getting your negs into the digital world.
Note, I have not tried it on other formats yet, such as 110/126, but expect similar comments to be applicable
I didn’t buy this to scan as I have access to a high resolution scanner. I got it to wade through a mountain of negatives dating back 50 years and I am pleasantly surprised since it was only cheap but you just slide the negs through and can find the ones worth scanning properly in seconds.
So other reviews will cover the scan quality of it but it has done exactly the job I wanted it to do. It’s fast.
It’s construction is flimsy, colour balance is mediocre but it’s fairly easy to use. Not too great in my opinion.
Absolutely satisfied with method of enhancing the old slides and consolidating the happy past memories.
a review for the ClearClick Virtuoso 2.0 (Second Generation)… bought with some trepidation after reading reviews of various “budget” negative scanners… this is not the cheapest but is a fantastic piece of kit, well made/solid construction, easy to use and operate – the negative holders are solid and easy to use, the buttons are “chunky” and have reassuring feedback and the SD card slot is well positioned. I used this to help me order a jumble of photos using the negatives to re-order the scanned photos… one unexpected bonus was the number of negatives I found where the photo had not been printed by the developer, some inexplicable (quality and content all ok and not “censored” in any way), and many at the end of the negative roll where the lab equipment clearly could not cope… a fantastic product and can recommend, and i forgot to say a) the large screen is really helpful, and b) the .jpg picture quality is generally very good – some of the .jpgs are better quality than the scans from original photos and it’s clear that the cost/quality of the original film/negative is the key facto
I was able to download all the old slides I found in my dads house going back to the 1950s. Great item and so easy to use.
My father was a dive photographer. When he passed away we found 6 boxes of old slides/negatives. They have all been transferred onto a computer and pen drive, thanks to this wonderful little machine. So many memories can now be viewed easily.
I had a bit of difficulty initially so I contacted the tech bods, via the email address provided. They helpfully guided me to the correct option to select, now I couldn’t be happier. I’ve even started scanning my old negatives.
I had no idea what to expect from this device and was pleasantly surprised. It’s very light weight but works perfectly and gives excellent results both on its own screen and on the TV.
great image size, easily scanned, Great little scanner. Only problem comes when slides are plastic moldings, sometimes too thick to insert. Scan separately.
This is a great scanner, the 5in screen makes it so easy to use. Lovely results. My one gripe is the slide holder, it only lets you do one slide at a time. Other than that I am very pleased with it.
