The only thing I did not like was the glass turn table was cracked and not covered by the years warranty so I had to pay for another to be sent at further expense
My advice to anyone buying this microwave
Is check everything if item is cracked
Send all back and get you money back
I now have a microwave which works
And is up to R/H standard
I bought the kettle and toaster in this honeycomb range ,really stylish ,excellent value for money
Really pleased with this item ,easy to use
Would give 5/5 for looking nice. Honeycomb design is catchy. The dials are however slippery and can be a slight struggle to rotate if hands wet.
Dial function which is fine, does the job and matches the rest of the set wonderfully.
Would have preferred a digital function considering the price.
Simple, easy to use microwave which looks good as it matches my De’Longhi kettle & toaster. Very happy with my purchase.
It has a kettle and toaster in the same make that I got, they look good together. Straight forward to use
Goes great in my kitchen without using to much space up on my worksurface. It Is also easy to use
not complicated.
It’s a nice microwave but it is small inside !! You can’t get a normal size plate in.
But to be fair I only use it it heat up my dogs food so it’s good for me
First of all the microwave does not have a light inside . It’s too small . If you just need to reheat good on small containers this will be ok but otherwise it’s not worth the price . Definitely looks chic and beautiful.
Bought this microwave to match the kettle we already had and I have been impressed with the quality. It’s really fast at defrosting meat and great for cooking smaller snacks throughout the day. Not only does it work really well, but it looks great on the counter – I would definitely recommend!
I bought this to match the kettle and toaster I already have. Reasonably priced and works as you’d expect. I only use it to heat up the occasional plate of leftovers but it is quite small if you plan on doing any more than that.
Only drawback was the turntable did not rotate. One quick message to Amazon replacement on the way. Thank you Amazon for your prompt service. Looking forward to a fully working model.
Update microwave replaced today in double quick times. Works perfectly. Thank you Amazon for your prompt and efficient service. Phil lee.
Really like it so easy to use and looks lovely
It’s easy to use and easy to clean my kitchen is more beautiful
Great microwave for our trailer. Recently remodeled a trailer to a camper and needed a small microwave. Not disappointed at all by Russell Hobbs’s model.
It is great for cooking breakfast sandwiches, reheating food, and anything else needed while camping. The size is exactly what we were looking for as it doesn’t take up much space. Very happy with the way it works, the dial controllers. Does the job.
Easy to use, easy to clean, exactly what we needed!
Recommended!
Compact and stylish. Exactly what I needed for my small space.
Door sounds like tin but very nice looking micro wave
It takes a little time to learn how to cook on a microwave. The internet is useful to ask questions but also neighbours tips on best methods.
The microwave is simple to use. Looks good and works well
This is the Russell Hobbs Honeycomb RHMM715B 17 Litre 700W Black Solo Manual Microwave. It features 5 Power Levels, Integrated Timer and a Defrost Function.
Aesthetically speaking I would argue this microwave has the best design I ever had. The textures surrounding the modes and timer buttons are attractive and give it a unique charm.
The mirror-like door is simply equally catchy. It is very easy to clean and I always try to spray it from time to time to keep that shiny reflection.
This merges well with the other kitchen utensils and gives a lovely addition to the cupboard.
In terms of performance, it does what it says on the tin. 700W puts this somewhere in the middle in terms of power. There is a clear difference between the power levels which range from low to high. The medium low mode is also labelled a defrosting mode, and I glad that was mentioned on the button.
All in all, we are very pleased with this microwave so far and did not encounter any performance issues in the last two weeks.
Appearance – I love the design and colour. It’s so nice to have something more stylish than a plain white microwave. The microwave is reasonably compact but it is not the smallest microwave I have seen so bear that in mind if space is a big issue for you.
Function – this is a basic manual microwave so you just have two dials. It is perfect for anyone who just uses their microwave to heat up ready meals or someone who will struggle with all the controls on a digital microwave. The drawback is that it is hard to be precise with your cooking times. I was melting some chocolate and the lack of precision was a pain as chocolate should only be in for a short time and this microwave only has minutes on it. If you are wanting to do lots of fancy things with your microwave I would recommend getting a digital one.
Value for money – I do think this is a bit too expensive for a basic manual microwave as it doesn’t do anything more than my Argos one that was less than half the price. If it had been around the 50 mark I would have said it was a good buy. The ‘honeycomb’ range is very stylish so if you have the other items in the range it might be worth paying out a bit more for this microwave.
This is a 17-litre microwave with 5 power levels. I ordered the black color for myself, and it looks great. I really like the mix of silver and black. This microwave is really simple to use with clear timer and mode settings. it has a good capacity, and the best thing is that it’s a great bargain for the price. I really wanted a new microwave for my house. And after using this for a month, I can safely say that it’s a great value for the amount. The functions are easy to use, and it does exactly what you will be expecting.
This microwave is very similar to the Russell Hobbs Inspire microwave. However, the Honeycomb version has that quirky honeycomb design for the dials, which I really like, and the microwave itself looks a tad sleeker overall.
It’s well-built and robust. The handle is sturdy and the door opens and shuts with ease. The dials aren’t flimsy and I have no worries that they’ll wear off anytime soon. The smooth black finish looks quite modern and high-end too.
At 700W, it would take a bit longer to heat up food compared to microwaves 1000W and above, so it can be a bit time-consuming when heating big batches or a number of food plates. The capacity is also not that big, so it doesn’t fit several small plates at once and just about fits my dinner plate or one microwavable food container. But this isn’t really an issue for me. It’s a perfect size for a couple or a small family.
It’s compact and doesn’t occupy a lot of space so great for those short in kitchen space. The different power levels heat up food flawlessly, and I love that it also has a defrost function! Not too noisy when microwaving either. Perfect for a small apartment or dorm.
A very straightforward and high quality appliance. Very stylish – the only potential downside I see with it is that it doesn’t have a digital display, so I can’t tell exactly how long my food has left, but this is very minor. Would be happy to recommend.

Granted, this isn’t your best performing microwave at this price tag; It is a Manual operating one with limited interior space. However, if you only need this to feed one person and need a microwave that is simple to operate, this is perfect! This microwave is very intuitive to operate, especially for those that have never used one before. It is as simple as using one dial for the setting/heat intensity and the other for how many minutes you want it to be heating up your food for.
Of course this comes with its limitations that you cannot add precise times like you would be able to with a digital microwave (ie: 45 seconds), however you will find that the majority of recipes for microwave food require times to the closest minute/30 seconds anyways. However once the times surpass 10 minutes you may need to rely on a traditional stop clock timer if for example you need it on for 29 minutes since this isn’t actually an option on the dial.
With that being said, the design of the microwave is actually quite nice, I love the front panel with both the door and especially the honeycomb design around the dials. This will make for a very modern and sleek microwave on your countertop as it has looked great on mine for the last few weeks! :). I will also mention that the interior of the microwave features a light so you can see the progress of what is cooking easily, but even better, the microwave will make a ‘ding’ sound so you’ll know when your food/drink is ready to enjoy!
Overall, a simple yet beautiful microwave, 4 stars.
Thank you for reading my honest review I hope you found it helpful! 🙂
Very simple to operate – you just turn a dial, no buttons to press.
It’s a bit odd when you have to cook something for less than 2 mins – if you want to heat something for 30 seconds, for instance, you have to set the time to (just over) 2 mins and then dial it down to 30 seconds.
It’s very heavy (typical for microwaves) and was very well packed.
A very low skill microwave which is perfect for someone that prefers a no-fuss microwave that simply works with a twitch of a dial and a satisfying ‘ping’ on completion.
Yes, it’s not as absolute as a digital and meticulous microwave which often are adorned with innumerable buttons, dials and settings which I for one, have still not mastered on our current built-in one and I am myself, a bit of a technophile. With time, you grow comfortable with only the settings you find useful.
But, if you’re after a traditional ‘Popty Ping’ – which is roughly accurate to 3 seconds, uncomplicated by an assortment of controls, grill function, oven adaptability and steam settings. Then this is for you…or a loved one that lacks the time to figure out more modern appliances.
5 stars
This arrived in a glossy branded box with images of the microwave on the outside along with specification details. The box opens at the top with the oven packed top and bottom with compacted cardboard, the whole thing has a plastic sleeve covering it. Inside you have the round glass tray, roller part for the bottom and instruction booklet, all very well packed and secured.
First impressions: this is in my opinion what I would call a retro style with a modern makeover. Everything is a manual operation with twist dials for the timer and power setting and a traditional ping when the cycle is complete. The finish is a nice black gloss with the honeycomb pattern covering the main control panel which sets off nicely against the chrome dials and handle. The main door panel is embossed with the logo and it has four rubber feet on the bottom so sits nice and securely on a flat surface.
After unpacking everything I gave the inside a clean out and decided to give it a try out by cooking some scrambled egg. This does not have a digital display or a mass of settings to adjust so it was a simple case of set the power and timer and away it went. I didn’t set it to a specific time as I needed to stir while cooking, and it cooked them perfectly. I have been using it now daily for over a week and can’t really fault it. I tested out all the different power settings and they work as expected doing a good job.
Overall this is a simple basic and in my opinion aimed at people who don’t want or need all the bells and whistles added such as grilling functions, digital display, timer and clock. It has a nice look to it with a traditional manual style operation and for someone looking for simplicity I think this would be ideal.
Old school with class. Lovely design. Powerful quick reacting energy. The knobs have a nie finish polish to them. The front window doubles up as a reflective glass material. Overall its a great kitchen piece with an exquisite design. I would recommend this to friends who were looking for this type of style.Great product.Follow me on here daily reviews and/or answering questions on the products reviewed
This is a very basic manual microwave that actually looks quite good. Facing you will notice compared to microwaves you are probably more familiar with is there is just a simple timer and power setting function. We are using it in our summer house as we have a movie room in there and it will be used to make popcorn et cetera. Probably be really well suited to someone who struggles using the sometimes overly complex automatic electric microwaves. In terms of cabinet size it more than comfortably fit in a large dinner plate to reheat a meal and as you would expect the removal glass makes it easy to clear the entire cabinet. The black mirror finish looks excellent and would work well in most kitchen spaces. I don’t think I would personally have this as my main microwave as I prefer to use more advanced functions and defrost settings but this would definitely be ideal for a more basic cook or someone who struggles with the technology.
This is a decent, sturdy compact microwave with basic dial controls and no LED screen. The microwave is easy to use with simple control dials. At 700W, this is on the less powerful end of the scale, but still works quickly and efficiently. The compact size does mean that this might be a problem for some plate sizes: this is too small to hold our 12″ dinner plates, but our 10.5″ salad plates fit just fine. The build quality of this is mixed.
Overall, this is a sturdy, well-made feeling microwave — but the control dials and the door handle are made from a shiny, metal-effect coated plastic. This plastic looks and feels cheap — particularly on the dials. A bit disappointing a the price point. I anticipate that the metal-effect coating will wear over time. The mirror-effect door is great: looks smart and attractive and it doesn’t show fingerprint smudges at all — I had feared that this might be a nightmare for smudging, but it stays pristine-looking in use.
The honeycomb element to go with the product name is the panel surrounding the control dials — this has a textured surface with an elongated honeycomb pattern on it. I don’t really like this: it doesn’t add much to the design of the microwave as it doesn’t show up all that well and is harder to clean than a simple flat surface would have been.
I was quite pleased to note on getting this out of the box that Russell Hobbs have given up the use of polystyrene holders to keep their goods safe in transit, this was instead held in place with moulded cardboard. There was still a fair amount of single use plastic — the microwave was in a plastic bag, and a layer of plastic was inserted over the door — but cumbersome, large, bin-hogging, non-recyclable polystyrene packaging components had been eliminated.
This review is for the Russell Hobbs Honeycomb RHMM715B 17 Litre 700W Black Solo Manual Microwave with 5 Power Levels, Integrated Timer and Defrost Function
This is a great quality microwave. Not only does it look fantastic, it is super easy to operate and has sufficient power for your daily tasks. It has a number of different functions, but to be honest in the last 20 years of owning a microwave I have only ever used the same setting.. high. Never have I used defrost, jacket potatoe mode or any other.
This microwave is perfect for every house, is a nice size and does what is needed.
The one problem I had with it was the condition on delivery, the box was totally damaged (as you can see in the photo) and arrived in a condition which if paid for you would not accept it. However luckily the microwave was not damaged.
Otherwise all good! Would recommend, smart little microwave.
This is very good compact microwave. Ideal for smaller households. It’s well designed, with a mirrored door and subtle honeycomb piano black casing around the dials. The chrome handle has honeycomb angles too and looks great. The nature of the design does mean it picks up fingerprints etc quite easily, but all exterior surfaces are easy to clean and I like the stylish appearance so happy with that trade-off.
Inside it features a strong glass plate on a circular wheel that you install yourself (very easy, no tools needed). The inside is very easy to clean. There is a reasonable interior light that enables you to see through the mirrored glass door while in operation.
In terms of performance, it works very well, with 5 heat settings and a timer up to 35 minutes. That’s all most people will ever need. It’s not too noisy in operation and has a great retro ‘ping’ when time’s up.
This microwave is one of the easiest I have used, with just 2 rotary dials to work it. Build quality is very good, its compact and quite small, my dinner plate just about fits in it but at the same time it doesn’t take up all the work surfaces up. When I popped some microwave popcorn in it, it expanded so much it stopped spinning because it is small, so ideal for one or two people but maybe go for a larger model if you have a bigger family or have bigger meals.
Defrosting was simple and worked well. There are 5 power levels and one of these acts as the defrost setting. The timer is analogue, there is not digital display, but it does go up to 35 minutes which should be long enough for any meal including Jacket Potatoes.
There was no presets on this for food and no defrost by weight as I say it is basic. What it lacks in features, it gains in looks. It looks great. The mirrored door does show up fingerprints. It was easy to clean inside with some antibacterial wipes. There is a light so you can see what is cooking and the ding noise is loud so you can hear in another room. I like this and if you are after a small, basic compact microwave then this ticks all the boxes.
This microwave from Russell Hobbs is perfect for small kitchens and everyday use for couples and for people who live on their own. This microwave is 17L with 700W power. I already have one with 25L capacity with grill and convection which sometimes feels like too big to heat up a pizza slice. So I’m using this new as my everyday use and the old one I’m keeping for big dishes and large quantity food.
The design is elegant and matches with my honeycomb kettle from Russell Hobbs. There are 5 different power levels for almost every type of cooking you need and the timer is from 1 to 35min.
Microwave is made of fine quality materials and the glass tray is.thick and strong. Easy to clean and definitely looks modern and beautiful on counter. Came well packed and reasonably priced. At the time of review this product was available for 69.99. Overall fine quality product from a renowned brand and works fine. Highly recommended.
