Brought these as extra weights for a market stall gazebo. Filled these with gravel. Velcro seal is good and handy loops for moving them about easily. Recommend.

These bags have so far done the job in stabilizing my recently acquired gazebo, which has been a godsend during the hot spell. Reading various on line comments I elected to fill the bags with pea shingle – 2 x 20kg bags was about the right amount, giving approx. 10kg weight on each leg. I cannot comment on water resistance as there has been no rain in living memory! Sturdiness seems good, but time will tell.

Needed heavy weights to keep gazebo grounded in regular gusty winds.
These Riogoo weights do the job and look good too.

I bought these for the gazebo on my balcony.

Although they don’t look as good with them on they match well with the gazebo and have kept it in place through relatively strong gusts of wind.

They attach to the poll with Velcro straps that seem to hold well.

I filled them all with sand and my gazebo has been up for a couple of months now despite my balcony being quite high up and getting a lot of wind.

I don’t know how long they will last for but they seem quite sturdy for a bag and I am hopeful for getting a couple of years out of them.

Keep my gazebo well in place

Wish I’d known about these years ago. Fill up bottles of pop & there you go! If you wanted to fill bottles with sand that would work a treat too but easier with water.

These weights work perfectly well by securing 2 gazebo legs with a 2 litre bottle of water in each pouch ( so 4 bottles in total) on the patio while the other two are fixed into the lawn.

New purchase so will see how they perform over time but quick to fill and install on my gazebo with 5cm legs. Only complaint is one of the handles broke when lifting after filling so could be stronger but not needed after positioning

Once filled with sand (Id recommend 2 bags of play sand from B&Q) as they are easy to fill and the sand is fine and sterile. Use a scoop or a large funnel to fill. Then attach to the poles using the vellcose. No problems so far.

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersMuch bigger than I thought they would be. I use old 1.5 lite drinks bottles filled with water to keep my gazebo in place. I’ve only had to use a pair of them to keep it on the ground. Not sure if they were water resistant; we left it out it the garden for days and it rained twice; when it was time to pack it away it was pretty dry, so it may well be. Please with the purchase.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI bought eight of these quality sand bag pockets to weight down my pop up gazebo.
I am very pleased with them.
I just filled one side of the double pockets, but if filling both sides they can be used to secure tent poles by using the velcro tags, which are sewn into the bags.
They measure approximately 43cm wide on the side the sand goes in, by 38cm deep.
They have a useful lifting tag sewn into the material that runs along the depth of the bag in the centre and forms a loop to the outside edge.
I bought four bags of builders sand from B&Q (2 a bag) and used three to fill just one side of the bags, so six bags will be enough if wanting to fill both pouches.
These are good quality items, which should last for years to come.

Purchased these after water filled weights left a lot to be desired. Work great but needed 2 bags of sand to fill 4. However my gazebo stood sturdy during the past few very windy weeks

  50. SidneyEtienne says:

Easy to use, but the ‘double stitching’ does not apply to the fastening straps and as such on first use one of them broke.

May just be unlucky, but I will update this once they are all used (only used 2 of 4).

    Questionable Quality

  51. laurenjimeson says:

Really did a good job. I used sand, packed tightly and the weight of all 4 pack is enough to hold a 3 x4 metre gazebo in a strong wind. I havent dare risk it in a full blown storm though! I’m very pleased. Thank you.

Zips look to be strong, time will tell. Easy to use and good velcro grips. Be aware that they are relatively small so the total weight of sand is limited. I’ve a 3×3 and I’d say they’re as small as I’d be comfortable with…

These are essentially thick robust nylon webbing bags which hold about half a sack of sand. They each weigh about 10/12 kg.
They seal securely with Velcro and sit around the poles with 2 Velcro straps.
When full they do not wrap tightly on our ,rather thin poles but they are working well.
    You get 4 in pack.

  59. AshleyClamp says:

Easy to fill with sand, used about 2 bags of sand from builders merchant. Much prefer zip top to velcro as easy to close and stays closed. Also like the cylinder shapes as they wrap easily around the gazebo legs. Have used these and guy ropes supplied with gazebo. Have had some blustery nights and all is good. Highly recommend.

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersEasy to fit onto gazebo legs, although one of the bags had a strap which was already starting to pull away from the main fabric, hence the 4 starts.

I filled with Bricks rather than sand so that I could easily move them if required.

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersGreat product. I have 2 weighing down my gazebo and 2 weighing down a trampoline.

Only complaint is that the top hoop is too small to make them easily removeable ( they don’t fit over the feet of my gazebo ) and the straps are not Velcro all the way along ( I can’t tighten the bags to the poles ) – if you know what I mean.

But other than that they are a great product. Would recommend them and will probably buy another set.

  74. ChadTuggle says:

Golden Review Award: 7 From Our UsersPurchased for a 2m x 2m canopy which couldn’t be anchored to the ground due to it being concrete. Filled with sand (there is a strong velcro closure strip when the bag has been filled with sand) they are heavy but easily carried into situ and fit with strong velcro to the struts of the canopy. The bags did get wet, but didn’t ‘leak’ sand and the canopy didn’t move in a stiff breeze. I was confident it could have stood more with these bags anchoring it down. I’ve not given 5* for Water Resistance only because the sand did get wet inside through the closure in the top – but wasn’t a problem . The Velcro – although probably strong enough to take considerable weight – will eventually go but definitely not within the next 12 months or even longer. Well made and does the job promised.

Laid the filled sandbags over the bottom bars on the legs rather than using the fasteners, but pleased now not having to screw gazebo down onto new paving. Tested by recent high winds, I did add temporary concete blocks to give extra weight but the sandbags seem fine for normal weather conditions

  78. Anonymous says:

Fill em with building sand and your gazebo will withstand anything but the strongest winds. Prefer the straps to be more closer fitting to my gazebo poles but they work. If they were an inch taller they’d be easy to close using the velcro fitting and have the weight needed.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThese are great weights.

We added 7.5kg of sand to each weight and put it around each gazebo leg which held the gazebo firmly in place.

Simple but strong velcro open close for compartments for sand (2) and loop with velcro ends to wrap around the poles.

One suggestion for manufacturer would be the square of velcro for around the pole means it does not fit tightly where straps/strips made of velcro would have provided adjustment tight to the pole. This however did not matter in our case and we packed the bags tightly round our poles against a wall. The feet (that fit tightly), meant the poles could not slip up when the wind caught the tarpaulin. Overall did the job.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersFor the person who asked re their empty weight to go camping – the website says that the shipping weight is 499 gm. The bags seem well made with firmly gripping Velcro fastenings. The only down side for me was that the velcro fasteners that attach the weights were too short to go around the 90mm square legs of my metal gazebo so I bought a long velcro strap to go around the whole lot. Most gazebo owners though will have smaller diameter legs to their gazebo and will have no problems.

Very sturdy, easy to fill once you have opened the Velcro tops, I used sand which is an easy filler , once filled I put the bags around the legs , only thing I would like to say is that the veclcro that ties to the marquee legs could be linger to enable a tighter fix other than that , very good

  85. TresaMcGeehan says:

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersThe handle I will not trust when full of sand or any other weight. Its stitched with one line of thread on the handle strap. So I’ll be holding it in other areas. Handle strap should be deeper and properly stitched to support when lifting weight. Other than that value for money. 8/10 ( Just fix the Stitching. )

    Excellent with one Flaw.

They seem to hold my Coleman Event Shelter in place very well on the patio. Hasn’t been really windy yet, but I will update this review with how well they cope when it is. UPDATE these held my shelter firm through all the February storms. AMAZING!!! I’m using sand. It will be very handy on the beach if, as I expect, it works ok. The shelter has been up a week now, with plenty of wet, gusty days, and it hasn’t moved an inch. Amazing! Many thanks!

Does the job. Only negative is the Velcro straps to attach them to a Gazebo, are too long so they hang loose. Not the most secure of attachments to the gazebo leg. Designed for gazebos with large cross section legs. Say 6×6 cm. Will be doing a slight modification with more Velcro to make strap fit 3×3 cm cross section.

Golden Review Award: 7 From Our UsersGot these a while back but wanted to use them a few times. They’re really easy to use and the can fit any gazebo. The straps need to be wrapped round the leg twice which is a pain but will attach the Velcro with a bit of trial and error. The pouches for the weights are Velcro top so simply open, fill and close. They seem like they’re made to be quite strong but I would change the strap so it’s like a belt instead.. through a loop and pull tight.

Golden Review Award: 13 From Our UsersWe decided to start getting our garden ready for summer – so out came the table and chairs and the gazebo.

But this year we decided that we would buy some weight for the gazebo as last year it didn’t stay in place and blow in the wind.

I liked the look of these so decided to give these a go…..

They are really easy to use just fill with what you going to use (sand) and attached by the Velcro strap.

I would recommend filling them with sand as we used bricks and stones and that didn’t really work for us but the sand worked a treat.

They come in a pack of 4 and in black.

I think we will be looking into getting water weights as we have small kids and the sand is proving a bit of a nightmare.
