It should have a handle on it to lift it on and off easier, especially if the stove is a little warm.
It is sturdier than many of the other knockoff lids that are available on Amazon.
This is a quality accessory for your SOLO stove. It is heavy gauge stainless steel and will last for years. It is far easier to cover your stove than the vinyl cover provided. You don’t have to wait until it is cool to the touch to apply like you do the vinyl cover. Vinyl also has environmental issues and is not able to be recycled like the steel lid can be at the end of its life. The vinyl cover is also a pain when it is cold outside as it is less pliable. I like that the stainless lid creates a flat hard surface when covered which allows something else to be stacked on top of it if needed. Also, heavy enough where wind will not cause it to come off, well unless you are experiencing a Tornado or Hurricane at which point it will become mother natures frisbee!
Solo Stove Team: I do wish this cover and other SOLO stove products were made from recycled stainless steel as an offset to the carbon footprint your products create. I get that they burn cleaner but they still burn carbon based material and there are more people with fire pits today than ever due to the popularity your success has created. I bought several new accessories and the amount of styrofoam used in the packaging was also avoidable and could easily be replaced with pulp inserts that are recyclable versus land fill fodder like styrofoam. Your large boxes could also be FSC certified which would make tons of sense since your product consumes wood product itself. Not looking for you to “greenwash’ but to be mindful of where you and your consumers can be a bit more responsible while still providing a recreational product many of us love.
Fit my solo stove Yukon like a glove. Definitely well-built! Heavy gauge steel. I may add a small handle in the middle or the top, but not sure. Only downfall is the lid adds about a half inch to the Diameter of the solo stove so if you choose to store the lid Under your solo stove fire pit cover. It makes for a snug fit. As in, fitting the fire pit cover over the top of the lid. It’s doable but snug Overall, a great product and happy with the purchase.
I originally only bought a Solo soft cover but it quickly became clear it turned into a bird bath after every rain. We bought the stainless lid as a cover but it is awesome as a table when we aren’t burning wood.
it is a nice stove. love the smock less of product!
Let’s face it, hats are an essential part of our lives. They protect us from the scorching sun, keep us warm in chilly weather, and can even make a fashion statement. So why should our beloved SoloStove be left hatless? The Lid is here to save the day, bringing a smile to your face every time you fire up your stove. Knowing that your stove was safe from the outside world when you were busy with your firey life.
But the Lid isn’t just a comical accessory; it also serves a practical purpose. It helps protect your SoloStove from the elements when not in use, keeping rain, leaves, and debris at bay. No more worrying about cleaning out your stove before starting your next campfire! Plus, the lid itself already does an excellent job smothering the flames when it’s time to call it a night.
I was pleasantly surprised by the Lid durability. Despite its lightweight design, it’s made of sturdy materials that can withstand the rigors of outdoor adventures. It doesn’t lose its shape, even after extended use, and it’s easy to clean. Just give it a quick wipe, and it’s good to go for your next Fire Solo or with friends.
A must have. Ordered a cover and quickly learned I should have started with this. With the money(wish it was available cheaper though)
Lid fits on top of the Yukon Solo Stove perfectly. Have used to cover when there are still hot coals but not a fire and it worked great, due to rain. Expensive but very happy I got it. Makes using the rain cover easier too!
Fits properly with the top ring facing upwards (the position you use when a fire is lit). I purchased it after I got a soft cover to keep the rain out of the Solo stove. The weight of the rain pulls the top of the fabric cover down, pooling water. With the lid in place, the water runs off.
Fits well. I hate spending so much for a lid, but it works well, so there’s that. I bought a cover too but decided I don’t need it with this.
This is perfect for a table top when not using stove. I leave stove out now, no worries about dogs checking out leftover ashes! I setup the next burn and am ready to go!
I was looking at other fire pit lids that weren’t Solo brand, and they didn’t get great reviews. I decided to splurge and purchase this Solo name brand and I’m so glad I did! It fits perfectly on my Solo fire pit. It has been through wind, rain, snow & sun and has stayed on well + kept the contents dry inside. Yes, you will pay more for this but it is definitely worth it!
perfect fit, well made and keeps the rain from pooling at the bottom of our solo stove.
Sturdy! We had very strong winds (with huge trees knocked down) – the lid flew off of our solo stove (the only time this had ever happened) and there wasn’t even a dent! I was shocked! Nice to keep the water out for those storing it outdoors. Would highly recommend.
Expensive but it does the trick when looking to keep water out of your SoloStove Bonfire. It is a must if you plan to leave your SoloStove outside for any extended period of time.
Simple lid very sturdy excellent quality and essential shame so much money
Fairly heavy but that’s probably not a bad thing because it would be really hard for the wind to blow it off.
Handy at the end of night, just way over priced
Heavy duty cover to protect fire pit. Kind of expensive but it seems to hold up and protect innards of pi
I think the lid is a must for the Solo Stove. It allows you to keep it dry as the embers go out. The only downside is the price.
Well made and fit, but ridiculously priced. Not worth the money. Just get a weather proof cover.
It works great . Keeps the rain out and makes the solo look good on the deck.
This top is nice heavy steel and I believe it will last the lifetime of the solo fire pit.
I meanit’s a lid. It works. But it is way expensive. Will see how stainless steel it is after the Midwest winter.
The bonfire lid is a nice touch to end the evening one when the fire pit is staying to burn out and not having to worry about any embers flying out. The products fits well and will protect the inside from any rain possibly getting inside. However, I believe the product needs to be cheaper.
Should’ve bought it with the firepit directly to save money, but at least it was available this way as well!
This is heavy and thicker than the stainless steel on the rest of the pit. It’s very sturdy, I don’t think it will warp, but I’ve only used it one time.
The mesh covers can sit on top of this when the pit is not in use. You can cover all of it with the soft cover. It’s very nicely designed.
Great product just forgot to order it when I made my original orde
The solo stoves are great! Start your fire slowly and you will have a smoke free campfire with lots of heat! The top is a must have, so when the party is over you can let the embers die out overnight without worry.
This is a great add to the system as it covers your embers at end of evening to prevent sparks from escaping. Solid stainless steel has slightly yellowed after a few uses, but it works and that’s what matters.
Some cons:
– Does not cover the grill accessory though, which is necessary to prevent sparks DURING the fire. It would have been great to have a domed design to cover the grill.
– Its pricey! I am annoyed at Solo Stove’s part pricing strategy, where accessories cost pretty much 1/3rd of the price of the fire pit.
We LOVE solo stove, but their stuff is very expensive. Quality is there, but this is expensive for just a cover/top.
I like this very much, my solo fire now doubles as a table when not in use
Guests were here for a week, and we toasted marshmallows while sitting under the stars. Easy to clean up is a bonus!
As described and promptly delivered makes the fire pit tidy when not in ise
High quality stainless steel. Very substantial thickness. Fits the Bonfire model perfectly but should be included with the Solo Stove even if it raises the cost. It is difficult to make sure the coals are out without it. It starves the fire of air and by morning the coals are cold.
The service from Solo Stoves was amazing! Lid is perfect for our bonfire Solo Stove.
Solostove definitely produces quality products and this is no exception. Simple lid yes, but it precisely fits the solostove fire pit. It was also much thicker and heavier than expected. Should last for years.
The lid is a must have. If it begins to rain you can cover the stove up quickly to protect the inside since you can’t throw the cover on it when it’s still hot. It doubles as a nice little table also. Solid and heavy.
As the saying goes, “you get what you pay for”. Although this lid cost more than I would have liked to spend, I feel it was a good choice. It’s VERY sturdy and fits perfectly. I was really impressed with how well it was packaged. I was concerned that I might have to flip the “diverter thingy” over for this lid to fit but I’m happy to say that is NOT the case. It has even survived a thunderstorm with high winds and it did not blow off.
It’s expensive for what it is in my opinion but it’s sturdy and is exactly as advertised
Great cover for our solo stove, heavy enough that I don’t worry about it being blown off and keeps the inside dry between fires
If you have solo stove fire pit then this is a must have accessory for you. It fits perfectly, thick, and feels very sturdy. A little pricey but definitely worth it.
he lid works perfectly on the Solo Bonfire. I just can’t figure out why they charge $80 for this!
Works like it should but would be nice if there was a handle of some sort on either the side or top.
Shame the lid isn’t offered in a bundle with the rest if the kit as I think it is essential for the look when the pit is not in use. However the plastic cover is also very useful when out nit used for a while. Lid fits perfectly and you could use it as a drinks table when not in use. Very pleased with it.
Very well made and gives the option of using the fire pit as a table when not burning wood. Great fit!
The review asks for heat output. It’s the closure lid, so no heat shoul come out. That question should only apply to the Solo fire pit, not it’s lid. This is Not, the optional heat deflector.
The best thing about the Solo is there’s no set up required. Very sturdy and excellent heat output. Make sure to order the stand and cover it is worth it.
Bought this in hopes of suffocating my solo stove fire. It does not. It does fit well on the Yukon and it does allow you to walk away with out worrying if embers will fly out. So it does do that well.
The lid keeps the weather out of the stove. If you have the Solo Stove cover that fits completely over the stove, it will still fit with the lid in place.
Purchased this lid to complete my kit… when not keep me warm I have a side table. I haven’t set a fire since receiving this, but I believe once cooled down I can put this lid on go and empty the ashes later – heading to bed with out after a relaxing evening. It is the finishing touch to a great bit of kit…
This lid is very strong and sturdy. Mind you this lid is for the newer Yukon stove at 27″. The lid is heavy to help keep it in place and dissipate the heat. Worth the purchase.
This is an essential add on to your solo stove. I did not think I needed it, and tried to make due with the normal solo stove shelter. That worked for a while, until you get hit by an unexpected downpour while your fireplace is still on and you cannot use the shelter or move the fireplace. You are then left with water inside the walls of your stove and it is a pain to get everything dry. With this, you can simply put it on even if the fire is still going and it will protect the inside of the stove, no more water inside the walls. If you have a solo stove, highly recommend this, it will save you cleaning time and increase the lifespan of your stove.
At first look, this is an over priced steel lid, but now that I have it, its the best solo stove accessory I have purchased. As the end of the night I can get the fire down to embers and cover it with the lid and not worry that wind will blow embers out of the pit. I also dont have to worry about rain at night getting into the pit and turning the ash to concrete. It gives me piece of mind and Im happy to have it.
This simple disk is used to shut down your solo stove at the end of a evening around the bonfire. It serves to close off the hot coals until the next morning when you clean up. Then it becomes a storage cover to prevent any lingering ash from escaping. It is made of heavy stainless steel and should last a long time. It simply sits on top of the stove.
The cover is solid and sturdy and works well for covering the stove when it is still hot, but does not fit well when the stove flame deflector ring is in the upright position. Unfortunately the ring cannot be held and turned over until it cools.
Originally only had a soft cover and got caught a few nights waiting for the fire to die out but it rained in the middle of the night causing some messiness with sludgy ashes inside my Yukon. This stainless steel cover fixed that problem as you’re able to throw it on when the flames die down but the fire is still hot. I’ve even left the soft cover off many nights while it rained and nothing will get inside the Solo Stove. It’s very sturdy and well built.
Happy with this product.
It’s a lid, what’s there to say? Lol
the lid is made so that it fits atop the stove without having to flip over the top ring. It’s not a tight fit, but it’s not a sloppy fit either, I’d say just right. Wouldn’t use this when the fire is still roaring, but definitely used it once coals were left when I wanted to leave the stove unattended. With the top on, the lid get very hot so be careful, but if you have the weather cover then just place that on top and you can walk away from the stove and feel safe knowing no one will get injured from a burn.
Do you need this lid? Not really. But for peace of mind I’d recommend i
I received my order and was disappointed that the lid did not fit as others have described. I had thought that others may have ordered the wrong size for their stove. My lid also did not fully cover the Yukon solo stove. I contacted Solo Stove directly and they informed me that I have an original Yukon solo stove that is 30″ not their current Yukon which has reduced to 27″. Yukon is sending me a prepaid return lable to ship the 27″ lid back and they are sending me the correct 30″ lid free of charge. I would suggest measuring your Yukon fire pit before ordering. There is no mention of multiple size Yukons. The quality of the 27″ lid is better than I expected. I will update with the new 30″ lid when I get it.
