Excellent product, looks great, nice warm light, Battery life is excellent, we have antiques in our house, and drape these lights over cupboards and old antique chairs and they blend in perfectly, many people think the lanterns are also antique

Unlike most camping lanterns, this is a stylish retro design & looks cosy in my home. The dimmable light is warm toned and pleasant.
I bought it to use less power, & for outages, as it is safer than candles around pets.
It is much more attractive but equally as powerful as other power bank lanterns I’ve seen.

Ya’ll, this lanten arrived more than 9 days than estimated and I was truly greatful.!! It arrived really well packed and it is beautiful! The chrome has no sharp edges! The lanter looks very expensive, i exactl what I wanted. It is lightweight yet well designed and very sturdy. On full, the brightness lights up a whole room, I put mine up high on my bookshelf, but plan to hang it centrally in the room. The insructions are basic, but it is easy to use. It does take ages to recharge fully (and you’ll know it full when the green light stops flashing) especially if used on full brightness for many hours, but it’s a bomb design and I want to buy the white version as well which has dfferent light features. This is a great invesment, I’m so pleased.

Handy light and being cordless it is super convenient. Gives a proper amount of light, infinitely variable between warm and white. Battery lasts for ages between charges. The retro look is a hit with everyone who visits. Price compares well with other portable lights.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersWith the threat of power cuts this winter, I wanted a rechargeable light. This lamp totally fits the bill. It charges reasonably quickly, it’s dimmable and it looks attractive. So far, I’m very happy with my purchase.

I bought this for festival and camping use over the summer, and just using it briefly in the evenings and charging it occasionally did not run out of battery. I then used it in the evenings in the garden as a table lamp, and now use it indoors, very cozy, nice being able to turn the brightness up and down, enough light to eat by, but not to light your path ahead if walking in darkness. I took it round at a festival in the evenings, and it had a lovely ambiance without blinding anyone. It appears sturdy and does not fall over easily, and great just being able to recharge it.

    Just lovely!

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersExcellent lamp!
bought 2 to try out. they have 2 Li-ion 18650 batteries giving 5000 mAh. ( this means in practise they will last for a very long time in use ( we tested one in the evenings ( about 7 hours ) it lasted 3 days = 21 hours!
depends on how bright you choose, ours was more than adequate.
Far better than a typical lamp, because you can easily change the temperature of the light ( we like a candle warm effect ) but you can choose yourself, form cold white to warm.
    and you choose the brightness.
Love the retro lantern design, great idea! looks good, feels good, works great.
Oh and on the white 4 we’ve just bought, the batteries can be replaced too. ( not on the black 2 we first bought, although I’m sure if I wanted ( although you wont need to) I’d just unscrew and replace anyway.
we’ve bought 6 of these same lights now, a 100w solar portable solar panel ( about 150), a 20,000mA power pack ( about 28) to charge them, and we now have lights regardless of power cuts, also able to charge our phones too!
didn’t cost the earth to ensure we can keep the lights on!
SUMMARY: stop scrolling, wasting your precious time and BUY WHILE YOU CAN!
PS: I AM A TECHIE, I HAVE HAD NO COUMMUNICATION WITH THE SELLER. I HAVE NOT BEEN INCENTIVISED IN ANY WAY FOR THIS REVIEW.
When I find a great product worth a review, only then will I spend my precious time to write a review.

When I received the lantern, I initially thought it looked smaller than I thought it would be, but wow does it pack a punch!

It is so bright, actually hurts to look at it’s completely dimmable though and you can set to a comfortable brightness.

Perfect for camping and worth the price for the look and the rechargeable battery

Got this lamp as a gift and absolutely love it. Easy to charge and stays bright for days and days. I use in different rooms and out of doors. I bought myself a second one to have for my granddaughter who likes a small light in her bedroom when she’s staying over.

My favourite things were the two different light colour choices (I’ve seen reviews saying it doesn’t change colour but they need to read the instructions because it does) I love that I can have it so it looks like a paraffin lantern, I love warm candle light. Then the entire lantern is so well made, the rope handle, the wooden imprinted base…. I could keep going. I had this lantern on for 3 evenings on a low glow yet it’s still going and I have no doubt it would last a lot longer. It suits my vintage caravan, it is a touch of class compared to the standard plastic camping lights that would not suit my set up and it’s all round just lovely. Triple happy I bought it, will need to get another. Thanks

Golden Review Award: 16 From Our UsersWhile it’s by no means perfect, at this price it’s good enough that I was happy to buy a second one.

It’s just bright enough, with adjustable colour. At the “red” end of the colour dial, it emits a comforting, warm glow. At full brightness, it’s enough to light a small room — and certainly enough for a tent. At minimum brightness, it’s just a kind of background illumination. It charges from a common USB connection and, when fully charged, will power other small devices. It takes a while to charge, but runs for a good while once it is charged.

All in all, it’s an impressive product at this price. I have a somewhat similar lamp from Littala that cost three hundred quid.

The problem, I guess, is that the Litalla lamp has spoiled me. The Litalla is made of solid metal and real glass; it looks like a traditional mantle lamp, and has exactly the same quality of light. Even the control knob is authentic.

This product, on the other hand, is only superficially traditional. From the distance it looks the part, but it’s made of entirely modern materials. There are a lot of plastic parts — including the mantle — and the “wooden” base is actually made of bamboo. The hemp rope hanger looks kind of odd, in fact, and I’ve replaced mine with paracord, which looks more in keeping with the style of the lamp.

There’s no doubt that the light weight realized by the use of modern materials is an advantage if you have to carry it around, or hang it from a tent ridge. Still, I have a slight aversion to modern things that try to look like old things. To be fair, my Littala lamp is also carrying off a pretence; but it does it so effectively that it doesn’t discomfort me so much.

These complaints are just the result of my compulsive fussiness; probably most people will be happy with the looks (and light weight) of the thing. My small, non-fussy complaint is that you can’t replace the battery without tools. I understand that earlier models had an accessible battery, and I really can’t see how hiding the battery is an improvement. It would be nice to be able to carry spare, charged batteries on trips. It’s still possible, but you’d have to carry a screwdriver as well. It’s a small complaint, I guess, but petty design errors like this annoy me.

All in all, though, I liked it enough to buy another one, so I guess its flaws aren’t show-stoppers.

Golden Review Award: 15 From Our UsersI purchased this lantern for us to use in a log cabin at the bottom of our garden. I really like the look of the lantern and am impressed with how sturdy it looks. It is easy to use, long press for on/ off, short press for change of tone from warm white to cool white. Apologies for poor photography but I hope my picture gives some idea of the space that this lantern can light up, and it wasn’t set at full brightness for this. It ticks all the boxes on my wish list, it is chargeable, dimmable and looks good quality. I love it, and I am so glad I bought it.

This is a really lovely little lantern – smaller than I imagined, and very nicely made, with a stylish, high quality appearance. It can run both from USB charge and from rechargeable lithium batteries, and while it takes several hours to charge fully, it will then last for a couple of days. You have the option of white or yellow light, and you can change the brightness.

My only complaint is that the method for changing the colour and brightness is a little arduous – lots of clicking and turning the wheel at the front, only to find that when you turn it off and back on again, it resets to the original yellow light at the lowest brightness. It would be good if the lamp returned to its last setting when turned back on. Otherwise though, a lovely addition to the garden.

I love this lamp, it holds its charge for a long time and has such choice of brightness or dimness, probably the most i have seen in a lamp of this kind, and it does operate by turning the knob around and around but its well worth it to have such choice means you can have the exact light you want and not have to choose between pre-set brightness or dimness.
It is a quality looking and made nice lamp. I am unsure if it is worth its full asking price as it is fairly steep but it is better than nealry all lamps like this i have tried in the past so if you have the pennies then i would say go for it.
There is also the option to run off of usb charge or 3xAAA batteries so again another good feature.
It arrived in its own little carry box and was on time.
    Overall i would recommend.

Charming retro style lantern supplied in a nice box with a USB lead, a suitable screwdriver and two Lithium Ion batteries that were already slotted into the battery compartment so all ready to go. Easy to charge via USB and you get 75 hours battery so is ideal for setting the scene in the garden. Instructions are clear and easy to follow. Warm and cool light settings. A really chunky and well made piece of kit. I like it!

  64. TrudyT28xonwc says:

I absolutely LOVE this retro style camping lantern and it just looks fab. It comes well packaged in a brown box and inside you get a a USB to USB-C charging cable, a small screwdriver to access the battery box (for when you need batteries) and instructions.

The lamp itself is extremely well made of a vintage black finish plastic with a polished chrome cage, and wooden base. It has a sturdy natural hemp rope handle which adds to the retro feel. There is a metal rotary button that adjusts the brightness and colour temperature of the light of which there are three to choose from. The lamp is rechargeable with a discrete port for the cable on the lower side of the lamp and after it is fully charged (approx 4/5 hours) can last up to 75 hours depending upon usage. It can also work as an emergency power bank for USB items such as phones in a pinch but it will rapidly drain the battery and charges really slowly. Very easy to tell when charge or in need of a charge because a green light will appear and flicker when charging. When using the USB Output charger to charge another device a red light will turn on, and will flicker when the light is almost out of charge.

It is rated IPX4 so will be OK to get wet but with the chrome casing and hemp handle I’d limit exposure as much as possible. Overall a fab lantern whether using camping or simply in the garden in the evening while enjoying the end of a day (or an early morning!) Overall really impressed and would definitely recommend if looking for a retro style lantern.

This lantern is great for any time in the evening, early morning or in a dark room. I’ll probably be using this when going into the loft, but it could be used in the garden, in a shed, hung on the wall – anywhere you require more light!

I did have to contact the seller because the rope handle arrived already frayed, but a quick message and they sent out a brand new one that was very well packaged.

It comes with rechargeable batteries that don’t need to be taken out, but there is a screwdriver supplied in case you need to open the case. It charges fairly fast with the USB adapter and can also be used as a power bank to charge your phone, for example. The light will flash green when it’s being charged and it will be solid red when charging another device (it will flash red when it’s nearly out of charge). The batteries have up to 75 hours which is a pretty good amount.

The lantern is waterproof, which is a must if you like to socialise in the garden (especially during the pandemic). It has a nice dial on the front, but it isn’t very sensitive – if you want to change the intensity of the light, you’ll be spinning it quite a few times! To turn the light on, you’ll need to press the dial in for a second and then let go (same for turning it off). To change between warm and cool lighting, press the dial when the light is on and then spin it. To change the brightness, press the dial again and spin it (if you press it yet again, it’ll go back to the colour temperature setting).

This is perfect for anyone who loves the retro look, or just needs a handheld lantern to light up a room or space!

I really like this and it’s not often I give products 5 stars.

The overall effect of a traditional lantern is pretty good, the one thing being that the main body is plastic, but a decent plastic that feels pretty sturdy. The base has three decent rubber feet with good grip and there is a ring of quite think, laminated strips of bamboo, not just a veneer so I expect this to last well.

It has both a ring at the top (that can be rotated) plus a short rope handle giving you a few options for hanging the lantern plus of course it can be stood on a surface.

    In terms of the electronics:
Two 18650 lithium cells. The battery compartment can be opened with the included screwdriver. These are standard cells that are easily sourced and are user replaceable so if they stop holding their charge you don’t have to throw the lantern away. Very nice to see when everything seems to be disposable nowadays. You could even buy extra cells which could be handy as the lantern has a USB output for charging other devices. I think this is actually a very nice feature and a very cost effective way of storing lots of power if you need to. The power input is via micro-USB, I would have preferred USB-C but not a big deal when this isn’t an every-day charged item.
All controls are via a nicely sized knob on the front. Press and hold about 1-sec for power. Turn for brightness/colour warmth, press to switch between controlling brightness and warmth. The lantern goes from decently low brightness that’s probably friendly on your eyes in the middle of the night to very decently bright. It also goes from very cool (white/slight-blue) to very warm (yellow/orange). Very nice and simple operation. I have to say, at the warmest it goes, it creates a lovely warming hue, you’d be fooled into thinking it gives off heat and probably be tricked into thinking the environment is warmer than it is.

Checking the manual stats a charge time of > 7 hours with battery time of 3.8-75 hours. It also says the product isn’t waterproof. Having a look over the lantern, the USB ports are covered by a rubber flap and most of the lantern seems reasonably well protected except for a gap around the knob. I wouldn’t recommend leaving it out but I’m sure it would be fine with the odd brief exposure.

A really lovely lantern with great features and basically nothing I can find wrong with it.

A really nice looking lantern, it has a really nice retro look of an old storm lantern with a thick rope handle that gives a really nice effect and is good to hold or hang the lantern up.

It has two rechargeable lithium batteries with good battery life, 4 to 75 hours depending on how bright you have the lantern.

The lantern is easy to use , just press and hold the switch to turn on or off , just turn the nob and the lantern slowly gets brighter or dimmer.

The base is plastic but it has a wooden effect that looks really nice , it’s quite lightweight considering its size and is really bright on full brightness.

It’s a really versatile lantern, whether using it for camping or in the garden , it sets a really nice atmosphere on low light , we use it in the garden on the table , it sets a lovely atmosphere and looks really cool.

The plastic surrounding the light looks a bit cheap and spoils it a bit , the metal cage surrounding it though looks really good and solid, it gives it a nice retro look , especially with the rope handle.

I really like it , it works really well and looks great in our garden lighting up our seating area when we are sat out of an evening.

It’s ipx4 waterproof too incase of any unexpected showers.

A cool looking lantern , looks great in the garden.

This is a beautiful lantern and very well made. It has a side use as a power bank but how useful that feature would be I am not sure. However, it comes in a lovely box which would make it a great gift. The materials are of excellent quality and it has it’s own lead and a little screwdriver to remove the battery cover. Ours arrived fully charged so we could try it out at once. We have it under the canopy on the swing seat in the garden and it sheds a lovely warm light over the area, so nice to sit out when the weather allows. It works very simply by pressing and adjusting the silver button on the front. The one thing that did bother me is that the actual bulb inside seems to be loose and I have not figured out a way to get to it as yet but it works nevertheless. I can see that it would be very useful to take camping or in a caravan, not inexpensive but you get what you pay for and the quality of materials is brilliant.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThis is a retro-style lantern for camping or garden. It’s easy to charge via USB, and switches on at the front with a long press on the silver button. Turning the button takes the light from a low warm light to a very bright cool light (you need to turn the button about 4 times to increase the light to maximum.)
It’s not the best looking lamp, and although vaguely retro in style, it’s quite plasticy in the body, with fake wood at the bottom. But for camping, or to sit on your table outside in the garden when it;s getting dark, it does the job well.

it can also be used as a power bank in an emergency.

I like the fact that is is rechargeable, and even comes with a small, rather handy, screwdriver to get to the battery compartment – even though you shouldn’t have to do this very often (if you use it a lot it would probably be wise to change the batteries once a year).

To sum up: it’s not the best looking light you could buy, but it works well, and I look forward to spending many a summer evening sitting reading, eating and drinking by it’s light.

I hope you found my review helpful.

This is a Rechargeable Camping LED Retro Lantern, which is beautifully made.
It just looks like a real one with a soft and pretty jut handle. It might seem weird but I like the jut handle most.
It came in a nice box which was inside an amazon cardboard box with protection papers.
The box has a manual and one cable to charge and a screwdriver to open it up and see the batteries.

I did not open it. I put that on charge the lamp has three modes.
It is 3.5 Volt with 5000 mili Amphear hour capacity and that is a good one for a lantern and the battery definitely will last longer. It has two cylindrical lithium-ion cells.

Light has three modes very easy to use and the battery can be charged by the laptop as well.
I actually got this to use in a tent in our garden and have a nice time there just to pretend to be camping.
I like everything about this lamp and very happy I got to review that. It is worth the money.

    Love it.

This lantern comes well boxed. The box has printed on it many of the details and inside there is an instruction sheet. It’s an easy to follow operation and the lantern is pre-charged and so ready to use. The control knob is easy to use and works effectively.

The clicks and pushes are all described and once you have illuminated it you quickly find out how rotating the knob changes the light level. The colour temperature can also be adjusted making the unit glow softly to illuminating very brightly. Perfect for outside use on a tabletop or hanging up.

The lantern is rechargeable via the included USB lead. The long life batteries can be used as an emergency power pack output 5volts. The rechargeable slot has a cover on it too.

This can be used outside and the metal parts are electroplated for protection. The base is made of bamboo. The lantern has an attached hanging rope as well as wet all loop on the top of it. Avoid getting it very wet.

This is a very good multipurpose lamp and the pricing for the high quality is very good. The lantern looks retro and stylish and can be used both indoors and outdoors. It will be ideal as a gift or for personal use. Very pleased with this highly useful item.

This lantern is supplied in a branded cardboard box which contains the light, a USB to USB-C charging cable, a small screwdriver to access the battery box and instructions. The lamp has a sturdy ABS plastic body, a bamboo accent strip around the case, a chrome steel grill and a removable rope handle.

The unit has a generous built in 5000ma/H capacity via two 18650 Lithium Batteries that are replicable. These provide excellent battery life and in addition the lamp can also be used as a power bank in case of an emergency to charge your phone via a built in USB sock although only at 1 Amp so rather slowly.

It is easy to use and controlled via a single chrome knob. You switch it on by pressing the knob and it defaults to the warm light option, this can be dimmed or brightened by turning the knob, and to switch it from warm to cool white light you the knob sharply again or hold it in to turn it off.

The light changes from a background light that will last for days to a bright light suitable for reading although this greatly reduces the battery life it still runs for 4 hours on maximum brightness. It is well sealed and rated at IPX4 which means it is protected from splashing water, no matter the direction so should be fine in a normal shower but avoid storm conditions if you can!

This lamp is ideal for camping or just sitting outside in the garden for an evening. It has lots of features and is well made and designed as well as being competitively priced against similar products.

HARPER LIVING Rechargeable Camping LED Retro Lantern

This product looks better in person than in its product details. I like every detail of it. It looks retro, but it’s made from durable materials. It’s solid and well-polished.

Here are some details I like about it.
It is body is made from iron, the lampshade is made from plastic, while the base is made from bamboo. The jute handle makes it look retro. Its body and the cage may rust in the long run, so better not exposed it outside permanently.

It has charge and discharge functions. It can be used as a power bank in case of an emergency.

It is easy to use. Switch it on by pressing the knob. Its default is warm light, which is dimmable as your turn the knob clockwise. ?If you want to switch it from warm to cool light, simply press the knob again.

It is bright enough for the outdoors? Yes. It can reach up to 6500k.

The pack is supplied with two 18650mAh lithium-ion batteries, a screwdriver, a USB C cable, and a user manual.

Tho it can’t up in the water for a long time as it is just IPX4, I can’t fault it at all as the product details are spot on.

I was expecting less from it, but it exceeded my expectations, so I am giving it a five-star review.

Golden Review Award: 8 From Our UsersLovely retro style lantern comes in a nice box with a USB lead, a handy screwdriver and two Lithium Ion batteries that were already inserted into the battery compartment so it was all ready to go. I love the style and the black, chrome and wooden base complement each other nicely. The USB output and input point is located at the back of the lantern. When charging the green light will flash, when fully charged it will stay on. You can also use the USB output charger to charge another device. You get a long life charge of up to 75 hours. There are two different colour modes to choose from “cool white” and “warm white”.

The lantern does come with a set of instructions which are easy to follow. The knob dial is located at the front, you press it once and it will turn on, you turn clockwise and the light will gradually get brighter and brighter as you keep turning. When you want to change colour you give the dial a short quick press, to turn off the lantern you just press the dial and hold it in for a few seconds. It is very easy to use.

There is a rope handle that will easily attach and detach from the metal spiral hooks for easy hanging, there is also the option of a metal loop, so you can use either for hanging purposes. The lantern measures 23cm in height and 12.6cm in width. I tried this outdoors and indoors and it radiated a very good bright light, indoors it lit up the whole room!

This lantern is lightweight, portable and would be useful and very handy to take on camping and fishing trips, to use in the garden and when there are power cuts in the home. It is well made, reasonably priced and i recommend it.

    Portable, Dimmable and Bright.
