HomyLink Single Mattress, 8.7 Inch Pocket Sprung Single Bed

After spending weeks comparing mattresses, creating short lists, weighing up the reviews this mattress was the chosen one. Some of the reviews had me worried, buying online it’s hard to pick a mattress not being able to try it out, turns out the bad reviews were written by people who had made the wrong choice for their needs. I needed a mattress that 1) soaked up my partners movement during the night 2) didn’t leave me in pain in my hips and back 3) wasn’t a hard mattress but wasn’t too soft either. This mattress aced it when it came to our 3 main needs. My fianc has MS so he spends a lot of time in bed, during the night pain and restless leg syndrome keeps him awake and he moves around a lot, our old mattress when he turned over the entire bed moved with him including me which would then wake me up. This mattress soaks up even heavy movement like a dream, it’s like the old advert from the 90s where they put a glass of red wine on the mattress and had an adult move around the bed and the glass of wine didn’t move at all. He really chucked himself around the mattress to test it out while I laid down and I just to say felt the movement instead of being bounced around.

For some reason I’m one of those people who are really sensitive to mattress firmness, waking up with that awful hip and leg pain, unable to sleep on my back because the mattress would sink leaving a gap between my butt and lower back resulting in really bad back pain, it’s only night 3 but so far absolutely no pain, usually night 1 on a bad mattress will leave me in pain. I’ll update my review once we’ve had the mattress for a couple of months but so far so good. The mattress is very thick so I’m assuming sagging won’t be an issue either (I’ll mention this in a couple of months too).

The only issue with this mattress is…
The weight! It comes rolled in a box and oh my god it weighs more than my car!! It took me a while to get it up the stairs but once up unboxing took a couple of minutes, as soon as I broke the vacuum seal the bed started expanding, left it for 24 hours before putting it on the bed (we couldn’t wait the full 48 hours we wanted to try it out so badly)
