This unit is a must for the hot weather we experienced a few weeks ago. It is easy to set up cools a room very quickly and isn’t noisy
Got this after the compressor went on our GoodHome Takoma from Screwfix. This one cost about 100 more but is better in almost every way, so we’re happy with the value for money on offer. It’s quieter, smaller and the remote is really good. Lowest temperature on this one is 17 degrees, compared to 16 on the Takoma, but it really doesn’t make a difference – during the heatwave this was effective at cooling the room. Now we’re moving into winter we’ll make use of the heating and dehumidifier features too. The feature where the box can locate the remote and push air towards the remote is really clever, just keep the remote on you and the box will adapt to make sure you stay cool. Hope it lasts longer than the old one!
If room is well lit or sunny almost impossible to see led display on the top of the machine.
Need to use remote to read any settings.
It works as it should
just get a good window seal going and it will cool an entire room
it’s a little loud but when it was really hot i would rather not be melting
if its a small bedroom you want to use this with, i wouldnt recommend it as it’s too big
i feel like its designed for a large room
Only one issue. There is no cover supplied with this product to cover the internal aperture when venting through an outside wall when not in use. A little bit on the expensive side. But compared with my old air con unit it’s worth the outlay!
My only other criticism is the remote control. It’s a bit naff really; it seems to have a mind of its own, you don’t get batteries, and the instructions for it make absolutely no sense. I don’t bother with it anymore.
It’s a great cooling machine though – I got a hose extension which works a treat, please just make sure you don’t knock the drainage plug even slightly, as it will leak.
Ordered this air-conditioner as this wether was ridiculously too hot working great so far get cold after a few mins Controls easy to use but doesn’t come with batteries for the remote even though the instructions say they it dose u can found this air-conditioner cheaper elsewhere so would recommend u look around
If you’re not careful you can go round in circles doing that and with another batch of hot weather on the way I needed to make a decision. Searching for one with Prime delivery and 12000BTU didn’t throw up a lot of choices and I have to admit I was a bit nervous paying out 400+ for a brand that I’d never heard of.
But …. it was delivered promptly and was pretty easy to set up. Ours is venting out of a patio door so the supplied vent kit is not big enough for that and I had to improvise with a bit of hardboard. And as others are saying batteries for the remote are NOT included despite the manual saying they should be, so have a couple of AAAs handy.
The important question, does it work? Yes. We’ve had it running pretty much solidly during the day for the last 5 days and it certainly cools the lounge and gets it comfortable. We’ve had the temperature set to the lowest (17C) and it doesn’t get down that low, it’s been keeping the lounge at 23C when it’s been 30+ outside. Certainty cool enough for it to be a nice relief when you go into the lounge from another room. The temperature might get down lower if we were more careful about keeping the lounge closed off and other windows shut and so on, but it’s been great having it the past few days.
As for the noise, that’s honestly not bad, we can happily watch TV without upping the volume, seems about the same has having a traditional fan running.
So as long as it proves to be reliable I’m very happy with it as a purchase.
Easy to set up, nice looking unit, and simply works very well. Cools the room in minutes and has been a life saver.
A lot more powerful than some cheaper models..just purchased a second one for upstairs
We have a small semi all open plan ground floor. This keeps the entire ground floor at 24 which isn’t freezing but better than the 30 plus that it’s been in the heatwave.
Very easy to use and what little assembly there is is just clip together.
I bought a hose extension (5.9″) which works but gets almost too hot to touch so like having a radiator on in the room you’re trying to cool. Best without extension and as close as possible to exhaust window.
The unit itself is quite heavy so bare in mind if your thinking of moving up and down the stairs.
The unit for it’s size is nice looking and easily movable on its castor wheels. As for how noisey it is, me and my wife manage to sleep through its operation. However if you have it set on the lowest setting the AC compressor will be running alot and this sometimes can be noisey.
Overall I’m very happy and would consider getting another one for the downstairs
