Bought this after trying a cheaper version which just wouldn’t work over the length I needed. Plug and play and worked 1st time. Used to display cctv in a out building as well as in the house so used the 2 hdmi ports on transmitter unit which was a bonus!
Picture is clear and no lag over a cat5e cable of I think about 35 to 45m.
Don’t waste your time on the cheaper versions.
Cant comment for durability fingers crossed its good.

Did not work well over short Ethernet cables via dhcp using 2x gigabit unmanaged switches which is why I chose this product. Had to use GB PLE and work well most of time occasional breaking up. So I may as well of brought for half the price a hdmi extender over Ethernet. I use several hdmi matrix’s and I have reboot to clear the blank image weekly. I doubt this would happen for most standard setups.

    Nachtrag 09.2022:

We have cat 5 cabling in our house but it’s not the best as they cable type as quite dated (CCA). Over the years we have had a number of similar but not IP device but they always become unreliable because we only have one cable to each room – many require 2 cables. This works perfectly in full 1080p with no disruption. There were a couple of issues. As mentioned by another reviewer, the built in HDMI passthrough doesn’t support CIC so my soundbar wouldn’t work on the main TV. We already had a splitter so it wasn’t a problem but it would have been nice to eliminate it. I also couldn’t get it work via my unmanaged gigabit switch – it would constantly stutter. This was solved by patching the 2 ports together and bypassing the switch. I think I managed hub would have had multicast options. Despite these issues this is the best product of this type we had had so far.

I bought one of these to try out for a projection set up, it worked very well, so decided on selling the install for clients to have cctv on other screens, this unit is great as I can keep adding more screens on one by one with very little limitations, however I’m a little dubious on buying more as I bought a second set to install for a client and they worked for 6 months. Issues of them stopping working started cropping up after the 6 month mark.

Had to buy a new set after they failed some how. No activity on network switch but all the lights were on on these boxes. Reset didn’t do anything from what I could tell either.

Hopefully the replacements that I’ve had to get last longer than 6 months.

Not seen any other people have an issue after time but time will tell again.

This HDMI signal extender over the network is perfect for live streaming or other applications that require a high-quality signal. It’s simple to set up and supports resolutions up to 1080p. Plus, it works with Cat 5e or Cat 6 cabling, so you can be sure you’ll get the best possible performance.

Golden Review Award: 10 From Our UsersI bought this extender to send a Sky Q signal around my home, so first thing’s first:
    1. No this is not the same as a “cat5 HDMI extender” which look identical but do not work over a network
    2. Yes this does work with Sky Q
    3. Yes this does support HDCP eg. netflix
    4. Yes this does work over an existing home network eg. via routers and switches (read on for detail)
    5. Yes this does work over powerlines
    6. The transmitted resolution is 1080p but this also means less network traffic which is a good tradeoff
    7. No there is no IR passthrough but a Sky Q remote is bluetooth so works all over the house
    8. There is no perceptible latency/delay, unlike RF modulators

The above is with Caveats which I needed additional equipment (see below) to resolve:
    1. Local HDMI loopback has voice sync issues
    2. Local HDMI loopback only supports 1080p resolution requiring sky box to only output 1080p to local TV
    3. Local HDMI loopback does not pass through HDMI CEC so TV can no longer switch to the correct channel automatically or turn the sky box on
    4. The kit requires AC power which is annoying as it requires an additional socket, plus less peace of mind when leaving plugged in
    5. While the transmitter works fine over my home’s existing wired ethernet to a switch then back to my router, my network speeds suffered due to the large amount of multicast traffic

How I resolved the above issues:
1,2,3. I bought the following HDMI splitter https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B0997SQWNS – this supports CEC 4K output to HDMI 1 (which went to my local TV) and 1080p output to HDMI 2 (which went to the transmitter) – the built in loopback is now unused and this solved issues 1,2 and 3 for me.
    4. I bought the following USB to DC power cable https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B009JXJITS – the transmitter and receivers are now powered by the USB ports in the TV and power down when the TV is turned off
    5. I bought a set of powerlines to separate the traffic from my home network https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B01N3YCC7R – this is not strictly necessary but saved me upgrading my router to something that could handle the traffic and allows me to reach any room without an ethernet jack

So my end setup ended up as:
Sky Q 4k output -> HDMI splitter -> port 1 outputs 4K CEC to my local TV -> port 2 outputs 1080p to transmitter powered by USB cable -> transmitter connected to powerline
Receiver powered by USB cable -> connected to powerline -> input to bedroom TV

    General comments:
    – Picture quality is excellent although I had to turn my receiving TV over to PC mode in order to remove the post processing judder that the TV added itself – there is no judder from the device itself
    – Latency is zero to the human eye – it’s close to unbelievable, especially compared to RF modulators which add a half second delay
    – I noticed a dropped frame here and there when plugged into my sky router – this is due to the poor router rather than the transmitter and powerlines resolved the issue for me (as would a better router probably)
    – I turned off auto TV power on in sky q settings so my living room tv doesn’t turn on when i use sky upstairs

A great piece of kit with the correct support - a guide with the setup that worked for me

Excellent product. I bought it as a project for use with my old, reliable Sky + hd box to other TVs in my house than my main lounge TV. Excellent picture quality especially when routed with CAT 7 Ethernet cable & connectors.

The only problem I had was that only a few of the Sky channels gave any sound on all TVs, including the lounge TV.

However, I fixed this last night by changing my Sky box HDMi sound output setting from the default of DOLBY to NORMAL. I probably also need to change the OPTICAL sound output setting to NORMAL for the Sky OPTICAL output to my old Panasonic surround sound system, but I don’t use this much these days

I have no idea why this problem affected some of the channels eg. BBC News but not BBC 1, Sky channels but not all of them, unless it’s something to do with the bandwidth.

Used this in a pinch to replace a defective HDMI sender in a theatre environment and wasn’t expecting much for 60 but am very impressed with this unit for the price.

We used it as a point-to-point (i.e. not via a switch) over a distance of about 80m without issue through a couple of facility panels with old and largely unshielded cabling around a lot of LED lighting, mains power, microphone cables, and in a room with 18 radio microphones on various frequencies and 2.4Ghz wireless systems without issue (a cheaper, non-IP-based, unit produced interference on some of these and was also affected by them whereas this was immune to any interference)

The mild latency was noticeable but not irritating, I’d think it’s fine for electronic signage or transmitting TV signals or similar – but I’d avoid using it for IMAG type applications.

Molto soddisfatto.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersBon producte.

Golden Review Award: 8 From Our UsersAd un prezzo veramente conveniente ho comprato un transmitter e 4 receiver.
    Aspettative? ZERO!
Risultato? Ho dato corrente e in 15 secondi FUNZIONAVA TUTTO!

I am suitably impressed and could have saved a lot of time if I had just gone straight to this product.

Using to stream my security camera DVR HDMI to my office via TP-Link 1300Mbps powerline sockets.
Acceptable over powerline plugs but there are some dropped frames (probably due to noisy mains in my house).
Would also be great for broadcasting your main TV to multiple other TV’s in the house (provided they all watch the same channel).

    Pros:
Very simple to setup (provided you have something assigning IP’s automatically (DHCP)).
Multicasts a TCP/IP stream over your network via switch, router, powerline, wifi, etc.
Can redirect, reroute, VPN the stream as needed.
Has its own web interface for firmware upgrades.

    Cons:
Multicasts sprays data over all ports so you need to VPN it off otherwise it will cause issues with older routers, wifi networks, etc due to the constant traffic.
Had to replace my old netgear router as it kept crashing trying to process the constant stream.

I have purchased and returned two HDMI senders as they just would not work or gave a broken picture without sound etc.
I also tried the dual cat56 connectors which again would not even give a picture.
My cat6 cables are 2 x cables to the main bedroom, exactly 20m cables and 2 x 15m cables to the second bedroom.
I tried a connection through both to make sure it wasn’t the cables.
Finally I purchased these senders which work over TCPIP rather than an HDMI signal and wow, instant faultless pictures in both bedrooms over one single cat6 cable to each room.
I have the Sky box powering a small Edimax usb-powered switch (link after this review) which enables me to connect the sender to another receiver unit in the second bedroom.
Absolutely perfect, I had almost given up before trying these!! 5-Stars!

This HDMI Extender kit comes with 2 plugs, a receiver and a transmitter. It comes well packaged in a small box. Both the transmitter and the receiver are quite small and easy to tuck away when installed. The special feature that makes these amazing is that they support over IP. This means that they can connect to a switch and they have a designated IP address rather than them being connected together with the same ethernet cable. This is great as it prevented me from doing unnecessary drilling as I had a switch already located near my TV.

Another great thing about this kit is the construction. They are well constructed and have a strong outer metal casing. As these are over IP, you can have one transmitter and many receivers as they obtain the same IP address. I’m not sure, as I haven’t tried it, but in theory, these also should work with powerline adapters, but that remains untested. Transmitter also has a local output which is great. The maximum resolution is 1080p which is HD, allowing for perfect movie streaming.

Overall, this HDMI over IP extender kit is very useful and I use it for my workshop, to transmit the signal from my PC to the TV in my workshop. This saves me a lot of money and I don’t need to go buy a dedicated PC for the workshop. Very well made, and great included instructions. Very happy with this product.

Thank you for reading my review and I hope it was helpful.
