Had many solar powered PIR lights that have given little light and failed quite quickly. This unit is small very bright and does an excellent job of illuminating a dark stairwell.

I purchased this little light back in June 2021 (it’s now Dec 2023). It’s a brilliant product…bright light…motion sensor works great…battery life great. I’ve fitted it at the back gate which is in daily use and in an area that gets wet a lot. The only drawback are the screw fixings, as they are a bit fiddly but manageable. FYI: works on 4xAA batteries which I have changed once in 2.5 years…not bad!

These work great. Come with sticky pads or can be hung on screws provided. I used the stick pads on the outside of 3 sheds and they work great. None thing I like is they stay on for a set period of time unless you are for example doing soemthung outside and they stay on which is grea

I had the big brother of this light from another company some years back and I hoped this smaller version would suffice for my needs.

I was a bit dubious but it’s great. It’s as in your face as the bigger one but the light is equally as bright.

Registered the warranty just in case. For the money it’s well worth it.

Very light but appears to be well designed and made. Mounted 9 feet iff the ground gives a 25 foot diameter pool of light. Happy.

Had rodent scurrying under fence every night from next door – set this up got the angle right and waited. It came on as rodent made appearance at usual time and scared it off! Doesnt come over into my back anymore. Very powerful light for such a small thing. Size makes it easy to locate, can adjust angle. Going to get another one or two for the attic later.

I was a bit disappointed with the range of the sensor, but maybe I hadn’t checked the details before ordering. The light was intended for outdoor use but is now proving useful indoors at the top of the stairs. It lights the way to the bathroom at night which saves needing a main light on.

Not the easiest to install with the screw fixings and don`t expect to be blinded by the light output but overall does a job to light the way along the path to the house.

My mains connected PIR light had packed up and I needed to replace it quickly until I can contact my electrician. Thought this would be a good temporary replacement. Very pleased so far although I only fitted it yesterday. I’ve had to fix it to a brick wall, but as an elderly lady, I managed it!

I’ve had one of these cameras for a few months now. So far the high capacity AA rechargeables I put in seem to be still OK though it doesn’t get triggered much.
It just dropped a star because the plastic on the battery holder can ‘give’ a little and the batteries slip out until they hit the case. Still works but it can be clunky to unscrew the case with the batteries rubbing the side. It may just be a case that the AA batteries I’m using are slighty oversize by a micro millimeter . Not sure.

Product as described – lightweight security light. Easy to install – fixing screws could be larger I used my own to make fixing to outside wall more secure.
Does what it says – lighting area about 3 metres – bright light , enough to make someone stop and think but only illuminates the immediate area.
Have purchased again since buying original light.

Perfect for lighting an under stair cupboard. Range of motion detection is very wide, and the light is very bright, so now as soon as I open the cupboard door the light turns on and I can see all the contents. About 15 seconds after I close the door, the light goes off again. I particularly wanted one like this that runs off AA batteries so that I can use rechargeable Eneloop batteries.

Less bright than I expected, but perfectly suitable for intended use (light garden gate).

Very easy to install; the adesive disc is surprisingly strong, I did not think it would have work, but it has, I did not need to use screws.

    Motion detection absolutely fine.

Mine is positioned in a fairly sheltered spot, so I cannot comment on waterproofness.
I have had id for about a week or so, so I cannot comment on battery life either.

So far, I am pretty satisfied with it. As long as batteries last a decent amount, I would recommend it.

If you want a small, convenient, motion-sensitive light for a dark corner, this is ideal. Easy to fix, and battery operated. The light is not bright, but it is sufficient for a small area. So far, it has proved weatherproof, but it does not have a certification for this.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersFirst of all lets get the bad things out the way.

Compared to a mains light, ofcourse it’s not going to be as bright powered by 4 AA’s, but this is sold on portability and ease of use which it excels at. The manual points out the bulbs are 2x 0.5watt, making this equivalent to a 10w halogen (think cooker hoods/low quality garden solar lights/oven lamps). Bear in mind that this is a spotlight, not floodlight, so its smallish directed beam is brighter than I would expect of 1w LED

The casing does not have any rubber seals around the battery compartment, making the surviveability of the unit in heavy rain not 100% likely, although the screw-fit compartment does look snug enough to hold up to light/medium. Because of this I’d recommend placing somewhere slightly sheltered if at all possible.

There is enough room in the wall mount casing to attach screw end suction cups for window/metal mounting options.

The detection sensor on the unit is not quite up to the stated 5m range, but it does activate from only my head movement from 3m. It is possible the sensor works up to 5m if it was activated by something bigger like a car on a driveway.

All in all, you get what you pay for. Overall 6.5/10

The level of light is just what I was looking for as it’s more a pooled ambient light than glaringly bright.

Basic instructions but fairly obvious steps to follow. Would have appreciated a “hole guide” to assist in the drilling. However the sticky pad rescued the situation. Used these lights to light up walk way around house & as security lights as well. We found them very good for our purpose and excellent value for the price. They are not heavy duty spotlights and we therefore needed several which was not a problem at that price. With AA batteries, the unit did not become heavy in weight. Have to be careful to align the 2 screws with the 2 holes at the back of the light unit. There was a problem with one unit (apparently due to Amazon error) but the Seller immediately and without any fuss sent a replacement direct to us without going through Amazon. We found the Customer Service from the Seller as excellent, prompt and efficient. Ratings are relative to price.

I have lost count of the many solar products I have purchased to light up various dark spots around my property so I decided to give a battery product a go despite doubters telling me that I’d be forever buying new batteries. Up to now their customer service was excellent but unfortunately as I believe I found and reported a quality issue they have gone silent. In total I bought three of these lights which I was very pleased with at first then one of the lights led bulbs started to flicker. I contacted the supplier to report this and they offered a replacement which I was very satisfied with. It came quickly. I offered to return the old light which they didn’t want me to do. A couple of weeks later a second light started doing the same thing so I contacted the supplier suggesting the may have a quality issue as this is 2nd out of 3 lights (so far) that developed the same problem. I once again offered to return the light so they could examine it but despite sending a few emails Proxinova have not responded. These lights aren’t even a year old and I’m so disappointed that I cannot recommend them anymore!

I purchased 2 of these lights for my front and back door. When received one worked perfectly the other had an issue as it was coming on and staying on instead of going off after 30 seconds. I contacted the seller with the issue and they responded quickly and sent a replacement which works as expected. Great customer service, I wouldn’t hesitate in buying anymore of their products.

I would have liked the sensor and light range to be a little larger but this is very good for the price. Used the sticky pad to mount to window frame and seems secure so far. Going to purchase another for the other side of the driveway. Update: after a few days found light on concrete drive broken apart as sticky pad had failed. The good news is that I managed to reassemble and still works. Be warned against using the sticky pad though as definitely not strong enough to hold.

Arrived on time, well packaged, and in goid condition. Simple to set up and put up (although I would recommend the screw fixings rather than the sticky pad). Lots of adjustment. Its not a security light, so not super bright, but easily good enough for what we want it for ie to light up the back door and surrounding area (2m out from the door) on dark nights so you can see your keys etc! I used the screw fixing option, located the screws vertically and then added plate above as the unit was installed under a porch, protected from weather, and needed to stop someone just lifting the unit off the screw fixings. It may also be useful to have a screw fixing to stop the sensor/battery compartment being unscrewed and taken?

bit tricky to put up as the screws supplied were no good (to small) had to use washers with larger screws, but the washers couldnt rest behind the bracket, light itself is good, but think improvements, need to be made in the actuall bracket that secures to the wall.

This sensor light is really good. It’s simple to install, unscrew the front and fit 4 AA batteries as indicated, I used 4 rechargeable cells, it’s a bit early to say how long these will last between charges but the amount of light is fine to light up my doorway. There are screws & plugs to fit to a wall and also an adhesive pad as an option. The sensor is very quick to react and switches on as soon as I open the door to leave and illuminates around 3 – 4 metres with a good, bright light. I have angled the sensor so that it activates around 2m from the door, great to find the step & lock. The light is on for 25 seconds and there is nothing to adjust. I am very pleased with the product and the supplier.

Golden Review Award: 15 From Our UsersTheres a few negative reviews here, which I don’t quite understand. I suppose it’s all about expectations. This is a perfectly good little light. Small, compact, lightweight (so the sticky pad fixing option should be just fine – mines screwed in with the supplied rawl plugs and screws) and easy to fit.

It’s not a full blooded security “turn night in to day” light. If you’re looking for that, pay to get a mains spotlight wired in to your 240V. This is a perfect “light up your patio or driveway” light, so you don’t stumble over things at night. I bought one to try for using it out the back, for the patio, and it’s perfect. I’m ordering a couple more for the driveway. Having said it’s not a full on security light, it is none the less pretty bright and the motion sensor works well. Plenty of light for those evenings sat outside. It’s adjustable to just about any angle and feels like it will stay in that position for ever.

There’s also been some contradiction on batteries required. This particular one is 4 x AA. Batteries are easy to fit, just by twisting off the front bit, so will be simple when it comes time to replace them. Not had it long, so can’t comment on battery life. It does feel quite flimsy and light, but I’m not exactly going to be strapping hanging baskets to it. It’s absolutely fine, with the light weight being a bonus if you want to use the sticky pad fixing option.

Like many other householders I have some VERY patches around my house. Round by the shed I keep the 3 main bins. This is no problem in the summer but in winter it’s a nightmare because it is just SO dark round there. I bought a similar lighting kit from Homebase about 3 years ago but it never really did the trick as the battery case had to be held together with Blu-tak and insulating tape – and even then it was temperamental. This new Proxinova is just great. Very simple to install, the sensor is razor sharp and picks me up the moment I reach the edge of the darkness. The light is not super bright but then I don’t need it to be – it lights up the shed and bins area really well and 25 seconds of light is more than enough. Makes me want to find some more dark places that would benefit from some lighting so I can justify buying another. Great piece of kit.

Golden Review Award: 11 From Our UsersPurchased this for an elderly friend who has moved into accommodation, where the front door is set back and has no visible light . Either for her to see the door key latch or whoever may be outside. looked thro Amazon for a suitable small light and came up with this.
Well boxed with excellent instructions, and included a 3M stick patch and mounting screws with rawlplugs. It does not include batteries.
The front assy unscrews and you have exposure to the battery assy and the mounting plate.
The base can be screwed or stuck onto a suitable surface , batteries inserted, screwed together, and all is good.
When batteries are first inserted the unit lights up for a minute or so then turns off. The integral motion sensor at its best works at dusk and better still in darkness. The instructions state not to push the switch to off but to leave where factory set, but we could not find this switch, so not an issue.
The light against the base has up/down, clock /anticlock, and rotation movements, so can be ideally positioned and pointed.
The front face has 2 LED and the motion sensor, and is best positioned when it is getting dark to check it’s best position and mounting. Then rotated to get the best possible from it.
This lamp gave a bright white light and lit up all that we wanted, porch and doorway. motion sensing was very good with auto turn off at 20 secs. No idea how long the batteries will last, but the LED’s will flash to show the 4 batteries need changing.
All in all this is an excellent outside light for small areas, and what matters most is that our friend is totally happy with it, it gives her the additional security that she was looking for..

This seems like a quality product. Time will tell if it’s waterproof long term but it’s still working after a few weeks of heavy rain. It produces a good focused beam of white light of about 30 degrees width. There is slight fringing of colour at the edges of the light beam but not a problem. Battery life seems good with no noticeable drop in brightness in a few weeks. Sensitivity is great detecting movement as far away a 8 metres and from extreme angles. The light stays on for about 30 seconds.

Great little gizmo. Just wanted a light bright enough and with enough range to be over front door and it does the job. Because of where we were putting it, we couldn’t screw it in. While a pad comes with it, we’ve just used some extra strong weatherproof tape. Only downside is the battery set up is a bit of a faff. Rather than put them in ‘the lid’, they’re in the bottom so you have to undo the tiny screws to get the batteries in. Not been tested against weather yet but it’ll be in a fairly sheltered area. Feels like it would be ok though as fairly sturdy.

Golden Review Award: 7 From Our UsersSo when this arrived I thought, hold on, plastic and lightweight, more cheap rubbish, and there are cheaper priced options available that look the same, BUT, having installed the bracket (I used the supplied screws and raw plugs), and then screwed the light figment into it, you realise how very simple and straightforward this light is. It’s difficult for me to assess the light strength because my local authority have suddenly decided to leave the street lights on all night, so my porch/drive is brighter, but the light is easy to adjust to get it in right place, and it definitely activated as soon as I leave the house. Think I might get one for my garden shed at bottom of the garden.

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersThe lights were easy to install. I ordered one but didn’t find it lit up a wide enough area so I ordered two more. I have attached all three to the side of my garage and they light up the path and area round my side door. They come on as soon as the door is opened when I let the dog out at night. I had hoped from reading other reviews that they would be brighter but the light they give is adequate. They have been subjected to heavy rain since being installed and don’t seem to have suffered so seem to be waterproof as stated. I am happy with the purchase and feel they are value for money.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI have only had the light installed for just over a week so it’s a little earlier to judge the battery life but I am really pleased with it. The brightness of the light is not over-powering but I didn’t want a light that was blinding – just enough light to enable me to enter my property without fumbling in the dark to find the right key. It’s a compact unit and was easy to install. I am delighted with my purchase and would recommend it to potential purchasers. The light was reasonably priced and the company efficient in their delivery of it.

Golden Review Award: 8 From Our UsersI don’t normally write reviews but decided to on this occasion – I purchased two lights a few months ago and they worked out so well I purchased another five. Although a small product in size they emit just the right amount of light, not too bright and not too dull. They took a couple of minutes to install and come on at just the right time (at dusk) – motion sensor works great – once triggered will say on for a little while and then turn off which saves the battery. would recommend this product for family BBQ’s and security lighting –

Golden Review Award: 17 From Our UsersThe unit only activates when daylight falls below a certain level and the sensor picks up movement. It provides very good light (much too bright to look at directly) so it will act as a deterrent if anyone passes it, and you no longer need to play hunt the lock when trying to insert your key at night. The unit stays lit for about 25-30 seconds once activated. The battery operated light is pretty easy to fix to a building wall, needing three holes drilling. Plugs and screws provided and obviously no need to call in an electrician – no wires.
The light position can be adjusted both up and down, and towards, away from the wall it is mounted on and has a good arc of coverage. The unit takes four D cell batteries which you will need to replace maybe two or three times a year depending on what activates the light where you mount it (I have had a separate unit for a couple of years so know the rough battery usage). You do NOT need to dismount the whole unit from the wall, or fiddle with any screws, to replace the batteries. The battery compartment unlocks/ locks from the rest of unit with a twist. Just put in new batteries and lock back on.
    Gets my vote.

I bought this product to light up an internal garage to save me switching the light on all the time. It seemed to work fine, sensor timer etc but it produced no more light than a bright LED torch. Unfortunately the advert on Amazon did not make it clear how bright it was. It should have given the brightness in lumens. It would be fine for a small passageway, but do not expect it to light up the drive.
