I am using this monitor as alternative to my laptop screen. Set on top of a monitor raiser and gives easier angle for viewing.
For only 89.99 you can have an excellent secondary monitor. Brilliant 15.4 inch HD monitor! It’s very small but very good and my husband uses it as a secondary monitor to look things up whilst he does his assignment on the other screen.
The quality is excellent, it only has one hdmi port but you don’t need it for anymore, it also comes with a hdmi cable which is nice! Very affordable for what you get and the picture quality is excellent too, just a nice basic secondary monitor that I’d reccomend.
An amazing monitor, excellent quality, great screen size, lightweight and thin, love the colour and material, very sturdy and strong, does not heat up, very quiet overall, great sound quality, easy to set up, excellent for gaming. Definitely recommend.
I ordered this for my new restaurant. I am using it as a cctv monitor. 15.4inch is big enough for the purpose. The monitor looks compact and sleek. Set up was easy, picture is clear, colours are good. Compared to other cctv monitors on the market which would cost you more than 200, this is a great value for money. It does a great job.
This monitor is very light and portable. Do not expect much from the screen quality since it is 1400×900. But if you simply need an extra screen for your travels, this is an excellent choice.
Small, but great. Nice hdmi diplay with good vision and colour.
This monitor have build in speakers.
Very lightweight and super for working on it.
Price is good to for such product.
So surely I can recommend it to all.
I had two options for this monitor when I ordered, I was either going to use it as the screen for our security cameras or to plug in a firestick and use it for a small tv for my daughters room. It’s definitely more suited to the security camera monitor option.
Due to it being a Twisted Nematic (TN) LCD which is old technology it does have some drawbacks. It has a poor viewing angle and I found looking at it from the side or below was a very bad experience. Using TN panels also produces poor colour reproduction and quality is variable. The plus is it’s much cheaper than better/newer display technologies such as IPS LCD, OLED etc .. it’s also not 1080p. Overall this is a budget monitor using old technology but the price reflects that so may have its uses but make sure it’s what you need. It has 1 hdmi and 1 vga input.
I was looking for a cheap monitor to use as an occasional second screen for some applications and this budget 15.4 inch HD154 model by Thinlerain is just about OK. It has limited features and is probably best connected via HDMI (cable supplied) — it is 12V and a suitable power supply is included. The screen resolution is 1400900 which is somewhere between HD and Full HD — it is common for screen monitors and is fine for 720p but not for 1080p. It uses TN (Twisted Nematic) technology, which is an old type of of panel that is basic these days but has a fast refresh rate for gaming. There are two built-in 1.5W speakers which do their job reasonably well. Currently around ninety pounds from Amazon this Thinlerain HD154 monitor is alright for some applications and works for me — but it has limited features and won’t display 1080p without distortion, if at all. If it suits you needs then it offers reasonable value at the price — four stars.
For what I need a second monitor for this is great, not too big and is very bright and clear, i have it hooked up to my laptop with a monitor arm and love that i can just move things over and work on two monitors, I dont need sound so that isnt a problem, I wish i had got a second monitor sooner, it makes life so much easier
I would recommend this produc
Good value monitor, great use for general business and workspace environment. Does the job for some games but not really a gaming monitor for quality of play
With HDMI output, built-in speakers enhance the entertainment effect of the game.
The connection is convenient, because my game console also has an HDMI output, I directly use the data cable in the package to connect the two devices, there is no additional connection device. very easy.
The picture is crisp, and the built-in speakers sync the game’s music and background rhythms. It’s just a little short in height, it can adjust the angle up and down a little, just a little bit shorter.
Lightweight and easy to move. My kids love to sit on the rug and play STREET FIGHTER. This weight and volume design is perfect for them.
With this monitor it really does depend on what you are looking for. At the current asking price you could easily get a preowned monitor that could output 1400900 or better. Not to mention actually being a lot larger than the 15 inches provided here. This is basically the size of an average laptop screen. You do have connection options for both HDMI and VGA. This is certainly marketed as a secondary screen and doesn’t really offer the full package to replace your laptop or pc main display.
Some great options to use this for is things like a security monitor for a cctv kit, with a raspberry pi and even a secondary, much larger screen for a DSLR camera so that you can see whats going on better. Now personally this is what I use this for. I have hooked up my camera to this monitor so that I can see a live feed of my camera while I’m shooting photography work. It helps me identify things I just wouldn’t be able to on the onboard camera screen.
The screens quality is very basic but more than good enough for the options provided above. It states it would be good for gaming consoles but I would probably disagree. Maybe older consoles like the ps3 and xbox one but the new generation of consoles would be wasted using this as a display. Now in terms of the build in speakers they are more than sufficient for your basic needs. They can be slightly tiny when you turn them up a little high and the bass can rattle the frame but as I said it isn’t half bad. You can always plug in an external speaker set which most monitors require anyway.
The build quality of the screen itself is very basic. It is extremely light weight and does indicate the use of cheap materials. Despite those concerns because it is so light weight, small and compact; you are able to throw it into a large laptop bag and take it with you. It would make for a great portable secondary screen for your computer or even use it with an old gaming console and make an, on the move screen and console system.
All in all it won’t be for everyone. You will really need to have a specific need for this kind of screen to really get your moneys worth out of it. I am certainly getting a lot of use out off it by using it as an external display for my DSLR. It has really helped me with correcting my shots and ensuring exposure and lighting is correct. If you are after a small monitor that can provide a decent screen output, has built in speakers and even slim and portable; this might be a viable option to you.
Hope this review helps.
This is a nice choice if you aren’t looking for a top line monitor, perfect for small projects or a boy’s bedroom for use with a pc.
I’m using this one for my sons Raspberry PI and all the little projects he likes to do on that, but could also presumably be used with a fire stick or something to watch films and shows on.
The stand is pretty basic, and the monitor does not come with a controller, you can spin through the menu settings using the buttons on the back of the unit. The speakers are ok and worked fine but the quality of the screen is a bit on the low side and, unless you are looking directly at the screen, you will struggle to read text on it.
There are very few ports, only one HDMI so you will struggle to have more than one piece of equipment connected at a time, but otherwise it works fine.
Ok but a little overpriced.
This monitor is nice and small while staying lightweight and I like the port location so you can wall mount it very well if required. The screen size is a small 15″ and has a fairly small surround with most of the casing all made from plastic including the control buttons round the back of the right hand side. This is a different location to the pictures on the amazon page which shows them at the bottom of the monitor. The left side has the ports which all face downwards out of the screen so you can put cables in them and still hide them behind the screen. You get HDMI, VGA, Audio out and power.
I would say this is really a HDMI usable screen as you get sound with it as where vga is only picture so I have used it for a second screen on the side of my desk for emails to be open etc and the resolution for that is perfectly fine and I plugged a sky mini box into the hdmi port so I get sound as well and it then can be a tv screen while I am on my main computer screen.
Overall, for 89.99 it’s an OK price but not great value when you consider other larger screen options for that money, but if you need one this small it does the job well for basic PC use or TV watching.
I bought this CCTV monitor to replace an older 8-inch model that I have, I use this monitor to display multiple live feeds from my network video recorder, so the extra screen space is appreciated.
The native resolution of the screen is 1400 x 900, which is perfect for displaying 4-8 feeds at once.
Although I’m sure it’s mostly used for purposes like mine, the monitor has a wide array of uses and can work as a traditional PC monitor for watching videos and browsing the web.
I have a mini PC running a few home automations and processes and wanted a compact monitor to be able to make any adjustments without having to plug it into my other monitors or TVs but not take up much space.
This monitor is compact but still makes everything nice and clear given that it’s LED the brightness is great too as i have it with a bad reflection from one of the windows but i can still see it clearly.
I’ve moved it around quite a bit but it still holds nice and sturdy so must have a decent quality stand with it too, so overall i’m happy with it.
This is a really good monitor and lightweight too! Got this monitor to watch TV in my kitchen while cooking, and couldn’t be easier to use, comes with a lot of different inputs, I used HDMI to connect an amazon fire stick, and was up and running in a minute, image quality is very clear, the sound it’s okay for this little thing. I really recommend it as an extra TV, it does the job very well for a good price.
I needed a little monitor with HDMI input to hook up to my CCTV. This is a perfect size at 15.4 inches and nice and light so I can stand it on top of the CCTV box. Colours are good, set up was a doddle and it has a clear picture, what’s not to like. It also has a VGA input if you need that too. I really can’t find fault with it, I haven’t experienced any hazy pictures that others have mentioned, it’s a thumbs up from me!
This is a budget monitor. It is designed as a second monitor or as a monitor for your CCTV security camera system. For the price, this monitor performs well. I work from home and required a second screen for my office and this is just perfect for my requirements. It’s a decent and compact size with great resolution and sharp pictures. It has a streamline design along with HDMI and VGA inputs. The built in speakers are acceptable but not exceptionally loud, however, still a good performance considering the price. As mentioned earlier this monitor would also be useful for a CCTV system. Worth considering as an option.
Spotted this 15 Inch for a bargain 90 so went for that. It was easy to set up and hook up to my system. Pictures are clear enough. Only use it for CCTV and I’m satisfied. They do the job for a budget monitor . I can add that it is light , and you can fit on a small computer desk. Good value price for what I needed it for. Recommended.
Perfect for my cctv system! Easy to plug in and easy to use.. not the highest res but for the money it’s great value! :).
Price wise i think it is bit more but lightweight and works fine
This desktop monitor has decent size that I have been looking and really good for multi purpose i.e online games, videos, office works. I Have hooked up with my PC to get multiple screen for my ease for office related works as I have been working from home. It has cool specs like 140090 resolution HDMi and VGA. Comes with glass/dust protection ,anti-corrosion ,anti-scratch. Ever adding after this pc monitor gave my room office look! I would love to have one more monitor in future and make like control room. I am excited for this!!
A really nice lightweight monitor for use with the Raspberry Pi. It has built in speakers, which are good enough for watching videos and playing back music. They are not tinny. Saves having to have additional external speakers. The screen quality is good for the price and is nice and slimline.
Good monitor, I bought it to be a second screw for my work. It does the job, light weight with HDMI and VGA inputs.
Good as a security camera monitor or side screen for work.
This secondary screen works really well at different angles. No, it is not OLED or 4K, I would have to pay out a lot more money for that. For what it offers within my budget is a decent screen, compact size, and HDMI connectivity. I can use the monitor as a main screen or a secondary screen. The sound is another bonus, but the quality is tinny – no bass or mids. It was easy to assemble on the provided stand. The UK plug and cable are also in the box. Just plug and use. The price is right for my pocket, too.
We needed to replace an old monitors which were showing signs of their age. this is thin, the colours are vibrant and like the system had a upgrade. really likes the sharpness of the picture. We use this in an office environment.
