Very easy to use for arthritic legs. Not a weight loss exercise machine.
I sit at a desk all day, and this was GREAT for keeping circulation going in my legs when I can’t get up and walk around. It’s easy to use, and move from desk to chair or wherever you like. There are different difficulty settings so you can get the workout you want.
Easy to use.
Auf den ersten Blick top alles weiter sieht man i laufe der Zei
I received this and wasn’t expecting it to be so large & heavy. Thank goodness a friend of mine was at my house & was able to carry it upstairs for me. I just had a knee gel injection procedure & was in pain for a few weeks so I didn’t open the box right away. It was packaged extremely well with a lot of styrofoam to keep it safe during shipment. I didn’t realize it needed to be put together so needless to say it took me about another week to get around to putting it together. It was very easy to assemble, it came with a manual that was ehhh. It wasn’t hard to figure out how to assemble it. However it’s very vague on the monitor screen & where the batteries go. Apparently my battery was dead because when I pushed the buttons nothing happened. It wasn’t a big deal because I’m not too much into tracking my numbers. So I just pedaled away. I looked at some of the reviews & many have said their batteries didn’t work either. I had some of the same type batteries at home so I just changed it out myself but it sounds like the company is willing to send out batteries to those who need or want them. I like that you can pedal backwards & forwards & there’s like 5 different settings of difficulty. On days when my knee or ankle are hurting I can switch it to the easy level & still get a workout while I work. It sits perfectly under my desk and can be rolled from my main office to my makeshift office in my bedroom if needed. It’s harder to roll if you are tall. I’m about 5’7″ and have to bend down to roll it, but I could pick it up & carry it if I needed to take it somewhere, but wouldn’t want to do that everyday. So it’ll remain under my desk in my home office. It is very quiet so if I was to go back into the office I could use it & not disturb anyone. It’s a great seated mini elliptical and I recommend it for anyone who wants to keep moving while working at home or wants to get a lower body workout while watching tv or reading a book on the sofa or chair.
All’s Well that End’s Well
PROS
Excellent packaging
Easy to assemble
Solid, heavy design
Smooth 8-level tension lever from very easy to very hard
Pedal design also works your calves, unlike standing ellipticals
Very quiet
CONS
Terrible battery placement. What were they thinking?
No instructions to replace the battery
BATTERY FIASCO
Before the Elliptical arrived, I received an email from the seller explaining that there was an error packing the elliptical. Apparently the battery was already added and activated. Due to distribution time there was a possibility that the battery would be dead on arrival.
It was definitely dead.
There was no information from the manufacturer or in the instructions about replacing the battery. I sent an email to the manufacturer. They responded promptly that it takes one LR44 battery, but no instructions where the battery is located.
After another email they send me a pdf showing how to pry off the electrical panel cover, but still no word on how to replace the battery.
The battery is on the circuit board covered by a battery holder/clip. I had to use a needle-nose plyer to pry open one of the tabs that held the battery in place. This took a lot of time – because I didn’t want to destroy anything. After replacing the battery, I was unable to properly tighten the tab – so that battery is in place with gravity – and if the machine gets tilted the battery will slip out.
UNPACKING
Some other reviews mentioned the difficulty of unpacking this elliptical, however my experience was quite different. In my opinion, the elliptical was packed exactly as you would expect. It’s a fairly heavy product – about 36 pounds, and it made sense to pack it well. Nevertheless, it was easy to unpack all of the pieces. In total it took me about five minutes to unpack everything.
Your best bet for unpacking is to have both a box cutter and a pair of scissors.
ASSEMBLY
The assembly instructions were easy to follow and very clear. It really does not require a lot of assembly. Overall it took me about 15 minutes to assemble.
The elliptical is solid. Well-made, and easy to move around with wheels on one side and a handle on the other.
IMPRESSIONS:
The elliptical is very smooth and very quiet. It’s easy to use. The gear lever on the front adjusts it from most difficult to very easy. There are many stops in between the most difficult and the least difficult. It should be good for almost anybody.
The elliptical works perfectly without the battery. What you don’t get is the timer and all that fancy speed indicators, etc. However it works without needing power.
USAGE
I am not really able to use this as I had hoped. I sit at a desk all day working and thought this would be a good product for a little under the desk action.
Unfortunately it doesn’t quite work the way I had hoped. My office chair is on wheels as most office chairs are, and using an under the desk electrical causes the chair to move around too much and make it difficult to actually get work done.
This would be much more suited for a stationary chair or even a living room couch. I can definitely see it used for sitting on the couch watching TV. However for me, it’s just not conducive for office work.
** The battery holder image is not the one this machine came with – but it is exactly similar.
Assembly was difficult for someone mobility issues and it is heavy but once in peddling position it does not move. It’s good to see the screen showing minutes, revolutions and calories used etc. A very useful piece of kit.
Got this to help rehab a knee at the suggestion of a physical therapist, so far it’s been great using it. I found it super easy to assemble and all the parts and tools are included and easily labelled. Instructions are easy to follow as well and once you get it together there isn’t a lot you have to do other than use it(lol). As it was being shipped to me the seller did reach out and notify me that the battery in the display that functions as a time/calorie tracker may have to be replaced and to reach out to them to handle that. I just replaced the battery myself as it’s super easy to pop out the screen and replace the hearing aid sized(I don’t remember the exact size) battery.
I’m not super familiar with sitting ellipticals or full sized ones but I’m happy with this one. I mostly use it on about half of it’s max resistance setting and it’s more than enough for me to feel it in my knee that has issues, I think it’s definitely capable of sustaining a great work out. It is a bit heavy but it has a handy lift/carrying handle and wheels to aid with moving it around.
The assembly was easy and didn’t take long at all. It was packaged well, although I had to woman-handle it out of the box and it’s a bit awkward. After putting it together, it easily moves around using wheels on the front and a handle you hold on the back to rotate and roll it where you need.
The petals are super easy to move and you can set the difficulty by just pulling up or pushing down the front adjustment handle. There are eight different resistance levels depending on how hard you want to work! It’s whisper quiet and I easily use this during online meetings or just in general while working.
The device comes with a digital read out that monitors how long you’ve been working out, what speed you’re going, the distance you’ve gone, and the calories you’ve burned. When this first arrived the battery was dead, but the manufacturer replaced the battery for me and let me know they changed their process to ensure that the battery no longer arrives dead on arrival. The ex-quality technician in me was very pleased with this explanation and the corrective and preventative actions! The battery was easy to replace, the component just pops off and you push out the battery to insert a new one. Easy peasy! Plus, it still works without this digital read out and I didn’t really have any qualms with having ‘invisible progress’.
I’ve always wanted a way to help me stay active while I sit at my desk for 8+ hours with huge amounts of time with no movement at all. This is a great solution! Highly recommend!
A lot bigger and heavier than I thought.very well made and high quality. Smooth motion and accurate counting.
I work from home sitting at my desk all day, so I thought this would be a good way to be active while I work, but I didn’t account for sitting in a desk chair with wheels! It’s an impossible feat to use this in a rolling chair because you just get pushed away while pedaling, which is something I just should have realized would happen beforehand. What I DID do (in spite of the instructions – and I do not recommend if not familiar with using these machines) is use it while I’m standing and working. I’m very accustomed to using elliptical machines without holding on with my arms, and I had one like this some years ago that I used while standing. So, since I have a sit/stand desk, I’ve been using this elliptical whenever I stand, BUT it has to be turned BACKWARDS for standing! In the forward direction, it works great for sitting (just not in a rolling chair), backwards for standing, and voila! Now it works great while I work!
The only real disappointment is that the monitor was not working on arrival. To their credit, the seller did email me that due to the unit sitting in the warehouse so long, that the battery may be dead. It definitely was dead, but once I removed the monitor to access the battery, it was very difficult to remove the battery cover so I just left it alone and used the exerciser without.
Overall, good quality machine.
Fcil montaje, quiz excesivo peso, para muy mayores no lo veo, y no consume energa. Por lo dems bien.
In case it would slip my mind, I want to mention this first. If you are looking at this seriously , or if you have purchased it and are waiting for it to arrive, please check the videos at the bottom of the Amazon product description. There are two. Pay special attention to the “Unboxing & Installation” video. I did not look at the written manual once. This video is very accurate. I especially appreciate the manufacturer saying that in case the digital display does not work.. replace the battery.
I will later add a video as I am completely wheelchair bound. I unboxed , unpacked, assembled and located the unit totally by myself. BE WARNED however to send someone to the post office to get it who is strong. Our post office had us drive to the back and they loaded it for us with a trolley.
Very well packed. Most things I have gotten this heavy crush the packing and damage the product. The box is about 2-3 times the size of the unit. It protected it wonderfully.
My only issue was in the assembly, some paint had gotten in the machine screw holes on the bottom plate. I was concerned not to cross thread so I used an electric screw driver to back in and out the screws first.. before attaching the plate.
I read over the product description again to see if there was any “fluff” in the description. I found none. I will not bother to describe product details as they were accurately described. I will update this in a month with a video. I may use a few photos today.
Here are the points I especially appreciated
1) VERY easy to adjust the magnetic resistance
2) Operation was quite fluid for me except in the highest resistance. It was just too hard given my physical limitations. The lowest was too easy. This was perfect for me. I used about 1 click up from the easiest to start.
3) Strangely, I was able to move, position and use and store without any assistance or special effort the unit. I have hardwood floors and the weight and rubber bottom allowed Zero movement.
4) TOTALLY quiet. The only noise was from my wheelchair as the Velcro cushion strained. It was metal/rubber on wood floor and NO noise. This would have been a deal breaker. The machine, like advertised, was silent.
5) Magnetic resistance made the operation fluid once started. There was no jerking as the top of one foot smoothly rotated to the bottom of the cycle
6) The weight kept the machine in place. I thought I might need to buy a rubber mat but totally not necessary.
7) The only casualty is I did 700 revolutions the first time and my joints are not used to that. I must force myself to increase more slowly. If any readers have ridden a bicycle seriously, there was actually pleasure in keeping a cadence.
We all have experienced buying a new exercise machine loving it .. then letting it sit.. then moving it to the garage.. then moving to a yard sale. I sincerely don’t expect this to happen. The Joroto is too easy to use too small a footprint, can be used sitting down watching TV, and will not disturb other family members. I expect it to be used. I will follow up in 6 months.
I will also follow up with a video to show how I move the unit and position it in a wheel chair in case any readers are handicapped. You cannot pull it as it grips the floor so good. However, as soon as you lift the handle end the transport wheels come into play and you can very easily move to wherever you wish
Hope this helped.. Cheers
What I like most about this desk elliptical is the large pedals on it. My old one I had to slip my feet into the straps on little pedals and then sometimes I could feel the straps as I pedaled. These are huge and flat and it makes it more comfortable for me to use.
I had read about the display not working on one so I ordered batteries (LR44, I used Amazonbasics) at the same time I ordered this. The battery was dead in the display when I got it so I popped it out and put a new battery in and it came right on.
I like how simple it is to use. It came well-protected and nothing was damaged or missing. We had it out, assembled and going in about 20 minutes.
This is larger and heavier than I expected but it is very durable and making equipment durable generally means increased weight. It was quick and easy to assemble between the instructions and the available items. The instructions were not perfect as they referred at points to part numbers that did not exist, but it was obvious looking at the items that came with it what the part should be.
Nice, easy to use while sitting and doing other things. The light display has been noted by others that it did not work. Mine did not work either when it arrived. I popped the little display free from its setting and removed the battery and replaced it with another one and it started working. So, that was easy enough to resolve.
Fun and easy to use when watching television, reading a book or just relaxing. Put it on low resistance and do a lot of reps or on high resistance and do fewer, the choice of how you want to exercise is yours. It works well for me.
As a side note, you will be hard pressed to find a LR44 battery in the US. The US equivalent is the Energizer 357.
Don’t mind my slippers lol. Much needed under the desk elliptical. I work from home and barely ever leave the house. I could stand to lose a few pounds. Assembly was easy. I’m using it as I write this! Would definitely recommend.
After I realized that the hardware is labeled wrong, assembly was easy. There is no #34 screw. Just use the #27. There are enough of those for the pedals and the stabilizer. It came with a dead battery, but the seller sent me an email offering to supply a new battery – with instructions on how to replace the battery. The manual is a bit lacking on that, but you just “pop” out the monitor. It’s held in place by little compression ears, and you just sort of force it up and out. I didn’t use a screwdriver to pry it out, but you could – just don’t scratch the finish. The battery is an LR44. You could use a standard SR44, but those are not alkaline. A Duracell 76A is alkaline. Just a Duracell 76 is not alkaline. It will still work, just not as long. But once you know how, changing the battery is easy.
This works really well. It’s easy to move around. It’s fairly quiet – fine for using while watching TV. The resistance lever works well. I use it about halfway. I’m quite pleased with it.
It works. It seems durable. Good resistance etc. If the display worked, I’d give it 5 stars. Maybe there’s some way to put batteries in but I don’t see where and it isn’t marked. I don’t even know what type of batteries. It’s larger and heavier than I expected. I can’t see it fitting under a desk.
I might contact support about the display. Since getting it, I’ve grown to like it pretty good otherwise.
I would say the only downfall is this is a machine that really only comfortable from a sitting position. I have one that I can sit and stand that I prefer more. HOWEVER, they don’t advertise it as a stand/sit so I won’t hold that against them. It smooth running, easy to use and easy to adjust tension. Also easy to put together. The handles do make it easier to move around.
