not last as long as suggested also if you don’t completely consume the coffee the remnants will burn off and stick to the bottom of the cup .

Bought this for my wife. She loves it. The only complaint is the battery life. She likes her coffee hot and it keeps it hot for about 1.5 hours without turning it off. She refills the coffee during that time. Everyone in my family and hers has one at this point and they all love them.
As a person the kept finding wife’s tea in the microwave. This works great at keeping her tea piping hot all morning. Hand wash and dry before putting back on the charger….

I would love to give this a 5 star because it truly does work great as far as keeping your coffee warm. Only problem is if you put milk in your coffee and are a slower sip kinda person like me. I like to take 20-30 mins to enjoy my lattes and by that time this cup has curdled your milk. Such a bummer because I really wanted this to work. I had to return it. But if you drink black coffee, I think it would be a 5 star review for you.
I bought this for my wife because I find half empty cups of coffee all over the house. I look into the warming plates, but I find them everywhere. This was the best purchase I ever made. She loves this cup and no more wasted coffee. It keeps her drinks perfect. I also told a friend about this and he bought one next day and keeps telling me how much he loves it. Worth the money!
Pros: The app is easy to use and has a lot of nice features. I like the customization option for the front light and that it shows the battery life. The cup itself is very easy to clean by hand, no staining at all if it sits unrinsed overnight. It will stay at a default temp of 135 F if you don’t use the app or don’t have your phone (which isn’t as warm as it sounds depending on the drink, but it is a very intuitive feature).
Neutral: The cup will stay charged for 90 minutes without the charging plate which is good for someone who is at a desk, but not practical for on the go. However if you are drinking coffee, the flavor is best within 2 hours of brewing.
Con: Only downside is when it’s off it’s not very self insulating. Your drink goes cold fast like a regular mug. You have to keep it on to keep your beverage warm. Also, the lid was an add on. For the price you’d expect it to include the lid.
Overall giving 4 stars right now and will update after longer use.
My son bought this as a gift for his mother who drinks coffee all the time but lets it sit and does not drink it fast all the time. She has gone crazy over this gift. It works so good!!! It keeps it at the temputure you want. It is her favorite gift ever!!!
Great present. The mug keeps soup, coffee, tea or whatever at a preset constant temperature. No more having to reheat the drink. Two things may give pause: how to change the battery and why a mug is priced so high.

This is my second mug. I got the bigger size this time around. Love that I don’t have to constantly stop what I’m doing to reheat my tea. I can do is on work at home, do chores around the house – and it’s perfectly hot when I take a sip.
A bit expensive but has proven to be worth it. If you want a hot cup of coffee to last while you are reading the paper or doing your online work this maybe a good choice for you. The cup has an app where you can set your desired temperature and indicator lights to tell you if it is charged or maintaining temperature. The cup is very sturdy and is a heavy duty ceramic. I really love my Ember and now i can take my time enjoying a hot cup of coffee. BTW the white version will start to show some coffee staining but not a big deal or a show stopper for me.
I am loving this mug! Bought it as a birthday gift for myself. Keeps my coffee at my selected 128 for as long as I’ve needed it to. I haven’t timed it to see if it lasts the full 80 minutes that’s claimed, but I can take my cup with me when I go sit outside on the patio, or walk in the garden, and it stays the perfect temp. It washes clean so easily too. I do hold on to it a bit more carefully than other cups, as I’d hate to drop and shatter my $120 coffee mug! (Got it on Prime Day.) Yes, it’s expensive, but it’s a wonderful indulgence if you love your morning coffee.
Edit: I’ve had my mug for about 3 months now, and I’m still loving it! I read some reviews that said it chips easily, so I bought some wooden spoons to use. I’ve had no issues with it. Just love it!
Got this for my wife who likes sipping on warm beverages for extended hours, often throughout the day. Up until now she’d keep making or reheating cups of green tea, coffee etc over & over or worse yet, get me to do it! 😉 But this changed all of that. Couldn’t be happier. Does everything it claims. The wife loves it. She said it’s changed her life. Might pick up another one just to be safe 🙂

This mug is great. I got it as a gift for a friend who accidentally lets tea and coffee go cold all the time because they just sip it off and on. He said it he loves it, but it has some limitations.
The mains issue for him is that over the course of around an hour, coffee will continue to cook and the flavor changes in a way he doesn’t like. And since it’s an electronic, he can’t put it in the microwave to use to heat milk for other kinds of drinks. These can’t be remedied, but just things to consider when purchasing it.
My husband bought this for me as a gift and it is the best thing ever. I like to sip my coffee in the morning while I take a shower and get ready but I end up microwaving it ten times. The mug keeps your coffee or tea warm for you to enjoy your morning!
Cons:
App and Bluetooth connectivity is terrible. App does not connect to the mug, says mug is empty even though it has contents.
Fragile. The ceramic coating comes off easily. Even though you use a wooden spoon for stirring and non-abrasive sponge for cleaning, the ceramic coating comes off.
Overall I am happy to have hot coffee in the morning, but product wise expected a bit more given the price.
Now I have one cup of coffee and it stays the perfect temperature until I finish it. I used to keep topping off my coffee to keep it warm and then it is only kind of warm and I drink too much coffee. This is a great cup.
I really love my ember mug! The only thing I wish was a little bit different is that I wish the charge would last long enough to have two leisurely cups of coffee. However, I still love it!
I bought two 10oz versions of these for me and my wife, if you are hesitating about spending a bit more on the 14oz I wouldn’t. Drinking coffee from a heated cup is a different experience than drinking from and regular or insulated cup, the coffee is the same temperature for each drink as long as it has power.
I have used Yeti and HydroFlask cups in the hopes of lingering over a cup of hot coffee in the morning, but the last ounces were always cool/cold. This mug is an indulgence, but I do love it. I can linger as long as I want and my coffee stays hot. Perfect way to start my day!
I also like to drink hot water throughout the day. This mug provides the even temperature that allows me to drink an entire mug of water that stays hot.
I would highly suggest the 14 oz mug over the 10 oz. It is worth the extra money.
It was a thank you gift for a friend. She already has one at her permanent home, but wanted one for her beach condo.
I was pleased that this mug was advertised as improved scratch resistant, although nothing was mentioned on the packaging so I am a bit sceptical. I would of thought if they had improved the main bugbear of this, they would be shouting about it. It does seem to be better, but that maybe because I have more experience with how to clean them effectively now.
More importantly my son purchased one of these from the same supplier and received a pillow instead, this is still not remedied.. The rising price of these cups is making them a target for fraud.
Looks very nice. I like the ceramic white finish. Easy to clean. The battery life is good so far. You can always rest it on the provided charger so it is always charged. It heats your drink to the exact temperature every time.
I made a cup of coffee this morning but had to leave for a bit. I returned an hour later and my original cup of coffee was hot and drinkable.
I have since bought two more for another home.

I really wanted to love this mug, working from home hot coffee is a must. It does what it says, it keeps your beverage hot but if you use cream in your coffee it cooks the cream and leaves a scum of curdled cream floating in your coffee. Not a deal breaker..I can drink my coffee black and then use a standard mug if I want some cream but something I thought I’d share for those that must have cream and are grossed out by chunks floating in their coffee.
Great cup and I really like the functionality. I cannot say I like the price…
The phone app is functional. It would be nice to see the temp and battery life on the same screen rather than having to go into the settings to see the current battery level.
The cup detecting automatically detecting when hot liquid is added, keeping it heated until the cup is empty, and then going back into a standby mode is great.
I’m so obsessed with this mug. I’m a classic “oh, wait where’s my tea/coffee?!” Kind of mom and this cup makes me feel less annoyed by that quality of mine! It keeps my drink hot for so much longer than necessary and I can customize it in the app. A friend recommended this to me and the price had me feeling a little guilty (I mean come on I could just microwave my drink right?) but after the 4th time I lost my cup and it was still hot when I found it, I stopped feeling guilty. I can read and drink my tea and not rush. Seriously my favorite mug. It’s not big enough for my morning coffee, but for mid day or evening beverages I highly recommend.
I bought 2 of these for myself and for my wife a black and white. very happy. it keeps my tea hot exactly at a fixed temperature till I leave my office. it’s a good buy. will buy it again and got interested in this brand. loved it.
I absolutely LOVE this mug! It is a little pricey for a coffee mug but it’s well worth it. It saves me from running to the microwave a few times reheating my coffee. From the first sip to the last it’s a constant 145 degrees… just like I like it.

I purchased two of them and our daughter-in-law like ours, so we bought her one. Now the downside: One failed after a couple of weeks. It flashed an error sequence of lights and would not charge. I texted the company who replied the same day asking for a short video of the flashing light and a photo of the bottom of the mug. I sent both of those immediately. I then did not hear from them for over a week. a couple of texts asking for an update got no response. I then contacted the seller asking for a return and refund. They responded asking that I contact the manufacturer first. I told them I had, but hen coincidently the manufacturer contacted me the next day saying a new mug was in the mail. It along with the other 2 mugs purchased have worked flawlessly for two months.
I love this mug. No more microwave coffee where my coffee would ultimately end up down the drain. It keeps my coffee the same temperature and keeps it fresh.
Its not perfect….every now and then the app won’t see the mug…which is annoying….but hey. Liveable problem. Also I got the white mug and you can see the ring of the burner on the bottom of the mug. Also it has some chips… so be gentle w your spoon. Opt for plastic for better wear and tear. Otherwise I love this mug. Life changing! Lol.
I use this daily and really enjoy it! Battery life is ok. For 1 drink its more than enough but if you drink hot tea or coffee throughout the day be prepared to have your charger near by. Get the black mug if you drink tumeric tea. Bluetooth connection issues made it so I can’t update my mug (which was required out of the box.) im not an idiot and have tried numerous times to make it happen but it always drops the connection in the updating process. that being said it still works great but could probably work better.
Purchased this for my wife who loves her morning coffee and evening coffee. Previously, she was constantly using the microwave to keep re-heating her coffee. This mug has solved the problem. She loves it. Her coffee is always hot now and is completely controllable via her phone. I wasn’t sure if this was just going to be a gift that would stick or if she would use it a few times and go back to her old system. She’s not going back. The product works as advertised. It is very nice quality, easy to use, and keeps her coffee continuously at the temperature she likes. I highly recommend it. It makes a nice surprise gift for anyone you know who loves a good, hot cup of coffee.

Coffee drinkers have something in common. Coffee is perfect as soon as brewing has been completed, and it goes downhill from there. It quickly cools or, if kept on the burner or hot plate, it gets bitter pretty fast. Now imagine a “smart mug” that keeps the same temperature all the time and, as having been brewed through a K-cup pod, it hasn’t any grounds at the bottom, maintaining its fresh and just having been brewed flavor and temperature perhaps all day. That defines the Ember Temperature Control Smart Mug 2. I didn’t believe it could behave as advertised and you would be right not to believe it either. It has an internal battery that communicates with a nicely fit coaster. The mug on its own knows when there is coffee inside and proceeds to maintain the temperature you have programmed. The battery in the mug is good for more than an hour, if you’re on the move, and for as long as needed if the mug is set on its coaster. It’s all electronic and so the unit doesn’t get hot. And the mug itself is very sturdy. I have lost a few mugs when drying them after washing and having the handle break off in my hands. Not with this one. It appears to actually be a perfectly molded metal cup with a ceramic baked exterior. So, the handle can’t break off. I am careful when washing the mug to try to keep the bottom side dry, but the company says the mug can be fully submerged in water. This mug is like alien technology! Okay, it’s pricey when compared to a mug you’d buy at your favorite discount store, but take the total cost and divide it by the endless number of perfect cups of coffee and you will see that it’s actually a bargain. I don’t know how I ever did without it.
I bought this as a gift for my brother-in-law. He often has to get up and leave his desk during his workday and now his coffee remains warm until he gets back. Great gift! It’s a unique gift for someone that can be tricky to shop for.
It take me hours to drink a cup of coffee, and this mug definitely makes the experience better — especially because its best when it’s piping hot!
The mug only heats to 145F. I wish it went a bit higher. Also, the handle is not comfortable to hold. It’s a bit thin and wimpy for the weight of the mug.
I do like that it turns on automatically when you pour coffee into it, and that it turns itself off when empty.

Gave this to wife who is an avid coffee drinker and always leaves a mug half full due to low temperatures. She loves it and is one of her favorite gifts. I cannot speak to durability at this time but has held up on daily use.
Don’t know how I lived without it. I can now sip my coffee at the perfect temperature all morning. I used to make my coffee (or tea), get busy and sip it to find it cold. Microwave it – forget it in the microwave and find it cold again. It was a never-ending cycle of re-heating. Now, I make my coffee and sip it all morning. The cup keeps it perfect. I then make hot tea in the afternoon and evening and sip it for hours – maintaining a wonderful experience all day. Works fabulously.
I love to drink coffee, tea, and hot chocolate, but I’m just a really slow drinker. Before getting this mug I’d almost always have to reheat my drink in the microwave. Sometimes more than once or twice. The reheated beverages never tasted as good as the fresh drinks, so I’d often waste a half to almost full cup.
Now I never have to reheat my drinks in the microwave. And even if I take longer than 80 minutes (so that the cup turns off), the Ember mug will bring my drink back up to temperature quickly, so I still avoid the microwave.
This is a fantastic product, and you (or a slow-drinking friend or loved one) will be so glad you got this.
This is my second Ember, I accidentally ordered the 10oz first instead of the 14oz. My sister now has the 10oz. I like to sip my white choc mocha and the charge outlasts me every time! It heats from the bottom, not the sides, I will have to stir occasionally. $100-$140 is a lot for a coffee mug but I would do it again and again. BT-Dubbs, my sister loves it!

Not taking an unexpected mouthful of cold coffee is amazing. Bought it on a Sunday, lent it to my wife on Tuesday, and we had two by Wednesday morning.
I have tested the ember mug for a few months now and I have to say I do love the mug can warm itself. A USB mug warmer works but the lack of portability really limits it’s usage. However, the app and the Bluetooth connection leaves much to be desired. Tap connect through the app is non-existent, I always have to hold down the pair button for repair every time. And just recently, the repair has stopped working half of the time and I have to do a reset for the app to register the mug is not empty and it should start warming.
It’s a pleasure to pick up a cup of coffee and find the temperature is not tepid. It looks well made but I have heard that dish much be kept dry or it could short out the electronics. True or false, I make sure I do that. You can set the temperature between 135 degrees and 145 degrees. I wish it was an ounce or two bigger but otherwise I’m very satisfied.
BUT DOES IT SOLVE THE COLD COFFEE PROBLEM?
Ember is expensive. For that price, it should ensure I never have cold coffee again. Unfortunately, that is not entirely true. Ember will keep your coffee hot, but only until the battery runs out. For the 14 oz mug, this takes around 1.5 hours when fully charged. Like most coffee drinkers, you might down the first cup in 15 minutes, the second over the next 1/2 hour, but that last cup may sit on your desk for an hour or more while you’re busy. Then when you get a moment to take a sip; ugh, cold disgusting coffee.
So the WHOLE story is that Ember will keep the first and 2nd cups piping hot, provided you finish them within the 1.5 hour battery life. But honestly, I didn’t search for a $120+ coffee cup for the first 2 cups of the day. I searched for a way to keep that 3rd cup hot, for an hour or more if possible.
My first attempt to work around the short battery life was to use a standard coffee cup for the first 2 cups, and then use Ember for the 3rd. This did help, and the 3rd cup stayed hot longer. But not long enough for me. And should I really have to jump through extra hoops for a coffee cup that costs over $120?? I didn’t think so and had made up my mind to return it.
DON’T GIVE UP, THERE IS HOPE!
Thankfully, before giving up and sending Ember back, I searched on Ember’s website for ways to extend the battery life.
And there I found the HOLY GRAIL… EMBER can heat your coffee while sitting on the “newly redesigned charging coaster”, WITHOUT using your battery!
WHY didn’t I find this sooner! All I had to do was move the charging coaster to my desk, instead of next to the coffee pot. Clouds parted, stars aligned, and now my 3rd cup will stay hot all day if I want. And I don’t notice any difference with the coaster on my desk. It is so slim and sleek, I don’t even notice it sitting in that spot that was reserved for my coffee cup anyway.
FINALLY, HOT COFFEE ALL DAY! I would give Ember 6 starts if I could, for finally solving the cold coffee dilemma. Thank you Ember for such an amazing product. Might be worth HIGHLIGHTING the ability to keep your cup hot for hours provided the charging coaster is used.
My wife bought this for me. I thought it was cute but just another tech toy. After a month I’m totally sold and I am buying one for her. Having my coffee stay hot while I go to meetings and work with others is amazing. Of course everyone has to ask why my coffee has a light in the base.
The one irritation is that I am always having to re-pair the cup. It should handle Bluetooth reconnects much smoother.
Boy am I glad I found this mug! I used to reheat my tea at least twice per cup in the microwave and half the time I would still throw some away or find the cup in the microwave the next day because I’d forgotten about it. No more. My tea is hot until the last drop. You can set the temperature to your desired level too. The kids each bought one for Dad for Fathers Day too, one for his office and one for home. He said it was the best Father’s Day gift ever. I would totally recommend this product.
I love the mug, it works but the app for the phone seems to have problems staying connected to the mug. I am having to uninstall the app and re install it about every other day. When the app is connected it is a very useful app and I love it. So besides the inconvenience of having to uninstall and re install I really love the mug. It is easy to use and works even if it isn’t connected to the app. The outside of the mug stays at a comfortable temperature to easily hold in your hands without burning yourself. The finish of the mug appears like it can be easily scratched or marked by a metal spoon so I have been careful to only use it with a wooden spoon and after daily use over several weeks the mug has been looking and working well. I would recommend this product. UPDATE: after contacting the company directly, they gave me a couple troubleshooting instructions that resolved the app issue of not staying connected to my phone. Good customer service, they even followed up with me to see if the troubleshooting instructions were successful. Again, I would recommend this mug.
My overall rating is an average of the mug itself and the app used to control the mug. Overall, I love the mug so far, but there is definite room for improvement on the app.

The mug itself is awesome. Clean, attractive appearance. Easy to hold and drink from. It heats exactly as advertised. Battery life (so far) as advertised. It was amazing to have my last sip of coffee be just as hot as the first sip!
The Ember App: 3 out of 5
The app is hit-and-miss on functionality on an android phone. The mug set up perfectly first try and cleanly updated firmware on the mug. But the next morning, the app couldn’t connect to the mug until I removed and readded it. Then the next morning, it connected to the mug, but had the wrong status (status LEDs showed the mug fully charged, but the app thought the battery was low and therefore would not allow me to set a temperature). There was no way to force the app to refresh mug status and I was unwilling to try removing/readding the mug again. From forum searches, this has been an on-going issue. Luckily, I had an apple device and was able to download the app there and it appears to work so far. Also, I’m unsure why an app that controls a mug needs to have location services permissions, but it seems to work if even if you deny the permission.
I read reviews about the ember mug itself stating the ceramic was flaking off the bottom of the interior of the mug. The user guide clearly states metal utensils can cause damage to the ceramic coating. Only use plastic or wooden spoons in the ember mug.
So far I love my ember. The only criticism I have is it is quite costly.
If you are a slow coffee drinker you must on one of these! I am one of those people who loves my coffee, but somehow manages to take an hour to drink it. Now, instead of microwaving it and inevitably having that burnt nuked flavor, this amazing cup keeps it at the perfect temperature until I’m done. Really a one-of-a-kind splurge on myself that I will never regret.
