The handmade wooden chess sets from CRAFLAIR are sustainably sourced from olive trees that no longer produce olives. These olive trees are in most cases between 100 and 200 years old, but can even be up to 1000 years old. Olive wood is one of the hardest woods in the world and is believed worldwide for its unique wood grain.

Very happy with this purchase and if anyone is wondering if it is good quality or not, I can assure you it is solid heavy wood that will last generations. Everyone comments on it and it is a nice chess set to play with.

This chessboard is absolutely stunning and even nicer then the pictures. My husband adores it as his christmas present. It’s a fabulous gift and would highly recommend it. However, the item did arrive damaged in three separate places. Firstly one of the sides of the board was completely detached. Secondly the guide rail of one of the drawers underneath the board was broken fully and detached. Thirdly one leg was split down the middle. I assume this happening during transit. I don’t know how to speak to the seller directly so Iv had to write up my experience this way and hopefully the seller will contact me to arrange a resolution. Again despite the damages during transit overseas it is an absolutely beautiful piece.
What a lovely piece! I didn’t order the base for the chess board but the board and chess pieces are absolutely lovely. It’s a shame that we don’t find these types of high quality handmade wooden chess or checkers boards anymore.
It arrived well wrapped but it had a broken edge, the glue had given way, so l decided to repair it myself which l have done.
Scacchiera tutta in legno di ulivo realizzata egregiamente in modo artigianale in ogni dettaglio, con due cassetti, uno per lato, per riporre gli scacchi.
L’unico appunto che mi sento di fare e per gli scacchi neri verniciati, li avrei preferiti realizzati con un legno scuro di natura, comunque un ottimo prodotto.

This chess board was exactly as I hoped it would be in terms of size weight and quality. It was exactly what I paid for, if not more. The gift was adored by the recipient and i would recommend this as a not only a lovely chess board to play on, but an exquisite piece on the eye.

1) Das Paket war sehr schnell da und vielleicht liegt auch da schon der Hund begraben”. Der eigentliche Karton mit dem Schachbrett war noch in einem weiteren Karton, der halb offen bei mir ankam, weil der einzige Klebestreifen wohl nicht gehalten hat. Mglicherweise ist das aber auch ein Transportproblem von der Post gewesen.
2) Nun zum Schachbrett: Leider war ein Knauf von einer Schublade ab und die Klebestreifen hinterlassen Klebereste auf diesem wunderschnen Holz. Ich habe das Schachbrett trotzdem nicht zurck geschickt, weil ein bisschen Leim das Knaufproblem lst und auch die Klebestreifen-Rckstnde lassen sich entfernen. Ich hoffe die Hndler knnen diese kleinen Fehler beim nchsten Kufer beheben, damit der nchste Versand perfekt wird. Weder die Bilder noch das Video versprechen zu viel. Das Schachbrett ist eine Augenweide! Das Olivenholz ist wunderschn verarbeitet und ich habe trotz der kleinen Mngel den Kauf nicht bereut.
