As my title suggests I’m pretty pleased overall. It seems heavyweight and very stable once assembled. Took me a little over 30 minutes to put together but that was down to some of the holes not aligning, hence the four stars. With some fiddling around I did it in the end, apart from the adjustable foot bar meant to stabilise you during ab crunches etc. Impossible to lock it in the “unused” position as the hole to do so is way out of alignment. A shame as otherwise it seems a solid piece of kit.
Very pleased with this purchase. Have been using it for a while now and very happy with quality and versatility.
Very nice bench which both looks good and is of solid construction. Was very easy to put together.
Reason for 4 stars is that the foot pads at the bottom of the bench broke immediately on first use. Upon inspection it’s basically only held there with a thin metal pin welded onto the frame which is just bad design.
Overall I’m very happy with this bench, as it’s good value, feels sturdy, does what I need it to do, and looks nice. It took me no more than an hour to assemble. According to the manual the weight limit is a person of 136kg. I’ve used it a few times now. My only gripes would be:
– Situps – it’s not much good for them, unless you have short legs (I’m 6ft). When you sit on the bench in decline position, your bum slips into the gap between the seat and back rests, which means that on each sit-up you’re rubbing against the edge of the backrest pad. I imagine it wouldn’t take long at all to damage the pad in this way, so I won’t use it for situps.
– Gap – it’s not a game-changer, but there is a reasonable gap when the bench is flat (see photo)
– The backrest adjust piece doesn’t align great on mine, which may or may not be an issue (see photo)
Anyway, I would definitely recommend, especially given the price, as long as you don’t need it for situps
Very VERY Sturdy and stable. Does not make any noise when using it at all, unlike my older bench which was terribly noisy and rattly. Love how quickly you can adjust the backrest and seat. Great Price too. Trim underneath is a bit tatty but its not visible so does not bother me.
You can lift a lot of weight on it too, unlike some of the other benches on amazon for this price. I Bought it mainly for bench pressing so it was important for me that it can handle a lot of weight. I also sit on the seat and do Bicep curls etc so i wanted a sturdy seat and a seat that was wider so my upper legs have more support because i was getting hip pains with my older bench.
Very comfortable, quick to change, sturdy and very nice looking. Would buy the same again.
This is a great bench and at a great price but you should be aware that when the bench is flat there is quite a significant gap between the cushions. If we would have known this we probably wouldn’t have gone for this.
great value for what i wanted it for which is incline chest, incline bicep curls and a nice sturdy back support for shoulder press. Also opens up a couple of back workout options 5/5 product.
Good angle for sitting, easy to adjust. Ideal for dumbbell use.
I assembled this in less than 30 minutes.
I didn’t use the supplied tools but they should be adequate. Nothing needs to be super tight as the adjustment points will need to move freely , so leave them a little slack and the nylon nuts will prevent them backing out.
Some of the parts aren’t 100% square to the frame, but nothing that affects use or stability, just look a little wrong if you look closely. In use the bench has been stable for my workouts both flat and elevated. The padding is comfortable and wipes clean after use, as you’d expect it to.
It’s light enough to be easily moved out the way when not in use and I stand mine up on its end and tuck it away behind the door where it’s out the way. Overall can’t complain for the money I paid for it.
Does what it says, great value, used a huge amount so will see over time how it wears., delighted with the purchase.
Sturdy, easy to put together & a great price. Multiple elevation options & perfect addition to any home gym
Arrived promptly. Instructions were sufficiently clear although some diagrams could be larger. Assembly straight forward – requires use of only basic tools (a spanner and allen keys). Seems well engineered and well manufactured – there are comfortable tolerances on parts and simple adjustments available. Welds appear to have appropriate strength for use in a typical home gym by a person of average to large size (perhaps max 6ft4). May not suit a commercial gym as it’s seems a bit too narrow and the seat and backing material feels a bit hard and cheap. Nor may it suit a professional body builder. But at this price for a home gym, it’s good IMO.
Ideal bench fir the price. Had a month now ideal all round
Got this to match the rack. Overall pretty good, holds my weight 16st plus about 80kg when benching no problem, just keep in mind it dose not fold flat so storing it may be a issue if you need to.
Nice bench, sturdy well made, I have no issues with it.
Good quality, very sturdy, and comfy. My only issue is that when using the bench in a decline for sit ups, the seat rises up from its latch during this motion.
Strong, sturdy bench. A few teething issues when it arrived as there were a few defects on the seat pad, however the seller was quick to resolve the issue and a replacement pad was sent straight away. It’s a good size, and I actually store it vertically to save space (note that it’s not designed to do this, it’s just a handy extra to note – although if you have small children I probably wouldn’t recommend storing it upright). Looks good too. So all in all, a great bit of kit and highly recommended
Good product at this price point , appears well made, sturdy and stable. Easy to assemble , only slight issue I found if doing declined sit up the lower seat pad can move a little not a fault as such but design issue as pads r locked in place by ur body weight for most exercises where ur weight is pushing down so very stable , but during a decline sit up when have feet locked in foot holder on the decline ur body weight is actually pushing up on the lower pad so can rock a bit but this is a minor issue in fairness and still would highly recommend product.
Easy to assemble and taking into account it is value for the money. The metal base is well engineered and sturdy. However the finish to the vinyl covering is less than perfect. Some staples did not quite hit the correct mark with some not fully compressed into the fabric.
Otherwise fitted my expectations.
The absolute best build instructions I’ve seen plus the very smart way of packing the nuts bolts and various assembly tools.
When you look at the back of the seat & back rest the finish & quality is a bit disappointing. Not neatly finished off and the material at the rear of the seat and backrest look flimsy.
Nice rounded feet which go easy on foam flooring.
At 100 plus I’d expect a better finish, but it does work well and no functional issues.
I have been using this now for 8 months, multiple times a week with heavy free weights, with the bench inclined, declined in multiple positions. I purposely tested and waited til I posted my review to give an accurate analysis for the home gym user.
It is very well (German) made and sturdy with good welds and thick powder coating. Bolts are good quality with nylock nuts. Frame is solid good thickness steel but light enough to move easily.
The foam is thick and offers good support and stays firm under weight. The material is smooth and soft but firm and easy to clean and non porous.
So far I have not had any problems. I can see this bench lasting a long time. Only issue I had was some of the studs pictured holding the lining strip that covers along the stapled parts was coming off, which I repositioned and hammered back down.
It folds easily and I would suggest not to over tighten the bolts that allow it to move until you’re satisfied with how you wish to move it’s positioning. (Allen keys and Spanner Tools are included)
For all intents and purposes this is a great solid piece of home gym equipment and I would recommend this as it was very good value and has not let me down.
The quality for this value is hard to find as I researched before buying this, and using Amazon means your warranty is unquestionably protected.
This is ideal for someone who trains at their own gym and makes an ideal piece to help achieve your gains.
I was initially very impressed with this bench. I’ve been weights training for several years and used various benches in different gyms. This isn’t quite as sturdy as your typical gym ones but it’s a great comprimise for a home gym and I can believe the 600lb weight rating. I’m 6’3″ and the size of it is no issue at all. One thing that sometimes bothers me with other benches is that they get in the way when I want to do seated dumbbell overhead tricep extensions, but this bench is low profile enough to not get in the way at all!
Onto my problem…
The foot rest/bars. They are moveable, they rotate out of the way when not wanted. This range of motion is restricted by a very small metal stud that pokes through an arc shaped cut-out in the bracket. Unfortunately, this stud is very flimsy. The very first time I put my feet on the bars, it instantly snapped off. Now my foor bars just fall to the floor and are pretty much useless. See the attached photos.
UPDATE: JX Fitness contacted me about this issue and offered me a full refund as compensation. This is much better customer service than I was expecting and I have increased my rating from 3 to 4 stars.
This is an otherwise great bench so just be careful not to put too much weight on the foot bars and you should be alright.
Don’t be expecting gym level equipment when you buy this as it is certainly not anywhere near commercial grade. It’s alright, does the job and beats laying on the floor. Relatively easy to build and pretty sturdy. What I struggle to understand is all these companies out there that are charging 2/3 times what they would have before ‘lockdown’ etc I find it all a bit of a joke to be honest and will definitely not be using many of these companies when things go back to normal. Unfortunately supply and demand means they can hike their prices and stupid people (myself included) still buy their overpriced and let’s be honest sub standard products. Like I said, decent enough weights bench, just rather expensive for what it is.
If you need a reliable bench to use at home with relatively heavy weights. DB’s up to 35kg it should be fine.
The seat is not the best whe doing incline work, the wood is very thin. I’d be careful.
Overall is a good bench for the price. You can get lots done.
*I would also go and check the screws once a month as maintenance it’s important.
You can run the risk of being crushed if the arm at the back snaps if loose. Mine did lose up a bi
Took a long time to arrive, I think I was unfortunate and it went out of stock as soon as I hit buy. But when it arrived I was not disappointed, includes all the tools you need to assemble (one spanner and two allen keys) and all of the nuts and bolts are vacuum packed onto a sheet of cardboard so it is very clear from the get go that everything is present (or not I presume if it in fact was not).
Each individual tube in the construction is sturdy and thicker than I imagined for the price. The Back and seat seem relatively lightweight but I have had 5-6 strenuous workouts so far and there has been no flex or anything.
It definitely is lighter than a professional bench when you carry it around, but it feels like it will hold up to a sensible amount of punishment. I wouldn’t recommend using it for box jumps or anything.
Very happy with the buy, I was worried that I could have been parting with cash for junk as with a lot of exercise equipment. Not so. Very happy buyer.
I’ve been in and out of gyms for 38 years and have used many different benches, but this is the first time I’ve actually bought one of my own. I spent hours of research to try and find the best bench for me. One of the most common problems is that if you are 6′ or over, backrest size and the general overall length of the bench could be a problem. Also, if you have long legs, you might struggle to get the leg extension/ leg curl to work properly or struggle to get your legs to fit under a preacher curl attachment. I’m a tad over 6′ and this bench is a good size for me; the backrest supports my head in all positions (except 90 degrees) and is wide enough to give good support. [I’ve seen other benches with elasticated neck/ head roll pillows and so I’ve ordered one from Amazon to help my sore neck]. The seat is also generously sized compared to other benches and the overall feel and comfort is all good here with thick cushioning. Steel is sturdy and strong and the bench is stable.
After having just returned a bench with leg attachments, that was just too small, I’ve elected to go for this bench and will use its comprehensive adjustments to do extensions/ curls; just remove the rollers (20 secs) and then adjust the front of the seat until you can hang your leg(s) over the rolled edge and swing them freely. Adjust backrest to suit you. Attach a resistance band to an anchor point low down behind you (you could wrap it around the bench’s rear foot), and then attach the other end to your ankle cuff. When you’ve got the tensions and resistance just right, this exercise gives a really good range of movement, and the rolled seat edge nestles nicely into the backs of your knees. Perform leg curls by setting the seat front to desired height, attach the low anchored band, and lie down with knees just off the seat edge; again, the rolled seat edge cushions just above the knee and a good range of movement can be achieved. The seat is big enough for me to use one or both legs. After having tried allsorts, I reckon ths is the best way to do extensions/curls outside of a gym; the movement is smooth, controlled and complete, no rollers pressing against legs/ ankles, low inpact, and cost effective (set of bands and attachments 30 from Amazon). But most of all…soooo comfy using this bench.
As my bench was just delivered today, I’ve only used it once and cannot give details on its longevity. The quality looks very good though and I have no reason to doubt its integrity.
I just knocked 1 star off the assembly rating because the bolts that attach the backrest and seat were a little difficult to locate in the threaded holes and can be easily crossthreaded; just start by gently pressing in and turning anti-clockwise until you can hear and feel the bolt locate at the beginning of the thread, and then carefully turn. If you leave the bolts loose until they’re all in, it will be easier to manoeuvre them in to right position.
So as you’ve gathered, I’m a fussy and particular so and so, and I’m delighted to say that I love this bench and can defiitely recommend it to those like me, who are seeking to try and create their own home gym.
Bought this bench after reading good reviews and doing some research on Amazon. Delivery was very quick only 3 days and delivered by yodel. I’ve only used it for a 2 hour training session so far but am impressed and happy with my purchase.
Pros:
-Decent price 95 (including 5% discount).
-Easy to assemble (half hour).
-sturdy (I’m 6’4″ and weigh 15 stone).
-easy/smooth to change positions for different training techniques.
-comfy to sit on and lie on.
-well made and heavy construction.
-Great for sit ups, could feel my abs working hard and was comfy doing so.
-Looks pretty cool with the bright blue colour.
-anti slip feet, so wouldn’t move around or damage flooring.
-foam roller pads are chunky and comfy.
Cons:
Leather effect covering could be thicker. (Suppose I’m used to using professional gym weight benches at my local gym, which cost hundreds and are made to take serious punishment).
Overall: the bench is great for home, office or garage use and I’m happy with my purchase. It’s well made and sturdy and offers many different folding positions. It’s comfy to use and cost was decent for this quality weight bench. I would fully recommended the bench and look forward to many years working out on i
Taking in account its price this is a very good piece of equipment. The instructions are clear and well written (not the standard English translation from Chinese in some website) and the chair itself has fair material.
Now, if you are one of those guys/girls who do bench presses of 45kg on each hand then I would definitely not use this chair as it does not seems sturdy enough to handle such pressure, but if you are like me who cannot do more than 25kg each hand then it is fine. I had in the past a 400 chair which I regrettably sold and there are some big differences on the material and thickness, which could easily handle 300 kg pressure. As I am not a strong guy the chair is perfect for me, so I give 5 stars according to my needs and the price.
