I love the fact that it is small and perfect for my daughter.
I admit I’ve only been on this new laptop barely a month but wanted to share, with its’ low price, I am AMAZED what a deal it is & definitely recommend it!
To be specific, this is the 11.6″ HD Windows 10 Professional Slim & Light Laptop – Windows 11 compatible.. the Brand is Fusion5 model C60Bv2 Series laptop, on Amazon now for $249.
NOTE: Fusion5 is a fast-growing consumer technology company that designs and manufactures computer hardware including laptops, tablets and smartphones. Headquartered in the UK, Fusion5 has operations in Hong Kong, China, India and the USA.
I’ve owned computers since the 90s and had some of the top of the line, due needing Photoshop for work. Basically retired now.. and still researching what I really want and at this price certainly felt it worth the risk of it dying after a year!. now being on it daily, will even look into Fusion5s’ more powerful machines! [chuckle] if/when I ever need another 🙂
As to this specific model and some of the reviews I read before buying it;
I advise having a external hard drive – actually I advise that with any computer – I already had/have a MyBook with still 600GB free space of 1TB so only had to buy a USB 3.0 Hub, Atolla Aluminum 4-in-1 USB Splitter with 1 USB 3.0 Port and 3 USB 2.0 Ports ($6.99 on Amazon) – and it works Great!
I’ve long used my internal storage for apps & the external for where I save my high volume eating documents, art work etc.. it took a bit to get that actually set up but worth the time doing it as now it’s a breeze for me! And in a couple months I’ll purchase a second external as secondary back up..
>> UPDATE: a geek friend suggested I try Amazons’ SanDisk 512GB Ultra USB 3.0 Flash Drive $43 since my other external still working & he’s right! This flash drive is more than enough & now I can easily work on projects wherever I choose, unlike my other eternal drive, I’ll only plug into maybe once a week or less..
With my old computers & laptops, I had to deal with Graphic & GPU cards for what my work required.. and obviously I’m way out of the loop right now since had to look up this computers display adapter, which is Intel(R) UHD 600.. which apparently is Windows lowest of 2..this HUD 600 & HDR ? still to research but that aside..
Unless your work or gaming requires different, the color/video watching on this machine has been great 🙂
The only concern building with regards to a couple of reviews I read before purchasing, is the charging cord or the port.. twice while plugged I got a notice pop up about my battery almost zero.. again, this was while it was already plugged in!
First time I tried just a light wiggle at the socket but window appeared again so unplugged and re-plugged and it started recharging.. today same windowed appeared, this time a light push verifying I’d not dislodged the plug, worked immediately.. but this time I also was paying attention so before touching it saw it appeared to be fully plugged in and when I pushed it in case my sight wrong, I confirmed it was fully in.. so will continue to monitor and going to reach out to Fusion5 as from the first time I plugged the cord in, it felt unusually tight.. so wondering if it simply a faulty cord and will happily try a new one and see if that solves it 🙂
Spoke to Amazon too about it and confirmed there is a 12 month warranty through this purchase with Amazon and if I’ve further trouble to just call them!
Will update in reviews if occurs again ..
that aside, as tried to say in the beginning of this review, I went into this believing the price well worth taking a chance and still feel that way! 12.1.22
12.6.22 UPDATE; I’m getting great support from Fusion5 so far 🙂
Even more believe this laptop AMAZING for the price!!!
Having read the couple of reviews referring to charging problems [before purchase] and experiencing a very slight episode on my own/new machine, I contacted Fusion5 Support** querying whether this laptop has had a lot of customers experiencing trouble with the charger cord or charger port.. and if so, did they have a solution.. & even asked if there’s a better charger cord I should buy to avoid future trouble…
Reminder – I had a ‘slight’ charging issue and actually haven’t had another since/and I’ve been on my machine everyday multiple times..
Fusion5 Support responded within LESS than 24 hours with;
Regarding your charging issue – firstly we apologize for the inconvenience this may have caused you.
The issue is unusual and not something we have had multiple reports of.
We would like to ship a replacement charger to you, to see if this resolves the issue.
Please may we request you to confirm your full shipping address?
—————————————
Please note I’d wrote them I’D buy a charger cord if that might be a solution and they’re DIDN’T
try to take advantage of my offer ! 🙂 They’ve been great so far!
That’s it for now. Will update again after I receive & test new charger cord
**.. please seek out the separate review I will post soon after this one about Getting to Fusion5 Support
UPDATE 12.14.22 Rec’d the new charger cord and just plugging it in immediately felt easier & smoother connection & can report no more charging episodes at all!
This laptop is wonderful.. AMAZING when considering, even including cost of my new 512GB Flash drive, & wireless mouse, it’s cost me LESS THAN QUARTER than spent on my last laptop!
AND the Fusion5 support IS fast & thorough!!!
Bought this to upload data from the Dexcom 6 blood sugar monitoring system. Chromebook or iPad wouldn’t work for this purpose. Very happy with this laptop.
It’s a Xmas present for my hubby ,very happy with i
Love the lightweight, compact size. Delivery was prompt, no problems at all, happy to recommend this selle
The laptop is small enough to carry around. It’s easy to use and well worth the money. I would recommend it.
As a laptop virgin this is perfect. Not too big and very light weight. Really good price too.
Though it’s just less than a week since I bought it but I am very satisfied with the performance and I am still trying to fully get to know the capabilities and shortcomings of it…
What’s not to like – does exactly what is says on the box. Perfect for my requirements.
Lovely very easy to set up lightweight very impressed for the price
I like the fact that it was easy to set up and use. It’s light weight makes it easy to take with you anywhere
Very portable, much faster and having much more storage than my previous HP laptop which cost more than 3 times the price of the Fusion laptop. More than happy with this purchase which I have been using for the past 6 months without any problems whatsoever.
The sound very low but I didn’t mind that as it’s always hooked up to my tv it uses a micro HDMI so I had to buy a converter but it’s a brilliant laptop perfect for home, office or gaming
Bought this small laptop to use while travelling and it has handled everything I needed. Small and pretty lightweight. Looks nice as well.
ice simple laptop, very lightweight! currently seems to be functioning fine and the set up was very easy, will update if I encounter problems
Love this laptop for its portability and Windows 10/11
Just what I needed for schoolwork & work, much prefer it to Mac
The laptop is exactly what I need for average personal use. Lots of excellent features and was easy to set up. It’s a convenient size with a bright screen. I like the range of plug-in sockets. I recommend this Fusion 5 laptop to anyone who wants a machine that is reasonably priced for the facilities it includes.
The Fusion5 laptop is great for beginners perfect for kids of school age for doing homework.
Screen perfect size I’m not fussed hd quality is good on the small screen this laptop is suitable for playing PC games meets the minimum requirement.
Overall satisfied with this purchase great value for the 159 price for a small laptop.this laptop supports USB devices without any problems I connected my dvd/cd rewriter and made copy’s of my father inlaws music cd without any problems well worth the money for a reasonable priced laptop
Good value, quick delivery, set up easy..very portable and light. I have only had it a week, but so far very pleased.
The laptop is very easy to set up and use. It is the right size to place in a bagpack and take anywhere on the go. A great storage size and is quick to turn on and off without long waiting times that other laptops have issue with. A great value for money.
Lightweight easy to use even for a novice with little tech knowledge.
Step by step setup
Good battery life and screen quality plenty of memory for beginne
Fusion5 is very slim and really lightweight. This device comes in handy for my personal uses away from my work device. It has high computing speed and screen quality. I find it extremely user-friendly and helpful to work with. The only drawbacks are that the inbuilt device volume is low so I need to utilize external speaker when making call. Also the power button is located near the delete button and often press the power button instead, turning it off. Other than these the overall performance is superb. I am exceptionally delighted with the laptop.
Boots up quickly and runs outlook, word, excel and a browser simultaneously with very easy switching between programs running Windows 11. Very easy to carry because it’s small and light but the screen is bright and clear. Fantastic value for money.
Bought this to stream to my projector. Works really well…easy to set up, easy to use. For streaming would have preferred a full HDMI connector, which would include audio, but not a big issue. It’s been reliable and hasn’t failed. Would buy again if and when needed…
This is a Light weight, handy, perfect for travel laptop.
If your work does not require a lot of memory, then its perfect for you.
The laptop working very fine for me till now.
Only issue I personally have and might not be a problem for others is, the touch pad surface is not smooth and as I have dry skin, I get a wired feeling, so I placed a plastic on to of the touch pad.
Perfect little laptop and customer service great as I upgraded to windows 11 on receipt and found the microphone wasn’t working, they responded straight away and sent a usb for me to sort myself. My only issue is the power cord is rather short but got it on an extension lead so all good. Small, fully functioning and light, fits neatly in my bag.
great little laptop, purchased for my mother and she is very happy with it. lightweight, fast and has windows 11.
Interesting device . Im not sure about battery .Looks like do some jumps when using but not sure yet . it was standing for some time … How ever for me personally would be problem to work something with software and programs as screen for that a bit small .Other thing good quality keyboard and nice design . Its good for browsing and reading news for sure . FOR more things to do it depends.Just feels its not laptop which works few years properly and starts working slow . By the way its sound is good enough comparing i have 13inch ASUS at home .So it’s perfect device to use from time to time is my conclusio
It’s a beautiful sturdy PC, light weight. Adequate size for game play all in very impressed
It has taken a while to get used to a smaller laptop, plus it updated to windows 11 within hours of me setting it up. This was an easy process. However, getting used to windows 11 is taking much longer. Had to buy a book to help iron out what I didn’t understand. I am sure the real savvy computer users would sort it out much quicker than me. I will have to get help off my grandkids. ( Uni students ) they seem to know it all
I was surprised at the excellent high standard of this laptop for my 17 year old daughter. very happy
Its Light and portable great for students and Fast processing speed
Laptop is very quick and efficient for my needs very satisfied with this produc
This lightweight laptop does everything I need would recommend i
This lightweight laptop does everything I need
Would recommend this laptop
With travel opening up I wanted a compact laptop that I could take with me, that was small enough to fit inside a room safe, (my 14″ laptop is too big).
I have not heard of Fusion5 before, but the reviews I read were mostly positive, so I decided to go for it.
The set-up into the pre-installed Windows 10 when very smoothly and at the end I was offer the free upgrade to Window 11. This did take a while to download, as Windows 10 was still trying to download and install its own updates at the same time. But with a little patience all went well and Windows 11 is up and running.
I have only had this 11.6″ laptop for a couple of days and so far I am very pleased with it, big thumbs up and 5 Stars from me.
Thanks for a great item at a great price and prompt delivery
I bought this laptop on a sale for 100 off. I use it for basic stuff- work emails, creating documents, my monthly budget and online shopping. I’ve had no issues and it’s been a few months. Plus it it lightweight which is a plus
The laptop is brilliant as I’ve got enough space for games and my college work
Great laptop not one problem with it great value for money would recommend buying i
– the laptops a bit slow
– good value for money though
– will fulfil most day to day tasks
My wife and I travel quite a lot and I write a journal as we go. At the end of each day I e-mail our latest news to framily and friends at home. I’ve been doing this for a decade now, and the unexpected benefit is that we can now read back years later and re-live our experiences. I used to take a bulky laptop with me, but its weight in my backpack became, literally, wearying, so I switched to my mobile and tablet. However, I still had a hankering for a proper lightweight PC.
After a few purchases that didn’t work out I spotted the Fusion5 machine and, because at around 200 it wasn’t going to break the bank, I decided to give it a try. I’m very pleased that I did.
It’s really light and compact, with an excellent screen display. I’m sure that it might have shortcomings for more demanding users, but as a second, portable PC that can travel with me it’s perfect.
One early niggle is that the power key is a bit too close to the backspace key, and I’ve accidentally switched it off a couple of times :o)
Overall, a good windows laptop for the price. It is a little sensitive when using the mouse, and contrary to this, in order to type on the keyboard, it requires quite a heavy touch on the keys, but you soon get used to this.
Windows 10 slow to open apps once open everything works ok boot time is excessive, not able to update to windows 11 bet it would work well with Linux as its operating system. Plenty of memory left after installing what I needed.
I wanted a very small, lightweight laptop to carry in my hand baggage while flying and to use during a forthcoming hotel quarantine overseas, to use mainly for emails and keeping in touch and general web surfing. This item fits the bill in many ways, it is small, light (around 900 grammes plus a lightweight AC adaptor) and has sufficient power and memory for everyday use (though not for gaming and the like.) The screen is bright and clear and the speaker and mike OK for everyday use.
However, there are two issues. First the spacebar only works if pressed firmly in the middle, not if pressed at either end. As the spacebar is short to start with, this makes typing slow and troublesome. Second, the camera often produces a very dim image – not so good for video calling and conferencing. I am not sure whether these are issues with the unit which I ordered or are design faults, but am now considering sending this item back.
Update – did send the first unit back (no issues with return) and ordered a replacement. The space bar was better on the replacement unit, right end worked, left end did not work for the first two or three mm, which is OK for my typing style. Camera still dim, but decided to live with it as the unit is perfect size and weight for its proposed use.
Recommended as a second or third laptop to keep connected when travelling and for simple everyday computing use when on the road, only when size and weight are considerations. Otherwise there are many slightly larger alternatives available for same or lower price. Not recommended as main machine.
If video calls are a consideration probably not so good because of the dim camera – though many of us can use our smartphone for such calls.
Update (after 18 months). Still using this machine and still OK as second machine to use when travelling or to slip into briefcase. It should be mentioned that it is a little slow compared with my current everyday laptops (themselves budget machines.) It seems to have slowed down a little as the memory has filled, but remains OK for simple everyday use. Fine for streaming from Amazon Video, but speakers have limited quality/volume so earphones or external speaker an advantage.
Perfect little laptop, its charges up very easier, and its perfect for what i want.
The laptop is very much what you pay for. It’s very good and very compact so easy to travel with. Runs things like 3D printing software very well however struggles when attempting to play video games. Other then that it’s a decent laptop and I would recommend it quite highly
Bought this for convenience instead of carrying about a big, old fashioned laptop.
Does everything in need albeit my needs are fairly simple.
The screen has Lovely vivid images. The anti glare really works – in the pictures I’ve included, all the photos were taken sideways on, approximately 18 inches from a sunny South East facing window. As you’ll see, the images are still very clear. The laptop sits on my lap perfectly. Yes, I agree with other reviews that the sound isn’t the best. You can hear it, but it’s not brilliant. If the makers could put the speakers and the vents facing up through the keyboard, the sound would be better. I’ve also tried to show how big and how thin it is in my photos. I only want this laptop for basic functions for when I’m away from home – email, write reports, zoom meetings, Internet searches and such like. This is perfect so far for all Ive needed
