No issues, installed easily. Made minor bending adjustment to lock tab to tighten the door when closed. Wall mounting slots are on 16″ (approximately) centers. Includes cage nuts and large screws for mounting equipment to rack rails.
I mounted it high up and added a RGB LED strip to give it some color in there. It’s also useful for when I need to work in there, I switch the LED to white and it provides a nice light. Luckily mine came perfect with no dents or bends etc. I have several devices in there and I added my wi-fi router on the top of the rack on the outside.
There are multiple options to pass cables from the front of the rack to the back, but none as nice and convinient a this one, also it is very affordable.
This is a very basic item which is manufactured by many companies but this one is as good as anyone and this prices per unit is lower than any other one.
I needed a small NAS and other device storage, and after researching different 6U units, this one came out on top. No casters included in mine, but that’s ok.
My only regret is that I did not get it sooner.
I wasn’t sure how good these would be, took a chance, and they turned out to be an excellent value IMO.
Blank spaces that come with mounting hardware. Buy 10 for the price of 2. Installing these is fast, and a great way to cover up empty spaces in the rack. Hide the mess of cables inside.
Great for filling in gaps or spaces in a rack.
I purchased this primarily so I could get all of my home IT equipment off my basement floor, but what I got for my money was a pleasant surprise. The 6U enclosure has enough space for an ATX rack-mount case, a Lorex 4K NVR, Arris SB8200 (Xfinity) modem, a 16-port switch, a TV (OTA) amplifier/splitter, and an APC 650VA UPS. The entire unit is sturdy on its own, but is solid as a rock when mounted to the wall, yet the steel is easy enough to punch through for conduit connections (I run most of my Cat5e and coax through EMT). Very satisfied with the purchase.
I was very impressed with the quality. Price was very reasonable. I would definitely buy again.
This thing is flawless. The are threads for the feet if you need to add them. Doe is simple to move to open opposite direction. The is no ground stud on left side opening. If your build a rack you can figure it out. Lots of components have a ground point.
I install a lot of these cabinets and decided to try this brand as my normal brand shot up in price. I was very happy to see that it came with concrete anchors, cage nuts and screws, 4 adjustable posts and assembled. I agree the packaging could be better, but fortunately it was not damaged by the shipping company. Overall I am pleased with this product.
It comes fully assembled. After removing from the package I did notice a small dent on the enclosure, however, it was barely noticeable. I mainly purchased this to store some networking hardware along with a few UPS’s.
It does not include any casters or feet. I didn’t plan on wall mounting this or roll it around the room so I decided not having casters was no big deal. There are four threaded bolts at the bottom where the casters would go and I am assuming this is for those who want to use legs instead of casters. The manual does not state what thread size these are, but for those who are wondering, they are M10.
I have my equipment in an outdoor space so I was concerned more about dust than heat. There is sufficient venting and it keeps the dust down to a minimum.
The rack arrived without any damage whatsoever. Installation was easy, quality seems good. Overall very pleased.
Really happy with how it came out. Access is great with the removable doors.
This rack is a nice way to get your geek on and still pass the WAF. There is an additional 1U up top and bottom that you can’t slide things into, but can still mount brackets and wire mgmt to. Nice surprise. To mount it to wood studs you will need lag bolts which are not included. I took a sheet of easel paper and taped it to the back and pencil shaded the mount holes, then transferred the paper to the wall to get it mounted. It’s a little hard to hold it and mount it without help.
I managed to fit a small desktop PC, NAS, 4 RasPi’s in a 1U mount, two switches and a 1U patch panel. In back I mounted a nice 12 port PDU. On the bottom there was room for a NUC and my weather receiver unit.
There are no rear holes to bring cables into the rack and I didn’t want to cut into it. Instead I used large and small innerduct and came through the ceiling in through the top. Worked well.
Mine was damaged on arrival just like many others have stated. Luckily the damage does not affect usability at all, and the glass door was intact. Other than the cosmetic damage I’m happy with the rack, it’s a shame that there is such low quality control, but I mean hey, you get what you pay for.
Performs well, very sturdy, and it also looks very nice. Comes with 3 keys, which I appreciate. My only gripe with it is that I wish it were deeper. It handle most things well but does not work well with Ubiquiti Unifi’s Power Backup system
Was hesitating due to the damaged product reviews but came in packaged perfectly- zero dents or dings. Came with three pairs of keys which was 6 keys all the keys work for all the locks. Definitely better than what I expected based on some of the other reviews.
allows you to pass through cables from the back – I pass through usb + ethernet cables – and they are prevented from accidentally falling back through. It helps stay organized, and looks nice too.
1. USPS decided not to deliver it, I had to drive 26 miles RT to pick it up.
2. The cabinet is as described, no regrets for the price. Looks very nice.
3. Every fastener inside, locks, rails and grounding was loose or had fallen of. (Must be short on wrenches in China)
As others have said, the shipping material is barely enough to pass as acceptable. This is not a strong box, it has a weak, almost paper like quality to it. If you’ve ever ordered anything that has a Chinese box that’s basically what this is. It’s not made of a thicker cardboard. The images I show try to convey this the best I know how.
The white dampening material is not styrofoam. It’s a pliable material that I can squeeze together with two fingers with them almost touching. They are only on the corners, not the edges or sides.
That being said, damage during shipping is a chance everyone will have to take with this.
In my case, I had zero damage to the rack and think I am very lucky.
The rack itself is very sturdy however which is what I was looking for. I previously had a Navepoint 600m deep rack that had horrible sagging. This one does not and mounts directly to the wall. The Navepoint used a bar with a lip on it that the rack sat on top of which worked but seemed off.
The doors are not at all right when locked. They have about half an inch or more of play while locked. They give you three sets of keys which is ok I guess but this is for home use so I don’t care about outside entry.
All in all for the price it’s great, IF you get it without damage. Some people have mentioned badly damaged racks and poor customer support for returns. That would not be ideal at all so be cautious with that when ordering. A few scratches or dings not a big deal but dents or collapsed sides would be a deal breaker.
Very impressed with my new network cabinet. Perfect size, good quality and works great.
I was going to go with navepoint but decided to try this on since it was already assembled. I must say it was a great purchase and I would highly recommend it. I do agree they could do better on boxing material. Very sturdy case and well built.
After working with company server racks for years, I decided I wanted a small one for home, and I chose this one. I really liked almost everything, but being on a budget, and having to outfit the cabinet slowly over time, I overlooked one crucial thing: IT’S SHALLOW! Sure, the patch panel, shelf, & PDU were no problem, and the Ubiquity Dream Machine Pro fit just fine. But then came time to buy the UPS, and I spent hours futilely trying to fit 19″ of UPS plus cords extended from the back into a 17″ maximum depth, with the rails as far forward as shutting the glass door would accomodate. Now I have to replace this with a deeper brand, and this is money wasted. Nowhere in this description can I find mention of it’s depth, but I still feel responsible for rushing to purchase, so I’m not knocking off as many stars as you might think I would.
Great product, very happy with it and the price is even better ! I used it on a 26 camera dual NVR system and everything fit like a glove. The only thing I would have like more of is more depth, maybe two inches and it would be 120% good.
These work perfectly in my home network rack, and match the color of my Samson rack. They’re definitely black but maybe have a very very slight hint of gray to them. Some of the tabs were slightly bent at the mounting holes but was easily able to bend back. Did include screws / hardware. If you’re looking to fill blank space, I’d highly recommend these.
I run a I.T. support business and have deployed several of these racks at business’s. They are very durable and of high quality. They fit our network switches and our advanced firewall as well as our Avaya phone system quite nicely. We setup 2 24 port patch panels which is where all of our network cables that we ran through the building came back to. This rack worked perfectly.
I purchased for my son to put all his IOT devices into this box. It works very well.
Worked great for a home cabinet. Holds all my Ubiquiti equipment, UPS and Mac mini with room to spare. Metal is thinner than expected but holds its shape. Definitely won’t keep out someone determined to get it open. Can’t really beat the space provided for the price. Does mount on 16 inch on center studs which worked out great for my storage room.
A nice unit. I took a chance after reading other reviews here. No change to their packaging; it’s sparse. I got out lucky with only the bottom side wheel portion being dented. It could easily have been straightened, but I did not need it for my install. You can see the damaged are in my photo. The only other problem was the latch pin on the inside of the front door was bent. A good set of pliers fixed that. All in all, I am happy I took the chance. I installed this in a home setup, and I am very pleased with the outcome.
I used this for one of our mobile trailer job sites to house all our electronics. Locks work great, very sturdy. Holding a UPS and multiple switches right now with no issues.
I’m very very happy with this product but it didn’t come with wood mounting bolts. I picked up mounting bolts at Lowe’s. All my network devices are now consolidated.
I personally thought quite a few of these and I have never been disappointed with the quality and they’re strong and works really well.
I personally like the fact that it is perforated all over so they’re great airflow
If you’re looking for infallibility security, expect to pay much, much more for an enclosure. This enclosure is perfect for securing equipment from curious or meddling hands but is not hard for the real bad guys to pry open. Of course, IMHO if you don’t have an independant SD card camera trained on your security equipment, you didn’t follow best practices… Anyway, great build quality and easy to install. Would have been a bonus to have openings in the back to mount over an outlet and have the cables in the wall, but not a big deal to cut them out.
I ordered this set to match with a “V7 RMWC6UG-1N” Rack Mount Wall Cabinet, as these wheels were recommended as such.
However, I haven’t been able to attach them to the cabinet yet as the screws that came with them do not seem to go in well (on the cabinet side) with a hand screwdriver. Be prepared to have a power tool or possibly different size screws.
Good product, sturdy, although instructions could be more clear. Maybe some markings to indicate the inch width of the rack mount?
When I first opened the box I was impressed with the strength of the steel. Very sturdy. There’s also several mounting options: 4 holes on the back, 4 bolt holes on the bottom, and places to screw in castors if you want to roll it around a floor. The doors are removable, grounded, and operate easily. The locks may not be the strongest but they seem to work. Overall for the price I’m very satisfied! The only info I couldn’t find is the bolt size/thread that goes in the bottom mount holes.
Highlights —
-Great finish, no blemishes
-Easy to install & use
Pro’s —
-These brush panels are significantly cheaper than some others, with no measurable difference in quality or appearance!!
-Black color matches with most common racks
-Brushes are very fine, and I haven’t had any come loose yet
Con’s —
-Once the cables are passed through, realigning the brushes can take some time
-There always seems to be a stray brush!
Overall:
I wanted to clean up the look of my network rack, and these did the trick! They provide a seamless and professional look, while keeping everything in budget. I look forward to purchasing from this brand in the future.
Great cabinet, arrived in perfect condition with no scratches, dents, or blemishes. Package included a set of hardware including anchors for concrete installation. Packaged with foam padding on all corners and sides and in a box. All doors open as intended, came with 6 total keys for the three similarly-keyed locks.
It’s simple and fairly well build, however I had to remove the door in order to move the mounting columns all the way forward to fit my gear. Mounts securely and ventilates well.
Had bought a smaller unit previously and loved it so much I had to get this one for an installation. Love the ventilation it gets for the hardware inside. Easy to install.
This is a great box, but a little fragile. The first one didn’t even make it to me, as it was damaged in shipped and returned via the carrier. The 2nd one door hinge was damaged but usable.
Ordered Two (2) of these, (6U Glass front) and one was dragged on arrival. The top had been crushed inwards. The packing consists of corner styrene bats with not-thick-enough sheets along the top and sides. I would say that under ordinary conditions this wold be fine, but since they ship with Unbelievably Pulverized Shipments (Ill let you figure out the acronymm!), notoriorious for , shall we say less the gentle handling, V7 needs to pack better!.
That said, the undamaged one is GREAT! (5 stars.) Once mounted wit all FOUR lag bolts (not included) It is sturdy, The doors open smoothly, and the cable entrance on the back is the right death.
I bolted it to a wall about 1m AGL and have a Tripp-Lite UPS (2U), a switch (1U) and a custom interface module (1U so therein several kilos of weight but the rack supports the equipment nicely.
I didn’t need the casters, but they come with it. I did purchase the fan set as well, an easy install. The units comes with sufficient cage nuts and screws so you shouldn’t need extras.
Its a nice looking rack. The four (4) stars is for the Rack. The Packaging gets 3 stars….maybe.
NOTE: THIS IS NOT a SERVER RACK as it does not have sufficient depth.
This rack was the right size for my needs. It shipped and arrived in a reasonable amount of time, so all good there. First I noticed the the shipping box was damaged, the strapping actually cut through the box, and that was concerning, but, after opening the box I discovered the strapping did not do any damage to the actual rack. One corner of the rack had obviously been dropped on concrete (or a like surface) before the the rack was packaged as it was scraped and damaged under the foam padding and plastic wrap. Also one of the side doors was slight bent. This didn’t make me happy, but, it’s just a network rack, so I guess I’ll live with it. Other than that, it seems to be well made. I think it will hold up well. I would probably order another one if I had a similar need.
Have not yet set it up, bit received it in good condition with expected hardware included. Looks nice, bigger than I thought but the measurements are correct. Will update as I get things mounted
So these work great in a standard 19″ rack but they are not really black. Attached is a picture of one next to a black drawer from another manufacturer, by comparison these are gray. Even the other blank 1U panels I have from companies like Middle Atlantic or Gator match the black of the drawer so I’m not sure if I was sent the wrong item or not but they’re certainly gray. Otherwise they fit fine and aren’t flimsy.
So, one thing I should have done better was measure the depth (front to back) of this rack. It fits my receiver just fine, but it is a little tight for cables in the back. I did measure ahead of time, but didn’t realize it would be this tight. Onkyo TX-NR737 A/V receiver. The size works great for the space under my workbench, so the tight space in back is a decent compromise.
It’s nice and allows me to control my devices through the glass. I hope it will help to keep dust off my garage electronics.
Really nice wall mounted rack. Arrived in good shape. One thing to note the holes on the unit were not 16″ center like it said in the manual they were 16-3/16 center which made it fun when trying to install into wood studs with 5/16″ lags.
Packaged well. Arrived in good condition. Did what they were supposed to do. They look decent in my network setup.
The design is great – just what I needed.
Lots of room for cable management and easy access with the side doors.
Big downer for me is the mounting hardware. I have no idea what the long metal tubes are supposed to do and of course they don’t provide any instruction.
The heads of the screws, when tightened down properly, do not allow for the rack slots to slide over. You have to loosen the screws which is kind of jank.
These shelves are exactly what I need to mount radio equipment in my 19″ racks.
I needed a couple brush panels for a rack for devices that had front-facing network connections. This is exactly what brush panels are for, and these worked perfectly. The measurements were spot on and they fit 1U of space in the rack without issue… no more, no less. I would definitely buy these again!
The only concern I had was that one of the boxes had one end open and was missing the screws. The screws were not inside the Amazon box, so these must have fallen out at the Amazon warehouse prior to shipment. So I would recommend to the manufacturer to tape the ends of the boxes shut. But no points docked, I have tons of rack screws, so we’re fine. Just my recommendation!
As others have noted as far as I can tell this is the cheapest rack filler blank plates out there and at $33 for 10 they are a great deal!
I haven’t personally experienced many different rack accessories manufacturers/parts, but these do seem quite good even at a ‘standard’ price. They are quite sturdy/solid pieces of steel with a lip folded inwards (or outwards if you mount them in reverse I suppose…), I’ve seen others charging extra for a single lip, they have a nice matte powder coat/finish and they come with the necessary hardware – cage nuts which are, well, cage nuts (all the ones I’ve seen are the same) & quite nice screws that are beefy AND have a nice thick metal spacer plus a plastic washer. Another reviewer did note that the hardware is quite shiny, having a fully machined finish, which he didn’t think went well with the matte plates so keep that in mind if you’re looking for a totally uniform look (but if you read the description this is noted via a photo of the bare screws themselves).
The issue, which cost the product it’s 5-star rating, is that V7 seems to regularly have issues with their logistics processing/QA. I ordered 2 sets, so 20 1U blanks in total, and received mounting hardware for 11 of those filler plates. Having read reviews for other items by V7 (I was also looking for a rack mount shelf) there was a regular occurrence of people either missing hardware (even saw 1 were the guy got extras & another where the guy thought that the item was sold without half the hardware/needed to be purchased separately & did so as those parts was sold separately) and I saw plenty of reviews commenting in bent mounting ears (at least 1 of my filler blanks has a medium depth scuff on it, haven’t inspected all due to the missing hardware).
However, if you read the reviews and take note of this it shouldn’t be too big of a deal. I knew there was a good chance I would have to contact Amazon about this and wait for extra hardware so I planned ahead and am not too bent out of shape.
To sum up: I would definitely recommend and would buy again unless a cheaper option becomes available or my requirements change. It’s just annoying to have to call Amazon and wait for them to contact the seller and then for them to ship the rest of the hardware out (I’m assuming that’s what will happen, I’ve contacted amazon to get the ball rolling but the vendor is closed for the 4th. If I will have to do some whole item swap it will be much much more annoying since I’ve already installed 9 of them).
This makes my cables coming off of my switch look very nice. I really like the look of this in my rack. The only complaint I have with this is that the brushes are pretty stiff and sometimes stick out forward when I put a lot of cables through.
For the price and the quantity you get, it is a great value.
Macht einen leicht wackeligen Eindruck. Bis jetzt aber null Probleme.
Ware Pnktlich angekommen und fr mein Dj Controller perfekt eingebaut.Vielen Dank.Dafr gebe ich 5 Sterne
A little tighter than the star tech variety so ensure urs server width is not to tight to the dimensions but solid bit of kit. Ordered 3 one arrived without screws just waiting on a refund before ordering a replaceme
Very nice quality. Same quality as a much higher price Middle Atlantic branded brush panel. Will buy another when I need to in the future without a doubt.
Seems to be of good quality and the finish is quite nice. Functions as intended.
Passt. Gern wieder.
This is unit does the job and it fits great. I recommend this to anyone who is trying to clean up the wires in their rack system.
I am absolutely blown away by the fast shipping and the exact details of what was included. The gauge of steel that was used to construct the rack plate blank was not too heavy and not too light. The rack clips weren’t pictured (but to my surprise) were exactly what was needed. Thanks for the expedient service and the great price! Sorry I took the blanks out of the package in the pics… too excited. Oh, and the packaging was perfect. No need to worry about delivery with this packaging.
The cheapest single space 1ru blanks on the internet. Well done frugal tech shopper!
Works as described. Metal chassis with plastic brush. No frills here but it does the job.
Was will man mehr?
Basic 1RU blanks. A little over-engineered with the lip on the top and bottom. The included mounting hardware leaves something to be desired as they’re shiny, not black.
Now this is what blanks are supposed to be- straight, uniform, good finish, strong enough for blanks and come in a multi-pack for a great price! They are much thicker that I expected, not as thick as a punched blank but they don’t need to be. I just expected paper thin and they are nothing like that.
I very much recommend these blanks for standard 19″ racks. Buy them.
(Note: personal retail purchase)
