Bought this for some gentle exercise to increase muscle strength following knee problems and it woks well. There is a good range of adjustment, enough to suit me anyway. The resistance is only felt on the stroke and not on the return so its not a two way gas strut, something which wasn’t clear in the description.
This was an affordable buy, fit for purpose for any beginner starting at home workouts. Little bit on the short side in length. Anyone over 5 7″ might want to go for something a bit longer for the leg space, but otherwise its ideal and doesnt take up much storage space.
Arrived promptly, easy to assemble. I use it for 15 minutes per day and after only 6 weeks I am much fitter and slimmer.
Easy to assemble and use,and delivery service was excelle
Easy to set up . Lots of levels to make it harder. Folds flat so takes up very little room. Good for the money
Can’t fault this product. It’s easy to assemble easy to use instruction book is very straightforward. He said he stored under the bed up against the wall. You could even put a cup the skybox songs you get a good size and hang it on the wall to say floor space
It’s a great rowing machine easy to put away and my grandson loves it for training ,football
To help tone up and keep fit excellent piece of equipme
Arrived within 3 days of ordering. It’s sturdy & very well made. Not to big & bulky so ideal for a home work out. Came pretty much built, just had to snap the handles on & put batteries in the monitor..ready to use within 5 mins. Good range of resistance & the seat lovely & padded. Definitely recommend
It was delivered quick.
It was easy to put together.
Easy to use.
But could be too low for some to get on and off.
i have to say this item is an excellent purchase, price sturdy and assembly is top draw, probably the best exercise priced item of all, light weight easy to store in a small spot.
I am trying to build up my strength after long term illness. I didn’t want to pay a lot of money in case I couldn’t manage the rower, and didn’t want something complicated or too powerful.
This machine is perfect. It glides well and with no torque on at all still provides a small amount of resistance which was perfect for me as a starting point. Easy to assemble, although I still haven’t worked the little computer thingy out and the instructions were next to useless.
It’s nice and compact and folds to stand in a cupboard. Very happy with the purchase.
Really impressed with this rowing machine. Great for all the family to use. Feels sturdy and very easy to use.
I disliked the delay in delivery but,the machine is simple to use..enjoy
It’s easy to use and to assemble, perfect for beginners.
got it a couple of months ago, used every day for a hour, last week the bearing under the seat seized up. then this morning the piston attached to the handle broke off, obviously not built for a lot of use, just ordered hopefully a better machine.
Came a day earlier than anticipated and no assembly needed….love it.. great for a workout for anyone
What a bargain good weight easy to store easy to fit final bits and ordered on the Thursday arrived Saturday morning via Yodel great all round service
Compact and easy to assemble. As a beginner it’s perfect for my needs to tone up
Brilliant value for money glad I ordered it I’ve used it every day & the resistance is grea
This is a great rower. Bought to help with fitness during COVID. Easy to put together very light to move about and great rowing action. Would recommend very good value for money
This is really good. So why 4 stars not 5? 2 reasons. First, the feet plates. The straps don’t have enough velcro coverage to secure my feet. I am size 6.5 and narrow footed. So unless you have really thick/wide feet it doesn’t secure you in place. Also the pivot point is a little off for me. It is more towards my heals than half way down the foot. So when I push against the foot plates to extend my legs straight, the foot plates pivot and my feet end up pointing downwards suddenly. This is a little annoying because it hurts my ankles when I forget that I need to push against the footplates through my heals and not the rest of my feet. It could have been better for the rotation bolts to be a little bit higher for the foot. But as long as I remember to push only through my heals it works fine.
The second reason is because the resistance is rubbish and 10 should be the resistance level 1. So levels 1-9 are pretty much useless for most people. I have it on max and it is a nice casual resistance. But if you want a resistance that will challenge you or give your muscles a really good workout, then this simply doesn’t offer that much resistance. It ends up getting too hot to continue using and I have to wait for it to cool down before I can carry on. You could spend an hour on this and still not have muscle fatigue.
The good points are that it does get your heart rate up. You do feel it in your legs just above the inside knee area if raised to its highest setting of incline. I have rubber olympic weight plates and raise it up further with a barbell plate under the rear end. Another adaptation is that I wear sand filled bands on my wrists. I have also tried to place an exercise resistance band on the front floor bar and the handle bar. This made it far better resistance than the machine offers alone. There are different resistance bands out there so easy to find one that is right for you. I used the thick bands and not the tube ones or those really thin bands.
I did not use the digital machine it came with so my review is the machine only. I have my own way of keeping track of what I have done. So I didn’t fit the plastic display onto the machine. That said, it looks like it would be in my way if I were to fit it and wonder if my knees would knock it. Obviously, unless I were to fit it I can’t claim anything positive or negative about it.
Great product . I was a bit hesitant after reading reviews but it’s perfect , easily stored brought for my husband who has health problems .. he loves it ..no problems at al with i
Easy to put together and does everything it needs too
As this machine is narrow it can be stored in a small space between use. Great hand grips easy moveme
The machine was really easy to assemble, and is easy to use as well. The only area which is a bit poor are the instructions which are pretty minimal, but to be fair there is not too much to explain. We started on a setting of 5 of 12, and have found this to be a fair degree of effort required. If used regularly and on a steadily increasing basis it does tone stomach and legs and steadily gets easier.
I can’t praise this rower enough, quick to assemble (4mins) light weight enough to lift up 2 flights of stairs but sturdy enough to use. Low enough to stow under my bed when not in use but the seat is high enough to enable me to get on and off with ease. 3 different height levels to enable a better pull and a surprisingly comfortable seat. If there were 10 stars this fabulous rower would earn every one! The seller is brilliant too, delivered safe and sound within 24hrs!
I’ve never been to a gym or used any other exercise machines I’m 49 5.9 13st ish and have terminal illness so haven’t been getting out so much brought this and cheap exercise bike because I have started getting side boobs I so far have used them both twice daily for around ten minutes each morning and afternoon ish they both work perfectly the rowing machine seems to do my stomach arms shoulder and legs and came with information booklet although I’ve not read it I think I’m doing it right it has power adjustment on the piston I’ve been using only on number 3 which seems to give me exercise I sweat from just ten minutes the seat is comfortable enough and the hand grips are soft comfortable good grip but I suspect will end up being sweaty I am a complete novice and have nothing to compare it with but I’d definitely recommend for the price it’s working for me minutes seem to go very slow try not to look at a clock oh it has a little clock instrument thing that says time calories and stuff . It’s good
Perfect, I’m a personal trainer and I can transfer this about with me its fab!
Had this just under a year but as can be seen in the photo front bracket that anchors the piston to the frame has torn away renders it unsafe
simple to assemble, light to lift and transport to any where in the house and ideal for me as l am nearly 80yrs of age
in other words brilliant. joh
Very good for the price you are paying.
Easy to assemble (had it up and running in about 10 minutes)
Sturdy, well built with a smooth action.
Only tried it so far on setting 3 of 12 and offers a fairly good resistance for a beginner.
The “computer” however is fairly useless apart from as a timer.
For the price (I got it on Black Friday) for about 70 I cant imagine you would be able to get anything better, if you want hydraulic action (and why wouldn’t you?) Then I definitely recommend!
It functions well enough as a rowing machine but the so called computer to monitor performance wasn’t up to much.
Love the little rowing machine,
Works perfectly for my balcony and does the job.
Does not need assemble, just unpack and ready to go.
Customer service is a 100% easy to talk to and fast response.
Highly recommended.
It’s great for a someone who has a low budget and is a beginne
You’re obviously not gonna get a workout like you would with the proper rowers, but you can work up a good sweat and burn some calories. It was easy to assemble and store. Well worth the 70 quid I paid – I’m not sure about value for money at the original price.
I am a fairly fit and strong septogenarian who went to the gym for 5 classes per week before lockkdown. With the money I have saved with membership fees and petrol to get there I decided to buy some equipment and exercise at home in future.
Gym quality it isn’t but I wasn’t expecting it to be at this price. But it is strong and sturdy for my size and weight (5’2″ and 9st.) and would take someone taller and heavier; with my legs extended there is about 5.5″/6″ more ‘spare’ rail at the back. The seat could be more padded but it slides easily along the rail. The handles are comfy and the computer easy to see while rowing. The resistance goes upto 12 (you just turn a numbered dial) and I am at my limit at about 7-8. You can increase the angle of the seat slider which I guess would make it a harder workout. Not the same mechanism as the gym ones and I will need to adapt my technique slightly.
After trying it to check it worked ok I would say I’m at the lower to mid end of the height range for use, and with size 4.5 feet the foot straps are not quite tight enough wearing light cross trainers. I will update my review if needs be.
It came a day before expected, well packed for transit and easy to open. It was very quick and easy to assemble with only one bit to screw up.
I am happy with my purchase at the price I paid.
Update: I have adjusted the foot straps by sliding the buckle round to allow more strap to grip the velcro, and after a few goes I have got into a nice smooth technique. The handles are more comfy than the gym’s rowers where I had to wear padded gloves. I’m no ‘digital wizard’ and I’m still sussing out how the computer works, but the display is large enough to see easily and scans slow enough that you don’t miss anything when the handle at the point of the stroke when it’s down in your lap and not visible.
Recap: a good rower for people of most sizes and all fitness. Great range of resistance settings for beginners, those needing rehab and ‘serious gym workouters’. I’m fairly fit and strong and it has plenty of ‘growing room’ for me to improve.
Video shows rower set on 1 (lowest resistance), 4, 8 and 12 (highest), and rail on the 1st incline height.
A little in the small size, its a squeeze for me at 6ft. Despite this I find it very easy to use. Assembly was minimal, its compact so easy to store, the tensioner is excellent with a definite difference between all 12 tensions. The seat isn’t the best but I’m going to velcro a copy support pad to it. If you want a simple, compact, lightweight, easy to use, well constructed and cheap row machine then up this one.
Bought this for my son as a present. It was easy to assemble, easy to operate. He’s really pleased with it and would recommend this product to anyone
Product was easy to assemble. The only issue that I had was that the design of the rollers was poor. The bearings did not last long, but when I contacted the seller they were very forthcoming and we agreed on partial refund. I redesigned the rollers and the machine is now much smoother and sturdy.
got extactly what I hoped for, sturdy, straight forward, good exercise machine
Very good for the price, good for ladies and if you are not very tall!
Great rowing machine; perfect for fitness enthusiasts. Purchased mine for around 50, which is good value for a rowing machine; was sceptical at first as this Homecom rowing machine was the cheapest option on the market, and the others were 100 +, which is way too expensive! This machine is great quality and made of thick metal frames/bars; very eat to put together as well, as there are only 3/4 parts to add on to the main bar and that’s all; assembled mine myself in around 20 minutes, and got to use it right away! The pedals are also strong/firm, with added straps to hold you feet in place, which is good for reassurance, (even though i don’t think these Velcro straps are really needed anyway).
As for the resistance strength of this machine; it’s not great or that hard at it’s highest intensity/resistance, so would be better if the resistance was a little harder, but it’s all down to preference. Overall a great piece of gym equipment at a reduced price.
Great value easy to use, good price, the only thing it could be slightly longer when sliding back and forward without sounding rude.
I am really pleased with this; my wife uses it almost every day and loves it. It is quite small though, I couldn’t use it myself. Also the handle doesnt extend enough to reach the chest but reaches the waist instead. However, apart from that it is perfect. It has 12 resistance settings, folds up easily, and is very good value for money.
Seems adequate enough, strong, does what its supposed to, price is good for product, good overall body workout.
Was very easy to set up and assemble. This was bought for my 73 year old dad who wanted something he could use to tone his stomach but had control on how much he used. So perfect for beginners or people who suffer anxiety and carnt atten a gym
Oh my god what a fab machine to have. Easy to assemble and exellent vfm. Im so happy with my rowing machine.
his machine is well worth buying as you can vary resistance to suit strength. versatile machine. i have bought 5 of these machines and hacksawed seat runner in order to fix on to wall to do tricep and bicep, shoulder work. this allows me to set up gym in garage.
instructions could be clearer. takes about 45 minutes to put together. working on waist level bench/kitchen worktop advised. tools supplied do the job but spanners are flat and can be uncomfortable and time consuming…get a mini ratchet set from hardware store and that will see you right. dont let all the nuts and bolts put you off as fairly easy to put together..if i say easy then its got to be as i hate anything you have to put together.
Securing the rear leg wasn’t obvious from the instructions. I used the pull out pin provided. Has a tendency to travel over a tiled surface.
Apart from that works well.
great rowing machine , great price , quick delivery well pleased thanks
